This restaurant was packed on Sunday around 12:00. The parking lot was so full that we almost left. But we saw a family leave and took their spot. We got seated fairly quickly but it's a tight squeeze in there. The servers were super friendly. I ordered a California Scramble with bacon. I was hoping that it came with salsa and sour cream like how I'm used to the dish in other breakfast restaurants but it didn't. The hash browns were soft and flakey. The eggs Benedict were quite delicious. Both dishes were good but nothing memorable.

Jay Berry's is a stable for breakfast for anyone in the Renton highlands area. I've taken many people to get breakfast here- you can always count on super friendly service with coffee refill after coffee refill and so on. My go to has to be the chicken fried steak smothered with gravy and crispy hashbrowns - I always go with the biscuit. It is a cozy and comfortable diner where you can always expect a good time .

My husband and I were looking for a brunch spot in the area and came across this place. We hadn't tried it before, but some friends had mentioned they'd been wanting to check it out too, so we decided to give it a go. I'll be honest--the service felt a bit odd when we first walked in. We were told we could wait a while to get seated at the dinning area or that we could seat ourselves at the bar. Since it was our first time, I wasn't sure if that meant the actual bar counter or tables in the bar area. When I asked for clarification, there was a bit of an awkward pause before someone finally explained we could sit at a table in the bar section. That said, once we got settled, the experience improved. The server who took care of us was very kind and attentive. I ordered my usual go-to at breakfast spots: chicken fried steak with a biscuit. It was really good--definitely hearty and comforting without being overly greasy. That said, it is a heavy meal (fried food plus gravy), so be prepared for a post-brunch nap. The biscuit looked a little underwhelming at first, but it actually tasted great. The overall vibe of the place is very much a local dive bar feel, and the service style matches that. As long as you go in with the right expectations, it makes for an enjoyable, laid-back brunch. Also worth noting--there's a decent amount of parking in the back, which is always a plus. Overall, a solid spot for a casual, no-frills brunch.

Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the wait. My poached eggs were overcooked, and the Jose Special was very dry. After we left, my friends and I all agreed the food was just... mid. Not bad, but definitely not anything memorable or worth such a long wait. I don't quite understand why there's consistently such a crowd if the food isn't anything out of the ordinary. On the positive side, the tea selection was solid, and the prices were very reasonable, which is always a plus. Overall, great service and fair pricing, but the food didn't match the hype or the wait time.

This was my first time trying this place and it's good. I went on Saturday so it's very busy, but there are bar seatings so didn't wait long. The price is decent and the amount of food is definitely enough. The service is good too. It's a very local American restaurant for breakfast.

Loved!! Wow we visited Seattle and looked at places for bfast right after getting our rental. Jay berrys came up and it def did not disappoint!! It was so good!! And packed! It's def that local spot and we love that we dined in here. The menu is huge and I still regret not getting their cinnamon rolls. Ahh! Excited to be back when we visit again!!

If you are looking for that out of the way spot, that is also everyone's hangout, this is your spot. Along with a vibrant sports bar (complete with divey feel) is their restaurant with full menu items. Don't forget their Saturday night prime rib evenings. And as an added bonus... they make some of the most excellent pizza in this part of unincorporated King County (closest to Renton that is). There is both sit down down restaurant area, as well as the locally famous bar. Is it divey? Absolutely!! Come for the drinks, the food and your friends. And a very friendly, veteran staff. Stop on by for your favorite drink, and your favorite meal!

While in the area, we stopped by for a quick bite but ended up being there much longer. We were greeted and seated right away even though the place was already packed. The service and quality of food was on point, not to mention their $5 Bloody Mary drinks were perfect. Definitely coming back!

