It's a small hole in the wall (house renovated into a restaurant) with outdoor patio seating. Recommend you call for reservations as it's packed all the time. So I went with a buddy of mine and his fam for his birthday and let me tell ya it surely didn't disappoint. You walk in and you have that rustic Spanish type vibe. We sat down and looked at the menu which doesn't have that many choices to choose from. But let me tell ya the choices they have are straight on point. It's Latin/Spanish inspired food from Puerto Rico, Cuba and Mexico and Central America. Plus they have hand crafted drinks and beers. So one of their claims to fame is they sell tacos by the individual steak, chicken, carnitas, shrimp, short rib, fish, black bean and chorizo which everyone opted for. They were all delicious. They are street style tacos packed full of that delicious flavorful filling(s) of your choice that doesn't disappoint. They also have great sides to go with like rice and beans (black or red), mexi-corn, tostones, maduros, basic popular fries, guac and a side salad. For appetizers you can get fried yuca, fries with Parm and Oaxaca cheese garlic sauce and red pepper flakes, your ever so popular chips and queso, guac and or salsa plus a nice heaping load of nacos with all the fixings a good nacho should have (we got them and man everyone just loved them). You can do what we did and take a appetizer or two and turn it into a side. They also have great Sandwiches and Dinner options as well. I ended up getting one of the dinner options a Burrito XL and it was beyond awesome. I got mine filled with carnitas which was packed with so much flavor and was so tender and juicy it just melted in your mouth then smothered in that rich queso to finish it off wow. But come hungry as they don't call it XL for nothing as it's a size of a small newborn baby. I will have to go back and try other dishes as they sounded so good too. But honestly I'd say run as fast as you can don't walk and waste time to try this place it won't disappoint whatsoever. read more

Went yesterday for Taco Tuesday and was more than pleased! For starters, with all of the restaurants I've been to, I've never done a Yelp review. The fact I'm doing one now speaks volumes of the quality of food and quality customer service received while at JesseJay's. I briefly met Jesse, I briefly met Jay, but fell in love with Amanda and Shelby! They were top-notch with their customer service. Sitting at the bar made it seem as though I was sitting in kitchen of someone's home as I enjoyed my steak taco and chicken taco! My beverages 1) Watermelon margarita 2) Classic margarita with Grand Ma and 3) Sangria were the best I've had in a long time. We were searching for Mexican food on Yelp and this place came up. Super close to where we live so we decided to try it. They asked if we had a reservation...we didn't but they got us seated right away. We ordered a blue moon and a watermelon margarita...very delicious! We ordered salsa and chips and got a big basket of chips and Salsa. Then we ordered a short rib quesadilla and a steak quesadilla. Served meat and cheese style and all the veggies come on the side. Takeout cold told 20 minutes 55 minutes later they are asking why they did not text me to say it was ready. Nachos soggy, Cubano Luke warm, fries cold. Fries are good for about 5 minutes under a heat lamp. You tell me 20 minutes 53 minutes I had to call to see what's up. Cardboard and paper bags are not good in hot box's. When you open and close the hot box you lose 50% of the heat never will keep heat at the correct temp when continue to open and close. I understand you are busy. There is a time when you have taken too many orders, maybe you should keep the phone off line so you can catch up. Love the food only at sit down service. A great local restaurant bringing some Latin inspired dishes to an otherwise barren restaurant landscape. Don't think I've ever had a bad meal here! My wife loves the fish tacos, they seem very stuffed and tasty. Me personally, I think the short ribs are the best dish on the menu! The only negative is the restaurant is very small, so you must plan ahead if you wish to dine inside. There's always carry out or the first come, first serve at the outdoor bar. We love this little place!! We've been a couple of times and always get their yucca fries. The garlic dipping sauce that comes with them is so yummy. The empanadas are some of the best in the area! I love the rum punch cocktail ($8), the chips and salsa ($2.50 during happy hour), and the yucca fries ($6). My only complaint is the lack of vegan entrees. All of the dishes that we have gotten from JesseJay's have been delicious, and the staff is friendly and respectful. We have only eaten outside or had food ordered to go, so I don't know how the inside of the building is, but they have umbrellas for shade and fans outside to keep it a little cooler. The best ropa vieja outside Florida, the meat had a lot o flavor, it was tender and easy to chew and the best Paloma ( Mexican drink) outside Mexico, since they don't use cheap tequila and the grapefruit juice was pretty good. The food is really good and served hot. I got the Cubano sandwich. They add a spicy aoli. It was good but I was anticipating yellow mustard. Their French Fries are seasoned with rosemary which I live. Maduros for dessert were sweet but not too sweet. I highly recommend JesseJay's. read more

Made reservations mid-week for Saturday night and already excited about the next visit. This place did not disappoint! Cozy atmosphere, friendly, knowledgeable staff, good selections. We started with margaritas and nachos, I got 5 of the 6 street tacos (I don't like fish tacos....I know, I know...I'm strange) plus a side of Mexicorn while my boyfriend ordered the Mofongo and Steak, we finished off with Coconut Creme Brulee. Four of us went to this new restaurant (discovered on Yelp) for dinner. Even though we had a reservation (highly recommended) we had to wait for about 15 minutes but boy was it worth the wait. The restaurant has been open since April and if it had any opening jitters they are all gone. We started off with Yucca Fries (amongst the best I've ever tasted and the garlic aioli is fabulous) very tasty Guacamole and French Fries with two different cheeses and sauce. All are recommended! The margaritas were refreshing but could have used a bit more lime juice and simple syrup (I am a little obsessive about margaritas)! Dinner for two of us was short ribs with the other two each having Mofungo with Fried Pork. Wow, the flavors were distinct and subtle with the taste of the meet allowed to shine. Jen was our server, yesterday, and she is a real Gem!! So sweet, and kind and attentive, but no overly so. All of the staff is Really Great! It took 20 min to get a drink followed by 45 minutes to get our food and then toped it off with a 20 minute wait to get the check.
