Ugh. I really wanted to like this bar, but it wasn't a great experience. We went for after theater drinks and snacks. It was a group of 5 of us who went around 9:30 PM after seeing Wicked. There were plenty of tables inside, so we didn't have a hard time getting a table. The wait staff is friendly. We ordered from their signature cocktail list. My hubby got the Second Chance and the server recommended the Pineapple Daquiri for me. My two friends got margaritas -- one plain, one mango. Off the bat, the drinks weren't great. I know we're in Manhattan, so prices are expected to be higher, but for $15 I would expect for these to have a bit of alcohol. Universally we all agreed all drinks tasted watered down. The margaritas had a chemical taste that made it seem like they used a mix instead of making it themselves. The second chance tasted overwhelmingly smokey and nothing else. We were highly disappointed and thus didn't order a second round. The food we ordered was also mixed in quality. The poutine fries were delicious (tho small), and we devoured that little cast iron pan of deliciousness in less than 10 mins lol. I recommend this!! We also got an order of 20 wings. The price was nice, but they were severely overcooked and dry. I guess we were hungry, so we ended up finishing the wings. Overall the service is quick, but the food and drink leaves something to be desired. Not likely to ce back here. read more

We came to this place to grab some drinks and food prior to seeing a Broadway show. They had a nice drink menu and large beer selection. My girlfriend and I tried 2 different IPA beers, and we enjoyed them both. Then, after reading such good reviews of the wings for this place, we ordered an order of wings (buffalo style). They were nice and crispy and delicious. Just the way I like my wings. They also came with some blue cheese dressing and carrots/celery on the side. The chicken meat itself was very tasty, too, and this is why the wings were so good. Great meat quality. After another round of beers, I decided to order a burger with sweet potato fries. I split this with my girlfriend, and we both enjoyed the burger, possibly even more than the wings. It was nice and juicy and melted in your mouth. The fries were amazing as well, as we ate them all. Love some good, sweet potato fries. Everything was very good here. And the prices were not too bad for the city. The atmosphere of the bar was nice and relaxed, too, as they did not rush us to leave. At the moment, Jasper's is temporarily closed. And it's very sad. The place had one of the best outdoor set ups for the pandemic. It was great for sports watching (they had plenty of outdoor TVs. Their outdoor set up was open, yet blocked you from the wind and elements. They could accommodate both groups up 2 and slightly larger groups of 4 or 6 if needed. Plexiglass was set up between the tables and the tables were nicely spaced. The staff were always wearing masks. They had the inside set up as well, but I didn't take advantage. I only saw it in passing on the way to the bathroom. The staff was super amazing and attentive. The service was quick. They did an amazing job when they were open. I've been there for midday drinks, "after work" drinks, and brunch during this whole thing. Jasper's is right down the street from me, so it was my local spot. They never disappointed. The food and drink: Beer - it's beer Spiked Apple Cider - amazing and perfect for those cooler days Pretzel bites - we delicious and came with a cheese sauce Fries - delicious and well seasoned Huervos Rancheros - made with tostadas, but so so good. It didn't get soggy, the chorizo was perfect, the egg was also well executed. I can see how my friend gets this every time even though there are a bunch of delicious sounding brunch dishes. At this point, I would also get this every time. It was so good and comes with a size of breakfast potatoes that were also super delicious. Bottomless mimosas - great service as our glass was never empty. TLDR: I'm sad their currently closed, but this place was amazing and made you feel like it wasn't a pandemic (except for the safety measures). I have now been to Jasper's probably 20+ times and am thrilled that they are open again! This is an absolute staple for bottomless brunch in HK. First off, they always have special mimosas like apple cider mimosas or mango mimosas if you're tired of OJ. They also have beer on the bottomless which I know can be a rarity. Second, the food and service are consistently great. I've ordered many things off their menu and have yet to be disappointed!! Automatic point in my book for still serving food after 11:30pm on a Tuesday. Had a one night layover in NYC, first time here, and looking for good local eats. Unfortunately the plane landed at 8pm and by the time we got from the airport, checked in to the hotel, quick change, then Uber to the subway, and subway to Manhattan it was going on 11pm. So finding food still open was tough. Lots of little hole in the wall pizza spots to choose from and I'm totally ok with that. Tried a couple as well just to knock "authentic New York pizza" off the list but we wanted a sit-down place as well. Service was fantastic, our server Jake was phenomenal, food was great. We just had a couple sharables: the quesadilla and (a Jasper favorite) the Dead Red Flatbread. The buffalo chicken on the flatbread is a little spicy so beware. Thank you! read more

