Food is good, service is poor... most nights. We have had good service on occasion but probably more bad service than good. This used to be one of my favorite breakfast places of all time. My little family has been going there for well over 10 years. If you're only going based on the food and the staff this with easily be a foreign a half star restaurant. What brings it down is the owner/manager. Great food and good atmosphere. I have only gotten breakfast food, (even at lunch time) and you can't ask for a better home cooked breakfast. My favorite is the breakfast pizza. It is to die for. On the weekends, if you get there earlier enough, order a cinnamon roll. You won't be disappointed in taste or size! read more

There is nothing bad I can honestly say about Jay Berry's. It has become a Wednesday tradition for my boyfriend and myself to have breakfast there. Breakfast is incredible. We both usually order the Eggs Benedict which are too die for with their formaggi sauce! I then also order a side of corn beef and hash which is cooked just the right way. Not too mushy, but not too under cooked either. The staff there is top of the line. The frequent your table to make sure that you are receiving the service you deserve. If you are looking to get lunch or dinner there, i suggest doing so. The prime rib dip is mouth watering and I usually can only finish one half. I have had their clam chowder, minestrone, and bacon potato soup and each are just as good as the next. After 9pm on weekdays in the bar, they have a $5.00 happy hour menu! We have been going to Jay Berries for nearly 9 years now, but have not gone much at all in the past few years as the food has really gone down hill in our opinion. They are family friendly and staff is mostly friendly and good with service. Pizza is actually amazing. But the rest of the food is just ok to not so good for us. It's on par with Denny's (or maybe a bit under, in our opinion.) Our biggest issue is that if they are busy it gets impossible to handle as a customer. They are very challenged with that aspect of service. Decent place to grab some grub if your'e not too picky about what you're getting. read more

Went there before Seahawks game on Sun and it was packed ! They do not take reservations, so we parked down the road and got in in ~20min. Well -- worth the wait. Had the chicken-fried steak & eggs benedict. All of it was outstanding. Steak was tender. Coating was flavorful with great texture --- and not greasy. Gravy, hash browns, eggs and biscuit were done perfectly. Also, probably some of the best eggs benedict I've had. Not a hollandaise sauce --- which I normally like --- but a formaggio sauce which is my new fav. Excellent service as well. read more

The cafe is so cozy, and the staff is friendly, we had a bad experience with one of the bartenders, but I think maybe it was just an off day for her. After a shaky start to our experience, where the waitresses seemed a bit confused about who was taking care of us, our actual waitress Vanessa did a wonderful job of serving us. The side salads and rolls were large and delicious. The Greek salad my daughter ordered was a bit skimpy for a $10 salad, but our server took charge and returned it to be redone. 2 of us ordered the Pepperjack Chicken Burger. Large portions of chicken and, for me, way under seasoned (read: bland) Everyone else enjoyed what they ordered. We had a 5 yr old and an infant that were not the ideal restaurant patrons, but Vanessa moved around them and did a great job of being patient. We will be back for breakfast and Mimosas. read more

Simply Amazing. Enough Said...But I'll say a little more. In the middle of my road trip to Washington, me and a couple friends decided to go here to eat some breakfast. I ordered the Jay Berry's Eggs Benedict and luckily we ate there on $2 tap Tuesday which made my morning that much better. The service we received was good, there weren't to many people there that morning so we got our food and drinks fairly quick. I eat here often, and it's always for brunch. Because it can get very busy, I try to discourage the kids from coming on weekends, so that my husband and I can sit in the bar (which has a full menu). Order something with the formaggi sauce and you won't be disappointed. I always get the eggs benedict. read more

Being new to the area, my wife and I were happy when we found this place a few months back. We liked it very much and we're pleased to have a local place nearby that we could sneak off to while our son was in Pre K (we both work odd hours). We would have breakfast or lunch at Jay Berry's once if not twice a week. Unfortunately, today we learned good things don't always last. During our breakfast there this morning, my wife found a long, thick hair in her breakfast. I don't get grossed out easily but this particular hair was pretty gross. I am hoping it was at least from the neck up if you know what I mean. My wife notifies the waiter and he really didn't care nor did he get her a new breakfast. I was a little surprised as I expected them to handle it more professionally especially since we were regular customers. We get the bill and they took $2.00 off. I thought this was unacceptable. My wife politely requested to speak to a manager. The manager REFUSED to come to our table and speak to us. Seriously?? The waiter ended up taking $5.00 off our bill. Bottom line, horrible customer service. Obviously the don't care about customers if the manager can't even get off her a$$ to address a very unsanitary issue. Will never go back. read more
