Wow, has it been almost 4 years since I've been to this lovely, beautiful, well organized, super clean bakery?? Yes, it has, and shame on me! Walked in yesterday mid-evening at 5:30 pm and was greeted by Anna with a pleasant, pretty smile. She was kind, helpful and very nice. This is an Armenian bakery run by a lot of nice, helpful employees. They sell a variety of baked goods and a few savory items. Ponchik, (the closest way to explain this food is a donut). Filled with custard, nutella, and I believe other flavors too. They have Lahmajune, (Armenian pizza), Perashki, (a long dough filled with Spinach, Potato, Mushrooms, Cheese). They also sell other types of pastries, beverages, candy, cake, chocolates, boreks, with different fillings. My favorite is the Cheese borek. Rolls too. With different fillings.. and so much more.. All I needed and was craving for was 4 of their fresh, delicious Ponchiks. They were nice enough to give me an extra one--free of charge. The smell of those Ponchiks transported me back to Armenia. It was fresh and very hot. Came straight from the fryer. Since I was going to have dinner next door, I didn't want to get full on sweets. For 4 Ponchiks I paid ($13.60). Their prices are very affordable according to the sizes of their delicious savory and sweet baked goods. If you pay with card, there is an extra $1.00 fee for processing. I paid cash. I stopped by at the recommendation from one of my Yelp friends that I should check out the Ponchiks here. I arrived and walked into the cute shop and was greeted by a very friendly staff. I asked a few questions and then I orderd the custard ponchik which she said would be ready in 15 min. While I waited I browsed the shop and I got a few other things I wanted to try such as the yogurt soda, more from curiosity than from a craving. I also picked up a box of Nazook. My Ponchik was ready quickly and I was able to use tap and pay and then I went on with my morning. I couldn't help it I started to eat my Ponchik on the drive, it was so fresh and piping hot, so fluffy, and the custard so thick and delicious. I am definitely a fan! I traveled two hours to reach this charming bakery nestled in the valley, and it was absolutely worth the journey. One thing I always point out is that many folks who post negative reviews about businesses often lack any credible track record to back them up. In contrast, all my reviews are completely transparent. As soon as I walked in, Anahit greeted me with a warm and friendly welcome. She recommended the potato perashki and beef options, which were spot-on. I also sampled the Nutella custard and Napollon each one was a delight. Finally decided to give this place to try. Everything looked beautiful and taste fresh and hot, but I felt like there was a little more pastry than filling. I ordered the Oreo and I think it would be even better with two Oreos. Overall, it was just OK for me. Not bad at all, and if you're looking for something sweet under $20, it's worth trying. Papillon is my favorite to go bakery for getting ponchicks( similar to donuts). They have a variety of them in different flavors. I noticed they have added a new flavor which is Dubai Chocolate. They have different kind of pastries and drinks to purchase. There is a table inside and I saw a table outside. In case you want to dine in, that's an option. Service was friendly. Lady who helped me was nice and friendly. Parking is easy. There are couple of parking spaces assigned to this bakery. There is street parking available too. If you're looking for modern not classic bakery goods, I would recommend visiting this bakery. P.S, there is extra charge for credit card. This place is such a gem, you can tell many locals come here too. I usually order before hand because the food takes about 10-15 minutes after you order, but that's how you know they make it fresh! I ordered lahmajun (Armenian pizza) and although it was cold, it was still good and I also got potato and mozzarella filled Piroshkis which were amazing, you eat it with the seasoning they give you (paprika and salt). The Ponchikis are SO worth the drive out. Theyre perfectly sweetened with endless options. They absolutely hit the spot when you have a crazy sweet tooth.. I do think the value could be better but they are made to order and the filling is SUPER generous. Even when ordering through a food delivery app, they make everything perfect and package it perfectly so you get it while it's hot! It's a very casual spot and parking is super limited but I suggest coming here when you're in the area. read more

