I love this place! Every time we go it's always the same, delicious, fast, and the price is great! They have the thin chips, (which I love), the salsa is amazing and the margarita's are the best! Being from Texas I've eatin' at my fair share of Mexican food restaurants and this place is hands down the best! I tend to judge a Mexican food restaurant by their salsa and margarita's and this place has them both down to an art! You don't even need to order the Top Shelf Margarita, the regular one will get the job done! I usually get the Chimichanga Jardin (beef), and it's delicious. They take a giant burrito then fry it, I can eat on it for 2 days it's so big. Last night I got the Pechuga Grantinada a la Parilla which is grilled chicken breast topped with melted Monterrey jack cheese, sauteed mushrooms, onions and bell peppers, and it was amazing! Again the portion was huge and I just had the left overs for lunch. The fajitas are great, the Chile Relleno is great, everything is great! And the service is exceptional. They have good chalupa's and beef enchilada's and the best Raspberry Swirl Margarita. If you get the big one, make sure you have a designated driver. They usually have fast service and are always busy so get there early. If they are busy, expect to wait awhile for your food. However, if you get that margarita not much will bother you. read more

Let me start off by saying this place was SO bad that I took the time to create a Yelp account and download Yelp app on my phone. Props to the buzz boy though, for our chips and salsa felt like they were bottomless. The server on the other hand, took time to take orders and bring food and drinks to 2 tables around as who have arrived afterwards, before taking our order. Later on, our iced teas (half empty) were refilled with water. That tasted delicious. Once I ordered, no questions were asked on the type of beans for either of the plates and the waiter walked off the second I said the name of the plate. We ordered a chicken fajita burrito and a spinach enchilada. The burrito was 80% beans, the spinach enchiladas were more like spinach in a tortilla barely covered in Velveeta instead of the promise land of tomatillo sauce and Monterrey cheese. Rice on both platters had peas and carrots in it, that looked awkwardly similar to Instant Veggie Rice by Knorr or something. Neither one of the dishes tasted remotely like Mexican cuisine nor did they match the menu's description. Not even worth a star, sorry, but I couldn't leave the rating blank. read more

Bland bland bland. Since moving to this area from DFW, I have been shocked to find that despite our fairly close-ish proximity to San Antonio the Mexican food around here (Cedar Park) is terrible. Jardin Corona was a huge disappointment. The first time we went, we thought it was just an off night. The second time we went, even my 9 year old complained that her food had no flavor. We even tried one of their sister restaurants and had the same problem. It was very underwhelming. I am not saying that I expect my Mexican food to be blazing hot, but when the salsa tastes like tomato sauce and the beef in the tacos just tastes like plain ground beef, that's a problem! I really like this place and have been a regular here for over eight years. I love the Fajitas A LA Mexicana and the Alambre Special. They make good Mexican Martinis also. I don't make it up this way too often, but my Cedar Park peeps highly recommend this place. On a recent visit with friends way up north we decided to to head to Jardin Corona. I had only previously been to the Pond Springs location and I vaguely remember it being good. We started out with the mandatory margaritas, very good and reasonably priced. The queso was also well above average. Everyone got the classics; enchiladas, tacos and chimichanga. I was feeling particularly upscale that evening so I tried the Shrimp en brocheta; jalapeno stuffed, bacon wrapped shrimp with an amazing charcoaled crust, fantastic! For $13.95 I thought they were extremely well priced, you get (6) what we call medium sized shrimp on the coast, but can reasonably be called jumbo this far inland. They rival the &17.95 version at a local upscale Tex-Mex eatery in town. Everyone seemed to really like their entrees. My only complaint about the whole experience was the horrid parking. Thankfully it was a weekday early evening. I can imagine this place is hell on the weekends. I am looking forward to my next visit. I am not sure if I could deviate from the shrimp en brocheta. read more

This place is not much on ambiance; it's pretty much a dive and there are often children working the door. But the food is good, portions are big, and the margaritas are delicious. I had the blanca enchiladas with chicken and they were a bit bland, though salsa helped them out. The queso appetizer was good and the chips were crispy. Hubs had the Hombre Platter (or something) and it was a huge kabob of shrimp, chicken and veggies that was delicious. Had a swirl margarita that was potent and delicious, and tres leches cake that wa awesome. The flan is truly homemade and was yummy. Great neighborhood find, we will be back when we want to splurge on cheesy goodness. read more