Came here for dinner randomly one Saturday night. We were able to get seated instantly around 7:45ish. Great ambiance, but it is a bit loud so make sure to plan for that. Food: the food is good but would like to come back again to try some other items (will get to further down). We ordered (1) poutine (highly recommend, comes in a 6imch diameter skillet with fries beef brisket cheese and it is just delish. I don't think I have found a poutine better than this in the city.. definitely a the driver of most of the review) (2) dead red chicken flat bread (VERY SPICY.. so if you're a wimp like me maybe skip this and try something else. It has chicken and spicyness and came with Bleu cheese but I couldn't taste much over the spiciness but others who could still taste after it said it was good) (3) we got 20 regular wings.. (the holy mole and dead red - I only ate the holy mole which was good level of spiciness (or lack there of for crazy spicy people) . I felt the wings were a bit dry so probably wouldn't try again .. or maybe it was a bad batch? Things I would want to try in the future would include a lot of their shareables including the pretzle bites, guac, pickles.. there is a pretty big menu so good diversity for a group of people. There is also am extensive drink menu so definitely a good spot if you're not in the mood to eat. The service was very quick and the wait staff was constantly asking if we needed anything. Would definitely come here again very soon as it looks like they have a good brunch menu and good happy hour specials. read more

Came here with my brother for dinner after work & wanted to try something new in this area. We were seated right away and they had some great outdoor seating options. Our server was super attentive and very nice. We both ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sliders, the artichoke dip, and some fries. That was the largest helping of a side order of fries I've ever seen (& i mean that in a good way!), the sliders were flavorful and the fried chicken exceeded our expectations. My brother ordered a mango frozen margarita that he didn't love or hate but i ordered the Absolute Watermelon vodka frozé and it was the bomb. This place is decent for a quick lunch and drink! You're in midtown so prices are definitely high but they have a happy hour with daily beer specials and discounted wells and wines. For apps, we got the bacon wrapped poppers, fried pickles, and the smoked brisket poutine which were ALL delicious. The poppers were cooked perfect and the poutine had the perfect amount of meat with the fries and melted cheese. The fried pickles were also good but some salt on top would've complemented perfectly. I got the Baja fish tacos which had a good slaw but there was no sauce and the fish was just packaged fried fish. It had no flavor and was pretty dry. The avocado mousse was barely there. With some more seasoning and a sauce, this would be great. The presentation was perfect. I also got the habanero wings which were very tasty and crisped perfect. The side of fries was pretty expensive (7$) BUT definitely sizable enough to share among 2 people. My coworker got the kale and goat cheese salad which was a huge portion and she took half of it back to the office. The others got a variety of burgers and all found them to be tender and delicious. The Ay Caramba drink tasted good but it could've been presented better. If you're paying 12$ for a drink, it can at least have some garnish. The service was well but minus 1 star cus the waitress forgot 2 things so the whole team ate and finished, then when she realized she forgot to put in two items we got them 20 minutes later. It happens with big tables but maybe next time, run through all the orders so it doesn't happen. Overall though, nice gastropub and chill spot. I'd definitely return! read more

