I don't get to visit this location often however I recently visited and must say you have two of the kindest, most attentive and professional young ladies that work at this location. I believe their names are Alise and Gaby and they are so warm and friendly and make it a pleasure to shop at this location. I have been a regular customer for years now at the Palo Alto store. on Labor Day I purchased 4 items which totaled $150. Several of the items are for my grandkids who reside in Washington. I went in the store today to get a large bag from them for the plane ride and the youmg lady at the cashier desk said she it cost .25cents. I showed her my receipt from Monday and she even brought up my account on her terminal and saw that I'm a valued customer and have regular purchases there. My Mom said she would pay the quarter for the bag but I told her no- it's not the quarter I'm upset over- even if the cashier asked me for one penny for the bag I still would decline to pay for it. I spend roughly hundreds of dollars there monthly- and have been for years. it's the principle of it. Sad to say I will never shop there again. The customer service there has never been this way. For only .25cents the store just lost a loyal and valued customer. read more

I miss the way this Janie and Jack used to be! The clothes are still adorable (though pricey) but the big change I noticed today was in customer service. I've made several clothing exchanges at this store before when I've received kids clothes as gifts, the kids size & season of the clothes we bought didn't match up, etc. Today I brought in three items to exchange and the employee who tried to help me essentially rolled her eyes at me and said, "no way." I explained to hear that I've done a lot of exchanges here in the past (and the staff have always been friendly about this) but she still basically said, "too bad." So now I have a few pieces of pricey clothing that none of my kids will be able to wear. If exchanges will be very strict like this now, I'll definitely be shopping elsewhere instead of here! Nordstrom is one of many great options with consistently much better customer service. read more

Adorable clothing and shoes. I love having some higher quality options to buy outfits for my toddler son. I recently got a very cute sweater and matching jogging pants for him. I did have an experience with a pretty sour manager with a return that didn't make me want to buy again. I bought a cute pair of shoes for my son a month ago, two days before Christmas. Christmas Day: my son tries on the shoes and they didn't fit; he didn't wear them, obviously. A month went by; I tried to return them with the receipt, and brought the shoes with me. The salesperson up front is nice but the manager comes by and sneers, "those are worn, we wouldn't sell those to you," taking out another pair of shoes to prove it. No efforts made in being amenable, just mistrust and blaming me for the state of the shoes. I appreciated the fact that she's running a business and thinks I'm trying to gain an advantage by having my toddler wear some shoes and then return them... but they were in my car for the past month. No big deal, but please, you could have just said "those are worn, we unfortunately can't take them back," and given me a smile. Next time, I'm going to Nordstrom... read more

This rating is solely for my experience w/ customer service 2-3 Sundays ago. I stop by this J&J all the time whenever we visit the shopping center. Today's experience was really one of a kind customer service my hubby and I have ever received. The store staff that rang us up was Katarina. The initial transaction was fine until the end. She didn't offer us a bag until I asked my husband if he was going to get a bag and so my husband asked if the city of Palo Alto has taken onto the no bag ordinance as we're from San Jose. She was hesitant in answering our question then asked if we wanted a bag. If so, we would have to pay 10 cents. Second, my husband had his hand out to receive the change and she just dropped in on the counter for him to pick it up. After that she completely ignored us like we weren't standing there still waiting for a receipt. She didn't thank us for visiting, etc Instead of finishing the transaction with us she decided to answer another customer's question while we stood there. My husband grab the receipt from the register and we left. This was by far the rudest customer service my husband and I have ever experience anywhere. I love shopping at this Janie and Jack store. Maria who works there is sweet and very helpful every time I go in. She doesn't follow you around the store like some people do, but ask if she could be of any assistance. She's also very personable. I love the clothes and have to admit, this is one of my favorite stores to buy baby clothes. They also make great gifts. If it's a gift, the store takes time to box your items and puts a ribbon around the box. Janie & Jack makes high quality and adorable clothes. I haven't had an issues with their clothes yet. The clothes can be expensive, but they do have a sales rack for those looking for a bargain. They also have friends & family days which saves you an additional 25% off. My wife and I have purchased clothes Janie and Jack before, however this time we received some clothing as a gift, along with a gift receipt. The clothes were not exactly what we wanted, so we attempted to do a direct exchange for something different. However, they have put in a new policy that anything purchased before March 5th, 2019 cannot be exchanged or returned, EVEN IF you have the receipt. Again, we were not trying to return the item for money or anything like that, we just wanted to exchange it for something else. We will not be shopping there ever again. read more

Great customer service, I love how they call whenever they have a sale coming up. Sure prices are steep for kids clothing, but the sales are great and the clothes are super cute. I have twins and I can always find cute girl clothes everywhere but boys clothing is another story, but Janie and Jack always have cute boys clothes. I just with the store was bigger =(. read more

I have been buying J&J since 2007. They have beautiful clothes for boys and girls. I love that you can coordinate siblings with the outfits. The store manager for this location is the best! She is the sweetest, friendliest and most helpful person at J&J. I would rather drive to her store for 45 mins (I live in the South Bay) just because she makes the shopping experience super helpful and friendly. She is the best! Thank you, Sandra. The two times we shopped here we had excellent customer service. The employees chatted with my daughter and offered her stickers, which made for a very happy toddler! They were also great about offering to get sizes not out on the racks or locate another place with the size we needed. Yes, clothes here are pricey, but they are durable and there are often many good things on sale. And of course, all the clothes are super cute. I only wish they made some of these things for me. read more