I am not really sure why this place gets such glowing reviews. Maybe I had set my hopes too high, but I was not impressed. Not even a little. The food was so bland. I like heat, and spice, this food was very lackluster. The salsa was so mild my 3 year old ate it. The rice was mushy and completely flavorless. I had to add salt to make it edible. I have never, in my life, added salt to anything at a Mexican restaurant. I wanted to give the place a fair shake so I tried a combo plate. The beef in the taco had a greenish tint, I kid you not. I hesitated before trying it, today I am wishing I had gone with my instinct not to eat it. I really wanted to like this place, but honestly, I was super disappointed. Pretty sure this was my second home growing up. The food here is awesome, and yes if you come at certain times of the day, the wait can take FOREVERRRR but it is so worth the wait everytime. The waiters and waitresses go above and beyond to make sure your dinner is prepared correctly & givin to you in a timely manner! Ther chips and salsa are delicious as well. We thought we would try this for dinner because our neighbors said it was good. We had to hunt down our waiter for refills, he would walk by our table and ignore us! The food was fast but not good. We had come to this location several years ago, but now that we moved right up the street we went to check it out this evening. I was craving a good cheesey queso flameado (sp?) type of dish and remembered they had a yummy version. Was not disappointed, got the Choriqueso and it was awesome! Super cheesey and good tasting salty chorizo mixed in. My husband enjoyed his in the homemade flour tortillas, I had mine on a few chips or right out of the bowl. We ordered entrees of the Charbroiled menu: the Carne Asada Jalisco Gratinada (me) which is fajita steak smothered in mushrooms, onions, and monterrey cheese. Perfect for the low carb option as long as you keep it out of those tempting tortillas. My husband had the non-cheese smothered version---Carne Asada--and loved it. Both come with guac, sour cream, and pico which is nice, so many places charge a premium to get a scoop of guac with your food. This was a TON of food. We took home half of the Choriqueso and half of each of our entrees, along with the tons of beans, tortillas, etc. on the side. All that food plus two beers was $42, tax included. This will feed us for at least two more meals of leftovers. Service was fast and pleasant. Will definitely go back now that we live so close. read more

Came here 2 weeks ago with my bf, we ordered a regular Mexican martini and like 3896 tacos! The Mexicana and al pastor were my favorites. The martinis had me pretty tipsy (drunk...I was drunk) when we left and the service was excellent. Our waitress (can't remember her name I was tipsy so there goes remembering certain things lol) was super sweet and attentive and made sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. My family gathered at Jardin Corona for my Big Sister's Birthday. It's close to their home and is apparently popular. We arrived shortly after noon and the place was very busy. I know the restaurants are limited in this area of Liberty Hill, but this place appears to have a good customer base. The smells from the kitchen are mouth watering of grilled chicken and fajita meats. We ordered a pitcher of 2 XX's and the chips and salsa were tasty. I had the "El Cowboy-Vaquero Plate." It consisted of a tostada covered in queso w/guac and lettuce, a cheese enchilada, a chicken enchilada, a beef fajita taco, rice and beans. Whoa! Too much food! I didn't finish my plate. In the word's of my nephew. "You are not a Vaquero!" due to leaving food on my plate.. Boo :( Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was worth it. We are buying a house in Cedar Park, so we have been trying a few places around town. We've been to Jardine Corona twice and I really like this place. First off, the carnitas are pork heaven! They give you a massive amount of food, and I have not been able to finish a plate yet. My fiancee said she enjoyed the enchiladas both times. The micheladas are good as well- not El Chile good, but still good. The Mexican Martinis are fairly potent and have a slight hint of olive juice like straight martinis. Service has always been friendly and quick, even if it has been crowded. Cons: house margaritas on the rocks are a bit sweet, salsa needs a bit more heat Pros: cheap, amount of food, large menu to choose from...carnitas!!!! I have been a big fan of this place and it's sister location on Pond Springs for many years. I have probably eaten at them about a dozen times, and have never had a bad experience. That being said, I would not recommend this place from a health standpoint, since almost every dish they serve is basically a big plate of carbs, swimming in cheese... not that that is always a bad thing. The only other negative thing I can say is that it is definitely a bit on the run down side. It has taken the hole in the wall thing a bit too far, and would benefit from a remodel, or at least a very thorough cleaning. The service is almost always good, with an army of attentive employees swarming around like angry fire ants, eager to refill your salsa bowl. The fare is classic Tex-Mex, with a huge menu. My two favs are the Fajita Burrito swimming in enchilada sauce, and the Steak Ranchero. The Steak Ranchero is probably as close to healthy as this place comes, even though it is covered in cheese and served with ample rice and beans. I also look forward to their salsa every time I dine there. It is extremely fresh, if not super spicy. I have even bought it by the pint for parties at our house. I also like their fried ice cream, although I have only saved room for it a couple times. The best thing about this place is the value. I took my wife and five year old daughter there for lunch today. We were seated immediately, and we all ate for under 30 bucks. Can't beat that. read more

