I have always loved Delis and Corner Bakery type restaurants and Jason's Deli is always a fav Sandwich shop, but I'm finding the changes to the classics to be off putting. They no longer have French Onion Soup! My all time fav soup because of this restaurant! I would order that soup and California Club or baked potato. It's kinda lost its pizazz. Usually most folks go for the manager's special, which is a sandwich, chips, soup, and pickle which runs about $7.95. Some opt for the massive salad bar. BUT, its the soup that is looked over. I have eaten the chicken chilli, broccoli cheese soup, seafood gumbo, and beef stew. All smashing!!!!!!! My fave is the gumbo. Only because I don't eat pork. This gumbo only features shrimp!! it is sooooo good and chunky. The bowl will run you about $5.95 but its a hefty portion. If you work downtown, this is centrally located and it's huge. OMG! A roach literally landed on my lap. I lost my you know what, and an employee killed it. I'm grateful for the assist. The manager came out a few minutes later with a book showing that they sprayed for bugs. Good to know- but not going to help me get over that trauma. I love Jason's Deli! And not just for the free soft serve ice cream. My favorite lunch is a tossup between the Managers Special - half Santa Fe chicken sandwich, cup of soup, and if I'm good, I'll get steamies (steamed veggies) instead of the chips; or I'll get the nutty mixed-up salad, lighter portion, which is still enough to fill me up. Everything at Jason's tastes fresh and I really appreciate their goal to try to serve healthy, fresh, antibiotic/hormone free, non-GMO whenever possible. The staff at the downtown Dallas location are unfailingly friendly. Get there before 11:30 on weekdays or there will be quite a line. And if you ever notice that the place is super busy with a line out the door and they only have one register open, please keep in mind that this is because they are trying to give people time to vacate tables so that you will have a place to sit once you are done ordering (and maybe to make sure they don't exceed their max occupancy). So don't get mad; just order online for pickup and eat your delicious Jason's food elsewhere. read more

I came to make a to go order today as I'm on the phone with work, and the entire staff is yelling at me about my order, I go to pick it up in the front & I'm having trouble finding it as there is 10 other orders & it shouldn't be my job, so the lady in the front (wears glasses & is very heavy looking) tells me next time I need to pay attention, grabs my order & throws it at me and proceeds to argue with me. This downtown location is understandably huge. There is lots of seating, including a bar stool area near the windows - perfect for people watching. All the standard Jason's Deli fare is here. I got the salad bar which was fresh and well stocked. This locale is adequately staffed, so all areas were clean or in the process of being cleaned. It's right under $9 for the all you can eat salad bar. That's a good deal. It's a fast, easy lunch that keeps me on track with my health goals when I forget to bring my lunch. JD is not the yummiest salad bar I've ever had, but it is fresh , inexpensive, and the food looked clean; therefore, it has become one of my "fall back" spots. Great service! I live directly above this Jason's deli location therefore, I always carry out. Firstly, I rarely ever get put on hold when I call, even during their rush hour. They politely ask for my phone number, take my order, repeat it back to me, and give me a wait time (which is never more than 20 minutes). It's fast, easy, and no hassle. Second, they have yet to mess my order up!!! I have placed at least 15-20 orders here over the past two years and not a single one has been wrong! Not only have they been correct but they've all been great! The food quality is 10/10 at this location. The only issue I've ever had was one time the soup was a little too brothy for my taste. That type of consistency is unheard of in downtown. Lastly, my one and only issue is their hours. I completely understand why they are only open for breakfast and lunch, to cater to the business men and women. Open 7am- 3pm Mon- Fri. But it is really disappointing for the downtown residents, especially on weekends. :( I wish it could be more than just a weekday breakfast/ lunch option for me. read more

I have mixed feelings about Jason's deli. On one hand, I like the food. They have a great variety of sandwiches, and all the ones I've sampled have been great. But... Jason's Deli is a bit deceptive. The portion sizes are large, but still not large enough to quantify the huge calorie-price of almost all items on their menu. Think carefully, if the the lighter menu is advertising sandwiches with 500 calories, that means that many of the other sandwiches are 900 calories. So, just keep it in mind. Good-tasting sandwiches? Yes. Healthy meal? Not exactly. If you ate there every day for lunch, I'm sure you'd be investing in some elastic waistbands! read more

Jason's on Main has become my favorite lunch spot in downtown Dallas. Where else can you get (good) pasta, lots of different (not just deli-style) sandwiches, salads, and a free ice cream at the end of the meal? If you want to eat light, have a chicken wrap or the salad bar. If you're feeling a bit hungrier, try the Chicken Milano or Chicken Alfredo, both just $7.29 plus tax. Also noteworthy are the po'boys and the breakfast food. And somewhat of a secret is the Monin chocolate syrup that is put out by the soft serve ice cream machine... This stuff is unreal!! Make sure to make your cone a mess with some of this syrup - it's the best chocolate syrup I've had! Obviously, this place is not your gourmet paradise. It is, however, friendly, cheap, and fast. This maybe an unfair comparison, but Jason's Deli or Convention food, but those were the options so my star rating may be a bit bias. Since the Adolphus Hotel was within walking distance from the Convention center and Jason's Deli is right behind it; it was a very convenient choice. Day one I brought in a few box lunches of turkey sandwiches. Inside comes with everything including a fruit cup and cookie. Everything still tasted fresh and yummy even though is sat around for a few hours. Day two we brought in the Fuchsia sandwich platter. Turkey and Ham, both were delicious. I was a little upset that my food took so long because of the steamed veggies but I wasn't upset about that it was that nobody came and told me prior to what was taking it so long. Went there because colleagues wanted to go so was my second time there. Was crowded during lunch time as waited for about twenty minutes which was fast for lunch hour and we expected that. Servers and front counter folks explained the menu item I inquired about without rushing me. Ordered Very Special VeraCruz. It was a sandwich / burger with green chilies and grilled chicken pieces. Chicken was cut in to smaller pieces but man was it good. I stay away from new items and I told my colleague who wanted to go to Jason's that he just made the day. This is a new items according to the guy who took my order and can use bacon instead of chicken so not just chicken all the way!!! Once we were seated, one of the servers kept checking with us and made sure that another one of my colleague got her strawberry short cake.
