I've been bringing my son (the middle one) here for almost 3 years now. He was seeing Dr Abby but when he turned 18 they referred us to Dr Simpson. From my first phone call they have been amazing! My son is autistic but loves the dentist and is usually very well behaved at the dentist. But....anyone with a child on the spectrum knows they are unpredictable and their experience and the attitudes of the people who treat them make THE biggest determining factor on all future visits. Dr Simpson works very nicely with my son and is very patient with him. And let me tell you even though he does well with dental visits no matter what i'm freaking out with anxiety the whole drive there Lol...but just seeing him be so calm when we walk in puts me at ease. And btw his hygienist today...and just kick me because i completely forgot her name!!! Yes i feel so bad for that because she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! The sweetest and caring and gentle person...I guess i was so amazed at how perfect the whole visit went i just had a brain fart and didn't retain her name but you know who you are Thank U sooooo much!!! This is a pretty new location for them they used to be downtown in a cozy lil office. It's a beautiful office, clean and high tech everything. All the staff that i have encountered always has been super nice and treated us so good. I just felt the need to review them after this visit today and make sure they know just how much i appreciate them!! read more

Brimhall Dental has a beautiful new office and it's spotlessly clean and my experience is they always run on time. On a scale of 1-10 for a patient with dental anxiety, I have always been at about an 11. I had a filling done today and, of course, tensed up and Dr. Simpson talked me through everything he was doing. I can say 100% it was a painless non-stressful experience. My last visit, Dr. Simpson insisted that the majority of my fillings were bad and wanted to replace them. I trusted him and let him replace several fillings, but not all of them, as I will not be returning to Dr. Simpson for anymore work. My last appointment was a nightmare. The Dr. administered an anesthetic and then said I needed to wait a few minutes for the anasthetic take effect. I then waited around 45 minutes for him to return, enough time for the anasthetic to start to wear off. This lead to the Dr. having to readminister anasthetic mid way through drilling out old fillings, requiring me to have sit agian, waiting for the anasthesia to take effect. After drilling out several fillings, Dr. Simpson was going to give me new fillings. I opted for ceramic fillings. Dr. Simpson put too much ceramic filling material in and on my tooth and let it set up, requiring that he use the drill, brutally, for about 15 minutes to remove the excess ceramic material just to make my tooth a normal shape. My visit was one of worst dental experiences I have had. I scheduled the appointment with more than enough time, but was late to get my son from school, despite letting them know at the beginning of the appointment that I had to pickeck him up. A few months after the visit, I HAD A FILLING FALL OUT THAT DR. SIMPSON HAD DONE. I set up an appointment to try and get the gaping hole from the lost filling fixed. I ended up getting called into work, and had to reschedule. I called to do this the day before my appointment and was told that I would be charged a $50 penalty for canceling 20 hours before, and not 24 hours. I explained that the appointment was to correct the Dr's poor work and that I would gladly reschedule, but was not going to pay the $50. Dr. Simpsons office staff was indifferent to the situation and charged me anyways. read more

My experience differs from others, but I'll state up front I never made it in to see the dentist. I took a day off work, which is expensive for me. When I got there I discovered they cancelled my appointment without letting me know! They said they left a voice mail message asking to confirm, but I never got it. I had spoken on the phone, & there was no mention of this policy. I received a text message inquiry for my email, no mention of this policy. No attempt was made to text or email me to let me know of the cancellation, even tho they knew text message was a viable way to reach me, and I had just given them my email. The staff that I dealt with was neither friendly nor courteous, and I did NOT feel welcome. In the unlikely event I return, I will update with a new review. But I'm inclined to seek out a more user friendly venue at this point. read more

I first found Dr. Simpson when I was having a lot of sensitivity issues in one of my teeth. I was looking to see who my insurance would accept, when a friend of a friend suggested Dr. Simpson. Luckily he was on the list of acceptable dentists. I called and talked to Michelle. She was very friendly and helpful. But more than that she was willing to go the extra mile. I needed a root canal and Michelle set everything up for me with the Endodontist. Dr. Simpson is a bit dry, but friendly enough I guess. But more importantly I think he is very knowledgeable. He seems to know what he is talking about and his staff has several years of experience. I don't think there is anyone who works there with less than 20 yrs. experience in the dental field. Except maybe the Dr. himself. I would recommend Dr. Simpson as well as his staff. I will be going back soon for more work. read more

I have never experienced a dentist like Dr Simpson! I had a root canal and crown. I experienced no pain whatsoever and it took less time than other root canals performed by other dentist. I am very pleased with Dr Simpson's work! I would definitely recommend him to everyone. read more

My experience at Dr Simpsons office was amazing. Chrissy did an great job on my cleanings, Kim was as gentle as she could be with my x-rays which I truly appreciated. The girls at the front desk are friendly and professional. And Dr Simpson fixed my chipped front tooth and made it look good as new. I haven't been to the dentist in about four years. I recently qualified for dental insurance at my work, and considering I was long overdue for a check up, I decided it was time to find a dentist. My insurer (Humana) provides an online tool to search for dentists in my area and Dr Simpson happened to be very close to my residence. I researched him online and was impressed with the glowing reviews he received, so I decided to give him a try. I'm glad I did. His staff is so polite and professional. They never hesitated to answer my questions and never made me feel like a bother. The dental assistant and the dental hygienist were very thorough and explained everything they were doing as they were doing it, which I appreciated. Dr Simpson is a great dentist. He took his time with me, he was friendly, he explained everything and informed me of options. He has a very warm demeanor that unfortunately isn't present in all doctor's. I can say I was very pleased with how my appointment went. The office isn't a huge facility, and I'm thankful it isn't. The individualized attention is great. Since it's located downtown it's very easy to access from any corner of Bakersfield. I will be making Dr Simpson my primary dental care provider. read more

As a person who has always been nervous about the dentist, I went in getting 4 cavities and 4 wisdom teeth extracted and felt that they did everything in their power to make me feel comfortable. I was never in any pain. They asked multiple times throughout the procedure if I was ok. They explained everything to me through the whole procedure and at home care.
