But first: location and setting: It is tucked in a corner with backdrops of lush trees, has its own private parking. It also has a covered patio/extension which has lights and curtains, very nice touch for folks who want to sit down and eat the pies. Btw they have a large menu of not only pies, pot pies but also baklava, sandwiches, pizzas, with cold drinks/beverages. When you step inside, it's warm and smells delectable with the warmth from the ovens and the aroma of fresh baked goods. Theres a bench where you can sit and wait for your order, flanked by a rustic country themed console with their plastic utensils. There's a display of slices of pies and baklava. Do you know they actually offer chocolate peanut pie (instead of pecans!)... Overhead is a small TV that shows a video showing men in traditional Turkish garb dancing, very poignant way to highlight the bakers' ethnic roots. Five stars because, how can pie be bad? We were visiting the area and saw this on Yelp. It doesn't look like much when you drive up to the small building. You can order inside or out. Twenty-year old, family-run business. All kinds of sweet and savory (vegetable, chicken, turkey) pies, whole or by the slice. We shared a delicious chicken pot pie. My chocolate pecan pie could have used more chocolate, but my husband's apple-strawberry was great, and they gave us a cup of ice cream on the house. Cute patio seating with 4 or 5 tables. The hubs, father in law, and I were driving through the Williamsburg area. Jamestown Pie Company caught our eye and we made an immediate unplanned stop. We all are very fond of sweets, but mostly pies such as coconut, key lime, and pecan. Parking was in abundance, and the storefront looked spacious than what it was on the inside. I think there were two entrances, but I could be wrong. One to order takeaway pies, and the other to accommodate a dining atmosphere outside. I believe they also serve pizza, sandwiches, and dessert pies. Upon entering we noticed a narrow entryway to the counter displaying the slices of pies. The gentleman at the register seemed to be in a grumpy mood. There was not much acknowledgment of our presence as we perused the slices available. I wouldn't say the slices of pies looked inviting and enticing, but you should never judge a book by its cover. So we ordered a slice of coconut, key lime, and 3 pieces of baklava. The gentleman seemed annoyed to explain what a baklava was to my father in law, which didn't sit well with me. We paid and left, and I was looking forward to eating it in the car. The coconut slice was chill with shreds of coconut baked on top and throughout. There was a hint of sweetness with each bite. It had a eggy consistency which was interesting. The crust was sort of dry and hard. The key lime was okay and tart. As for the baklava the phylo was flaky and sticky as it should be. The slices looked to be less than 1/6 of a pie and about $5. They also offer pies for purchase, but I would recommend calling ahead for availability. I wanted to order the pecan slice, but it looked smaller than 1/6 in the container, and it was in pieces so I opted not to. Overall not a bad place to stop if your passing through. This is nice little shop that sells pizza and pies. I'm not a pie person but my family bought a variety of them and said they were good. When I come back I will try a pizza. The staff was very nice and they have slices and small personal pies. They do also have regular size pies if you would like to feed a lot of people.. they sell sandwiches as well here. Called in and ordered a pie a few days in advance. When I went to pick it up they didn't have it made. They offered to make it on the spot and I accepted. It took an hour or so. It was key lime so it didn't have time to set. We tried to eat it that evening but it wasn't very good...waited to eat the rest until the next day and it was much improved after setting. We did order pizzas while we waited for the pie and that's the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. The pizza's were exceptional. Overall a pretty bad experience. We stopped by on the way back from a tour of Jamestown thinking we would pick up a pie for dessert and ended up picking up our entire meal. We got an Au Gratin Pot Pie for the adults, a cheese pizza for our son, and a bumbleberry pie for dessert. Everything was very good. We purchased the Au Gratin Pot Pie frozen so we could bake it back at our place. The bumbleberry pie was "just right", not too sweet and not too sour. The Au Gratin was similarly "just right" in that it was rich and creamy but not overly so. The crusts were of excellent taste and texture. Based on this one experience Jamestown Pie Company is on our list for go-to places on our next visit to the area. read more

