So glad I stopped in this morning to Javi's! Excellent food... eggs, hash browns, bacon and pancake were all prepared perfectly. Compliments to the kitchen staff House made hot sauce was amazing as well. Service is friendly and fast. I'll definitely be back!
Always Friendly attentive staff. The coffee was rich and strong. I had the corned beef hash. Tons of corned beef, it was delicious. My friend had the chilaquiles and were tasty.
Yelp continues to steer me to great places that I would necessarily notice otherwise. This old Tastee Freeze has been turned into a good little restaurant. Scrupulously clean. Friendly, knowledge service. Food is generous and nicely presented. The gravy on the biscuits and gravy was flavorful, a little in the sweet spectrum for my taste but perfectly acceptable. Real biscuits. Fluffy scrambled eggs. The almond French toast special was beautiful. The star of the show was the bacon. Thick, lovely flavor. I will come back for the bacon alone.
Main course was amazing, the single side pancake had my mouth singing and at about 20$ for a meal this was a pretty solid breakfast for the price and it made me really happy. I think for a breakfast spot this is a great choice and the service was pretty standard (these people know how go work) the inside wasn't remarkable which I think is kind of a good sign because it doesnt feel overly gentrified? which I always appreciate. Go in and check it out if you're looking for a good way to start the day
So good! Parking is easy and accessible and the food was great! We got the Seattle Scramble and Tres Leches French Toast and both were 10/10. The staff were great; friendly and helpful. Such a cozy, small town, hole in the wall vibe.
What a treat! I think the word is out on this place, as it was packed this morning, but didn't have to wait more than a couple of minutes. The parking lot gets full and the spaces are angled for most of it, so I'd recommend entering from the side, not Sandy. Inside is very cute and I like the "fancy" ketchup on the tables. A very little thing, but I like that they bring actual cold water, so many places bring you a jug of room temp that's been just hanging out. The food is excellent, everything has something special and unexpected. We got the Denver omelette ($19.50), that came with hash and a pancake. Very solid. The clam chowder ($7), also good, but could use some salt. Herbaceous and thick, lots of clams and tender potatoes. The chicken fried steak side ($13), that one could use some work, more seasoning and gravy was a bit bland, but nothing some hot sauce can't help with. The other items being passed around looked incredible! And those drinks looked crazy good, next time. A not typical breakfast/lunch spot with high quality food and drinks with no line in Portland. That's probably all that needed to be said, :)
We found Javi's after catching an early flight to Portland. It's a small, family-owned, café located a short distance from PDX. It's not a large place but they have plenty of tables. Service was fast and friendly! Check em out! A few things to try: Mexican Omelette - Chorizo, onion, red bell pepper, jack cheese, chipotle crema and guacamole. Bloody Mary - Rose city Vodka with 2 hearty pieces of bacon.
Soooo good! We have eaten here multiple times and it's always a treat. Their gravy is excellent so biscuit or chicken fried steak really hits the spot. All fresh and wonderful
My dining companion and I had intended to go to Clyde's, a little further west down Sandy, but it didn't open until 1130 so we headed back to Javi's to give it a try. Hobbies is a fairly small little place, but it was bustling at 11 AM on a Thursday when we arrived. Just a few tables available and the sweet hostess made sure to get us one a little further away from the door since it was very cold out that day. The menu offered breakfast and lunch items, with specials written on their chalkboard. My companion opted for the chicken fajita sandwich special while I went for the number two breakfast on the seniors menu, two eggs, two bacon (or sausage) and a pancake - a perfect sized meal for my lighter appetite. The chicken fajita sandwich was huge and came with an abundance of tasty french fries. The chicken breast in the sandwich was well-prepared and it featured grilled onions and red bell peppers and lots of cheese (Jack?) on a toasted roll. The senior breakfast was delightful. The bacon strips were very tasty, and thick bacon. The pancake, while on the smaller side, was very good, and the eggs were scrambled perfectly. Overall, very delightful. The coffee was quite good as well. The service was perfect. There was always someone very nearby who could help us with whatever we needed. Great little place that seems to be a neighborhood favorite.
One of my favorite breakfast places now that has a diner vibe and classic breakfast/brunch options. I had the breakfast burrito and I loved it. Price wise it is a bit high but the taste, service was really good. Mexican hot chocolate was good too. They have a private parking space. I'll need back to try other menu items.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes I've ordered from Javi's. Today was no different. The Chilaquiles Verdes with Ribeye steak, was fabulous. The verde sauce had just the right amount of tang and bold flavors. The steak was prepared exactly to order. Topped with the house salsa, the chilaquiles ruled. The servers were all so friendly and attentive. Such a nice vibe in there as well. Love this neighborhood restaurant. Great job Javi's.
Had brunch here and it was very enjoyable. I had a meat lover's omelette with red potatoes. Excellent meal. We had a great waitress that was very helpful and pleasant. The restaurant is a bit small and it did get a little too warm but the place is clean.
Oh man I can't wait to come back here!!!! The staff is so welcoming and friendly, the food is freshly prepared and plated *just right*! The vibe is super chill and causal. GREAT parking lot to make it even more appetizing to come here! Try the churro waffles - they do not disappoint!
A Memory on Facebook brought us back here for the 2nd time, after the Transfiguration Mass. I wanted to sit by the window, on the Sandy Blvd side, and we got the seats, the minute we walked in the door. Our Hostess complimented my outfit, I told her we just got back from church. I told her, I just grabbed a top, left it open, to cover my shoulders, and showed it to her. She said: You're not in church now. She's right! I took it off, it is going to be 93 degrees (heat wave prediction), and made myself comfortable, as we tried out more from their menu. I picked the Grilled Tuna Salad (I've not had one before). I asked if the avocado goes inside or outside the sandwich. Inside, she said. I want to make sure, my avocado is fresh and green, no brown spots, so I asked to have that on the side. They were perfectly green & thinly sliced. I asked for tater tots, for my side choice. It was supposed to also come with Swiss Cheese. I love the food, and taking half for another meal. It was perfectly toasted! Hubby picked the Cheese Burger with added Bacon. Salad too. He thought they were both excellent. The house dressing that he ordered for the salad was a bit too spicy for his taste, and he asked for ranch dressing. I also asked for ranch dressing also, for my tater tots, and we're both happy then. We both have pickles on our sandwiches, on the side. Looking forward to bringing my church luncheon group here, 2027. read more

