I was volunteering nearby and thought this would be an easy dinner. However, apparently they had a lot of To Go orders and we're backed up and I had to wait a little bit for my order. I just wanted a simple sandwich, but I did get some ice cream while I waited, which was nice. I got the New Yorker the smaller version. I appreciate you can get the lighter version. This Jason's Deli is 2 minutes from me. I have never been to Jason's Deli before and not too familiar with their offerings so I got a chicken Alfredo to go on this visit. They have a good salad bar though, something that may be worth returning. It wasn't too busy on this particular day, only a few dine-ins, and the place was quite quiet. The chicken Alfredo was okay. The Alfredo sauce was mildly creamy and rather light. May I say the lightest Alfredo sauce. It could have been more rich and creamier. The pasta was penne and not the traditional fettuccine pasta. They have a huge variety of choices whether you just get the salad bar, a sandwich, a sandwich with limited salad bar, etc. the food is fresh and healthy and you get ice cream. This Jason's is more spacious than some I've been to. It's easy to walk around without bumping into people. Tonight, however, I opted for the Jenny's Turkey-O sandwich. It's turkey piled high with jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and red onion on an everything seasoning bun. It comes with chips. It's really yummy. My kiddo ordered the kids macaroni and cheese. He loves it, though I don't think it's anything other than Kraft or Velveeta. They have free soft serve- vanilla, chocolate, or swirl. That's always fun. The restaurant has been updated a little, and there's plenty of seating. It's decently priced, and consistent. We have started revisiting recently, and I'm glad that some of the "rules" have loosened up. I thoroughly enjoy their salad bar, and prefer getting my own plates. This place is a favorite of my family. The sandwiches are great, salad bar is amazing, and my kids love the complimentary ice cream! Waited for about 30 minutes to get 2 meals while other patrons with 7+ people received their food. Had to go up and ask where the food was. Probably lost the ticket but no communication about it. Met extended family here for a post-holiday visit. It's a great spot to put together tables for a crowd. This location does seem to be a bit dated (but maybe that's because it's just a ghost town at Eton Square). I was surprised how many people were still utilizing the salad bar. I just don't feel comfortable doing that yet so I ordered the turkey wrap which was good. I ordered the fresh fruit for my side and it took me a while and a couple of dips of the wrap into the accompanying dip to realize it was for the fruit! Never been here before and decided to try it out and boy was it delicious! I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese was one of the best I've had! They definitely know what's up. They buttered the outside of the sandwich making the bread nice and flavorful and toasted! Exactly how it should be. And the cheese inside had two different types. Cheddar and American I believe. Melted perfectly ooey gooey. And the tornado soup was so so good too! So much flavor, cheese in it, and paired beautifully with the delicious grilled cheese sandwich. The thing I like about Jason's Deli is definitely their awesome salad bar. Over the years, their salad variety has changed but you'd most likely find something you like. As for me, I love everything from their fresh leafy of spring mix, romaine lettuces and spinach to refreshing cucumber, grape tomatoes, organic baby carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, beets, olive blend, Italian pasta salad, potato salad, roasted corn and black bean salad and don't forget that pepper hummus, and boiled eggs to satisfy my protein intake. Of course, it would hurt to top with some nuts, toasted sunflower seeds or croutons. I don't even need to add salad dressings. But if I do, I would use a bit of their Jalapeño ranch as a dip, so tasty. Rounded up my lunch with a cold soft serve ice-cream in this hot summer day is surely a welcome touch. This store is much more spacious and cleaner than the one on Cherry street. Their cleaning staffs are very prompt and hardworking. I do recommend this place. I've been to the other location more times than I can count, but can only remember one or two times that I've been to this location of Jason's. The building seems more basic whereas with the other one the building has some history and character to it. The layout on the inside is also different of course. There seems to be less seating at this location, but still enough. Maybe it's just because this one has only one main seating area where the other has two separate seating areas. Everything else is pretty much the same. As usual, I ordered the salad bar. They had all of the same options on the bar that I'm used to with the other location. It's all even pretty much set out in the same order! There was only one thing I noticed that I didn't recognize on the salad bar. Normally they'll have a label with some of their new or more odd items, but they didn't so I have no clue what it was! It was some kind of red pepper looking thing, but like it was in oil or something? I almost thought it looked like the insides of a green olive, but I think they were too big to be that so I just don't know. I would have tried it, but I pretty much like to keep to the same salad toppings each time (yeah, boring I know...). I'll have to see if this is a new item the next time I go to the Cherry Street location or if it's just something I've never noticed before, haha. I was secretly hopeful that this Jason's would still have the light ranch that I miss from back when this was an option not too long ago, but alas, it has been replaced with other salad dressings here too. I assume it's replacement is the jalapeño ranch, which is also good at least. I just wish I could still get light ranch!!!! Surely there's some room to squeeze it back into the salad bar buffet table, right? Right?!?!? :( This location is fairly clean and not too busy since it's probably more out of the way for more people. The staff is also nice, though of course you don't have too many interactions with them other than ordering your food basically. You can see that they are continuously working to keep the restaurant and salad bar in particular looking nice. Glad I could pop in to this location of Jason's for a change. What happened to Jason's? My wife and I used to enjoy coming here for great soups, sandwiches, salad bar and friendly staff and would have given five-star reviews, but the last two visits the food was terrible, and the staff working behind the counter were all cold and indifferent and could care less whether we were there or not. Lots of brown lettuce for salads. Saw several workers putting salad items back into the bins that had been spilled out onto the counter instead of wiping them off into the garbage, yuk! Was served at our booth a bowl of soup that had a young cockroach walk across the bowl, double yuk! Took it up to the counter to exchange and was then served a barely warm bowl of soup which we had to exchange again for a bowl of hot soup! At no time did anyone offer an apology for the soups. Oh, and the grilled cheese sandwich we ordered was just two pieces of toast with a paper-thin orange layer in the middle that you couldn't taste, so we guessed it was supposed to be the cheese. I ordered the salad bar with a side of chicken. I wanted to make sure I got enough protein with my dinner, and I wasn't sure what the salad bar would really offer. It turns out there were a lot of protein options in the form of whole eggs, quinoa, and a variety of nuts. If I had it to do over again, I probably would have skipped the chicken, because it's an extra $4 for 4 oz of chicken! That's a dollar an ounce...steep! The salad bar was very vast and fresh. Definitely enough on there to give you a variety and fill your plate and your tummy. They had a salad bar attendant that did a great job of keeping everything refreshed and clean as well. My lasting impression is that I would not wait another 9 years to go here. I just need to keep it in my mind that this restaurant is here and open. It's easy to drive by and not notice it. The food was decent, but the prices were a little steep for what you get. I suppose they have to accommodate for one of my pet peeves at a buffet...food wasters! You know the type.
