Whether you're looking for a healthy option or not, Jason's deli has something for everybody. The staff are quick to respond and very knowledgeable of items on their menu and can help you customize if needed. The staff is very cognizant of their store, keeping any tables with trash or messes cleaned up and to a minimum although I didn't try at this time the salad bar looks clean well kept and also has lots of items to choose from although the store was busy during the lunch rush the lines to get your order in were kept to a minimum.

How could you not enjoy Jason's Deli? Hot soup and sandwiches, cold and clean salad bar and free ice cream! Need I say more? There is 30 min free parking space on the north side of the building which comes in handy and it's equally easy to access off the downtown streetcar. The lunch staff are so sweet and helpful when they bring you your trays of yumminess & check on you. The patio tables are a nice touch on a great spring or fall day! Great place to meet a friend for lunch & ice cream!

I ate here with my coworkers for lunch. We got lucky and found parking like almost in front of this place. The location of this was on the first floor of a business building? Anyways, it was crowded around 12pm and there were no tables inside. There were outside tables but it was a chilly day. We ended up changing our orders to a to-go order and sat out in the food court area in the building Jason's Deli was in. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich ($6.79) and a fountain drink ($1.99). The sandwich came with a bag of chips. Also, there was free frozen yogurt. My coworker wanted me to get one with her and I did. If you want the frozen yogurt to reach the bottom of the cone, then you need to put the cone up closer to the nozzle and leave it there until it flows out. The Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich was pretty good and it's too bad I didn't take a better picture of it. All you see is the bread and that's it. lol Anyways, Jason's Deli was a good place to grab a sandwich and I'll have to try the other sandwiches like the California Club or the Chicago Club.

FREE ice cream cones with purchase! All you can handle of the vanilla, chocolate or if you're feeling frisky ... go for the twist. Any place that gives you free soft serve ice cream is 5 stars in my book. I've been going to a lot of JD's in a lot of cities. I like the lunch sammies and you don't see salad bars like that these days. The real reason I keep going back is the free cream de leche. Downtown patio tables right off the free streetcar. With the streetcar its quick easy access from the crown center and hospital hill area. No car required. Street 30 min parking is just as easy too. Busy crowd during weekday lunch but service is speedy.

As luck would have it, I had to run an errand near the area and my decision was made. First off, the entrance isn't where you'd think it would be. The order window was closed and I noticed people going up to the deck to get in, so up I headed. The place was actually spacious and comfortable, it has a Caribbean vibe to it. After much consternation, I figured I'd make it tough on them and opted for the Reuben. As some somebody who has had many Reubens at the place where they were invented, Omaha's Blackstone Hotel, I can be a tough judge. This is definitely the best place to get one in KC, so I know that I'll be back for more. I even liked the bread that they used, it set it apart from other sammiches. And the service was great, so I'll be back.

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. It's a true local spot, and I wouldn't mind giving it another chance to try something different from the menu.

It's an a super old building and I would classify it as a dive bar. Street parking is available. They do have bar seat, some indoor seating, and a fairly large outdoor patio area. Everything was clean and the service was excellent and everyone was friendly. They offer beer, wine, and soft drinks. I stuck with beer because they have Guinness on tap and I won't pass that up. Prices for drinks are extremely reasonable. The sandwiches are fantastic. I went with Bob's Italian sub: salami, ham, turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion, American and provolone cheese, dressing, on a steamed Italian roll. I opt for double the meat which made the sandwich a whopping 10 ounces. Did I need to double it? No, but I like a giant sandwich and I have no regrets. The sandwich itself was delicious, I liked the combination and I would definitely order it again and highly recommend it. With the double meat the price was $12.95. All of the prices were well under what you normally see and is a welcome reprieve from $20 burgers and sandwiches without sides. They offer regular deli type sides but I went for a bag of pickles because who doesn't love a bag of pickles? They have other sandwich options including vegetarian and build your own. Definitely worth stopping in to have a Sammy and a brew. I'll be going back for sure!

