I love subs! Was anxious to try. I arrived at Jon's and upon entering I noticed that it did not smell like fresh baked bread or subs. It had the smell of old grease which I thought was a little off putting but needless to say, I decided to go ahead and give ut a shot, so ordered the Italian sub minus the pickles because I'm not a big fan of pickles on the Italian sub.. it looked great but as soon as I took a bite, the bread completely fell apart in the center and then I also noticed that the meat was very thick and I didn't love that .. I took a few more bites and didn't finish. Bread seemed stale didn't love the taste and it was very messy as a result of bread crumbling and falling apart so way to difficult to eat additionally some of the meat was tough with too much fat for my liking. Just didn't do it for me! Some may like though .. counter service was friendly so no complaints there .. sub was a bit over $9 for a 6 inch. read more

Ordered the grilled steak sandwich as a 12 inch. When looking at it wrapped up it looked like it was going to be great. Once opened you realize the meat does not stretch to the edges of the bread and there is not as much of a portion as you would want. Finally when you bite into it you can tell immediately that the food is not seasoned and seriously lacks flavor. read more

My son had a hankering for a Cuban sandwich and I didn't feel like driving out to Richardson, Carrollton or McKinney to pick up one from an actual Cuban restaurant so we stopped at Jon Smith Subs. We were warmly greeted by staff as soon as we walked in. We were given a brief explanation of the menu afterwards we placed our order. As expected my son ordered the Cuban sandwich with extra pickles, he opted for the combo that added either fries or a bag of chips and a drink, my son chose the fries. We sat in the dining area while waiting for our order. The dining area was very clean and spacious. After a short wait, our food was delivered to our table. When we were leaving the clerk held the door for us, which I thought was very nice. My son snacked on his fries on the way home and he commented about how fresh and hot the fries were. Once home he opened the sandwich and was happy to see the extra pickles he requested. The sandwich was a bit larger than the ones from other places. He said it was very tasty, his only gripe was the amount of mayonnaise, it was too much for him. Saw this new sandwich place and gave it a shot, man am I happy I did! We had the Gator and the Rueben, both great sandwich's! The Gator is HUGE! So much meat and flavor, and the bread is pillow soft. The Ruben was also great, much better than say a Jason's Deli or similar place. Highly recommend this place and it has some huge sandwiches! read more

Damn, that was good. Bread was soft and fresh, tons of veggies and meat, fresh ingredients--it was really good! And that oatmeal cookie was one of the best ones I've ever eaten outside of my g-ma's. I typically look for sub shops for a quick lunch, and this is definitely top three. The best part was the price. It's not any more than what you'd pay at the chain shops. I was driving home and saw that we had a new sub shop in the area. Went and picked up the hubs and came back. I ordered the Hot Cajun and fries. One thing that I liked about their fries are they are made to order. For that alone I would give them a 10 out of 10. The sub was just ok. It seemed like the Cajun seasoning was not fully absorbed into the meat. My husband ended up ordering the classic which is a variation of a cheesesteak in my opinion, and it was good from the little bit that I did taste. read more

Went back in to try to explain this to the cashier to see if they would redo the sandwich. And they told me they were unable to because there was no manager on duty. Ordered the Cajun Chicken and it literally had chicken only. No sauce, no onions, no peppers. Chicken and bread. I added mayo to try and help - but it didn't. Wife ordered the Gator and it came with no sauce. Very disappointing to pay $40 for incorrect items. This was delivery, so we couldn't do much. read more

Tried this place after seeing it recently opened. The staff were all friendly, and the French fries are pretty good. Unfortunately, the subs themselves were very bland and honestly kind of nasty. We tried the chicken bomb and the gator, and the meat quality for both sandwiches was really bad and they seemed like they skimped on the cheese and sauce. We've been multiple times and I feel it definitely warrants a review. We have tried the Reuben, the hot Cajun, and the teriyaki. Each time we've been it has been consistent with flavor, presentation, and service. The portions are great size for the price- it tends to be a lot of food. The inside is like a typical sandwich shop. However they do have TVs and it's very clean. The people working are extremely kind and friendly. I would highly recommend! read more

We ordered the Tuna Bomb and the Chicken Bomb for a pick up of 5:30PM-5:45PM. I got to the pick up right at 5:35PM, the staff was friendly and greeted me upon entry. Unfortunately when we got home by 5:55PM both our sandwiches were extremely soggy to where the bread deteriorated the second we tried to pick up the food. In return, this made the meat wet and inedible. We had to toss both sandwiches as opposed to going back to the store since we're located in Prosper and the shop is in Frisco. Disappointing since we've been waiting to try these subs for awhile. read more
