Earlier today I had lunch at this Jasons Deli location. It was my first time dining at this upscale version of Subway and I had a strong craving for a sandwich that contained 100% real meat. Without further delay, here is my review: The Good: Dine in Service- The employee taking my order was very friendly and answered all of my questions Taste- I ordered the Ruben sandwich and had a pretty good taste. The Bad: Prices- My sandwich along with a bag of chips cost $9.40. That is way too expensive. Portion Size- The portion size does not justify the price of the meal. It was a decent portion size, but you could get a bigger sandwich/sub from a place like Str8 Out of Philly or Mojo's for a cheaper price. Takeout Service- Had takeout from this location a number of times and the guy who is usually behind the counter is pretty much incompetent, which is saying alot for someone working the register at a sandwich shop. He is often aloof, playing on his cell phone or on the computer while customers wait for him to hand them food they paid for. There was one experience where I witnessed a customer have to interrupt the employee while he was playing on his phone so she could receive her food. Overall- While the dine in employees of Jasons Deli showed great customer service and have good tasting food, the prices tend to be on the expensive size and I dont think that the portion sizes justify the need for high prices. In other words, good food, but I'll opt to go somewhere that I feel gives me my monies worth. I will also avoid all future take out experiences from this restaurant. TWO STARS. read more

I got the Papa Joe, one of the pricier sandwiches ($6.99), and was happy with the pesto-y flavor but a bit surprised by how small the sandwich was compared to the others that were being brought out to other patrons. So, I filled up on the free mini muffins, garlic toast, and of course wonderful complimentary froyo at the end of devouring my sandwich and accompanying chips. All in all, I like Jason's Deli in general but would advise them to beef up this sandwich or you to order something else if you have skipped breakfast. read more

Just got back from another satisfying experience @ my local Jason's deli. Service was fast and friendly and my food was perfect. I got the grilled chicken panini and a side of their organic vegetable soup which was especially good. Whenever I'm with friends and are thinking on a budget while indecisive, Jason's seems to frequently be the best answer. I even like their blueberry pomegranate sports drink on tap. I have yet to try the extensive salad bar, but by the looks of it tonight, it's only a matter of time. read more

I actually found out about this place from my sister. She use to go the Short Pump location and we use to there whenever we wanted something fresh. I had a better experience when I first went there some years ago. There's a Jason Deli up the street from where I work. We(employees/co-workers) have lunch there often when we first opened up the store. Every once in a blue moon, I have meals here. It can get kinda pricey for just a sandwich. I normally get the penne pasta for lunch. The best part of the Jason's Deli would have to be the salad bar. Large variety of fresh veggies. The free ice cream is nice too. Excellent salad bar with high quality items. The sandwiches maybe tad pricey for what you get with optional toppings but the portions are decent sized. Even with sandwich order, you can still indulge some of the items at the salad bar as well as the soft-serve cone. It gets pretty busy here during weekday lunch time and sometimes the tables are slow to be bused but for most part, the place is kept pretty clean and the salad bar items refilled promptly. read more

Since Covid, it's been hard to come across good customer service but I had the BEST customer service experience thanks to Dorsey. This was my first time eating at Jason's Deli and he was so helpful and fun. Honestly, every restaurant needs a Dorsey, especially during this time. Went for lunch Sat 2/20 after not having been there in many months. Our meals were to go. I was very disappointed when we got back home and discovered that the sandwich I ordered was about half the size that it used to be. The quality was still good but in the past 1/2 of my sandwich was leftover for dinner. Not today. Same is true for my husband's sandwich. And the price was at least 1.00 higher, which I would have been OK with if the size of the serving had been the same. read more

This place is good for a quick bite if you don't want to go to a drive thru fast food establishment and are willing to spend a few extra dollars on your meal. The prices are a little high compared to the quality in my opinion, but the service is good and the employees are friendly. They serve sandwiches, soups and salads. Maybe I have missed the spectacular signature sandwich/soup that sets them apart from other similar restaurants. The salad bar is a nice option, but a bit overpriced. They also have gluten-sensitive, vegetarian and organic salad and sandwich options as well. I will probably come back for a meal here. read more

I decided to try this place out during lunch one day and was quite surprised with the quality of the food. The Roasted Turkey Breast Muffaletta was outstanding. The toasted Muffaletta bread was perfect, and the olive mix spread was flavorful. The best part about the whole experience was the free ice cream for dessert. The food is always decent here (for a deli it's good) and the staff is usually friendly. I usually hit this place up if I'm nearby and don't want to eat fast food. Only 3 stars because I feel like they are shrinking their portions in the past year and it is kind of expensive (today we paid almost 20 bucks for 2 small sandwiches, a handful of chips each, and 2 sodas). I do like the free ice cream though (soft serve, choc and vanilla or swirl) that you can get after your meal. They also have a good salad bar. read more

We have ordered (online) delivery from this store several times over the last few months. We are fewer than 3 miles from the store, and it takes an hour or more for the order to arrive. The food is always cool when it arrives (I have to warm it in the microwave). At least 50% of the time we don't receive an order confirmation (by email) so we have to call to make sure our order is received. On one occasion, we waited 90 minutes (because it's not unusual NOT to receive confirmation) - on that occasion, our order had not been received d/t problems with "the computer." I like the food, it's convenient for a working couple with two children (and it's not pizza!), but I won't continue to order delivery from this store. UPDATE: updated from 1 to 3 stars - delivery is still slow, but consistently within the time stated by the store. Seems like they've gotten the email confirmation issue fixed. Delivery drivers are courteous and friendly. We will continue to use Jasons. read more