Retro but very cool! Food still doesn't appoint! I mean where can you get a full Prime Dinner with a choice of soup, salad or FULLY loaded baked potato on SAT Night (only)! Holy Moly! The Berry Burger my wife tried was good. Sweet potato fries had good flavor. Pizza's are great! Friday nights is alway CLAM CHOWDER NIGHT! Service is fantastic! Michelle always Greets us with a smile. Friendly overall staff. The ambiance is a "Feel Good Feeling"! Like Bing home without the family drama! Overall, always passed this place on my work when moved to Renton, but now it is one of favorite places to go for. Clam chowder fix on a FRI. A nice prime rib steak on (only ) SAT! And everyday other day just some good food! So get some!

Came here again for breakfast around 9am Tuesday morning. It easy busy at all! We were able to find parking easily as well as get seated immediately. Service was quick and staff was very kind. Food was delicious!! They give pretty decent portions for a very fair price (our food plus a hot chocolate and coffee was $45 in total). Definitely recommend coming here for that dinner breakfast experience.

Went back to Jay's today. Haven't been for awhile. Still great, friendly service and very attentive. Ordered the fish and chips. Plenty on the plate for $19.99 and to comes with a fairly large salad! My husband ordered the club sandwich and he said it very perfect. We did ordered their homemade apple pie. Review pending on it because we had it "to go".

This review is for our visit on November 6th 2025 @ around 8:40 pm. This wasn't our first time at Jay Berries it's actually become one of our favorite spots to visit for breakfast after church on Sundays. We've been there quite a few times, so we already knew we loved it... but this visit reminded us why we keep coming back. We arrived pretty close to closing time, and even then, they greeted us with genuine kindness and were more than happy to seat us. That alone meant a lot, especially since not many places nearby stay open late and we were very hungry. Unlike the busy Sunday mornings we're used to, seating was quick and easy this time with no wait at all, which was a nice change of pace. For dinner, I ordered the steak cooked rare, my son got a burger and fries, and we shared the calamari. The steak truly stood out. It was cooked exactly the way I like it. perfectly rare with a beautiful, tender center. What I appreciated most was the seasoning. It was thoughtfully done: flavorful enough to enhance the meat, but not so heavy that it overpowered the natural taste of the steak itself. You could still taste the quality of the meat, which is something I always look for. Honestly, it gave steakhouse quality without the steakhouse price, which made it even better. I paired it with a side of broccoli... simple, fresh, and exactly what you'd expect. No complaints there. My son absolutely enjoyed his burger. It was big, juicy, and clearly made with care. The patty was well-seasoned, giving it a rich, savory flavor in every bite, and the toppings were fresh and crisp, adding a nice balance and texture. You could tell it wasn't just thrown together it was thoughtfully prepared. And of course, the fries were a hit golden, satisfying, and hard not to love. The calamari was the only dish that didn't quite match the rest for me personally. It was a bit more heavily seasoned than I prefer, especially with the breading. That said, the dipping sauce it came with was delicious smooth, flavorful, and it really helped balance things out when paired together. My son actually really enjoyed the calamari as-is, so it may just come down to personal taste. Overall, this is a place we genuinely love. The people are consistently kind, welcoming, and attentive, and there's a warmth here that makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. It really does have that "home away from home" feeling especially during breakfast hours. There's something about their breakfast menu that just feels comforting and made with love... you can truly taste it. The portion sizes are always generous, and the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and amount of food you receive. That combination is hard to find. While the only downside is the longer wait times on weekend mornings (which honestly just speaks to how good they are), they do offer takeout, which is a great option. This definitely won't be our last visit we'll keep coming back again and again. Highly recommend giving them a try!

Lost a star because of the young man who refuse to give me ice water. He asked if we needed more coffee and I asked him if I could get some ice water, because it was getting warm. He joked and said "No. you have medicine and I don't". I had a half of glass of mimosa, so I think that is what he was calling medicine. I did not care for his attitude. I finally caught a server walking by & asked he for water and told her I was really warm. Less than 1 minute she showed up with that ice water. As busy as it was she made time for my request...I thank her if I knew her name. Our breakfast was delish as usual and service was good with Cindy. The ambiance was loud & busy. This kid ruin it a bit with the refusal of ice water.

