Wow.. okay, so seriously this place is the worst. After working my ass off all day in the rain figured I'd stop in and get a happy hr 2 topping pizza. Looking at the alcohol selection I wanted sailor Jerry's(only thing I drink)... well they don't have sailor Jerry's so my order for pizza was refused. Tried to speak to a manager but the bar tender (rochelle) refused and said the manager just comes in whenever she wants and by the service you can really see that's true. We hadn't been here in a couple of years but after passing by decided to try it again soon. Saturday we went for lunch, and we both enjoyed the great quality and flavor of the food. The service was also top notch, and we were really surprised at how reasonable the prices are. My only deduction of one star is for the rather tired decor inside. Great food, atmosphere and ppl that work there is super friendly. There food is fresh, organic and homemade. Whenever I am in town I like to take my mom here. I remember their original restaurant on Gilman Blvd in Issaquah when I was a kid. I was sad to see them go in that location, but happy to find them again in new. I went there for Father day (1st. time). Very disappoint with the foods and serviced..! Foods taste so simple and very small portion for the price that I have to spend. Serviced very poor...I don't known why, she not so friendly or any problem with Asian people. Made the complaint with the restaurant manager on the same day after we let's. Ever since my husband and I moved back to Renton Highlands (well for me.. husband's first time out of Seattle). We've been trying to find new places around our new house to eat for brunch. We came across Jay Berrys when driving to Issaquah using Highway 99 and saw there was a crowd waiting so we made a mental note to try it out one day. Well that day came and we had called in to make reservations for two. That helped us skip the long line but it put us in the bar area because our hostess realized that someone had taken our "reserved" table. That's fine.. so we sat in the bar area and watched the game going on the tvs and I ordered the eggs benedict because I always have to try it at each place and my husband got the regular pancake breakfast. Everything was okay. My eggs benedicts were decent but the hollandaise sauce tasted like it was not made from scratch which is something I like better. Maybe I'll have to come back again and give their lunch/dinner a try instead. But something I'm not going to be running back to anytime soon. read more

We had sandwiches with soup/salad on a weekend afternoon. Clean, prompt service. Sat by the fireplace inside, they had christmas decorations up. Wait staff wears funny t-shirts that have phrases with attitude on them, but they are perfectly friendly and nice. They serve breakfast most of the day I think, we didn't try their breakfast menu but it looked great, I'll definitely go back to try breakfast. read more

My 11 year old daughter and I ate at Jay Berry's for the first time this weekend--we are moving our horses to a pasture up the hill from this restaurant and we were tired and hungry after working on the property in the morning. We came here and really thought it was fantastic. I had the eggs benedict--the sauce was light and deliciously different. My coffee cup kept getting refilled before I even had to say anything. My daughter had the chicken fried steak and she ate the WHOLE thing--the hash browns on both plates disappeared too. Our waitress was charming. We got seated right away. This is a lovely place to have a country breakfast. Next time I will definitely try the homemade cinnamon rolls. read more

I was introduced to Jay Berry's by my boyfriend that lives around the area! I love breakfast and this place has such a good selection! My favorite breakfast option is the Chicken fried steak! I always have a hard time finding the right balance of having a good fried steak either its over the top crusted with no meat at all OR its too meaty with saggy crust! They're steak is the perfect amount of crunch with the right portion of meat to every bite! Recently, I took my mom and brother and they stop serving breakfast around 1:30ish! I was a little disappointed until i got a look at the menu, it was a great variety of pastas, sandwiches, burgers, and salads! I ordered the Chefs Special sandwhich.. which consists of meatballs, mushrooms and a french baguette with a dipping sauce on the side of Marinara sauce and another cheese sauce! It was so amazing and it tasted home made! I highly recommend going for either Breakfast or Lunch! read more

Drove past this place about 20 times before finally taking the plunge. I'll admit it, the "fireball fridays" was just the nudge to get me to commit. $4 fireball shots... got to like that :) I'll first point out that I was surprised how nice the atmosphere was. Sat in the bar area, it was small but cozy and packed. Good vibe, in short. I was also surprised at how put together their menu was, specifically how many HH offerings they had. Went with the artichoke dip and pizza. The pizza was surprisingly good. Not a gourmet wood fired pizza, mind you, but a quintessential hot, salty greasy pie that I crave from time to time and I was that night. The service is what's holding them back from more stars, the bartenders just needed to smile a little more. I wasn't offended but those small details are what turn a good establishment into a world class professional business. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and the positive and festive atmosphere of an establishment right in the ERH (east renton highlands), love to see the "little guy" succeed. read more

We often enjoy this local restaurant. Excellent food; fantastic Happy Hour menu; great service. However, regarding Happy Hour: we ordered two beverages and two HP menu items. We then ordered a third menu item but were too full to eat it. We were told by the server that she would have to charge us full price is we didn't at least attempt to eat it. When I asked why she said that HP menu items were intended to be eaten on premesis. Huh... This restaurant does a brisk business. Why make policies that make customers feel demoralized? Have driven by many times on my way to work and decided to try it out with my daughter for lunch today, our server Nicole was very accommodating and our lunch was perfect! I had the prime rib sandwich with a very fresh salad and she had a personal pizza, both were superb. My fiancé and I decided we needed to go to breakfast on Memorial Day and Jay Berry's was close to us. It was packed, I mean PACKED when we got there. It was only a 15 minute wait for two which was surprising. The dining room is definitely not the nicest one I have ever sat in but it's homey and laid back and that's always nice. We ordered our drinks and got those right away but it took a long time to get our food. When the food finally came it was pretty darn delicious. Perfect food if you are suffering from a hangover. My fiancé got the chicken fried steak and he said it was amazing. I got the french toast and it was perfect. It has a better atmosphere than the bigger chain breakfast places. They don't do any substitutes so I was unable to remove the mushrooms from the omelet that I was going to order. Sad, because that means all their omelet ingredients are premixed.... I know because I used to do restaurant food prep. I had to go with the corn hash...... no complaints on the taste, and I'm glad my toast was actually toasted, and not just warm bread. The place was maybe a quarter full so I know they weren't slammed. I take our kid to Liberty High for his football work outs, so I like a place to hang nearby for breakfast. I have been driving past this restaurant for several years, saying my boys and I need to check this place out... well tonight I took my youngest son out for his 20th birthday....one minor hiccup with a salad but this was the only restaurant we've been to in 3+ years that everyone enjoyed their food. The staff was amazing...the funny for the night was when I was trying to get a waiter's attention and he didn't hear me....the lady at the next table caught his attention and got him back to our table...he took care of what I asked of him and when I told her thank you she said "Oh he's my son" ...we all laughed...loved the experience!!!! read more

Decent little place. Not sure about the restaurant but the lounge is nice. We were just looking for a little out of the way bar/dive and this place was great. Maybe not true quality food but if that's what you came to this place for you may want to think a little harder next time... For what we wanted it was great. Will be back. The one thing I did not like was 2 of the waitresses who had almost waist long hair, did not have their hair tied back. It was hanging all around them. Happy hour food is good and the prices can't be beat. Weekdays there's also an early bird breakfast selection that is great price and perfect portion size, and for a little extra you can jazz up the specials which I recommend.
