She was very friendly and was not hesitant to make jokes to keep the good vibes! The restaurant opens the side doors to let fresh air in on a sunny day which is amazing if you don't want to sweat in the sun but still want to feel a nice breeze. The sliders were amazing, the chicken was not dry which is common in bar food places. The concept of every bread being rolls gives the hot dog an extra security when picking it up. Really excited to go back when the days are warmer and can enjoy the patio section!

The sunny side egg on the burger was really juicy and the Hawaiian Rolls made for an excellent bun. Even with all of the toppings (lettuce, red onion, white cheddar cheese, bacon, fried green tomatoes, a sunny side up egg and miso ranch) the flavor of the burger still shined through and was delicious! We also got the Hot Fries. The burger was delicious but the hot fries were my favorite part!! They were hot, crispy, and had so much flavor! I love hot things and loved the heat - I can see where they could be considered pretty hot to some an the heat does build if you eat several in a row but again I love this flavor profile. We also got the slaw to help balance the heat of the fries if needed. We got the order to go for lunch. We were impressed by the to go packaging. The bag is really sturdy and really fun! It may sound silly but their take out packing is by far my favorite I have ever seen! We plan on coming back to try some of their other food in the future and look forward to dining in and trying one of their several beers. The atmosphere looks really fun and inviting and everyone was very friendly.

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

As soon as I moved to the Louisville area and stated asking for restaurant recommendations,…read moreeveryone would rave about Hammerheads. Hammerheads this, duck fat fries that. I was going to a UofL women's basketball game and I FINALLY was able to make it here. I went a little overboard on the food, but everything sounded so good! I really loved the pork belly slider and the duck tacos. Mac and cheese balls always slap. Then there are the famous duck fat fries. The portion is substantial, I was thrilled with that. Flavor wise they did not change my life like I was hoping they would. Still ate them all. The locale is super unassuming from the street, but inside it is really cool, divey, and broody. The staff was super sweet and helped me get in and out efficiently so I could make it to the game. Would absolutely recommend, would absolutely come back, and would absolutely bring friends here.

I stopped in this time for a takeout order of wings with kickin' bourbon sauce option and a Boomtown Melt sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. Wings were not as crisp as I personally prefer, so I threw them in the air fryer and voila! Perfection! Sandwich and fries were delish. Service was fast and reception staff were friendly and efficient. Convenient parking in lot next door or on the street frontage. Less than a mile from our hotel we came midday in between lunch and dinner so the place was pretty much empty with just a few other patrons. We could sit wherever so we chose a booth at the corner. This was an Americana style restaurant with classic steak, pork, chicken, and vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices. We placed our order for... BLACKENED SALMON - tender and seared. For an additional $1 I asked for bourbon glaze to be spread on my salmon. It was served on a bed of wild rice. The bourbon glaze was definitely a game-changer... the combination of sweet, smoky, and tangy flavors created a yummy flavor. CAJUN PORK CHOPS: not one but two thick cut pork chops brined & seared. Topped with Cajun butter. Husband shared a few bites with me and it had me craving for more. I just helped him finish his pork chops a little bit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Service was friendly but it can sometimes lack attention. There is ample free parking available in the public lots behind and adjacent to the restaurant. Instagram: @boomtown_kitchen Review #3877

The atmosphere is casual but super comfortable with a lot of natural light inside. We ordered a blackberry lemonade which was pretty good, not super strong blackberry flavor. The grilled cheese is amazing--such a great combination of sweet and savory and super cheesy. The dipping jam is the best part! The Mac and cheese is one of the best I've ever had. It's crunchy and has a good deep flavor. The chicken was pretty good--nothing crazy, but I expected it to be crispier. Collard greens were a good side to balance it a very carb-heavy meal. Prices are pretty reasonable. Overall had a great experience--will definitely be back for the Mac and grilled cheese!

I first came here because they had ballast point sculpin on tap. After they pulled back (ballast point) out of the east/mid west I was happy they replaced it with cigar city Jai Lai. Not sculpin but delicious as well. About 18 months ago maybe more they dropped Jai Lai and now they have 1 IPA on draft. The food was ok. Got the chicken sandwich. Lots of breading not lots of chicken. Didn't want the spicy mayo and asked for mustard, they don't have mustard. Who ever heard of a restaurant that doesn't have French's in a squeeze bottle. Bartender was nice and it's a great sized and pleasant environment just very disappointed in the ipa selection and the quality of the chicken vs the price. Friday evening and pretty sparse crowd. Good luck folks.

I honestly have mixed feelings about this place. I have heard whispers of this place and drove past…read moreit a couple of times. I did go in here before it was MGs, I forget the name of the place it was before. What really brought me here was after the closure of Khalils on Dixie, I had heard from others that 1 bartender and of the servers was working here. When I came to see for myself, The former server Lilly was behind the bar, and one of the cooks that worked at Khalils works there as well I forgot her name. I went on a slow Tuesday night because I did hear former Khalils staff was working here. When your favorite bar closes and you find out where the staff went, you know how it is. You want to go where they go. I did see some of the regulars from Khalils as well. Lilly was behind the bar that night and after doing some small catching up, she does tell me I have to order at the bar, there is no table service. I ordered a Blue Moon, Cheese Curds, and their burger. I get my cheese curds first and they were awesome. The burger on the other hand, I won't say it was terrible but, it wasn't great either. I don't blame the cook one bit, I'm sure it's just the brand MGs uses, the cook there is just as good as she was at Khalils. And the Blue Moon tasted the way a Blue Moon should. I will say this place does have a good amount of space. They have pool tables, Dart Boards, and gaming machines. They even have a stage for bands. I have only been here once so far and if it wasn't for Lilly and the cook there, I probably wouldn't return at all. I have yet to see Amanda who also worked at Khalils. I have yet to meet the owner of this place as well and look forward to trying their other foods.
