Had a massive backup at my house! Promptly called and they were able to set up an appointment ASAP. Upon arrival I informed the tech that I was unsure where the problem was. They did a camera inspection. Even showed me the footage which was great. Long story short, they replaced the shut off valves behind the washing machine, as well as water heater, along with drain valve on water heater. Then we went ahead and did the hydro jet on our main sewer line to clean it out. It has now been two days. We have had zero backup and can actually notice the improvement on how quickly our showers and sinks drain. I was very happy with the professional service. This company is contracted through my HOA. There is a current, active leak at 9:35 PM on 1/2/24. The water is clearly coming underneath the adjacent building, however, the plumber does not notify any of the 4 units in that building but instead comes to my unit and leaves a flyer without addressing the issue. Does not talk to the actual unit under which there is a huge stream of water. I would never recommend this company to take care of your home plumbing leaks. As a property manager I have dealt with numerous plumbing companies in the area and this is probably one of the worst ones that overcharges you for doing absolutely nothing. We had an unfortunate incident where we had a master bathroom water leak, where the emergency HoA line was called and they were the designated plumbing company. They came out, found out that "shower valve running out of tub sprout, letting water leak back into the wall and into the downstairs dining room ceiling." The invoice we got literally said this and the following: 2) Advise that this is homeowner responsibility 3) Would contact homeowner Bill: $225.00 $225 for doing nothing. Really? After disputing this charge with the HoA (which is notorious, by the way), it was down to $188. Why would we pay $188 for a company to come and and simply tell us what the issue is without actually fixing it? If they actually did some work and repaired it, sure. But they should NOT be charging that amount for simply driving here, spend 30min looking around, and leave. Another incident happened where a downstairs neighbor reported that there was leaking from their garage. They entered our unit without trying to contact us beforehand, walked around and into our master bathroom, saw toilet having a mild leak, switched the water off, then charged us $375. James Le Court Plumbing (JPL) was hired by our HOA to make a plumbing repair for a leak we had in the kitchen. Shortly after the repair their work failed and flooded our kitchen with a leak far worse than the one we initially had. They failed to provide dry out service to dry the water for the first leak and their leak. The accumulated water caused excessive mold growth that damaged all the dry wall and lower cabinets in our kitchen and our neighbors space. We contacted them several times to pay for the damages and they have refused to acknowledge the damage and respond to our communications. Their work quality is poor, and their customer service is terrible. read more

This review is not based on the actual service provided (that was fine) but it is on their pricing. The HOA still insists James Le Court plumbing is the least expensive plumber to use to shut off the water, but they are robbing the residents of our complex charging $175 just to turn off the water. We can use a different plumber for services, however it is much more difficult to do this and I believe James Le Court plumbing knows this and therefore overcharges for its services. They charged $95 per valve (this is the hot/cold valves in kitchen), we asked for the model # and it is $5 online. They refused to tell us how much they pay, likely because they are overcharging 1800%. They also called us after they gave us the quote and they tried to tell us they "misquoted" us and wanted us to pay $200 more... like wtf? This place has scam pricing. read more

Jame Le Court did another great job for me. They worked on both the slab leaks that I have had in my home. Hopefully no more for us. The most recent job was done efficiently and he was very friendly and helpful! There are a lot of slabs leaks in Rancho Santa Margarita the everyone is very busy but they got the fix done in a reasonable amount of time. They showed up, analyzed what was wrong, took care of the asbestos check and returned to get the job done. They informed us we could turn the hot water off and on when we needed it, so we did not have to go without or boil water in the microwave lol. We never had water on the floor or in the walls and it was contained to the slab outside of the house...we were lucky! Just 4 holes in the laundry room. Upper unit condo. Leaks caused damage to the garage below. Carl quickly pinpointed it was our toilet wax ring that needed replacement. He worked efficiently to fix the problem and was nice enough to point out other things that should be looked at. The owner called first thing in the morning and got DANNY out in 30 minutes to us. He was SOOOO NICE and just did a WONDERFUL, professional job sealing the base. I had a job done to fix an issue with our drain by this company that originally our HOA had sent out. We personally hired them to fix an issue on our end because the plumber seemed like a very friendly/knowledgeable guy when he was here taking a look. After the plumber had left, a couple days later when using the shower we noticed a piece of our shower hardware was broken during the process of the repairs and now are left with no shower. When I had reached out to talk to the owner Jim regarding this issue he was quick to say that it was not their fault and we would have to pay more money if we want a guy to be sent out to look at the issue. Let me clarify that this is something THEY HAD DONE/BROKE in the first place, and he wanted US to pay for it! He refused to believe it. I hardly ever write reviews but I just want to come here and say save your time and money and go elsewhere. They were prompt, however their pricing is nothing short larceny. The company is employed by our HOA Association, and were called to investigate a leak in my guest shower that seem to be coming from the unit above. The guy shows up cuts a whole in my drywall doesn't see any water or leak other than the damage to the drywall. He tries to knock on the neighbors door and access the unit above to ascertain if the leak is coming from the neighbors unit was unable to do so, and hence he leaves. A few days later he makes an appointment with the owner of the unit above spend 15 to 20 minutes running the water and as you're not trying to ascertain whether or not he can find a leak wasn't able they leave. A month later I get a bill for $500 lol. After a few conversations with folks at their office they realize that we were in fact overbilled my $90 I'm sorry to say but a service call like that should cost nothing more than $200-$250 so if you want to get screwed employ these guys. read more

