The food here is delicious! The portions are also quite amazing and the prices are very reasonable. We arrived when they opened so we were the only customers for a little bit and received exceptional service. The place is clean and nicely decorated and gives a warm feeling that makes you just want to stay in chat even after you have finished eating.

It was a taco Tuesday, and they only had 2 people in the BOH, and 2 FOH employees when we got there. But the service was GREAT! The atmosphere was lively, and the restaurant clean. Their bar top was empty too. They had a massive party dining in, and a full house. But our food didn't take long at all! Prices are really good too! I ordered their Menudo, and it was SO FREAKING DELICIOUS!! My abuelita would be happy to eat it! We will 100% be back!

I've tried some different spots and I really enjoyed the ambiance of this one. Lots of seating a great quick service with a bar in the back, accessible bathrooms, and lots to choose on the menu. I ordered the shrimp and it was good. I also liked the beans and rice, nothing crazy. Our waitress was so kind and on top of things she really made the experience. Something to know is they don't normally split checks so be aware if you're in a group!

Came back as I was craving mexican. I saw taquitos on the menu and that sounded good, so I deduced to try it out. They were so crispy and had great flavor. I added some tapatio sauce on top of it and it was winners! Of course I ordered my usual beef chimichanga. It was delicious and massive as always. Take out was ready in 20min and the server was super friendly. Will come back next time the craving hits!

Good Mexican food is difficult to find on Oahu but Javis is solid! 4.5 stars We went on a Sunday afternoon and had low expectations given our experience with Mexican food in Hawaiʻi but we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros (bonus points for serving this all day and not just for breakfast!) my husband got the chimichanga and loved it, it was a very generous portion. My only complaint is the free chips were kind of stale and could use some salt, but also it's free so I appreciate that they are offered. If you like spicy ask for hot sauce because it's not spicy at all, at least what we ordered. Waitress was super sweet, food took about 10-15 minutes which is reasonable since it's made to order. Love the colorful ambiance and the seating area has so much more space than I expected. Plenty of parking in the outside lot. Will return when in Kaneohe.

Located at the old El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant in Kaneohe is Javis Mexican Grill on the way to Windward mall. I had the crispy taco plate I ordered 1 shredded and 1 ground beef taco with refried beans & rice. The taco came out nice and crispy and packed with beef, out of the 2 I preferred the shredded beef it had more flavor and texture. The refried beans and rice were okay. My wife had the mini quesadillas with our refried beans & rice and she enjoyed her meal. Parking in font of Restaurant and shared by other restaurants and shops and can get pretty limited parking spaces. Staff were friendly even though they were pretty busy. Ending our meal they left a charge card machine and didn't say anything, so after a while had to flag down the waitress and ask if they only do charges? She said oh let me check if they have cash and it took awhile before she came back and said we can take cash, she had enough to give us change. If you don't want to wait just charge it! Restroom are large and clean

By far one of the worst Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. Ceviche was horrible. Came out warm and I knew something was wrong with it and to be honest for them to even serve this and think it was okay blows my mind. I only took a few bites and still I had the worst stomachache I ever had before. The combo plate was okay and let's not even talk about the flan. The bottom was burnt and it was very airy unlike any I've ever had. All in all it was an alright experience paired okay service with a Mexican themed atmosphere inside. The best thing out of everything I ordered was probably the margarita but note that was still kinda bad but it tasted alright. I'd highly recommend to get the stronger margarita as the regular one tasted more like juice. I feel bad for leaving this review but I feel I have to let the people know because the reviews for here are very mix. Figure I'd update the people and let them know what to get and what to stay away from. If I could leave no stars I would only because of the sickness I received that lasted longer than a few days I want to say that I got from the ceviche.

Finally made it in after passing by so many times, and glad I did! The restaurant is spacious with nice decor, giving off a warm and inviting vibe. There were so many tempting options on the menu, but I went with the combo plate. Here's what we had: * Chips and salsa - Complimentary when dining in. We were starving and polished off 2-3 baskets before our food arrived! Fresh and addicting. * Carne a la Tampiqueña - Absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. * Combo plate (burrito + taco) - I chose a steak burrito and a carnitas taco. OMG, the carnitas were incredibly juicy and tender. The steak burrito was also packed with flavor. Overall, the food was fantastic, and the service was just as great. Definitely coming back whenever I'm on the Windward side!

