I do not recommend this bakery. I ordered custom cookies for my bosses 20th year company anniversary. I made it very clear via phone and written in an email that the cookies needed to arrive before noon today as the office is leaving early to celebrate. I have it writing from sweet es that as long as I paid by a certain time which I did the cookies would arrive by noon. I have been emailing and calling all day confirming delivery time and requesting a photo of final product. No one's answers the phone. I left multiple voicemails. No one calls me back. I emailed multiple times, no one emails me back. It is not past noon and I just got a text from driver that they are over an hour away and have other deliveries so he doesn't know what time he could be there. They also put down the wrong address again! I even emailed them saying they needed to add penthouse to the order address. On top of all of that they had the audacity to charge the following: $20 delivery fee $10 concierge fee (for what? 0 customer service and a 3% credit card fee. Ok, I was quite scared of the bad reviews here. I needed to order my daughter a birthday cake and it was kind of last minute. I ordered my bestfriend a custom cake with a picture of him on it for his birthday I did everything on my mobile phone I chose the frosting the sprinkles, paid for the topper and uploaded a photo. They called me one time and I am in Miami time and I was at work I called back as soon as I was available a couple hours after still early in LA time and called back multiple times through out the entire day no one ever answered the phone. However, the day prior to my scheduled delivery I received a call from Sharize to confirm delivery for the next day at which point I expressed my concerns. We ordered the Rose & Macaron Cascade Cake in Dulce de Leche, size 6 inch for eight people. I thought it would be too small, but it was surprisingly tall and rich. We cut three-inch slices and still had plenty left, taking home more than half the cake. We've been to plenty of fancy Los Angeles weddings and quinceañeras with beautiful over-the-top cakes. At times those cakes are bland, hard, and not sweet at all. But Sweet E's changed the game. The cake was stunning, perfectly moist, and full of flavor. Everyone wanted seconds. Delivery arrived right on time between 10 and 12 p.m., still chilled and neatly packaged with all the extras. They even included a free Halloween Rice Krispy treat, which was such a sweet surprise. You can either pick up at their bakery in West Adams or have the cake delivered. Our cakes arrived with enough protection that our cakes arrived completely undamaged. STAY AWAY FROM!! There's truly something wrong with this place, they take forever to get back to you, you're not allowed to speak to a human being. They say that they'll just email you, I must've had seven correspondences and sent 10 pictures to them for exactly what I wanted, they screwed up the pick up date and saved the cake they originally made for a pick up date, which was three days later. Nothing about it was right, it was dry, disgusting, full of fondant and not what I had ordered. Stay away from the cookies too you might as well just order wet cement. I recently ordered gluten-free cupcakes for my superhero-themed baby shower. I asked for a specific frosting color, which they delivered on, and the flavor of the cupcake was fine. My issue was how bad the cupcakes looked. Many of them were lumpy and uneven (see photos). Now if these were homemade by a friend or something, I wouldn't care. But I paid $90 A DOZEN FOR THESE. *$90 A DOZEN.* I know gluten-free is more expensive, which I understand to a degree, but for that price I absolutely expected better. I've done my fair share of baking and I would not put these in front of a paying customer. This company brought ruin to my Christmas. I ordered a gingerbread house at about 1:00pm on December 23 because the website offers order 24 hour prior to the pick up. My money was taken online and I got a confirmation email. It's now December 26. I still have not received any messages and I cannot get through to customer service. I paid a $30 delivery fee because I expected the cake to be personally delivered by Sweet E's Bakery as any professional establishment would do. However, without communicating with me, they sent my cake through Uber, and the uber driver failed to deliver my birthday cake despite my address being correctly input in my order. I have purchased 2 cakes from Sweet E's for my daughters' birthdays. Cakes always look just as beautiful and elegant as they do in photos. You can tell the bakery works hard on them...the price is definitely for the craftsmanship. However the taste is just ok. You can get a better tasting cake much cheaper. If you're looking just for aesthetics though, 100% go for it...your cake will STUN your guests. The delivery was also smooth and professional, excellent service. I contacted Sweet E's through the website for a custom order cake - due date clearly specified. I was going back and forth on design details over several days and then asked to pay for the cake and confirm the delivery date/time. Crickets. I emailed again to confirm. Crickets. Then I called and they told me they were so sorry but they could not make the cake in time. By now it is the day before my daughter's party. They offered me something off the shelf for $375. No thanks. What a waste of time. I rarely write such a negative review, but the way the was handled was infuriating. On their end they could have let me know they needed a finalized design earlier, or just followed my original color sketch /instructions so we confirmed design earlier in the week. Alternatively they could have offered some small concession. Instead they lost a customer because they showed me they didn't really care about my business. I was not a fan of the taste at all. You can taste an oily texture and zero creaminess. I guess I prefer more of the Whole Foods Chantilly cake taste. The kick itself was not fluffy. It was fairly tough in texture. I wish the buttercream they used was less oily/ bland and more creamy and sweet. Given it tasted below average, I would not order again. We are located in the Bay Area and have a majority of our employees remote across the states. Faith was very helpful from the very beginning! She provided different cookie box options, said they'd handle delivery to over 50 individual orders and the communication to porch delivery was so seamless for 75 of us!! it was a dreammm to have everything go so smoothly from 400+ miles away!!