With this restaurant if you blink you will miss it. It is located on the way to the Ferry just before you get to the Jamestown settlement. It is located across from the 7-11. They make the best home made pies to order. It's pretty neat they serve all in the "round" pizza , hot pot pies, dessert pies, home made ice cream-scooped into a container, on a cone or along side your favorite dessert pie. They also serve bar b que. This place is locally owned. They have a nice outside seating area. The owners are so nice and personable. I take my dog when ever I can to places and they are dog friendly. My pup is spoiled. Isn't it interesting how you find these little gems when you're not even looking? I was on my way to the Jamestown historical site and I had a few minutes to kill and I also had a little bit of hunger going in my stomach. So passed by this little shack on the side of the road and after a few seconds of deciding, I made a U turn. I walked in to the shack and there was just a small ordering space, this isn't a table and chairs place. I decided to get a slice of coconut custard, one of my all time favorites. And when I saw there was a blueberry peach flavor, it got me curious, so I tried that as well. The coconut custard was one of the best I've ever had, it was loaded with coconut, the custard was thick and creamy and the top of the pie had that nice toasted coconut flavor. The blueberry peach was OK, but I felt the flavor of the blueberries completely overwhelmed the peach. I could have used some whipped cream on it. It cost 10 bucks for the 2 slices which seemed to be quite a bit, but at least the size of the slices was pretty good. I'm pretty sure I would come back and try other flavors, most likely the key lime and the Virginia peanut sounded pretty good too. read more

The pie was very good and may cause my wife to start adding chocolate chips to the one she makes. The only downside is there is no inside seating. I'd been meaning to try out Jamestown Pie Company for quite some time, as I'd heard about their sweet and savory pies. They offer nuts and fruit pies, as well as deep dish pot pies, pizza pies, and sandwiches. When we went earlier in the day, I was disappointed that they had no savory pies available, but only a limited selection of sweet pies. I got to try out their chocolate pecan pie (it was more chocolate than pecan, but had a good amount of pecans on top) and the key lime pie (we actually came back later for this, as it was stated that it was going to be baked later in the day; it was more sweet than tart, which I was not a fan of). Volcan was the friendly employee that helped us, and even though we weren't a fan of their pies, I'm glad I was still able to check them out. We saw this place on our way to Jamestown and the menu intrigued us. I am a fan of pies, no doubt about it and I was clamoring for a good slice. I mean, seriously. So, when we decided to stay in, we ordered online and eagerly awaited our delivery. First things first. We ordered through a third party delivery service and when the driver got to the restaurant, they said they never received the order. Our driver showed them the order and they got to making it. However, because of this, we waited over an hour for our pizza and 2 slices of pie. Not a deal-breaker. It didn't seem like anyone's fault and we were excited to try it, so it wasn't a huge deal. We had the river crab pizza pie. I was really excited to try it. I love crab and I live in a land-locked state, so when in Rome... But I was kind of disappointed. The white sauce was not really there. I expected something creamy and it was a let-down. I also felt like there should have been more crab. The pizza was super cheesy, which was flavorful, but kind of one-note. The crust was basically a cracker. Bland and dry. Please note that I don't like pizza, anyway. C really wanted to try this, so I obliged. But honestly, I was really expecting more. I had high hopes and this just did not deliver. (Ba-dum) Their dessert pies, however, were a dream. I got a slice of the butterscotch pecan pie and it was heavenly. I could have eaten a whole pie. It was sweet, but not sickly sweet. C got the key lime pie and it was tart and creamy and exactly what you want from it. TL;DR: If we just got dessert pies, the review would have been much higher. We were hanging out on the deck @ Billsburg Brewery and needed some libations. There was a Jamestown Pie Company menu on the window sill, and after hitting Yelp to make sure it wasn't a bad decision - placed an order here about 7:15 Saturday night. Cheese pizza, small was a pretty good size, and no delivery fee for $12 - can't beat it! We told them we were on the deck and would come meet the delivery driver when they got there, but before we knew it - he had come up to our table and brought us our pizza! They brought paper plates and napkins as well. The pizza hit the spot but the service put it over the top. We will order from them again the next time we're out this way. read more