This bakery sells desserts, sandwiches, and empanadas. The inside was clean and they displayed all of their items in a glass protected shelves. It was clean and well lit. I've been a loyal customer here for about three years, ordering almost every month, and I always get their Nutella and custard ponchiks through Uber Eats with no issues until now. Yesterday, I placed my usual order, but instead of Nutella and custard, I received ponchiks with Oreo, apricot, and other fillings I didn't order. I reported it to Uber, but because my photo wasn't perfectly clear, they claimed I was lying. Honestly, this is extremely disappointing, especially from a place I've supported for years. We ordered the khachapuri, and it was a big disappointment. The bread tasted old, soggy, and impossible to chew. It seemed like it was pre-made ahead of time, and they just added the eggs and cheese later. The dough was chewy, greasy, and felt like it had been fried. Update: just tried the lamajoon (Armenian pizza), it tastes like the meat is old, so there goes another $20 for that in the garbage. I know it isn't tasting right bc I've had their lamajoon before and it didn't taste like this. Very disappointed. Will not be returning here. Bread boat eggs are supposed to be runny. That's literally the whole point. I just got home picking up and the yolks are overcooked, hard as a rock, and they charged extra for jalapeños/chives, but didn't make it as ordered. If this were the first time this happened, I wouldn't make such a fuss. BUT for a $20 bread boat to be a total fail, it's disappointing. Not happy and probably won't return here after being a loyal customer. There's better bread boat (ajarski khachapuri) all over noho, that are more deserving of business. read more

Happy Mother's Day to all the hard working Mothers out there! So I was scrambling to figure out what to get for my church to contribute to our potluck and It struck me! PAPILLON! I love this place! Their pastries are sooooo good! I had it my first time a few years ago and ever since I've been hooked! I feel in love with the Cheese Perashki long ago but I wanted to have a variation of sorts so I got: Ten beef, ten potato and ten cheese. So I waited a bit to try the potato and beef because I already know how good the cheese was. I got the beef one and it did not disappoint! The flavor was bangin!!! I really enjoyed it! I didn't get to try the potato one because there were two left and I felt bad haha but I can only imagine it was delicious! The lady at the front helping me out was delightful and helpful! The store itself is small and unassuming outside but inside it was nice and quaint and the atmosphere was calm! I definitely will be coming to this place a lot for my Perashki fix! Had one of the worst experiences at the victory location . Picked up 15 lahmajus today and come to find out the meat is missing in certain spots on the tortilla bread. See the photos attached, They look soggy and scary to even consume. When we addressed the issue to them , their method of resolving this issue was , " we can offer you fresh perashkis on us " so we drove back the lahmajus to their store and Zara tried to get away with just giving us the perashkis without giving us a refund on the soggy hideous lamajus givin the fact that their perashkis are just a few bucks. Sticky floors, dusty counters, and omg the smell!! My hair and clothes smelled like old grease as I walked out of the place. Two stars for the large Mikado I got, it was tasty, but now I question how it was prepared. I love this place and come every so often to order ponchiks. Never had a problem until I was overcharged for the 12 ponchiks. She charged my card $54 for 12 ponchiks and for a sec I was like that's not right and she ignored me and then I asked for a receipt because it should've been $34 and she printed it out for me. I was so confused as to how that happened but she didn't speak English and I don't speak Armenian so finally she goes like "I give you cash and you go ok?" We just happened upon this Armenian bakery but after looking it up on yelp I had to pull over and try a few of their items! We love the ferro rocher ponchiks! They were so yummy and delicious. The Oreo dulce de leche churro is also really good too, though 3 of them is soo much! I wish they were available in single orders cause 1 of these will fill you up. I didn't realize it was also filled. The dulce de leche is so good. We also got the mixed meat and potato perashki which was also delicious. You can order online and pick it up which is great, we ended up ordering some on our way out of LA to share with friends and family. If I lived closer I would order a bunch for a party and bring them. Soo happy I got to try Armenian baked goods. read more

I have ordered Ponchiks for the family, myself and even my students in the past. Let me tell you no one has ever been disappointed. The Ponchiks are always delicious, warm and fresh!! I would say that the custard and raspberry Ponchiks are my favorite. They do have other kind such as Oreo, custard and Nutella. They have other pastries as well if you are not into that such as Churros and empanadas of different kinds. Their pastries are made when you order them so they are warm and fresh!! That means that there is a wait but I have never had to wait long. I usually place my order online or call ahead. Friday mornings they are busy so expect a wait. Parking at this location kinda sucks during the day but that is the reason I go in the evening.I have gone to the 2 Papillions in Glendale and they do have a better parking situation.