Javi's Mexican Restaurant has officially made the move from Wahiawā to Kāneʻohe, and it is absolutely worth the drive. The food is everything I look for in authentic Mexican cuisine--fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and portions that leave you happily full. Every bite feels like being transported straight to the motherland. The new location has the same welcoming vibe, and the quality hasn't changed one bit save some room for dessert, if anything, it's even better. This is the kind of place you go out of your way for. Talk about hidden gem! In all the years I've been to Adela's, I bypassed Javi's, thinking it was just this tiny little takeout storefront. Maaaan was I so wrong. Walk in and veer to the right, you're transported to a hacienda. Dude, I felt like teleported south of the border. Horchata is served in a cute little pitcher. Fresh tortilla chips and pico de gallo. Husband and I shared a guacamole grande...it was chock full of avocado. Asada torta was tasty...only bummer was that it's served on a square ciabatta and not a bolillo...just as well, since we had two rounds of tortilla chips lol If you're craving comida Mexicana, this hits the spot!

Happy Taco Tuesday lunch in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii... Javis Mexican Grill took the place of El Mariachi in the strip of businesses behind Aloha Gas Station. It shares the same parking lot with Adela's Country Eatery, so it's sometimes very crowded. I arrived around opening time of 11am and was seated right away. Amber was the competent, efficient, and friendly server. She really hustled and took care of the entire room! I asked Amber about the Taco Tuesday specials. There's a separate menu with five types of street tacos for $2.60 each. I chose the Ground Beef, Shredded chicken, and Carnitas. Wow I was super surprised at the delicious flavors and textures! For example, I expected the chicken to be dry and bland, but it wasn't! The shredded chicken was soft and moist! The ground beef was okay in comparison to the Carnitas - it was an explosion of nastiness! Of course, the three tacos had some salsa and onions for toppings. It was a bit spicy for me, but i had a large horchata to wash everything down. It wasn't watered down nor too sweet, but just right! The complimentary chips and salsa were excellent also! I ate everything because the chips were light, crisp, fresh, and warm! I'm so glad that I finally tried this "new" restaurant. It changed management in the summer of 2024. If you're on the Windward side, check out this spacious Mexican restaurant with festive decorations and convenient restroom. The bar is very inviting, too! Note to self: try the taco salad, garlic Shrimp, taquitos, crab chimichanga, and adobada quesadillas next!

OMG greeted with smiles and warm welcome immediately after opening the door. A waitress took us to a table and asked if it was ok. We sat down and immediately got served water and fresh tortilla chips and the best EVER homemade salsa. I swear we had the most genuine waitress ever and her name was Calie (sp?) who was home from LV for the summer. The best of luck to you in your future endeavors. The food was on point. We ordered the chicken burrito with beans and rice and of course menudo which was perfect. The place was very clean even the restrooms. We went early because the parking is very limited. We will return.

Carne Asada Tacos with Rice and Beans

The service here was really good. When we arrived, there was only one other table seated. I don't remember our servers name but she was attentive, kind, and quick. Also, she picked the music, and it was great haha The decor of the restaurant was really nice with something different to look at everywhere yet it was cohesive and enjoyable. My husband and I both ordered carne asada tacos with soft corn tortillas with rice and beans. Our son, who is a VERY picky eater, had a side order of Spanish rice. Our son LOVED the rice and ate his entire plate. Not even a grain of rice was left haha. My husband and I enjoyed our food; however, we did feel it was a little bland. I ordered my tacos with extra cilantro (pictured) and also had to request lime on the side. Usually tacos are automatically served with lime so that was odd. I really enjoyed the rice and beans mixed together and I also finished my entire plate. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful decor of imitation plants that even the bathrooms were beautiful especially the women's bathroom by the kitchen. Even the Men's bathrooms were decorated. It's something you should see! You wouldn't even think there's a place like this in Kailua. There were a few steps to the door of the restaurant but as we exit the waitress let my mom through the back which had no stairs but a ramp leading to the side parking along the restaurant right side, since she was using a walker. I first came with my friend for dinner and I came with my mom for brunch after her dentist appointment, because I wanted to show her what became of the beloved Four Star Chop Suey decades ago. Brunch menu was not the usual breakfast items that we were used to, but I ordered what I thought she would like best. We had Breakfast Hash with potatoes, sausage, cheese, eggs, bell peppers but the sauce was a little spicy for mom. There were ingredients in the sauce which maybe was too much for mom. Citrus mint fruit salad, and Southern Chicken Biscuit and Gravy. The gravy was different.fitness good but, I preferred the dinner selection when I came with a friend who traveled all the way from Kapolei for some shared dishes and appetizers. She really liked it and it was flavorful and unique. We had the following dishes: Local Braised Oxtail Patatas Bravas Seared Poke nachos Seasonal Hummus Deconstructed Baklava Cheesecake Hiusemade breads Citrus mint fruit salad I would order everything again! The Oxtail was flavorful and delicious, The homemade breads were so warm and fresh. The breads were served with the seasonal hummus, and I love the citrus mint dressing on the fruits! So refreshing! Night time was busy and we didn't have reservations, so we were lucky we didn't have those high top table and chairs . Best to have reservations for dinner. Weekends have night entertainment in the bigger dining area. We came earlier, but as the night went on, it got busier and our waitress was also assisting other customers in the other room, so we were missed . Service could have been better. Not too many of my townie friends had made it to this side but it's a nice place to dine at to experience their food and beautiful ambiance! There were a few side parking stalls along the right wall of the restaurant, otherwise you would need to find street parking. There's a nearby 24 hour municipal parking lot and it's still a quarter of 20 minutes. This restaurant is not in the main Kailua town area. If you haven't been to Kailua, Kailua is a nice town to try all these different restaurants. You be surprised and pleased. They are closed on Monday & Tuesday. Brunch is on weekends from 9 am to 1 pm. Otherwise they open from Wednesday thru Sunday from 4pm to closing at 9pm and on Friday & Saturday nights they are opened til 11pm.