We showed up at ten to noon on a Sunday and I was shocked there was no wait. But it's probably because the service was so fast and efficient that they are able to turn over tables and serve more people. Daisy was our waiter and she came over pretty fast, she got the order right and all my modifications were executed perfectly, including my side of sour cream (which most places forget) my bf got a club sandwich and it looked amazing, and he said it was really good, I tried the fries and they were 10/10. I got the chilaquiles and I was a little disappointed they didn't have a huevos rancheros on the menu but my meal was good. They do have their own house hot sauce which was good, but if you like cholula, they also have that. I didn't get an orange juice but I saw another table did and it was a full glass, not one of those tiny little glasses. We got our food super fast as well! Also the bathroom was small but clean and had all the necessities: tp, soap, seat covers and paper towels. I got a pineapple mimosa and it was the perfect ratio of champagne and pineapple. They also had a great selection of spirits. Overall, if I lived closer I would come often! read more

One word: SOLID. Surprisingly, it's been hard to find a solid breakfast spot while in Portland -- but this place did the job and did it well. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The ambience is clean and simple, good music playing, and they even have outdoor seating -- definitely a vibe. To top it off, there's parking! Simple menu, fair prices. My wife got the chilaquiles with verde sauce and chicken tinga -- 5/5. Flavorful with a nice kick of spice, fresh chips, and perfectly cooked over-easy eggs. I went with the "meat lovers" omelette. At first glance it didn't look impressive, but the flavor proved otherwise -- perfectly portioned, nicely cooked veggies, and the hash browns were crisp and golden just right. If you're looking for a solid breakfast spot -- you've found it. I'm choosing Javi's over Kingsland any day I'm in Portland. If you want clean, simple, and flavorful food, Javi's is the move. read more

