Popped in for a lunch with my bf on an errands trip. My bf is Jewish and we are big fans of Deli News up in Frisco, nearer to where we live. I got a #2 combo which had rye bread, Russian dressing, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, roast beef and turkey. It was decently good and the bread and deli meat and cheese was obviously fresh. Bf got the corned beef hash and devoured it. He expressed an interest in returning in the future to try other menu items. I personally drop a star because there's no option to make some sort of custom sandwich. I would've preferred roast beef on a different kind of bread with lettuce tomato mayo etc but that was not an option. Overall the vibe was very homey and local diner esque and the food felt high quality. We would recommend read more

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast after her 24 hour shift at the hospital. I ordered the scrambled eggs with chorizo , hash browns, and warm tortillas. The portions are huge the service was excellent. They do have a large deli, desserts you can purchase. We love this restaurant and will return soon. read more

First, I love a good deli and the wife loves good pancakes. You'll find both here. The hard salami Sandwich, and all the sandwiches, are ny deli huge! My chief issue is that a slice of cheese added is a buck fifty or so. The service is reasonable. Often even friendly! The atmosphere is deli crowded! Expect a wait at lunch. I think its prices are on the high side, but heck everything is in today's economy. If you're looking for great sandwiches and excellent pancakes, give this place a shot! read more

We walked in, I had read reviews about Cindi's . It does not disappoint. It has Manhattan Deli vibe for sure. Hostess and wait staff took care of us right away. Cindy's is our family's go-to spot for both dining in and takeout. The employees are always so friendly and courteous, and the food is consistently delicious. We're also big fans of their catering--the fruit platters are always beautiful. Their soups, bagels, egg salad, and tuna salad are some of our favorites. Great place to suggest friends meet for breakfast! Service is warm, friendly, helpful, and is reason to come back by itself! The food is EXCELLENT quality, well prepared, and the taste proved that! My chicken fried steak and eggs were really good! The German Pancakes were sinfully tart and sweet! of the 4 at the table, nothing but praise! I am very happy Cindys( any of her locations) is not closer to my home. I would be tempted to eat here daily. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with aplomb, everything that leaves the kitchen from Matzo Ball soup to Blintzes,Migas to New York Style Cheesecake,you can't go wrong. Unique little NYC style deli! Quickly seated and quickly served, ordered blueberry pancakes and crispy bacon and my Fiance ordered the waffle platter. The waitress suggested that I could order just 2 pancakes instead of the menu listing of 4, which I sincerely appreciated since I don't eat that much. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a party of about 10. The hostess was kind and honest in her time estimates. We waited approximately 30 minutes to be sat. A Dallas staple! I took a friend who was visiting here for breakfast and Cindi's hit the spot. This is the place to go when you're craving cozy comfort food. They have everything from Matzo ball soup, pastrami sandwiches, to pancakes and tacos. Service here was really quick, we were immediately greeted when we walked in and our food was on the table within 15 minutes. The pancakes were hot, fluffy, with the perfect amount of toppings. We came near the restaurant for a family Christmas photoshoot, but a good friend of mine recommended us this place we were going to "La Madeleine" is our favorite restaurant but we decided to give it a try to Cindi's everything was going well, until this couple came and started to complain about my baby making noises, so this lady came to us and told us to take out our son outside because he was disturbing the couple I didn't know Cindi's restaurant was NO kids friendly, basically she told us to leave I was not able To finish my meal neither my daughter Never coming back please don't bring kids because they might take you out!!!! read more

