Stopped in today to get a quick bite for lunch. And I will say this place exceeded my expectations and then some. The menu is even extensive and to my surprise there is also a salad bar inside. The salad bar had fresh produce and was well lit and well kept up. The staff here is friendly and efficient people actually seem like they enjoy working here. It's walking distance from power and light district and many other businesses nearby. The food was designed and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back here. Only reason I am giving a 4 star instead of 5 star is because I had received a dirty spoon with my food but it's okay I ended up using plastic ware. read more

We ordered lunch to be delivered from Jason's deli, I had no idea that it's a chain. I went with the corned beef reuben and I'm glad that I did (pastrami was also an option). It was a pretty big sandwich, big enough to have 1/2 for lunch and the other half for dinner later. The sandwich was awesome and I was pretty impressed that it stood up well to delivery, the bread still had a nice toast to it. I ordered it with a side salad which was what you'd expect. Whether you're looking for a healthy option or not, Jason's deli has something for everybody. The staff are quick to respond and very knowledgeable of items on their menu and can help you customize if needed. The staff is very cognizant of their store, keeping any tables with trash or messes cleaned up and to a minimum although I didn't try at this time the salad bar looks clean well kept and also has lots of items to choose from although the store was busy during the lunch rush the lines to get your order in were kept to a minimum. read more

Edgar Guzman, Manager, was super helpful from my email to him. Our group was coming in for the Triple Crown NIT Volleyball Tournament. I emailed him our 22 orders and he had the orders delivered to us on time. There were a few of the orders mislabeled with players' name but we were able to figure it out. Not a big deal. The food was tasty and a great value too. I hope we get to go back to KC for this tournament as we would love to order from Jason's Deli again and to work with Edgar. How could you not enjoy Jason's Deli? Hot soup and sandwiches, cold and clean salad bar and free ice cream! Need I say more? There is 30 min free parking space on the north side of the building which comes in handy and it's equally easy to access off the downtown streetcar. The lunch staff are so sweet and helpful when they bring you your trays of yumminess & check on you. The patio tables are a nice touch on a great spring or fall day! I've been a Jason's; Deli customer for years, but had not been in a long while until recently. Omgudness...really...it was soooo good & because I can sometimes be a creature of habit I ordered my favorite Reuben sandwich. It was just as I'd always remembered it....full of lucious juiciness in every bite with sauerkraut & cheese oozing inside. Unbelievably delicious. The jalapeño chips, pickle & walnut chocolate cake were a bonus. They also have a huge salad bar & lots of sandwiches to choose from with vegan options. I ate here with my coworkers for lunch. We got lucky and found parking like almost in front of this place. The location of this was on the first floor of a business building? Anyways, it was crowded around 12pm and there were no tables inside. There were outside tables but it was a chilly day. We ended up changing our orders to a to-go order and sat out in the food court area in the building Jason's Deli was in. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich ($6.79) and a fountain drink ($1.99). The sandwich came with a bag of chips. Also, there was free frozen yogurt. My coworker wanted me to get one with her and I did. If you want the frozen yogurt to reach the bottom of the cone, then you need to put the cone up closer to the nozzle and leave it there until it flows out. The Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich was pretty good and it's too bad I didn't take a better picture of it. All you see is the bread and that's it. lol Anyways, Jason's Deli was a good place to grab a sandwich and I'll have to try the other sandwiches like the California Club or the Chicago Club. read more

They often greet you when you walk in by name, they're always so nice and ready to help, and today was the pickle on my sandwich. I was blown away at the service I received from Ryan and his team. Jason's deli is not, by any means, a deli. The only thing that is deli-ish about this place is the enclosed food in their perfectly fingerprint-less cases. And if you are at all familiar with my reviews, then you will know that the containers/housing that contains food that I will eat should be pristine or I will scream " 1 Star rating here!" Most everyone has probably heard or even been to Jason's Deli. I find this an exceptional chain mostly because they offer a variety of delectables for any pallet. This time, I opted for the spinach and avocado wrap with fresh steamed veggies and a black currant tea. I was at this location around noon and it was super busy. The lines were out the door, so I was thinking, 'oh no this is going to move slower than my dad after dinner." I was moved through the line like lightening fast and the girl brought my food asap. The wrap was delicious. It contained one of my favorite cheeses and it was melted, yes, melted asiago! The guacamole/avocado was perfect. The steamed veggies were fresh and really steaming in their quaint white bowl. This is a fast and friendly place with everything from desserts to piled high meat sandwiches to healthier veggie lover options. I'm sold. read more

