Right off the bat, the staff are courteous and diligent. Service is very good, very local, home town feel. Went there on a early Sunday morning with my family: Food ordered: Country friend steak Berry's French Toast Tater tots Coffee I found the food overall to be better than what you'd usually experience at a Shari's and definitely a Denny's. My only critique is I would have wished for a handful greater size of hashbrowns that came with my meal. The price for everything is borderline pricey. Facility and Parking: Parking can be tight because the patronage starts picking up a couple hours after this place opens. Facility is well kept and cleaner than what you'd find at a Shari's or Denny's. Why go? It feels like a quaint local diner and it's tidy. With the quality of the service, you go away feeling good you're supporting people doing a good job with food that reminds you that there are places to be remained un-gentrified by big box blandness. read more

I ate there yesterday for the first time and unfortunately probably the last time. All I have heard is how amazing this place is. It must be from the locals that never travel out of the area. It sucks because I really wanted to like this place it is a cozy little place and the staff was nice, but unfortunately the best part of my meal was the Coca-Cola. I had an omelette with hash browns and toast and I expected to be blown away from all of the hype that I have heard about this place. It was some of the worst breakfast I had ever had. It seriously tasted like something that you get from Denny's or Shari's the hash browns tasted exactly like the ones that they serve at Denny's or Shari's. The omelet was flat and the eggs were dry. The pricing was reasonable so I didn't feel like I was out a bunch of money but to say I was severely disappointed would be an understatement. We usually go to Elmer's or Homestead much much better breakfast! We really enjoyed our breakfast here this morning just the 4 of us. We live nearby and have been meaning to come for quite some time. I had a light omelet and they were more then happy to accommodate my crazy diet requests. My girls had the kids pancakes and my husband had the sausage gravy and biscuits. The portions were perfect and the bacon was top notch. There was always someone coming to refill our coffee and ask if we were doing well. Awesome homey feel! We've always had a great meal here. Lately our tastebuds have very much enjoyed their lemon pepper salmon.

Met a friend there that I hadn't seen in a year. We sat in the bar. There was a gal in there who several patrons said is a regular in there. She was extremely drunk and was being served one drink after the other, regardless of the fact that she was extremely drunk to the point she couldn't walk. The bartender finally cut her off but it was too late. She argued with the bartender then got up to leave. She was so drunk that she could barely stand and couldn't walk at all. She ended up passing out as she was trying to walk, hitting my friend on the way to the floor, which knocked my friend out of her chair and onto the floor. On the way to the floor, my friend hit her head on a chair and her head bounced off the floor, rendering her unconscious for a bit. The drunk landed on her legs. The drunk lady was also passed out on the floor. The bartender and another employee brought my friend ice for her head and they were asking if she wanted advil. There was no first aid kit offered, they didn't call 911 or anything. The bartender said she told a worker to review the tape but we think maybe it was really going to be erased instead. The bartender admitted that it was her fault because she over served her. She said she was giving that lady one drink after the other and that she was drinking them so fast. . My friend went to the hospital after it happened and she has a concussion from what happened to her. She has missed work because of this. She has bruises on her legs from the gal landing on her, she also has a sore shoulder and a hurt tailbone on top of the concussion. The owner of the place hasn't reached out to my friend at all. The bartender did the night it happened but not since that night. My friend has medical bills to pay and missed work because of this. Jay Berry's needs to address this. A patron in the bar told me that the drunk who hurt my friend is always in there and is always drunk. The bar over serves people and it's disgusting that the owner hasn't reached out. My friend is still having problems from what happened. I have filed a report with the liquor control board for them over serving that gal which resulted in my friend getting hurt and Jay Berry's doing nothing about it. They need to address this because if not, the Liquor Control Board will. read more

The staff was super friendly in the chaos of a Sunday morning crowd. Mimosas and Bloody Marys are just three bucks! Didn't know where to go for some brunch, so I took to Yelp and randomly chose this place! All I can say is... Cozy atmosphere, mimosas, and delicious omelettes? What more could you want? My friend and I immediately had a table. The waitress was very nice and let us take our time rather than checking up on us every three seconds to see if we were ready. I ordered the Jay Berry's omelette. The cafe was nicely packed with customers, yet our meal got there in like 10 minutes. Hardly a wait at all! My omelette was cooked perfectly too. It had sausage, green peppers, white onions, mushrooms, melted mozzarella, with formaggi sauce underneath it. It was perfect! It came with hash browns as well, and I was pleased to find that they were crispy and salted perfectly - a lot of places (like Denny's and Shari's) seem to think the key to perfect hash browns is ten pounds of salt... But Jay's has it figured out! They have nice, strong mimosas as well which is always a plus! Jay's is kind of in a random area, so I don't see myself becoming a regular, but whenever I'm in the area, I can see it as a definite stop! read more