While I'm surprised that I never gave it a second glance on the many trips past this corner, Jasper's Taphouse + Kitchen was an interesting brunch spot in the heart of Hells Kitchen. Key requirements besides good grub were a welcoming atmosphere (especially in the heart of the gayborhood) and multiple TVs showing various Sunday football games and baseball playoffs. Jasper's delivered on all! While waiting for others to arrive we ran through a few Bloody Mary specials. Plus one for the accoutrements like pickled beans. Yum! Our server was super nice and always made sure our glasses were refilled (if we wanted). The food was traditional brunch fare for a gastropub, but also included a few more interesting items like Abbey Braised Pork Poutine. We shared a huge platter of Crispy Chicken Wings, half Bourbon BBQ and half Habanero. Both equally tasty but I loved the heat of the Habanero wings. The French fries were good too. My 1/2 pound burger with Dubliner cheese and added avocado was hugely delicious! Another side order of French fries was too much. I was stuffed and didn't even finish. Jasper's is a fun place to relax, pig out, drink and watch sports with the boys. We'll definitely come back to try other menu items like the Brussels & Bacon, Fried Pickle Chips and obviously their huge selection of craft beers. read more

Saw that this place opened so decided to give it a shot as I read it's owned by the people from Alfie's and I like that place okay. After visiting here, I like this place okay too. I kind of wish they'd tried to differentiate it a bit more from Alfie's though. There's a modest list of beers with good variety. A modest menu (which is good because I think that means they focus on doing a few things well). Service was friendly. There are some high top tables around the edges but the middle part of the floor is oddly kind of empty. Also ,no hooks on any of the tables or walls to hang a coat or bag. If you only offer stools to sit on, you need to give people a place to put a coat. One thing that was outstanding was the Abbey Braised Pork Poutine. The pork and the gravy were delicious. Two drawbacks: 1) they use big steak fries instead of regular french fries so there weren't that many; 2) very skimpy on the curds. That's my favorite part. It was nice and since it's new, I'll give it another shot. I'm not sure how it's differentiating itself from many similar places nearby (Alfies, Brickyard, House of Brews, etc) so it will be interesting to see what happens. But it was okay by me. read more

I was expecting somewhat of a buzz because that's a usual happy hour time. Maybe it wasn't busy because it's on a Tuesday. But anyways, the waiters was super sweet. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and my friend went with the jasper burger & curly fries. The food took a while to come out. When it finally arrived..omg delish!! It was clearly fresh and made to order. Even though we were rushing to a 7pm show. We savored every bite. We definitely plan to come back here. Five stars for the amazing craft beer selection (all drafts are domestics, and are changing constantly), and three stars for the OK food puts Jasper's at a perfect 4 in my book. The staff here are awesome, and are friendly in providing tastes of whatever you'd like before committing to a purchase. They have a sweet happy hour M-F till 8pm, so we scored ourselves some $5 drafts before our late volleyball game that same night. We came back here to eat, and unfortunately, their food doesn't nearly live up to the snuff as their brews. Fries were super salty, and the "warm pretzels with beer cheese" could have VERY easily been mistaken for a frozen/reheated soft pretzel with some cheapo cheese dip and a hint of parmesan cheese. Nearby Pony Bar definitely gets my vote for top notch food AND drink, but with the $5 happy hour special and plenty of great beers to choose from, Jasper's is still a worthy contender. read more

Happy hour M-F 5-8. If you want a table, I would suggest going there at 5. The last time I tried to come here on a Friday, it was at around 7 and the place was packed. Their HH drink specials are $5 well drinks, house wine, and about a few beers (which change every day, I believe). The food was just alright. I ordered the braised pork poutine. The pork was not good - it was kind of dry and just had this old taste to it. The cheese curds weren't really curds - more like globs of half melted cheese. While I don't think I'll be back for the food, I wouldn't mind coming back for some drinks. They have a huge selection of beer! read more

Always my go-to for bottomless brunch! Everything on their menu is fantastic! I just had their Cesar salad on the brunch menu and it was very delicious! Always must pair it with either bottomless mimosas, mango mimosas, Bloody Mary's or house lager! The staff is incredibly sweet and always make sure your cup is filled to the brim! Great find for lunch after spending the morning in Central Park. Decor is great, VERY clean and even fresh flowers. You can basically eat from the bathroom floor and THAT says a lot about a restaurant. I was surprised how empty it was but decided to give it a try. We ordered the turkey burger with egg add-on and chicken salad. My burger and fresh home made cut fries were amazing! Not a great selection of beers if you like lighter beer and watching your Girlish figure, however, for true brew lovers- you have tons of IPAs/Pilsners on tap. Service was friendly and attentive.