Mehhh! Just not a big fan of this place. Perhaps I got burned out when I was living in Tulsa, seeing as we did eat there just about everyday. I came to the conclusion, Jason's makes the same mistake as most little sandwich shops, they over do everything. Keep it simple guys and don't drowned my food in ANY sauce. This is a condiment not an ingredient, a little more veggies and a lot less sauce. Fear not Deli, I wont rule out completely. I will continue to visit your establishment from time to time either a) remember why I stopped coming there in the first place, or b) hopefully be pleasantly surprised. Jason's Deli is the perfect blend of badassery and economy for a Deli. I love a cheap sandwich and Jason's is reasonable when compared to other delis but when I account for the healthy options like adding avocado and hummus or quinoa on the salad bar, Jason's pushes ahead of many other deli shops. The Convenience is fantastic. They are in a large corporate building but close to an external door. There is a separate external counter for pickup and carry out traffic which allows for a peaceful dining experience inside the restaurant even during peak hours. You can also order online and pick up your food ready to go. Both of these are great logistical feats for a sandwich shop. The sandwich selection is mind boggling. It may be easier to not look at the menu and just make up your own sandwich; they will have whatever you want. Although you'll have to bring your own pickled red onions if that's your dig. The salad bar is a salad lover's dream. Mixed Quinoa, hummus, hard boiled eggs, potato salad, southern corn blend, and Caprese salad mix are some of the items that stick out to me. For 9 bucks you can get a salad box to go and fill up as much as you want on the salad bar. This can easily amount to 2 meals worth. Along with the box they give you a container for dressing and a side, which given the size of the salad box are both unnecessary. While the quinoa and hummus will probably be must haves any time I go the potato and pasta salad leave something to be desired. The yellow peppers are whole and when added to a sandwich are kinda wonky to eat, it usually turns into a all or none bite. I haven't tracked closely but I've felt my sandwich was missing a few requests before but given how awesome everything else is I don't consider this a sandwich crime. read more

I realize everyone is getting their routine down but when we ordered we just keep sitting and waiting on our food. I ordered the salad bar with an additional side of salmon.... big mistake. My son ordered the Santa Fe chicken sandwich and a brownie for desert. When our order came we had his sandwich and my salmon but not my salad bowl or his brownie. I had to go retrieve the rest of our order. Once I got my salad I tried the salmon and it was the worst piece of fish I have ever had. It was so fishy I could not eat it and almost spit it out. It was horrible. The salad bar was ok for a salad bar and my sons sandwich was just ok also. Was really expecting good things out of this place and was sorry to be disappointed. I just can't work up much excitement for Jason's Deli. This is the second time I've eaten their food and the first from this location. Our boss chose it for a vendor lunch because they deliver and they seem to have something for everyone. Those are the top selling points really. They do have a vegetarian selection. It's fine. Weirdly, all the salads come with meat although you can make them veggie by requesting no meat. I don't think they drop the price though. I had the spinach wrap with blue corn tortilla chips and salad. It was solid, if not super. I also ordered a cup of french onion soup. It was lukewarm and only so-so. Worse, there were several sides of soup in our group order and some of the containers leaked. Soggy lunch? Yuck. The cookies they offer are good. This is a fine option and hey, at least it's a place you can get some salad. I just never would voluntarily pick it as a first choice. read more

This is the best Jasons Deli around. They listen to what you want (sorry about my picky orders) and get it right every time. The girls at the register are friendly and are always smiling, even when the line is super long. This is the Jasons Deli others should model themselves after. Free ice cream never hurts either! My favorite is the turkey wrap and fruit! It helps that there is a walk up to-go line. Makes quick lunches during the week a breeze. They are not open on the weekends though. read more