Both experiences were absolute culinary delights. It has been a long time since we've discovered another true destination restaurant in Hawaii, one that stands alongside favorites like Fête and a very select few others on the islands. In fact, Faria would fit seamlessly into the dining scenes of our favorite places--Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Tribeca, Soho, Paris--or even right at home. What sets Faria apart and places it in such elite company comes down to several things, all equally important. From the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, the genuine aloha spirit defines the experience. The floor staff move with an effortless grace, almost like a choreographed dance, and their knowledge of each dish feels as though they've cooked them themselves. The ambiance transports you directly to a charming Portuguese fishing village--warm, immaculate, and inviting. The owners, too, embody genuine hospitality: present but never overbearing, driven simply by their love for what they do. While we are not experts on Portuguese cuisine, we were instantly captivated by the depth and complexity of flavors layered throughout each dish. As wine educators and consultants, we especially appreciated the thoughtful wine selections, each pairing beautifully with the food. Our experience concluded perfectly with a memorable taste of a stunning Port wine. Over the course of our two visits, we enjoyed: * Bolinhos de Bacalhau // Cod + Potato Croquettes with lemon and herb mayo * Linguiça Assada // House linguica, served sizzling over a flame * Portuguese Bean Soup // A hearty blend of cabbage, sausage, smoked ham, and white beans * Granny Pereira's Piripiri Chicken // Whole roasted chicken leg with piripiri spice rub, lemon potatoes, and braised cabbage * Vinha D'alhos (Garlic Pork) // Braised pork with garlic, white wine, braised cabbage, and pão da lareira Each dish was prepared with obvious passion, precision, and respect for tradition, while still feeling vibrant and fresh. Absolutely blown away…read more This place was recommended to my partner and I by multiple people so we put in the reservation. Upon arrival, we were asked for a password (which he could not find in his emails hot fortunately they gave us grace lol) then let in. The place was simply lit and each table had a literal gas lamp lighting the space. On the second floor there was a man playing the sax. It was SO gorgeous, Our waitress was great, we were easily influenced by all her suggestions and ended up getting a great meal. We started with drinks. My partner didn't hear her say that the bottom of the menu was "spirit forward" and ordered a VERY strong drink. It actually made for a very giggly and eventful dinner so it was a very happy mistake lol. I got the espresso martini. It was a little creamier than I expected but still tasted really good! I'd order again. Our first appetizer was the Wagyu carpaccio- topped with cilantro (the menu said dill but I saw/ tasted none), fried capers, and caviar. It was surprisingly light and refreshing, basically a meat salad. A beautiful start to our meal. Our second (yes, second) appetizer was the escargot and bone marrow. This was our personal star of the show. A complete 180 to the carpaccio. This was rich, heavy, and decadent. The tomato added a nice balance of acidity to counteract the fatty bone marrow. The escargot was cooked perfectly, no chew but soft and buttery. One of the best bites of my life. The salad it came with was just we needed with it. After this, there was quite a wait until our main entree. A fire dancer came, and danced on the bar counter. I'd say we waited a good 20 minutes until it came out. But we were only impatient because we had plans after dinner. Our main course, which we shared, was the King Arthur- beef Wellington with a side of crab legs. The crab did come out during our appetizers which I appreciated. I only ordered this because I never had beef Wellington before and really wanted to try it LOL, my partner said it was better than the one at hella kitchen! The waitress also talked us into ordering a side of Mac and cheese, and thank GOD she did. It came out piping hot and saucy. There was a slight note of truffle, but it wasn't overpowering, and a nice crust of cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. You definitely get a bang for your buck. It's a hefty buck but it's so worth it.

