    Salad with a sweet tea

First off I would like to say that I have been to Jason's Deli many of times and that should say enough for my review. But I will add a little more by saying food is always hot and my favorite the salad bar is always fresh and ready to go. This last time I was in little just for a minute or two and once they took my order they told me they weren't going to charge me for my drink. Told them they did not have to do that cause I was only waiting for a minute or two but they didn't it anyway and it was appreciated.

We popped in on Sunday around lunchtime. We both ordered salad bar and my husband got a drink and chicken chili in a cup. I got water. Price for salad is $8.29. We went to the end of the line and they hand you a bowl that holds about 6 ounces. Now everytime I go where this a salad bar I am handws a plate. I asked for a plate and it seemed to be a really big deal. They gave it to me but I could tell they weren't happy about. They did advise me there were plates on the salad bar. You know the ones at the end the size of a saucer you can put the little cornbread muffins on. I also thought I ordered the AYCE but I'm not sure where you would get a second plate. Cottage cheese was cold which makes me happy but Jason's deli get it together and give me a salad plate not a soup bowl. The best thing is the soft serve ice cream in vanilla, chocolate or swirl.

Jason's Deli is all around good. One thing that has changed is at this location your food is not delivered to your table anymore. Now you get a buzzer and go pick up your food. I'm cool with that. I got the sweet potato with spinach, avocado, turkey, cheese, and a jalapeño ranch. I've had this dish multiple times. It's warm, filling, and tasty.

One of my go-to lunch spots on a work day. I love the variety of the menu and I have never really gotten anything I didn't like. It is somewhat of a lunch time treat when I go because rarely do I make it out of there with out spending at least $10 on lunch. I usually call my orders in because the lunch time rush is a mad house. If you don't get there by 11:00 AM it's often hard to find seating and the line is long. My most recent visit was for a late lunch with my daughter. She had an eye appointment and we went afterwards. It was about 1:30 PM on a weekday. It's very different after the lunch time rush. I ordered gumbo and she ordered penne and meatballs. She loved the free ice cream. I always appreciate the fact there's free mini toast and mini corn bread muffins for my soup.

Second time I've found a hair in my food RIP my mac

Hair in my food... pretty disappointed and disgusted. Tbh this isn't the first time this has happened here.

Things are generally good here! We're out of vanilla ice cream but that's a 3rd world problem!!

We have been here twice in less than a week and I'm sure we will be regulars from here on out. First off, the sandwiches are top notch! Their meat is top quality, bread is fresh made, and their Cole slaw makes me want to choose every sandwich that features it. Even the slivers of purple onions are better than other delis. The employees are so friendly and they definitely make you feel at home. If you are in the area, you have to stop in. They close at 3pm, so don't wait too late.

When we got home, we realized they had swapped the breads on our sandwiches and put pepper jack on both. After switching the bread myself, I had to add my own tomato and onion because apparently no toppings are included or if they are they forgot to put them in the bag. The pumpernickel was also incredibly thin and the crust was thicker than the actual slice of bread. The chicken was stringy, had a strange texture, and honestly tasted like something you'd get in a hospital cafeteria. We also ordered the potato salad, which had one of the oddest flavors we've ever tasted, and the cucumber salad was anything but fresh. 2 bites of each and threw in the trash. The cucumber slices were wilted, soft, and tasted like they had been sitting for days. The only thing we actually enjoyed was the lemon bar. I honestly could have saved my money and made a much better sandwich at home. I don't understand the hype, and unfortunately, we won't be back.

Normally, I don't consider people from St. Louis to be credible deli evaluators, but I was desperate and made the hour drive to Grapevine. We got there at 11:15 and the line was nearly to the door. Within 30 minutes, it was well out into the street. That was a promising sign. The sandwich menu covered the entire wall over the counter. Lots of non-New-York sandwiches like Cubans, gyros, etc, but over in the left corner were the classic Ruebens and pastramis. I went for the latter. A REAL NY deli usually has a few soups like split pea and chicken noodle and matzoh. No soups. Bummer. They had a half dozen sides - 3 kinds of potato salads and a few slaws. I went with the German potato salad. The drink option was spartan - they tossed a styrofoam cup at me and pointed to the soda fountain. The pastrami sandwich was OK for Texas. A SUPER pastrami sandwich on hard rye can get me moaning like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally" -- only I don't have to fake it. The German potato salad was watery and bland - I should have gone with the mustard potato salad. Turnaround was on the slow side. Napkins = paper towel roll on table. Flimsy plasticware. The overall vibe was affordable utilitarian. I'll give the sandwich a 4, everything else a 3. Next time I'll drive the extra half hour to Cindi's.

The oldest sub shop in Texas is not a title you stumble into, and one visit makes it clear they've earned it. First, the parking situation, because someone has to say it. The spots up front are scarce and competitive. Don't give up, there's additional parking in the back with its own entrance. File that away before you go, or you'll spend ten minutes circling a strip that has not gotten larger since the 1970s. And speaking of the 1970s, the interior leans fully into its vintage identity. Small, dark, and unapologetically retro, it feels like a sub shop that missed the memo on modern restaurant design and decided it didn't care. Honestly, respect. Now, the subs. Galligaskin's cuts their own meat and cheese in house and bakes their rolls fresh daily, which is the kind of thing that sounds like marketing until you take a bite and realize it actually matters. The roast beef and cheese, loaded with toppings, is a proper sandwich. The house-made Galli Oil and pickled pepper finish that goes on every sub is the secret weapon - not spicy, just deeply flavorful, the thing that makes each bite a little better than the last. We also tried the burger, which came as a genuine surprise. A sub shop doing a burger well feels like it shouldn't work, but here we are, soft bun, flavorful patty, no notes. For sides, the Tater Tots are the undisputed champion of the table. Crispy shell, fluffy interior, the ideal tot. The fried okra was a strong runner-up, well breaded and served with ranch. The French fries, however, were a swing and a miss. They looked the part, golden, fresh cut, promising - and then arrived soggy. A limp fry is a tragedy in any zip code, and these were no exception. No one wants a sad potato. Order the tots. Skip the fries. You've been warned. Galligaskin's in the real deal, a Fort Worth original that's still earning its reputation one fresh-baked roll at a time. One last night: they're closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly. A cruel fact to discover in the parking lot.