Tldr; this guy is rude and an absolute crook HOA sent them out. I was told I could not pick my own plumber and they never said anything about the rate. No charge was ever mentioned before he came out nor was I involved in the time he came but of course he decides to come right after 5pm (after hours) granted I did not know of any charge or that the time he came matters since he was called by the hoa around 2pm and came right after 5pm He comes over and I find out the problem in five minutes (I didn't want to turn on the water with out a plumber), he literally did nothing as I turned it back on and found the problem. He begins to laugh at me saying I'm out thousands of dollars in damage (upstairs was flooded to the downstairs ceiling) and that the hoa. Right before he gets in his truck he says he is going to bill me $400 which I laughed off as I thought it was a joke and told him no way as he was there less than ten minutes and didn't even offer to repair. Months later I get a bill for over $300 for less than ten minutes and no services / repairs rendered and any other plumber would have had no charge. I hope this is the last time I ever have to use James LeCourt Plumbing. I was forced to use them by my HOA, which only authorizes LeCourt to shut off the hot water in my community. Fortunately, I'm selling my condo and won't be forced to use them again. I'm so angry right now because I called them last night after I had new countertops and a sink installed. The countertop guy found a leak under the sink. The angle stop was broke and hot water was streaming out of the tube. He placed the tube into the pipe that goes out the drain, but I felt uncomfortable leaving it. What if the upstairs neighbors dropped something heavy and the tube came out of the pipe and water started pouring on the floor? Or what if there was an earthquake? Since I don't live there anymore, there's no way I could check it. And, I just spent $4,000 on new laminate floors that I didn't want to get ruined. So I called LeCourt Plumbing. It was 7 p.m. and they said they would have to charge $325-$400 for an emergency call. I knew that was expensive but I was worried about my new floors so I said okay. Well, when the plumber got there he said he couldn't make the repair. He said if he turned off the hot water the other neighbors would get furious. He can only turn off the hot water between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. when most people are at work - unless it's an emergency. And this wasn't an emergency. So he tucked the tube into the pipe tightly and said it would be fine until the morning. I was okay with that until he told me that he still need to charge me $325 for an emergency call, even though he didn't do any work. Unbelievable! I was able to speak to the manager the next day and he lowered the emergency call to $225 but still - what a waste of money! Plus, they charged me $175 to change two angel stops when I only needed to have one replaced. Bottom line - they charged me $400 for an $85 job. Don't use them - they are WAY, WAY, WAY too expensive. read more

Biggest bunch of liars. I would not recommend them because they will do anything to rack up your bill without telling you additional costs. If I could give 0 stars I would. Let's just start off that we had a leak in our condo complex and our HOA referred them. After talking with my HOA they will no longer be using their company to do any work in our complex. The plumber said he would be here by 5:00 and shows up at 7:00. Kept us waiting for 2 hours and they had the nerve to charge us for his travel time. The plumber insisted that he come today and could not come at a later date because he was under the impression that it was an emergency. Even though I stated multiple times that it was not and asked if he could come next week when I had the week off. Of course he said no he has to come today because it is the only time that aligned with my neighbor, who's condo he had to check as well. After I spoke with her she even stated that she would prefer them to come in a week rather than that day. When he does finally show up he spends a whopping 23 minutes in our place. He cuts a huge hole in our ceiling and the only tool he used other than a knife to cut a whole in our ceiling was a flashlight. He touched the ceiling and moved his flash light around and said I do not see a leak, let me go upstairs and run the washer and AC. He comes back down and moves the light around a few more times and says there is no active leak. During this whole process we consistently asked him if the pipes he was looking at were common pipes. We asked 6 times and each time he said yes. Then to our surprise when we get the report from the HOA he states that none of them were commons pipes, but home owner pipes. We get our bill and it is a whopping 260 dollars for 23 minutes of "work." We had to pay for his travel time and not to mention the time he also go lost finding our place because he could not read. They charged us 187 an hour (that is more than what a doctor makes) and then charged me another $80 for his travel time. They also charged us the overtime rate, which they failed to mention. Now I know why the plumber insisted on coming after 5 so he could make his overtime rate. We refuse to pay the bill and look forward to seeing them in claims court. These plumbers are a bunch of scam artists. Go somewhere else because they will find anyway to charge you for the littlest thing. This family owned business is owned by a bunch of dirt bags and do not give them your business. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