It could have been a 5 stars experience if one of our servers didn't seem to rush things to clear up the tables. I also would say that the price for food is a little pricier for my liking for the taste. The food isn't exotic, but it did taste good and their bread and guava butter were my favorite part of my restaurant experience! If it wasn't for the service, I would've given the restaurant a 3/5. Despite the long line/wait, the staff was actually really interactive and proactive with the parties they were serving, which we really appreciated! It was a great first time at Haleiwa Joe's, but I'm not sure if it'll be a repeat for me! If you're in and want an amazing view for dinner though, this is great!

Take a screen break and relax in one of their cozy velvet seats (: . the Sheppards Pie is stuffed with lamb and served on a lipped plate - different from the expected bowl - but the pie was still just as rich, filling, and delicious. the Seared Ahi Sandwich comes with a hefty cut of ahi and thick cut house made fries. The chunky sweet ketchup was the surprising spotlight and made an impressionable difference. Apparently it's also made in house from scratch...cute! The cold brew (straight) effectively combatted the possible post lunch nap. A wise order considering my stroll back to work wouldn't be enough to battle the snooze. . Excellent service, excellent food, and am excited to return. Cheers!

Service was friendly and open to conversation. They have a bottle of Maker's Mark prominently displayed at the bar. The story with that is that they ordered a custom batch from the distillery. So they have a custom blend of Maker's Mark you can try. I didnt order it, but it seems interesting. The food was prepared well, everything came out crisp and contrasted with the other ingredients. The roasted steam bun was interesting, it make me think of gua Bao which has a lot of similar touches but not crispy pork belly like they do here. The chicken parmesean was good, but probably not their most notable dish. Interior seemes modern and relatovely compact. If you come here to host a gathering of more than ten, it may be better to book the venue altogether. The space is rectangular, and there isnt really a great sea ting for bigger groups to be together and engaged. The restaurant should be able to fit around 25 people.

They don't have parking so you have to find street parking. We went to go visit today, Wednesday. They open 8AM to 9PM everyday, and we got there around 10AM ish. Upon entering, you enter through the short wooden gate by sliding it lol. Was all confused because signs said "the Garden to your left, Boardroom to the right", so we kind of passed the entrance, going around the corner, and noticed that there wasn't another entrance on the other side, and that's when we figured the short wooden sliding gate was the entrance lol as you walk in, it's an outdoor establishment, lots of seats everywhere. With this yelp elite experience, we got to have a pizza and a dole whip. They have a menu posted up, and you order at the truck. They don't start serving pizza till 11, so we left cuz we was too early, and wanted to take advantage of our yelp perk, so went to go run errands and came back around 2PM ish. We got a pepperoni pizza, vanilla dole whip, and I ordered a maitai. Pizza was good. Dole whip was good, and Maitai was good. Everything was good! I loved that we got to make our way here to take advantage of my yelp elite perk because if wasn't for this yelp event, on any other normal day, we would just pass this place, not even knowing what this place has to offer! One thing about this place is that it's hotttt, if u go in the day. And for me, alcohol and hotness does not go together lol Since they open till 9, I would think it's probably cooler when sun is down. Love pet friendly places. We got to bring our jellybean with us. Cool spot to chill, have a few. Shout out to Eric for taking care of us. Awesome customer service. Only had him working all morning. Go check this place out. Don't forget to tip :)

The ordering counter and cashier is right as you enter along with thr pastry counter. Same deals with thr kapolei location you order and find your own table and put number so they can find you when your order is up. Inside is airconditioned with around maybe 10 tables and chairs some seat 2 others eat 4 and they also have outside patio seating back and front. The parking can be challenging having maybe 10 -12 spots in their lot and some street parking . Their Menu is a bit more limited than their other location. Sandwiches.. pizza and other stuff oh and coffee. The only thing that wasmt as good as their kapolei location was they didnt have the thin crispy salty cravable fries they only had small bags of chips available The food is always good and the service was real good. The staff gave you an impression where they really valued their customers with greetings with a smile and happy goodbyes. As always a great experience with a great casual setting..fair pricing (nothing is considered "cheap" nowdays) ..good food and friendly staff.