Javi's never disappoints!! This restaurant is definitely on the roster of our top breakfast places! The staff is always friendly, kind, and eager to serve you up some of the coolest and unheard of menu items!! It gets busy, but if you are in luck you can snag a seat right away. If not, it is totally worth the wait! I feel I must add in that these are LITERALLY THE BEST FRIES EVER SERVED AT ANY RESTAURANT IN OREGON/ WASHINGTON (probably the entire continent) !!!! I don't know what they do but I will cross the river any day of the week just to get some! read more
Came here with a healthy hankering for pancakes but the description of the Churro Waffle meal ($19) on the menu called to me so I abandoned my pancake dreams right away. We ordered the Churro waffle with scrambled eggs and sausage, the chorizo scramble and two coffees. About the food: I really REALLY enjoyed their chorizo scramble and the potatos that come with it. The potato's aren't overly seasoned and pair well with the chorizo scramble. I did not like how sweet the Churro Waffle was BUT that's probably on me and not the restaurant as churros are super sweet. This item is more churro than waffle, it's definitely a waffle shaped churro with a lot of cinnamon sugar not a churro flavored waffle ( as I assumed) so if that's not your jam try something else for sure. Personally, I'd put it in more of a dessert than breakfast category. I couldn't eat much of it due to all the sugar and the coating and the drizzle and the powdered sugar. That said, the sausage (x2) was large and the eggs were great! The Atmosphere:. What a wonderful thing to get seated right away for breakfast on Saturday morning in Portland. We tried two other places before here and weren't willing to wait 30-45 minutes. At Javi's we were seated right away and service was fast. They were busy but handled the brunch rush well. My family was visiting Portland and we were so excited to try this spot--we're total suckers for good Mexican food! We ordered a variety of chilaquiles, and they were all delicious. The only small downside was that a couple of the plates could've used more sauce, but the staff was super kind and quickly brought out extra for us. Problem solved! The omelet was massive and absolutely packed with chorizo--so flavorful and satisfying. Went to Javi's again. It's quickly become one of my favorite breakfast spots. The restaurant is kept clean and tidy. The service is impeccable and I always feel at home while I'm there. I ordered an omelet and the Dulce de Leche French toast. Both items came out hot and tasted delicious. Their menu had working apologizing for the minimal price increases due to the price of eggs. My cup of coffee was kept full, service was good, and the food, delicious! read more

The raspberry pancakes were sweet, and fluffy. 3 pancakes for the price is good! The bacon was amazing, thick and flavorful. The blueberry French toast was soooo good!! The red potatoes had onions and seasonings so they were flavorful too! The only reason it's not a 5/5 is because the service was a bit unorganized. read more
This cute spot in NE Portland has lots of options (vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free) for both breakfast and lunch. We visited on a Sunday morning and they were busy, but the servers were very attentive and the service was excellent. Based on suggestions on Yelp, I ordered the Ham Benedict. The eggs were done to perfection, the English muffin was toasted (as I requested) and the hollandaise sauce was smooth and creamy... the best Benedict I've had in quite a long time with a side of hash brown. The other item we ordered from the lunch menu, a Rueben sandwich, made with buttery toasted Rye Bread packed with fresh yummy corned beef, cheese and delicious sauce, with a cup of tomato soup on the side! They have a small parking lot, and there is plenty of parking on the streets around the place. This is a nice place for breakfast and lunch and their food quality and great service will bring us back again! read more
Just go and have an excellent meal! First timers today, and it was top notch delicious, and the service from all the servers was over the board friendly and on point. Ordered a breakfast burrito here (eggs, chorizo, potato, bacon) and it absolutely hit the spot. The burrito is huge (two of us shared it), so even though it was $16, it was well worth it. The salsa, though not spicy, has great flavor and makes the burrito taste even better. read more

Food was amazing. Everything made fresh and from scratch all the staff was super sweet. If you're looking for the best breakfast in Oregon come here. Drinks were also delicious. Highly recommend the flight. read more

I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. I ordered the chilaquiles verde with chorizo, and they were quite good -- crispy and flavorful, with a satisfying balance of texture and spice. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. However, my wife ordered the country eggs Benedict, and unfortunately, it missed the mark. The eggs were overcooked; instead of being poached, they were closer to hard-boiled, which really took away from the dish. Additionally, the accompanying potatoes lacked seasoning, making them rather bland. Overall, while my dish was average, the inconsistency in preparation and seasoning made for a somewhat disappointing experience. With some attention to detail, particularly with the eggs and sides, this place could be much better. The customer service was good ! We found Javis's on Yelp. Javi's is a short drive from PDX airport. First thing I noticed is that Javi's is very clean. Coffee was decent. Food was great! We enjoyed the Seafood Eggs Benedict and the Veggie Omelette. Portions were super- generous. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. read more