There are two of these? Gross. We only go here because my mother in law loves this place in North Bend. The service is awful. This last time our waitress looked like she was out of an '80's heavy metal video and had the snarl to match the teased black hair and eyeliner. The garlic buns were stale, we had to ask several times for water and the glasses & pitcher were dirty. She shrugged her shoulders and said they must not have been used for awhile. Pizza was soggy in the middle, had to get more sauce for the cheese pizza, looked like it was forgotten. A waitress walked by and said, "No one's helping you guys?" And then rushed off to find the girl who was supposed to be seating people. Just left this place and I'm not a happy camper! The food took a little long but is expected for Sunday brunch. My French toast came out a little undercooked but was given a new plate right away. However, it took forever for our waitress to get us hot sauce and my husbands English muffin. She actually brought out toast the first time but then we had to ask her two more times AND another waitress for the English muffin. It finally came out when all of our plates were empty! What makes me even more angry was that she was being nice to everyone else but didn't ask how we were doing or refilled our drinks. Every time I drive by this place I'm like "I bet that place has good food." Something about it made me think that. Maybe it was all the cars in the lot, and all the cars parked across the street? I don't know, but I wanted to try it. Came by on a Sunday morning, maybe 11ish? Busy place, had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. It's small, old. The benches in the lobby are so old you sink in them, and not in a comfortable way. As we made our way to the table, I kinda got worried as I looked around: every table was sat, but not a single table had food. Oh no, how long was it gonna take?! Our server was very friendly and attentive. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. I ended up ordering Pancakes; which included 3 huge pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 sausage or bacon. My boyfriend got the Traditional; including 2 eggs, hashbrowns, sausage or bacon and toast. Surprisingly, food came other rather fast.The sausage and bacon are clearly not freshly cooked and just sitting in a bin in the back, because both were cold. The pancakes, as I said, were huge, and fluffy and warm. The eggs were okay. The service was good and consistent throughout. The food was average tasting, decently priced. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but there are a few items that I'd be interesting in coming back to try at some point. read more

My older brother is obsessed with finding coupons or discounts for restaurants. On a recent trip to Seattle/Renton, WA to visit I was privy to the full nature of this obsession. A substantial discount for Jay Berry's was in the works, so after dropping his kids at daycare, our party headed for an "adult" breakfast. Not THAT kind of adult breakfast -- I mean something with that lovely 5-letter word: QUIET. DINING AREA: A simple, laid-back environment. Tables are not too close to one another. SERVICE: Polite, attentive, efficient. Not overbearing. Quick with coffee and water refills. MENU OFFERINGS: Enough to catch your attention -- standard breakfast fare from egg dishes to french toast and pancakes. STANDOUT DISHES: My brothers enjoyed the corned beef hash + eggs and the chicken-fried steak + eggs. My favorite was a daily special of hash browns combined with veggies and a delicious cheese sauce. OVERALL: 3 stars. Just the right non-chain place to fill your stomach with breakfast fare. I can imagine this place gets a bit crowded for the weekend happy hour with bloody/mimosa specials. For a weekday morning, this hit the spot and was certainly better than anything IHOP, Denny's, or Perkins could provide. If I lived in the Renton area, this would be a regular stop. read more

I have tried this little cafe twice for breakfast and it has been a disappointment both times, for several reasons: -Service: I had two different waitresses and they were both equally terrible, I guess customer service is not their forte. The other thing both of them had in common was that both pushed the "exquisite" cinnamon roll, which we ordered once and it was old (I suspect they bought it at Safeway) We shared our concern, and returned after trying it and they still charged us for it!!! -Food: I have had better tasting and more refined presentation food at Denny's, we had a selection of 4 dishes in both times, tasting only one condiment in each order: SALT! It's a little out of the way - but so far, it's one of the best breakfast joints I've found around here. Chicken fried steak & eggs is the way to go - I love that it not only tastes good, but isn't all greasy either. It's a good one to share so you can try a couple things on the menu. The hashbrowns are pretty ok too (not the golden greasy crispy kind, more the dry semi-crisp on the top type) - although I sub'd fruit to try to balance my breakfast a little. HA. I was bummed they were all out of the French Toast :( but I guess that leaves me something to come back and try. I wish they had a Monte Cristo. I was in the area and there isn't much breakfast options. This was the only option we could find and decided to try it out. FOOD: Got the Chicken Fried Steak and Biscuit & Gravy. Food was average. Felt like diner food. (Denny's) I did not try the chicken fried steak but was told it wasn't anything special. I got the biscuit and gravy and the biscuit was soft and fluffy. The sausage gravy was less than decent. Barely had an sausage and the flavor profile lacked. Probably the worst hash browns I had in a long while. It was crispy on the outside like hashbrown is suppose to be but was extremely mushy almost like mashed potatoes. I definitely was not expecting to bite into that. Originally, I wanted the sausage biscuit but found out that the meat is sent in which means it is not fresh so most likely frozen. I applaud restaurants that make their food homemade and from scratch. It not only taste better but it makes it more attractive to new customers to come and dine. I believe that if they made changes to use more local ingredients and make their food in their own kitchen then the business would benefit them. SERVICE: We sat in the bar. Yes there is a bar at this diner style restaurant. They have some pretty good deals so that is a bonus. Our servers were all helpful and did their job. PRESENTATION: There is the dining area where it was more family oriented and the bar which is bar atmosphere. Food looked decent but the taste was a little disappointing. LOCATION: Random location among suburban neighborhood. There is a parking lot and it didn't seem to packed. WOULD I COME BACK: Meh... Not anytime soon. It's got jalapenos which give it a nice kick, so if you are one of these people who can't handle any spice, it sucks to be you and don't get that. I love how close this place is to home. I love the pizza (greasy but so good) however, everytime I have ordered from there, whether delivery or take out, they get my order wrong in some fashion. Their staff is very inexperienced. As far as the food goes, I recommend sticking to the pizza - the other meals we've had there are sub par. The salmon dinner was very DRY and overcooked. The Chicken Marsala (their "special") tasted fishy and way too buttery. Salads are just ok. Kids' Grilled Cheese sandwich is two pieces of garlic cheese bread stacked on top of each other - my daughter wouldn't touch it (how do you screw up grilled cheese!?!) I keep going back hoping for better... Guess I need to take my own advice and stick to the pizza. read more

The fam was looking for a good breakfast place and we have finally located something near us!