I really wanted to like this place since most of the reviews were good. We were seated within 20 minutes on a busy Friday night. Drinks were expensive and just ok. Paying $13 for a Mexican martini that isn't really good seems ridiculous. My food was horrible. I ordered chicken flautas that had zero flavor with lots of fatty pieces inside. We go here almost twice/month after church. I have ordered a few items but the ones I've always liked most are the breakfast tacos and the omelets. The Mexican-style omelet is great and comes with really good homestyle potatoes. My friend always orders the Enchiladas Verdes and seems happy with those. I never feel qualified to review Tex-Mex type food, coming from Tucson, AZ and loving Sonora style Mexican food, but this place has a good selection even for those of us who are quite picky! read more

A friend that lives nearby took me here last week while I was visiting. He said he goes here all the time. At 6 pm on a Friday we had to take a number and wait about 5-10 minutes for a table. We started the evening off right with a top shelf frozen margarita, on my friend's recommendation. Basically, it was a frozen margarita in a large glass with top shelf tequila and Grand Marnier. One gave me a nice buzz. We didn't have a second, because we weren't trying to get hammered. It was an excellent drink, and the best thing was, 2 of them came to only $15. Where I live (south FL), it would be about that much for 1, considering top shelf ingredients. The food was very good, better than average. The chips and salsa were addictive. I had a combo plate with a steak soft taco, a chicken flauta, cheese enchilada, guac, rice and refried beans. Everything was great. The cheese they use is fantastic. Service was good. I won't mind returning on my next trip to the Austin-area. read more

Is this Jardin Corona related to the other one on Pond Spring Rd? The menu looks similar and the tortilla soup I ordered looks just as big. We came here after watching the hockey game and enjoyed the food a lot. The service was good and the food was delicious! We ordered a chicken dish smothered with gruyere cheese sauce (forgot the name) and I had the $4.99 big 'cup' of soup that comes with the side of salad and rice. The rice was the most unforgettable dish as I recalled. We also had a pitcher of top shelf margarita for $17, good enough to feed 2 glasses for the 4 of us. What a great deal! read more

The cheesy components that make up the Perchuga Jardin Corona seemed to falter this visit (velveeta-ish). The wait staff was not as attentive as in the past. Stopped in here with T and friends on our road trip as we passed through Austin. It was one of the few places open late on New Year's Eve, which was great for us! We were looking to eat somewhere that wasn't a corporate chain, had some good flavor, and Mexican was definitely high on the menu after driving through the Plains and the South. The place was pretty large, and very family friendly. Our server, Barbara, was chipper and offered a lot of advice about the menu. We settled for a round of margaritas which were superb and chips with really good salsa, maybe homemade? I got the carne guisada burrito which was smothered in deliciousness and definitely a fork and knife operation. Definitely hit the spot and prepared us for the late night bubbly. read more

This is the best mexican that I have found in Austin so far, but I've only lived here for a couple months. It's nice that it's right down the street from me too. The waitstaff has always been excellent and helpful. I've had a few different things, and I've enjoyed them all. I particularly enjoy their charbroiled section of the menu. If you enjoy spicy food, you have to try the green salsa they have. You just have to ask for it. It is the best salsa that I have ever had. It's the reason that I am giving them 5 stars.
