This gem in Wichita Falls, Texas was such a great place to find for truly excellent, authentic sushi. Although I was there to place an order to go, the manager & hostess treated me very well. It was a very hot day on July 7, 2026. They welcomed me, brought a cold drink to me, even gave me ice water for my dog. The sushi to go dishes were so beautiful, only adding to a stellar experience. I could see that the furnishings along with the ambiance would, in the near future, make for a very enjoyable lunch or dinner with others in a party for a memorable celebration. Major disappointment. Ramen taste like watered down instant noodles at best. The sushi is sub-par at best, plus there was No pickled ginger or horseradish. The staff I nice, so decent service. Arrived at 4:00pm on a Thursday, and the place was dead! Maybe that's why it only took about 15 minutes to get our food (we ordered off the menu instead of getting the $30 all you can eat). We so enjoyed this! I think it's a pretty good deal to get the AYCE. The plates are small so it's a fun way to try a lot of items. Service was quick, everything came out nicely presented. I like the highback booths, feels very quiet for a date night. There is enough of interest here to come again and again. New restaurant in town so we decided to give it a go and indeed the Food was Delicious, service was Amazing Aubrey was a heck of a waitress. Overall we had an early dinner about 7pm so it wasn't busy and we had a large party. They do add a gratuity for parties over 6 or 8. Overall ambiance was nice and they had customers spread out. It pains me to do this because I had such high hopes. As Yelp Elite, I take my reviews seriously so I have to be honest. I'm going to focus on the positive first. The staff is VERY friendly and attentive. The edamame appetizer that my friend ordered was quite tasty. Her husband ordered the Japanese Short Rib appetizer which was also delicious. Same with the Yellowtail Jalapeno cold appetizer. My husband and her husband had the steak hibachi which was also good. Now for the part I didn't want to talk about... I should preface this by saying I'm VERY picky about my sushi. I had the Rainbow Roll and it wasn't great. The table also ordered the Rattlesnake Roll and ummmmm yeah no! It was very disappointing. I hated that someone who doesn't eat sushi ordered it. I don't know that he will ever order sushi again. The avocado bomb appetizer was awful. The restaurant smelled very clean but sadly there were water puddles all over the floor which could cause a slipping hazard. So far, I absolutely love this place. I have been here three times and it's always been clean. The staff has always been kind and accommodating. I love the five or five buffet. It can be expensive for some, but the quantity and quality as well as the pace is worth it for me. I have had Desmond for my waiter twice and he's always great. Dinner time seems to run a bit smoother than lunch hour, which is understandable. I did post my receipt and I would say it's more like with a drink $36 per person just be prepared. You will get all you can eat that is the good quality. I have eaten so many different things on this many, definitely gives you an opportunity to try new things in small portions and you can always get some more if you really enjoy it. Anything from soups, to salads, sushi, noodles, tempura, any type of meat and very good presentation. I will give it five stars. If you have a active military ID card on your person, you can get a discount which is amazing. If nothing else, you should definitely give it a try I will be back. read more

I really enjoyed most of the sushi rolls I tried here. The short rib and pepper white tuna were delicious as well. It was very clean and the environment was great. The quality of the fish was pretty solid and about as good as you can expect for Wichita Falls. My only real complaint was that my lobster salad onigiri was a little lacking in flavor and the nori was pretty tough. There were a couple of times we had to wait a little bit for the next dishes once it got busy, but we were there in the middle of the dinner rush on a Friday evening so it wasn't unreasonable. I saw this restaurant was opening soon, and thought, 'oh no, not another Asian restaurant opening here." since the addition of Japan House was close neighbors to 3 other Asian eateries. I decided to give them a try, and was not disappointed. The staff were attentive, the servers were great in handling the meals of customers, and the variety to eat was incredible. The inside reminded me of how houses were built in feudal japan; there were many 'screens' of wood, which almost looked like shoji screens of old. The price was tolerable, unlike some of the other 3 Asian restaurants which charged a bit more, and served a bit less food via smaller portions. One of them decided to stop serving Won-ton soup, which I enjoy very much. So I decided to abandon them as a quaint storefront Asian restaurant. Over all at least giving the 2 star. It is new to the area. Unfortunatly, other then the decent atmosphere. It is a bit lacking. Food ok. Pretty under seasoned. And most things u order, that would normally come with some type of sauce doesnt. Food did come out somewhat quickish. 1 item at a time. So if u are thinking your table will get thier food together good luck. Serving expectations a negative. All u can eat concept is great if execution of the orders are good. Over all, wasn't pleased. Husband and I saw the "NOW OPEN" banners in the parking lot and decided to have a Valentine's Day lunch. Parking was ample, and we were greeted by plenty of friendly people and seated promptly. Atmosphere is fresh, bright, clean, and inviting. I like sushi but as it was a cold day I wanted a hot lunchtime meal. Waitstaff was clean, friendly, and knowledgeable and helped me with my selection and questions. I had the shrimp udon (not all you can eat option) and it came with an app. I chose fried calamari. I selected hot green tea for my beverage. Husband chose the steak hibachi plate (not all you can eat) and his app was the yakatori chicken skewers. EVERYTHING TASTED AMAZING! I ordered the calamari as a test because it has to be cooked correctly to be tender and it was perfect. It was served with lemon wedge which was quite refreshing squeezed on the calamari although some sort of dipping sauce would have been even better. My udon was tender, delicious, plentiful and elegantly plated. Shrimp were numerous and flavors were perfect and it was very hot and fresh. Husband's steak hibachi plate had tender beef, broccoli, zucchini and mushrooms and fresh made and plentiful egg fried rice. He said it was GREAT! We shared his yakatori and it too was super delicious! He had a Dr. Pepper for his beverage. We were attended to by waitstaff at just the right amount of attention, and plates were brought out amazingly FAST! (like a few minutes max). They were a bit slow on my tea and they said it was being made (just hot water/tea bag) but it was an elegant tea cup and teapot when it arrived. Wichita Falls tap water ruins everything, and the tea was no different. We have a reverse osmosis at home for CLEAN water to drink and cook and it would have probably tasted better if the water wasn't tap. You could tell. THE MENU HAS NO PRICES that I saw listed so we were not going to worry about it and just enjoy the Valentine's Day lunch. I guessed a fair price would have been $25 for tea, app, and entrée. BOY WAS I WRONG! Total bill for both of us before tip was FORTY BUCKS! For what we got, that was a GREAT PRICE! Will definitely recommend Japan House to others!