We had a craving for hash browns with over easy eggs and Cindy's did not disappoint! We ordered the 2 egg breakfast (over easy) with hash browns and a sesame bagel "to go". We also ordered the pancake breakfast with turkey sausage links and scrambled eggs. The meal was still really warm when we got it home and I just gave it a quick zap in the microwave and it was delicious! The five locations of Cindi's New York Deli and Bakery are rapidly becoming favorite hang outs for hungry folks in Dallas. One part New York neighborhood deli, one part coffee and pancake house straight out of the 50s and one part Southern mom and pop diner, the comfortable atmosphere envelops you. Toss in the cheerful touches of far-east color painted by well-known Vietnamese artist, Tri Minh Nguyen, and the interaction with friendly, courteous staff and you've got Cindi's! All over Dallas, families nosh on the bakery's near-famous bagels, Challah and rye bread, pastries and cheese blintzes. Shoppers from nearby malls drop in for energy boosting hamburgers, stews, stuffed cabbage and spaghetti to keep up their shopping pace. Late night revelers won't oversleep and miss breakfast - it's served all day long. Office workers come in for the lunch and dinner specials available every weekday. Party hosts and hostesses need not fret as Cindi's has party trays, catering items and custom cakes for their special bash. There's something for everyone at Cindi's!

History

Established in 1980.

So how did a shy, dainty Vietnamese woman end up owning a New York Deli, Restaurant & Bakery? Anh Vo, owner of Cindi's, is asked that question all the time. Her answer is simply, "Only in America!" Fleeing Vietnam in the seventies, Anh and her husband Hong, along with a 19-day-old baby, endured a frightening journey to the States in a small boat. When they arrived, they were virtually penniless and at a huge disadvantage, not being able to speak the English language or blend into the American culture. They were heart-broken to start off with, having left behind their beloved family and friends, risking not seeing them ever again. After struggling with numerous jobs, they ended up buying a small restaurant. As Anh had never really learned to cook in Vietnam, her first lessons in the kitchen came from the cook who worked for her. Chicken-fried steak and other Southern cooked specialties were the beginnings of her culinary career.

Meet the Business Owner: Anh V.

In the 1970's, Anh Vo and her husband Hong, along with their 19-day-old baby, fled Vietnam on a small boat in pursuit of a better life in America. When they arrived, they were virtually penniless and at a huge disadvantage, not being able to speak the English language or blend into the American culture. They were heart-broken to start off with, having left behind their beloved family and friends, risking not seeing them ever again. After struggling with numerous jobs, they ended up buying a small restaurant. Anh's first lessons in the kitchen came from the cook who worked for her. After a number of years of learning the restaurant business, Anh heard that the very popular and successful New York style deli, "Cindy's" on Central Expressway, had closed down. She leased the space, changed the spelling of the name to Cindi's, added several items to the menu and found herself totally accepted by her clientele. Five locations later, Cindi's NY Deli is still growing and thriving in DFW.

Our event coordinator had already been in contact with each hotel's sales team regarding room blocks, but my fiancé and I wanted to personally see the properties before recommending them to 30-40 hotel room blocks. Although we arrived after sales office hours, Liz at the front desk was exceptionally kind. She walked us through the restaurants commonly used for private events, explained the renovation timeline, and invited us to take our time exploring before returning to the front desk to view a standard guest room. Unfortunately, our experience changed when another employee, who later identified himself as Clayton, a manager, stepped in. It appeared he had been listening to our conversation but had not introduced himself. He abruptly informed us that we would not be able to view a room. We explained that our event coordinator was already working with the sales manager regarding room blocks and pricing, and that we were simply trying to ensure we felt confident recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Despite understanding the situation, he remained unwilling to accommodate the request. His only suggestion was that we purchase a room if we wanted to see one. For us, this interaction spoke volumes. Hospitality isn't just about beautiful rooms--it's about making potential guests feel welcomed and valued. If this was the experience we received as prospective clients considering multiple wedding events and dozens of room nights, it gave us pause about what our guests might experience. As a result, we will likely to move our room block, welcome dinner, Saturday event, and Sunday brunch where we're met with warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrive. The Joule is undeniably a beautiful property, but customer service plays a major role in our decision-making. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our business was neither appreciated nor wanted.

I think it's very good food but I prefer to go at "off" hours because I don't believe any place is worth waiting 20 or 30 minutes (especially for breakfast.)
