I finally decided to stop in and see what the hype was about, because this place is always packed. Like, "drive by and immediately keep driving because it's too busy" packed. Curiosity eventually won, and I'm glad it did. First off, the place itself is on the smaller side, maybe around 15 tables plus a bar top, but it's well organized and efficient. You're immediately greeted by an employee who asks how many are in your party, and before you know it, you're seated with a menu and water in hand. Smooth operation so far. I went all in and ordered the red velvet waffles (because obviously), paired with a milkshake, and my partner ordered the corned beef hash. The wait time was about 20-25 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how full the place was. When the food arrived, it was clear why people keep coming back, the portions are generous and easily shareable. The red velvet waffles were amazing. Rich, fluffy, and absolutely worth the order. The corned beef hash was clearly made from scratch, you could tell the corned beef was hand-cut, along with the potatoes and peppers. No mystery meat here. It's served with crispy hash browns and an egg cooked however you like, which is exactly how it should be. Service was great too, super friendly, genuinely nice, and very on top of things. You can tell this place has been around for a while because the staff all seem to have their rhythm down. There's a groove, and it works. Great little diner that's close to home! Definitely for an older crowd that love to take it easy and slow. Came in at around 10 am on a Friday and was able to sit anywhere that was open. Our waitress was very sweet, and as far as I could tell, the only one serving tables, so service was a bit slower. Food was tasty and just what you would expect for diner food. Enough parking near by - sometimes may difficult to find one too. We stopped here while coming back from Tukwila. Decided to stop here once we saw the great reviews for this place. We were welcomed by Karen that day and gave us a nice table. Many breakfast and comfort food options on their menu. Varieties are impressive to be fair. Pretty good options for the kids. Since it was a brunch time, completely skipped the lunch options/ burgers. We ordered couple of Red Waffle specials, Veggie omelette and coffee. Absolutely no wait for the food. This was our first time trying Countryside Cafe. The restaurant has a cozy diner vibe and was pretty empty on a weekday morning. We seated ourselves and were welcomed by our server immediately. I think our server's name was Karen. She was kind and attentive during our entire visit. She frequently checked in on us, refilled our beverages quickly, and seemed to know several regular customers by name. Service was reasonably quick ( but we were one of only three occupied tables). We ordered coffee, orange juice, country fried steak, and the salmon benedict. The country fried steak was good and similar to other breakfast diners we've had. I have mixed feelings about the Salmon Benedict. The salmon portion was VERY generous and tasty, and I was shocked, as I had expected just a tiny bit. However, the hollandaise was very bland, and the eggs were overcooked. Overall, it was a positive experience, and we appreciated the excellent service. A friend of ours, who is local, recommended this small family run restaurant as a meeting place for breakfast. It is unassuming as you drive up. Located in a strip mall front. It was what I would call the little local dive restaurant as we drove up and parked (parking was easy to do). The interior was cozy, filled with lots of tables which were full. As you walk in the door, don't miss the small board highlighting their specials. We sat at a booth and were offered coffee - yes, of course to a cup of coffee. Each coffee cup is unique and mine was a metal camping cup. It went along well with the quirky vibe. Fun! I ordered the pumpkin pancake specials which were tasty! My husband ordered a plate with an omelette, toast, bacon, potatoes. The clear winner --- the raspberry jam that came with the meals! I believe it was a freezer jam and it was so good, and homemade, that we ordered a jar to go when they said they sold it as well. Now I have to laugh a little that it actually didn't come in a jar, but rather a tall (venti sized) plastic cup with a lid. That's ok because we were able to take some home with us to continue to enjoy. The service - polite, friendly and fun! The waitress interacted with our table and we had a great time. We were coming back from a night in Woodinville on Memorial Day and all the cute Woodinville places had huge waits. I started looking for places on the way home and came across this place. My fiance was familiar with it and had been there years ago. There was a wait when we got there, but there were seats opened at the bar so we decided to sit there. The pancakes here can be too thick , and sometimes undercooked in the middle (This is why I prefer thinner pancakes. They cook all the way through more easily, and have a better texture in my opinion). The flavor isn't anything to write home about - just about the same as you might expect to make at home. The butter has been served a bit too cold and hard to be spread easily as well. It would have been better if the butter was served on top of the pancakes from the start, so the heat from the pancakes could melt the butter even before the pancakes are served. The bacon I've been served here was kind of limp, not really crispy. The service is nice here, I never had any problems with any of them. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. Parking can be really rough due to this restaurant's location and the other businesses surrounding it. Overall, it's really close to where I live, but even so, I still end up going elsewhere for breakfast due to the few issues I mention here. read more

You get on the waitlist by writing your name down on their paper list by the entrance table and the staff will call out names as clean tables become available. But it seemed like the eggs were a bit overcooked; they were a bit dry. Hash browns were good, even though I'd prefer them to be crispier. I order the country fried steak with eggs and hash brown with a side of French toast. All well cooked the price of my meal was responsible. Man I make the one mistake of ordering from these complete bozos ONE time trying to support local businesses and completely regret it. Got chicken fried steak with eggs and ordered to go. They forgot to included the gravy and the eggs. Noticed it when I got home. Like great brains have cooks working back there with the IQ of a box of rocks. Then you try to call and they refuse to answer their phone like they are so busy even though it was crickets in there. Also when you go there their health inspection status was "OK" which is one the lowest scores you can get. That means the health inspector did a visit and found their kitchen, how they store food and the sanitation WAY below par. I will never be back and hope this business folds. Went here to start off my son's bday and the food and service was great. It was a Thursday morning and it wasn't busy. On weekends, it can be packed. Couple of booths line the perimeter of the space, with one that could accommodate a larger group. They also have tables in the middle which could potentially be moved together to accommodate a larger group also. KAREN (her actual name and not the personality-type) was our server and there's something to be said about someone who acknowledges each time I say thank you...either somewhere along the lines of "no problem", "of course", "you're welcome", or even the "thank you" right back. She made sure to check in with us a good amount of times to see did needed anything. Karen was awesome - 11/10! Here's how the food was: BANANA RUM PANCAKES - this wasn't on the menu but it used to be so I asked if they could make it because it's so decadent and my fave. Sautéed bananas in a rum sauce, pretty much like banana's foster, they scoop the sauce over french toast with two dollops of whip cream on the side. Sooooo yum! It's sweet but it's a perfect sweetness for me when I have it with coffee. 10/10 SALMON BENEDICT - Salmon fillet served on english muffin with tomatoes, raw spinach, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and capers. The salmon was cooked to medium in which next time I'll ask to have it cooked to a medium rare instead (due to preference) and maybe even cook down the spinach vs. having it raw. Didn't have much capers but I cut the richness with hot sauce so that worked well. This comes with hash brown and it's just how I like it... tender on the inside and a crisp on the outside. Almost ate the whole thing before I even touched the actual benedict . Give it 8/10 as-is but adjusting w/ a sprinkle of salt and hot sauce, made it a bit better 8.75/10. CLUB SANDWICH (hubby's order) - One of the better club's he has had due to how they toasted the bread. Normally he asks to not have it toasted because most places have it toasted too much that it cuts the mouth. In this instance, they accidentally toasted BUT it was what he's always wanted so that actually was a happy surprise.
