What a gem. A vegan and gluten free gem. So many delicious baked options you will want to have one of everything. My good friends recommended this place and I needed some dessert for a gathering later - all vegan folk! They have a ton - conchas, turnovers, danishes, muffins, cookies, etc etc. I got a couple of items, a vegan chocolate babka roll, and an apple tart. Affordable for a treat and the service was helpful when my brain exploded - the bakers in the back gave me a warm greeting too! I saw they have tamales, so I got one of each to share: beans with green sauce, beans with red sauce, vegan cheese with jalapeños, and jackfruit with red sauce. Inside is small with no seating but that's ok - it's clean, well stocked, and smells so tasty! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

I promise you the vegan items went faster than the non vegan baked goods

We threw a charity event at my company that required vegan options and Toluca is the best place to get a variety of yummy treats! I promise you the vegan baked goods went faster than the non vegan options that my coworkers brought Anytime my friends drive by I beg them to stop and get me cookies or conchas because I don't live in the area but I promise it's worth it

Love this little Vegan bakery! Everything is wonderful from cherry pie to conchas you cannot go wrong! And wonderful Holiday gift boxes! They also have gluten free baked goods as well! Family owned and operated always helpful, friendly service as they serve the wonderful selection of baked goods that they proudly make in shop!

Tiramisu was not good. It tastes like artificial pecan flavor. It's nothing like Tiramisu. The cookies were not good. They were gluten free. The cookie was dense and heavy. The flavor was not recognizable.I've been gluten free for many years and I threw these in the trash. I also tried the apple pie. The filling was already sweet .The thick sugar on top was excessive. It was sickening sweet. Two bite was enough without the sugar. On a positive note they looked nice.

They made my cake dreams come true. We ordered their tres leches with strawberries and each slice was perfectly executed. I highly recommend this bakery.

I never should have gone here! I think to myself, yet my regrets are fleeting as I bite into the crisp flakey crust of the vegan gluten free guava (MF'ING GUAVA!!!) empanada. The crust juxtaposed a beautiful garnet colored smooth perfectly sweetened and flavored jelly of guava. These never make it home and to say I'm addicted is an understatement! The first step is to admit you have a problem, and each time I enter this place my spending here has only increased! My addiction started innocently enough as I drove by this place countless times. Then it escalated to well let's try one of their treats on my first encounter and I ended up buying two things the cornerstone culprit of my addiction the gf guava empanada and a concha. The next visit 2 gf guava empanadas and 2 of the savory empanadas! Now the third visit another gf guava empanada, a jackfruit tamale, and a slice of the gf gransito tres leches cake as I'm now plotting a birthday cake! I am in tears I can't stop and I'm weeping with joy at my what now seems weekly habit of acquiring a gf guava empanadas at one of the best brick and mortar vegan bakeries! The gentleman running the front is great with answering my questions and there's way too much to try out here as they have a pillowy soft brioche bread )that I'm avoiding eye contact with) and even challah bread loafs! There's cookies, tarts, and various varieties of the savory treats too! There's just so much to try and I don't think there's a Toluca Bakery Anonymous group yet so...it looks like I'm going to keep this addiction. LOL

I'm vegan and needed a cake for my birthday. Browsed a lot and contacted a couple places, Toluca Bakery was the most responsive, helpful and with good prices. My tiramisu cake was ready when they said it would, looked great and everyone at my party liked it!

I stumbled upon this incredible bakery while waiting for my cheeseburger from Jack's Burger stand out front. I grabbed a box of random pastries and absolutley loved each one. It wasn't until my next visit that I realized it's a Vegan bakery! Honestly, I couldn't even tell the difference! Delicious pastries and fantastic service. Highly recommend!!

Love this place! It's an all vegan Mexican bakery and I'm here for it! The have have a big selection of pan...my favorite is and has always has been is the piggy so I always get one of those. And no trip is complete without getting some fresh homemade tamales. Verdes are my absolute fav. This place is so good and authentic that my Tia's were surprised when I told them it's all vegan. Great, friendly service and a convenient parking lot to boot.

Ask the Community - Toluca Bakery

Is the price the same for vegan and gluten-free items?

Hi Chris , the vegan and gluten free section is more expensive than just the vegan section. Depending on what you get could be $1-3 difference

    Any gluten free pastries?

