My husband and I came to have a late breakfast today and it seemed like our server wasn't interested in helping us at all. She took so long to bring our drinks and never came back to check on us after we placed our order. I noticed she was going to everyone's table to talk with them and refill there drinks and made sure they were good. I had to ask the bus boy for a refill. And we waited over 25 minutes for our food (that never came). We left as soon as I saw a bigger table across from us order AND get there food before us. I left $5 for my coffee, told the cashier we were leaving and walked out. So disappointed. And at this time, there was not a huge rush and the tables around us were being cleared out. Our server never bothered to let us know that our food was coming or any reason why it was taking so long. I forgot her name. But it started with an S. Very upset with our experience. read more

The food was bland and the service was slow. I could literally count the pepper flakes on my steak, that's how unseasoned it was. The color and texture of the steak looked like it had been boiled before briefly placed on the grill. The home fries were soft and bland as well. Everything seemed barely done. We ate at the Little Road location often! The service is great! Affordable prices! They have the BEST chips and salsa! The one thing that they had going ON is their home-fries!!!! Welp, let me tell you! I was pretty surprised when I once I started biting into my breakfast this morning and I left pretty darn happy. I'm a picky breakfast person as well as a coffee aficionado and if the coffee doesn't taste good then the breakfast better make up for it and boy did it. I got a chicken fired chicken breakfast plate with the pancake and everything was tasty and delightful. The chicken was tender and the gravy added that extra oomf! The coffee was a perfect temp and didn't taste burnt like at other restaurants I've been too. The hash browns really impressed me because they were crispy on the first bite and soft in the middle which really made them great. The pancake was fluffy and tasty as well all I topped it off with was the syrup. If you have any doubts just give it a shot but if you love chicken like I do try the CFC breakfast plate. read more

I was very impressed for the price, we got the 3 in 1 as the appetizer, it's cheese fries, tater tots and fried okra. It was really creative and good. I got a sourdough burger with hash browns. I was looking for a good new place to eat breakfast and this place caught my attention. Looking through the menu I saw good food I thought I would like. I ended up ordering for delivery just to receive part of my order wrong. I work at a restaurant where I work as a to-go person so I understand things can get messed up sometimes. I ordered the strawberry waffle combo, which I received but my side of bacon and eggs did not come. Instead, I got 4 pieces of french toast. I actually ended up liking the french toast more than the waffle! Honestly glad I could try another entree because I feel like a lot of common sides can have the same taste at other restaurants. My husband I decided to give Jay Jay Cafe a try. I ordered the Salisbury Steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The broccoli was ok but the mashed potatoes and gravy were absolutely gross. The gravy was flavorless, the potatoes lacked seasoning and the gravy on the Salisbury steak had an oily, unpleasant consistency and was unbelievably bland. Salt and Pepper were not enough. So upon entering the restraunt we were promptly greeted and seated they have a nice open floor plan. The stag was a little busy but not to bad we had to wait about 10 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. After receiving our drinks Coffee and strawberry lemonade (comes with real strawberry's) we ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast special mine came with a biscuit which was very nice and rich wasn't to doughy. The eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly. Although the chicken fried steak left something to be desired in size but the hand breading which was nice and flakey was very good. My wife said the pancake was average nothing really to brag about. I ordered the pecan pie and she had the German chocolate. The Pecan was about average a little to sweet almost to the point where you don't want to finish. Whereas the German chocolate was loaded with coconut. All in all we will be back !!! Have had their pies which are great so we decided to try the food. Came in and stood in the entrance but no one acknowledged us. Stood there for a few minutes and finally someone came and seated us. We looked at the menu and all 3 of us decided what we wanted. Finally a server came to take our drink orders but we figured that since it took this long to get a waitress we better order. Apparently when they bring your drinks they're suppose to bring rolls and cornbread. Yeah that didn't happen. Our food came out so we ask the server if we could get the rolls and cornbread. After we ate decided to get a slice of pie each so we waited for our server to come by. Well she finally did and gave us our receipt and said thanks for coming. So I went to the register to pay and even told the cashier we were wanting to get some slices of pie to which he said nothing and just rang me up. Oh well Andy's frozen custard wasn't far so they were desert. The place looked nice inside but that's what happens when you have kids serving customers and running the register. read more

We go here a lot! We've enjoyed both locations extensively for years in Arlington and now in Mansfield. I get a chef salad. I remove onions and tomato and have a boiled egg added. The hamburger steaks, fried goods, apps, and treats are great. Last visit was horrible. I ordered my usual. When waitress came, I noticed several things immediately. The ranch more than covered the salad. Meaning, there was a lot less (usually I get two ranch.) I then noticed egg was rubber. The brown, slime on lettuce did nothing. Also, the give away was the ham. It was dark on edges, tough, and again like rubber. For $11 I felt screwed. I said nothing because she never came to table. My husband had a burger that was pathetic and when my dad asked for more sides than the "normal" she got upset. I left $5 on a $59 tab. This was three drinks, hamburger, ham steak and sides. They have a great selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner. There hamburger is great, I've been going to a JJ's in both locations in Arlington for years and this place is great as well. I usually eat breakfast here most of the time. The prices are great for the food you get. And the pumpkin pancakes are out of this world good. It's like breakfast candy.
