I'm not a cycling enthusiast, but I come to Jax periodically because they are one of the few local places that carry GU Energy gels and they have the best variety of flavors that I have found in the area. The flavors containing caffeine give me a noticeable boost of energy for my other athletic activities and they are priced reasonably here. Jax used to be over in Fullerton near St. College and Chapman, but their new location here is nicer and more easily accessible. There is plenty of parking on the side of the building. I was here on a Saturday afternoon and they were well staffed. I have noticed they always have some younger adults working here which is always nice to see. They have a lot of bikes on display and also have a repair shop which always seems to have customers when I stop by. read more

I have used these folks in YL a few times over the years. I have no idea on what the cost for services compared to others these days. The last two services for us were "tune-ups" on normal type bikes and they seem to do a good job checking out our bikes that sat in a warehouse. Completion was on time and I got an email and text, which I like because I get too many phone calls and happy when I can just see a text. I feel bad for the others who had a bad experience, I will say I do like it when a manager or owners responds to problems. That should help with the next customer I would think. read more

A decent bicycle store with some flaws. I've been visiting this store for about 15 years, and I find the staff is generally in a rush to move on to the next customer, even when they aren't very busy. The bicycle selection isn't bad, but could be better. Accessories are somewhat limited, and the repair/tune-up section on the small side for a Jax. Parking can be a bit of a chore. They have a single lot with a single row of available spaces that are accessed from Yorba Linda Blvd. YLB can often move pretty fast, making ingress and egress mildly challenging. Worse, the driveway is a tad on the steep side. This shouldn't be any issue for someone with a regular car, but I am not that someone. I have a low-slung, high performance sports car, and speed bumps, slightly steep driveways, dips in the road all cause me a bit of trouble. All in all a strong store, but not the perfect bicycle store and not the best Jax I've ever visited. read more

For anyone who have a flat pack with Jax, you are free to use any Jax stores to utilize your flat pack for your bike. Do NOT come to this specific location if you care about how you are being treated. You must bring your entire bike and let them fix the flat for you. The store manager is very controlling and rude/unprofessional. He does not care if you know how to change your own flat. He does not care if you didn't finish your ride because you had to call someone to pick you up. I did not have this issue with other Jax stores such as Claremont, Irvine or Long Beach. The other stores are friendlier and more professional. As long as you give them the bad tube, they will give you a new one. They will ask you for your name, phone and what kind of bike you have just to confirm, but you do not need to bring in your entire bike. Obviously, some "people" do not care that some of their store managers treat their customers poorly. (Edit: FYI...YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING YOUR WHOLE BIKE WITH YOU! You ARE allowed to just bring in your bad tube only in exchange for a new one as long as you say that you have a flat pack with Jax, you have the bad tube and you provide your info for them at any Jax store...DO NOT GO TO YORBA LINDA!) read more

Although prices seem a bit steep, I have noticed some sales. There is a good selection of items here. The second time I came to this location I brought my brother to help me pick out a bike for a loved one, and he seemed pretty happy with the selection and quality of the gear here (which is great since he's kind of the expert in my family). Not going here ever again i was there to get my chain replaced bleed brakes and put new pads cuase my break was squeaking but they never solved the issue squeak was still there brakes were soft and i dont think they even put the new chain i jus noticed it and they charge me almost 200 and nothing was done. With COVID, I am getting serious to make a quality bike purchase and wanted to give this nearby store a shot to learn more about Trek. I would have to say it was a very poor experience with the initial staff being oblivious in trying to help me get sized and to identify what type of bike I should get. I understand the difficulty with COVID and their lack of having adequate bike supply, but after visiting a few other stores, I've realized that this stores customer service is very poor. Coming to this store felt like they wanted to rush you out and they try scare you off saying that it might take a year to get your bike order in. They literally had zero road bikes and Trek bikes actually, and wouldn't let you sit on any of the bikes to help you get the right size of find features that you want to learn about. Instead they were proud to say that their profits are actually up because people would buy whatever's available, and that most customers are buying up expensive electric bikes, so they didn't care to help me identify the bike specs to place a bike order. I'm giving this one extra star since another employee tried to help more but honestly I could have done the exact search online so it didn't help at all. Honestly, this experience made me realize that I didn't want a Trek bike now since it was associated with this level of service. I recommend visiting other stores, all of which have some stock and will help you get properly sized and help you find the bike that fits you best. It won't take more than 4-8 weeks to order for the majority of orders and they would let you at least sit on a customers bike to get a feel for it. (By the way, my neighbor went there with $3k cash in hand to buy an electric bike but he walked out immediately when they were rude to him... he ended up buying a $7k Specialized bike... so the customer service issue might just be with this store and not other Jax locations). read more

Brought my rear wheel in for the spokes to be tensioned, wheel needed to be trued and dished to center it on the hub. Pre-paid the $35 dollars, waited a week and when I finally got the wheel back the rim was so far off center it was wedged in the left chain stay and seat stay, wouldn't even spin on the bike because of the rubbing. I had to re-true it on the bike as best I could for a ride I was doing but then had to take it to another shop that knows how to properly true a wheel. I did not get what I paid for. Staff was nice and all, but I don't think I'll go back to this shop. read more

I've had it with this place. Went on a Sunday morning because I got a flat on the Fullerton loop. Gentlemen was very nice and sold me the lifetime flat package and told me it would prevent the thorns from popping my tires. I leave the shop and 10 minutes later a flat. Not sure if it was a pinch flat or if the guy didn't get all the thorns out. Anyways I go back another day and he says he will refund me and convert me to tubeless. Great right....he converts me, take bike home and next morning tire is flat. I go to pump up tire and bead pops. Long story short I went to Jensen USA and tire was destroyed by Jax, probably from coming on and off so much so I was forced to buy a new tire. Jensen helped me out, fixed it right the first time and had better prices. Don't get here, go to Jensen. read more

I've waited in line for over an hour before to get into the store and the owner was outside in the heat with us all going down the line asking each person individually what they needed so their wait was not in vain.