The complex I live in currently has some sort of leak which made us have no access to hot water. After 2 days of this company looking at it, they still haven't fixed it. That was a Thursday and a Friday. Due to it being a weekend the next 2 days, they did not work on it. God forbid somebody has to work over the weekend to fix HUNDREDS of condos with no hot water. That means upwards of 500 people did not have hot water and James Lecourt plumbing did not care to work on it over the weekend. Recently my Mom had a water heater that was leaking in her garage. I told her that i would find a plumber to come and fix it. The problem being, I live in Arkansas and travel for my job. I hit the Yellow Pages and found James LeCourt Plumbing. I called and spoke to Jim and explained what had happened, and my situation. He told me that he would dispatch a plumber to my Moms as soon as he could and would call me back with an estimate for the work. I assumed that they would be unable until later that day. Wrong!! My Mom called me about 45 minutes after I spoke to Jim. The plumber was at the gate to her community. The plumber arrived at her house and immediately began assesing the situation. He explained, in detail, what the problem was and what was going to be required to fix it. My Mom called me, and I told her to go ahead and approve the repairs. With water all over the garage, what else are you going to do? The plumber did not have a water heater with him and advised her that he would need to get one then would complete the repairs. Again, I figured this would take some time to do. And again, I was wrong! He left the house and returned in less than two hours. The middle of the day in Irvine, I thought that was pretty good time! The work was completed within two hours, including clean up. I can't express enough how happy I am with James LeCourt Plumbing. Living so far away from my Mom its hard to find trustworthy businesses to do work for her. Very professional group. I was kept in the loop during the whole process. Really made me feel at ease. Have had multiple experiences with this company via our HOA and none of them were good. Completely overcharged for a fire pit repair which included a "1 year warranty" yet it never worked properly after the $2400 repair bill. They had to come out several times after, did absolutely nothing to fix the inconsistency of it igniting, but charged the HOA an additional $800 for those visits. This is the worst business I have ever dealt with in terms of quality of work performed and customer service. My next door neighbor had a clog in her drain and unfortunately called Jim LeCourt Plumbing. While unclogging her drain, they caused an overflow into my kitchen sink. There were thick, smelly black liquid all over my brand new granite countertop, appliances and kitchen floor. I rushed to alert the plumber. After 2 1/2 hours, the plumber gave up and said "I can't fix this tonight. I need to leave and regroup. Someone will call you tomorrow to schedule a follow up visit and someone else will contact you to arrange a time to come out and sanitize your place.' With that he abruptly left, leaving me to spend another hour wiping away and mopping all that disgusting black goo away. When they returned, they spent another 1 1/2 to fix their original mistake. Once my drain was unclogged, they left me with a trail of black goo on my kitchen and living room floors and another hour of mopping and cleaning. After several phone calls with the owner, Jim and the condo's home owner association, I was told by both parties that they will not cover the cost of sanitation. I asked Jim to help rectify the problem as I am a victim of his company's error. He said there was nothing he could do. At this time, I said I will review his company on Yelp, to which he yelled "I WILL NOT HELP YOU. THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM. GO FUCK YOURSELF!" and then hung up. Carl arrived on time and quickly went to work on a leak above my downstairs bathroom. After cutting two holes in the ceiling he located the pin hole leak. Fixed the pipe and was cleaned up and done within two hours. Very clean job, now I just have to have the drywall repaired. $225 for less than two hours of work is more than my dentist makes-seems to be a common trend in this field, minimal supplies, high labor costs. Otherwise, 5 star work. Had to call back the following leak, same pipe, 12' away, another leak-too much of a coincidence. Carl came back and did the work without charge-I like that!