Yes, they have a whole dedicated area to gluten-free pastries. My fiancé is gluten-free and vegan and he had tons of options.

    Do you have roscas?

They do. They have an Instagram page that shows their different pastries.

    Do you have champurrado?

    Sorry we don’t serve champurrado

Do you have items that would be safe for a peanut allergy?

Do they make dairy-free birthday cakes?

Yes! This is an entirely vegan bakery.

Let's start with the Shrimp Ceviche. It was so outrageously fresh, vibrant, and delicious that I immediately ordered a second plate. A SECOND PLATE. And trust me, that never happens. Ever. This ceviche didn't just exceed expectations--it reset them completely. Then came the crispy dumplings. Golden, perfectly crisp, and paired with a dipping sauce so good I was tempted to ask for a bowl of it to take home. Absolute perfection. And the Asian Rice Noodle Salad? I honestly found myself closing my eyes between bites just so I could fully appreciate every flavor, texture, and fresh herb dancing around in that bowl. Our server described it as a deconstructed spring roll, and that description doesn't even begin to do it justice. The basil. The crunch. The brightness. The balance. OH. MY. GOODNESS. If you dine here, ordering all three of these dishes isn't a recommendation--it's a requirement. The only tragic part of this experience is that we don't live here. If this restaurant were within a three-hour radius of my home, I would be a regular. No question. I'd happily eat here every single week. Fresh. Fabulous. Fierce. Unforgettable. This place isn't just serving food--it's creating culinary joy. Run, don't walk!

Its also the main breakfast option for guests. Expect a 5-10 wait for breakfast. The adult and child buffet are actually very reasonable compared to the typical Hyatt or Marriott buffets. They tend to have the same stuff: scrambled eggs with cheese, spinach, and tomatoes, bacon, a thick chicken sausage, and roasted potatoes for the hot stuff. They have oatmeal, cereals, Chobani Yogurt, and assorted baked goods. My son's favorite of course are bananas, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Although the food doesn't change, its consistently good. 4 stars overall. For ala carte items, we tried Nutella-stuffed french toast, Avocado Toast, and an egg white scramble which turned out to be my wife's favorite. Super rich with healthy proteins and fats. For our three trips, we got the best service from Miko. The other two times the servers were less attentive and the kitchen got super backed up and we wound up taking some breakfast to go as lunch for a departing flight.

From my first call to restaurateur Eric to make a reservation earlier in the week, the experience was as warm and personable as can be. Within minutes of our arrival, we were greeted by co-restaurateur Antonio, and we instantly felt like family at the beautiful, private table they had thoughtfully reserved for us by the window. Our wonderful server, Jessica, made the night even brighter. We started with some Peach Puree Bellini Prosecco that was crisp, refreshing, and beyond amazing. The food arrived with impressive speed, but the quality was truly second to none. My wife absolutely loved the special of the night--a Tiger Shrimp and Asparagus Linguini--and my Angus Beef Bolognese with savory short rib ragu was easily the best I've ever had. Antonio and Jessica checked on us frequently, chatting about the day and the amazing history of the restaurant. This was NOT just a night out at a "restaurant." This was quite literally getting together with family and having the time of our lives. Prosecco Trattoria is not "just another place to eat"--it is now our favorite home away from home for artfully prepared food and drinks. Hehe I ordered the 4-cheese Ravioli in tomatoe sauce, and it's unlike any I've EVER had. It's about 5 inches in diameter, round+ mostly flat, and not too salty. Absolutely delicious! Jessica offered to sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top, the service! Unmatched. The Italian seasoning added to the tomatoe sauce, makes it sweeter, aromatic. If you're familiar with my reviews, I'm always searching for vegetarian options. For desert we had the Panna Cotta with wild berries. Excellent, yummy! And we kept it cozy, with mint hot tea. Which is always a go-to around the Xmas holidays. The decor is northern Italian elegance: hand painted art, crystal chandeliers, and white linens abound. Reminds me of when we hiked the hills of Tuscany. With the holiday touch of twinkle lights and fresh winter floral bouquets. It seems most locals frequent here: Are known by name, and had the front door held open for them if elderly. What sweet, kindness and local vibes.