You seated yourself and there were a couple of people at the bar and maybe a few people at another table inside when we arrived. The woman from the bar took shortly after we sat down. I originally ordered the Muffaletta and was excited to try it since I moved here from NOLA a couple of years back but it's pre-made and the bread can't be toasted which is my preference so I changed to the KC Rueben which is $12.95 for the sandwich with no side. I chose not to add a side for extra cost. I also requested it with no 100O island dressing because I do not like it. It was good. The burnt ends were flavorful and I like that the slaw is vinegar based and not overly sweet. It can on tasted deli sz bread cut in half. I wasn't very hungry so I only ate half and saved the other half. It is not a great sandwich to save because it was not great as a leftover. Too squishy. There's not a large amount of burnt ends and with a small tip and tax (I just got water), I spent about $17. I think I will probably try something else next time. What really stood out right away was the service. The lady taking our orders was incredibly nice and personable, and she actually took the time to walk us through the menu to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I went with the #5, which is their version of a Sicilian Muffuletta. It was phenomenal. It's stacked with mortadella, salami, provolone, ham, and Swiss cheese, topped perfectly with a red wine vinaigrette chopped olive salad, all sitting on a beautifully toasted seeded loaf. One of my friends ordered the #20 Reuben, and it was a masterpiece. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu corned beef, legit sauerkraut from Brooklyn, house-made Russian dressing, and melty Swiss, all piled high between two buttery, toasted slices of marble rye bread. Naturally, I also grabbed a couple of their homemade chocolate chip cookies, and we got a raspberry and blueberry tiramisu that was absolutely terrific. You just can't leave a place like this without hitting the dessert menu! I consider myself very lucky to have experienced this spot. The options this place offers is appetizing. I really wanted 3 different sandwiches and finally settled on the Wagyu Nebraskan. The Dutch crunch bread is amazing! Now, this kind of bread is not for those with sensitive palates, meaning you might find it difficult to eat the crunchy top of the bread. You know, like when you eat dry crunchy cereal. But if you can take smaller bites, it's not as difficult to eat and it's so tasty! I'm a big fan. The meat was plentiful, the cheese was good, and the sauce was delicious. I enjoyed the sauerkraut as well. The sandwich just works really well together. I got a churro cookie and wow, that thing was amazing. I enjoyed every single bite and crumb of that big chewy delicious cookie. I need more cookie. And more sandwich. This place is yummy. And the location is just FUN!

This Bay Boy is a small window located inside The Commons which is connected to Cinderblock Brewery but, don't be fooled by its small stature it still carries the full menu of the West Plaza location. The one thing it boasts is you can grab a brew from with The Commons bar or from Cinderblock while your sandwich is crafted. And don't fret because these sandwiches are well worth any wait they may take! What makes Bay Boy utterly unforgettable is the Dutch crunch bread. This unique crackly slightly crunchy but still, oh so pillowy soft bread is the perfect vessel to hold all the fillings of any of the sandwiches on the extensive menu. My number one recommendation sadly is not always on the menu but if you catch it you better order it! It is called The Blue Blaze and it consists of juicy white meat turkey, peppery arugula, melty mild white cheddar and locally sourced spicy blueberry jam. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a kick. Another winner is the Wagyu Nebraskan if you want a bougie take on a Rueben. The Wagyu corned beef is locally sourced and is melt in your mouth paired with a slightly sweet kraut, nutty Swiss cheese and the tangy thousand island this sandwich is an elevated take on a classic. Another winner, well let's just face it any sandwich at Bay Boy is a winner winner chicken dinner (in the words of the iconic Guy Fieri), but let's focus on another rift of a classic sandwich the El Jefe. This is Bay Boy's take on a Cubano but unlike its predecessor the bread isn't flat or pressed it's on a Dutch crunch roll like every sandwich on the menu. The mojo pork is buttery and fatty- in a good way- making the meat so moist that combined with salty ham, melted Swiss and zingy briny pickles makes for a killer combination. Don't forget the mustard! And how Bay Boy makes it there own is with an addition of a zesty vibrant red pepper sauce. You can't help but to love El Jefe. I could go on and on about how each sandwich is unparalleled but, I'll just bore you with one more...The Bay Boy, I couldn't cover Bay Boy's without mentioning the sandwich that the restaurant was named after (or was it the other way around) anyways it doesn't matter. The Bay Boy is a cold sandwich (unlike the other ones I mentioned which are all toasty) which may sound simple but, the medley of flavors is paired down perfection. No pile of meats just stand alone Soppressata which shouldn't need any introduction because it's the superior salami. This sandwich gets sauced down with not one, not two but four sauces that make the sandwich anything but dry. Classic mayo and mustard are alongside a creamy pungent garlic sauce and a red pepper sauce, which is a mix of cherry and banana peppers. Then produce is added for freshness, think lettuce, tomato and zippy raw red onions (my personal favorite) with pickles of course! This truly is a sandwich masterpiece.