Bellden Cafe has it all, we've already gone several times I'm obsessed with the ube mochi waffle, it is soooo delicious (not too sweet, incredible texture and flavor). Their matcha is also lovely, I got matcha with rose syrup both times I went (so immaculate). I've turned into a bit of a matcha snob, so always looking for some good options and they hit the spot. Even on a super busy weekend morning, they were so accommodating, so friendly and even remembered us from just one visit! Really fantastic team, they really make the whole experience even MORE lovely. And the interior is jussssst so gorg!!! The decor is immaculate, there's lots of space (even when it was crowded), would be a perfect place to work from during the week, even their outdoor tables were very clean and cutie. We ordered the brioche breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, and ube waffle. I wouldn't say everything was bad, because that wouldn't be fair, but most of the food lacked the flavor I was expecting. The breakfast sandwich was pretty mild even with the aioli, and the avocado toast was also missing some of the brightness and zest I usually expect from avocado toast. The ube waffle was unfortunately my least favorite. I asked for no chocolate sauce, but it still came with chocolate sauce, and the waffle itself was very dense and dry. I think this place may just depend on what you're looking for. If you prefer a more traditional, flavorful breakfast, it probably wouldn't be my first recommendation. That said, I wouldn't knock the quality of the ingredients, and if you're looking for a brunch spot that offers more dietary-friendly options, this could still be a good choice.

Anyway, I came in around noon on Sunday, so basically brunch time, and ordered the French Toast with Macrina cinnamon swirl brioche, vanilla bean, and real maple syrup. I also added a side of two eggs, which I believe I got over medium. I walked around for a bit while waiting for my order, and when I went to pick it up, one of the guys working there repeatedly asked if everything was all right. I'm not entirely sure what prompted that, but the interaction felt a little awkward. I ate inside at my own table. The French toast itself was good, but definitely too sweet for me. I used maybe three-quarters of the maple syrup they provided, which admittedly didn't help my cause, but even apart from that, the cinnamon-swirl brioche was already quite sweet. If you're ordering it, I'd recommend going easy on the syrup at first and adding more as needed. Overall, decent post-race brunch and the French toast tasted good, but between the sweetness and the slightly awkward experience, I'd give it 3/5. 3/5 stars Last visited: August 30, 2026

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service…read more We stopped at Huxdotter Coffee in North Bend on Friday and ordered a 16 oz PBJ Smoothie, a 16 oz Mango Smoothie, and a ham and cheese croissant through the drive-through. At the window, we received the croissant and the 16 oz PBJ Smoothie, but were handed a 12 oz Mango Smoothie. We immediately pointed out that the drink was the wrong size. Rather than simply acknowledging the mistake and correcting the order, the employee told us that the order had been entered as a 12 oz drink. We reiterated that we had specifically ordered a 16 oz Mango Smoothie. Instead of saying something as simple as, "I'm sorry, we'll remake that for you," we were told that she would have to refund the original charge and then charge us again for the 16 oz drink. Seriously? Apparently, Huxdotter has developed an innovative new approach to customer service: If we make a mistake, the customer gets to fix it. The mistake wasn't ours. We ordered a 16 oz drink, and the employee or the person taking the order entered it incorrectly. Yet instead of taking responsibility for the error and providing the customer service one would reasonably expect, we were essentially given a bureaucratic explanation of why correcting their mistake was going to require additional transactions. We were on our way to an appointment and didn't have time to wait around sorting out an issue that should have taken less than a minute to resolve. We simply said, "Never mind," and left. What is especially disappointing is that this wasn't about the cost of a smoothie. It was about how the situation was handled. Mistakes happen. Good businesses acknowledge them, apologize, and make them right. Telling the customer that they have to go through a refund and repurchase process because the business entered the order incorrectly is simply poor customer service. Unfortunately, this experience left such a bad impression that we won't be going back. There are plenty of coffee shops willing to treat their customers better.
