She was very friendly and was not hesitant to make jokes to keep the good vibes! The restaurant opens the side doors to let fresh air in on a sunny day which is amazing if you don't want to sweat in the sun but still want to feel a nice breeze. The sliders were amazing, the chicken was not dry which is common in bar food places. The concept of every bread being rolls gives the hot dog an extra security when picking it up. Really excited to go back when the days are warmer and can enjoy the patio section!

We seated ourselves as there was no host but lots of waiters/waitress walking around. We sat at a simple rail table and waited for someone to wait on us and take our drink, food order. The staff just seemed oblivious to our being there and walked past several times. I finally went to the waitress station and got the attention of I believe the manager; He took my drink order; a Diet Coke wit bourbon and a Gallant Chocolate Stout. The tap spit so he went back to tap another keg. Was taking sometime; so got attention of the bartender ( Chrisella sp? ). I switched to a Founders stout and DC/bourbon. She was on it and gave me menus. Took drinks back to table and looked over the menu options. Many sounded very good; but still no one to take order. Went to waitress station and Sella took our order. 1 mile burger and one smash burger and split fries. We moved to the bar as a few patrons had left. Enjoyed game and soon food arrived. The burgers were really good and fries nice and crisp. Seen some pretty nice hot dogs served along with some hot fries. Even though service was mostly extinct, Chrisella made up for it. I'd like to plan to come back and try a few other interesting food and drink items. They do have one of the more comprehensive lists of beer line ups in the local area. I really liked the outside Biergarten and the business is very spacey and nicely decorated and lots of seating area.

Have heard about this gem for 20 years but never tried it until last night. Wife and I sat at the…read morebar - love the atmosphere: spacious dive bar with low ceilings and wood paneling. There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

Well I'd classify this place as a dive bar in the sense of the word. It's definitely not 4 star…read morenoted and maybe not the best exclusive signage and overall 4 star appeal; but it a diamond in the rough, persa. This place is quaint, nice location (on a corner ) decent seating, not a big outdoor dining area, the bar is long and has the memories of the old day saloon. Now the food; terribly good! Menu isn't extensive but good items and variety that will satisfy anyone's appetite. It was Father's Day but as soon as it opened they were quickly filled with patrons and people kept coming; even waiting to get in. The fries in duck fat were awesome. Since so many baskets of fries like this for a long time. The smoked wings are great, meaty and savory. I had the pork belly tacos; my only disappointment was you only get 2 per order. The fine combination of ingredients were splendid and the pork belly so tender. My wife had the bbq pork sandwich on pretzel bun. Very good tasting and this was with no bbq sauce on it. If you're in the area, do yourself a a favor and stop in. I can't wait to go back ( as we live in southern Indiana) so might be a bit but definitely want to try a few other items.

I stopped in this time for a takeout order of wings with kickin' bourbon sauce option and a Boomtown Melt sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. Wings were not as crisp as I personally prefer, so I threw them in the air fryer and voila! Perfection! Sandwich and fries were delish. Service was fast and reception staff were friendly and efficient. Convenient parking in lot next door or on the street frontage. Waiting area was comfortable and interesting focal points to look at during my brief wait.

Casual restaurant in Downtown [New Albany IN]…read more Dined at this restaurant by recommendation. Less than a mile from our hotel we came midday in between lunch and dinner so the place was pretty much empty with just a few other patrons. We could sit wherever so we chose a booth at the corner. This was an Americana style restaurant with classic steak, pork, chicken, and vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices. We placed our order for... BLACKENED SALMON - tender and seared. For an additional $1 I asked for bourbon glaze to be spread on my salmon. It was served on a bed of wild rice. The bourbon glaze was definitely a game-changer... the combination of sweet, smoky, and tangy flavors created a yummy flavor. CAJUN PORK CHOPS: not one but two thick cut pork chops brined & seared. Topped with Cajun butter. Husband shared a few bites with me and it had me craving for more. I just helped him finish his pork chops a little bit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Service was friendly but it can sometimes lack attention. There is ample free parking available in the public lots behind and adjacent to the restaurant. Instagram: @boomtown_kitchen Review #3877

We had high hopes based on Eagle Louisville's stellar Yelp score. But we walked away disappointed…read morebecause of a major service lapse, curious food seasonings and discrepancies between menu descriptions and actual dishes. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday. We had a choice between sitting inside or being seated at a picnic table on the covered deck. We were assigned a high-top table in the dining area past the bar, where a few guys were watching a soccer match. The brine-soaked fried chicken is Eagle's specialty, so we ordered it. I thought the chicken was good,. So per the menu for the three-piece fried chicken meal, you can only order either all white meat or all dark meat. Interestingly, the two people at our table that ordered white meat still got a drumstick with their meat. The last I checked, drumsticks were considered dark meat. For an appetizer, we ordered the hush puppies. They had a nice crunchy texture but were very spicy hot. We also ordered the spoonbread. This was my favorite dish of the day. It was served warm, had a great texture and a light maple flavor. With our meals, we could get two sides. We requested the collard greens, green beans, fries, grits and mac & cheese. Only the mac & cheese was good. The collard greens were way salty and the green beans had odd and unexpected seasonings. Our dining companion was put out, and understandably so, that the menu said the grits came with white cheddar cheese. But instead, though the grits maybe had cheese, they were also loaded with loads of diced jalapeno. They were so over the top spicy, none of us could eat the grits. The fries were strongly seasoned with oregano. WTF? Our entrees came with biscuits. The biscuits were tasty, but unfortunately, because they contained too much shortening, fell apart when buttering them. And that leads up to the service lapse. After we received our check, our server completely disappeared. We waited a half hour for her to re-appear, gave up and asked another server to cash us out. He disappeared and we waited some more. Finally the red-headed server re-appeared and breezily explained she had been out on the deck the whole time. No apology or anything.

I did go in here before it was MGs, I forget the name of the place it was before. What really brought me here was after the closure of Khalils on Dixie, I had heard from others that 1 bartender and of the servers was working here. When I came to see for myself, The former server Lilly was behind the bar, and one of the cooks that worked at Khalils works there as well I forgot her name. I went on a slow Tuesday night because I did hear former Khalils staff was working here. When your favorite bar closes and you find out where the staff went, you know how it is. You want to go where they go. I did see some of the regulars from Khalils as well. Lilly was behind the bar that night and after doing some small catching up, she does tell me I have to order at the bar, there is no table service. I ordered a Blue Moon, Cheese Curds, and their burger. I get my cheese curds first and they were awesome. The burger on the other hand, I won't say it was terrible but, it wasn't great either. I don't blame the cook one bit, I'm sure it's just the brand MGs uses, the cook there is just as good as she was at Khalils. And the Blue Moon tasted the way a Blue Moon should. I will say this place does have a good amount of space. They have pool tables, Dart Boards, and gaming machines. They even have a stage for bands. I have only been here once so far and if it wasn't for Lilly and the cook there, I probably wouldn't return at all. I have yet to see Amanda who also worked at Khalils. I have yet to meet the owner of this place as well and look forward to trying their other foods.