Consistently great. We (family of 6) have been eating there for almost three yrs. 3 vegetarians plus one who won't eat fowl, and two that won't eat red meat. Yet we always find plenty of variety! I've only had issues with takeout when phone hold times were excessive and order was not right. We avoid takeout but the dining experience is always great for a deli. Lots of soup and salad options and the free ice cream saves me about $20 in desserts each time, since there's no need for Sweet Frog up the street. read more

I like Jason's deli, but the service is spotty. Today I attempted to call in an order for pickup and the girl who answered the phone, "Thanks for calling Jason's Deli. Can you call again later we're a little busy right now.?" She didn't bother to ask why I was calling it offer to call back or... I can't remember ever calling a restaurant and being asked to call back later. I went to the website to try to find a way to report this more directly, but it appears that 'contact us' is not an option for this chain any more. read more

The staff was friendly. The sandwiches were good. There were a lot of choices. My husband and I shared a sandwich because it was so big. The ice cream that was offered for free was nice. I only wished that all three choices had been working since I really don't like chocolate but it was free. I will definitely go back to try some of the other items on the menu. read more

I am mostly a dinner customer as my two kids love Jason's Deli. I have been coming to this location for a while now, but in the past year, the service here has been top notch. The staff working at this location have gone out of their way to take care of us, without even being asked for anything. The food is great and typical if you have ever visited a Jason's Deli, but the service at this location has been so good that it left a huge impression. read more

This is by far the best deli on this side of town... which wouldn't be saying much cause lets face it, as a former deli worker myself the "art" is basically variations on bread meat cheese condiments bread.. and at most places the variation isn't all that varied from others of the kind. On this front, Jason's does a good job.. the ingredients are fresh, often organic if that sorta hype matters to you, and overall done up well. What always floors me, however, is the quantity of food you get for the price. For instance, I am a Reuben fan... and whenever I am at a deli, that is my go-to sandwich. The Reuben that Jason's serves up stacks well over an inch high JUST MEAT... I have been tempted to take a picture and carry it on my phone to show to other delis. I haven't, as you, as a rule, never provoke someone who makes your food, but the temptation is there just to show them how it can be done. Then there are the potatoes... do yourself a favor.. unless you are sharing, order the 1/2 a plain jane... which is itself a condradiction in terms... to use the word "plain" with this is somehow a head scratcher as the thing comes with cheese and butter by default (I say by default because I have had quality assurance issues with their potato before... sometimes it is just cheese and butter.. sometimes it arrives with bacon... chives... or sour cream... so if you don't like any of the above, make sure you tell them to leave it off). Then there is the term "1/2"... and this question I would love to direct at the staff of Jason's... 1/2 of WHAT?? If what is served is half of a single whole potato, it must take two people to roll the thing down to be cut. The only dissapointment here is the healthy orientation of the salad bar, which is my usual backup in case I want more bacon on my potato. Speaking of the salad bar... if meat isn't your thing, or you are trying to eat healthy, I highly recommend the salad bar. Not only does it feature fresh veggies, but it has a nice tasting hummus, usually a few pasta salads, cornbread and gingerbread muffins, and your normal selection of salad toppers, including a really good granola and trail mix. Do be warned, however, on several visits off peak hours I have noticed the tendency is for the buckets to be picked over... I have found low stock on most items and what is left is frozen or nearly so. Though this isn't a common place occurance, when it does happen I normally just give the line manager a heads up, and it is taken care of. Insider tip... if you are just getting the salad bar and there is a line at the first register, there is a special register down towards the drink station and salad bar that will ring you up. Free soft serve. What can I say.. it is free... it is soft serve.. and you can do cup or cone. Pure Bonus Level. The dining room can be packed on peak hours... my experience is that this is someplace the church crowd likes to go... evenings though tend to not be so bad, even Friday and Saturday. Temperature does tend to be a problem though, I have been both frozen and baked during my stays. If you want to stay out of the draft created by the front door being in a driect line with the open plan dining area, don't sit on the left side of the dining room near the windows... this puts you right in the draft of the two doors. Often I have found it is more stable on the right side closer to the register in the booths. Of course if they have the A/C blasting, location may only mitigate the misery. Grab the attention of the line manager or someone working a register and let them know. Overall.. a great deli... great tracts of food... lots of health conscious options including most veggies sporting the Organic label, a gluten free menu, and lighter portions.. and for what you are getting the price couldn't be much better. My favorites are of course the Reuben and variations thereof such as the Sailor, but also the Nutty Mixed-up Salad which features strawberries and a tasty balsamic dressing, the salad bar, and the Chicken Alfredo. If you want to challenge yourself, or are coming off having given up solid food for lent, I recommend the Reuben, 1/2 plain Jane, and a cup of Chili (for the potato of course). Just don't say I didn't warn you. read more

I am a receptionist & the company I work for has me order from Jason's a lot. It used to be our favorite place. Last week one of the guys in the office came to me and handed me a rock that he found in his soup. It wasn't a small one either, he bit into it and it wasn't too pleased with spitting out a rock. So I made a phone call to Jason's and spoke to a manager. I wasn't angry, just thought they should know to throw that batch away. The feedback I received was OUTRAGEOUS. He apologized and took off that meal and willingly told me a story about a past situation they had with the distributor of their soup. There was a time they found GLASS in their soup. I didn't ask for that information, he offered it up freely. Needless to say, this restaurant has been taken off of our catering list. To know they have found glass and rocks in their soup is completely unacceptable. It makes me wonder where they are buying their food. read more