This is convenient to downtown-lunch-folk who can walk to this location. I suspect there are places to park but I work close enough that I don't have to think about that. Similar to other Yelp comments, Jason's is not a typical deli. They have a huge selection of very creative and tasty sandwiches and salads. Also they have a salad bar so you can create your own, if that's your thang. I feel their salad concoctions are quite good if it's a catering situation. Also, I think their sandwiches are exceptionally good. Today I tried the Santa Fe Chicken which was toasted whole grain bread, sliced grilled chicken breast, cheese (of course), guacamole (yay!) and some sort of Russian dressing. I 86'd the bacon. Baked Lays chips and a pickle accompany. Very satisfying. In addition to the salads and salad bar I've had their Ranchero Wrap, the Turkey Mufaletta and a club sandwich on croissant. All very good. The only stinker to the Jason's downtown is that they definitely cater to the downtown lunch crowd who can easily arrive on foot or who are lucky enough to find a parking space. The reason I marked it with one less star is because when I ordered my Mesa Chicken salad, I told them it was for a gluten sensitive person (I actually have a life threatening allergy to any type of WHEAT). They delivered a chocolate chip cookie, which has WHEAT in it. It should have been a GF snickerdoodle. Also, I ordered a strawberry shortcake with a meal for the birthday girl and had to call them & tell them we didn't get it, so they had to make the driver come back out just for that. Soup was alright, not quite what I was expecting- was more like a chicken tortilla soup crossed with chili. Not bad but gave me heartburn. They have complimentary ice cream cones! It was alright. This is a hard one because I always love their food. Never had a time I didn't. But their service is below sub par. Anytime I order online, I come down 10 minutes later to it not even started. They also almost always forget my side. When I order FROM the counter they have messed up more order multiples as well. When I approach the counter it also almost always takes 2-5 minutes to be approached as I was watch workers sit around avoiding the register. This didn't happen today, BUT I ordered at the counter and asked the ETA. I was told a few minutes because "no one working was doing anything". So I went up to my office, made coffee, and came back down. To it STILL not being prepared. It makes me sad because they are always polite and the food it always great. It just puts me in a bad situation when I place these orders within my schedule to be able to still get to meetings on time only to have to wait and have cold food afterward. And I know I shouldn't depend on them for being on time to my meetings- but this is a 20-30min timeframe we're talking for a simple sandwich that I see them prepare after I ask and it takes less than 5 minutes. Will likely still come back as it's in my building and food is great, but some efficiency training with the staff could go a long way for sure. read more

I was pretty surprised to find this location inside the same building but not immediately next to Center City Food Gallery. It is pretty much in the same area being the bottom floor but it is a bit separated and hard to see (no identifiable marks until you get to the counter). I noticed a movable ad stand nearby and always assumed it was a Panera Bread or something because even the ads in the stand didn't clearly say what the business was (someone should hire a new graphic designer, ha). I walked up to place a to go order in their take out area outside the actual sit down restaurant. I was greeted by an employee who seemed slightly irritated by all customers. I said hello and smiled while I clearly grabbed a menu to look over the choices since it had been a while since I had been to a Jason's Deli. She looked straight ahead without making eye contact for several minutes while I was looking through the menu before she exclaimed very aggressively that she was going to go ahead and walk away and to call to her if I needed anything. I was kinda taken back by this but it wasn't a deal breaker, everyone has hard days. It wasn't slammed or anything but I am sure it was about to be soon. I placed my order and everything went pretty smoothly. The food was a bit over priced and took a little while longer than one would expect for being a cold sandwich and a premade soup but that is also not a big deal. The food here is delicious. I was 9 was ordering from here on a consistent basis at one time. It is not heavy and I don't feel like I've overeaten when I'm finished. The only issue I have is that the delivery minimum is 20 dollars. When you order lunch for yourself, you can't spend that much. I have to always find a person to order worth me. I think they should lower it. They're always fast and reliable, so that is a plus. I haven't been inside the actual restaurant, but I'm sure it's great. The food itself is reasonably priced. I've not once, twice or three -- but FOUR times been so disappointed by the service of the Jason's Deli in Downtown Kansas City. Not only am I irate that I gave this location SO many tries and wasted so much time waiting for my order I'm extremely irate at the attitude and professionalism of their staff and leadership. When I put in an order at 11AM and choose pickup "ASAP" option - I expect at the very least that when I get to the location at 1135 that I'm able to pick up and leave. Unfortunately I've had to wait 20 minutes extra to get my order once I arrive. That's almost an hour long to wait for ONE order. That's happened to me every. single. time. Every time I was fooled to give them the benefit of the doubt because maybe they were behind or rushing other orders. But 4 different times with the same issue is completely wrong. Today I finally just got fed up and didn't want to wait anymore and asked for my money back. The cashier was smug about me asking - grabbed a manager who said she was too busy and to ask someone else and when finally I had someone help get my money back - I didn't get an apology or an explanation. He wouldn't even look at me! Not to mention when I was getting a refund a lady who walked up and put in an order was called to get her food within 5-10 minutes. UNBELIEVABLE.
