Made a large purchase in the end of October. everything arrived in a surprisingly fast amount of time except they sent me two complete rubber kits there were also a number of items on backorder. now after almost two and a half months I'm still waiting for a rear bumper and a hood emblem pretty common things for a Volkswagen right, but called today January 14th and was told it would be another two to three weeks for my bumper and no sign of the hood emblem now two and a half months is even a long time for arecreational car hobbyist but trying to make a living in this industry and having Parts take 3-months backorder that's impossible jbugs has definitely made a wolfsburgwest customer out of me for life I can go there and pick up my parts in the same day. any part I will never shop at jbugs again read more

Tried to order some parts from the website - kept getting an error message at checkout. Re-checked every step, carefully read through entire page and still could not check out. Called this morning to try to get it fixed, and our parts ordered. The guy was sarcastic, rude, acted as if he was to busy and to good to even let me finish a sentence. Jbugs used to be my go to place for parts. Past couple of orders I've placed, ive had to call for status update after a week with no notification. Each time ive called, I've been told "Oh, that part is on backorder." Was just told that the wheel cylinders I ordered are on backorder and will be 2 weeks before they get them, then another week to ship them to me. Thats after waiting almost a week since I ordered them. Advice: order from SoCal Imports, CIP1, Wolfsburg West, Pacific Customs, etc....anyone but Jbugs. read more

After spending close to $3000 with these jokers to restore my Volkswagen Beetle, I ordered upholstery (stock NOT custom) from them and it didn't fit my beetle. No where on their website did it state the upholstery was custom and could not be returned. Called to return the upholstery and they put me on hold for about 15 minutes while they edited their website to state the upholstery was non-refundable. This review pertains to online purchase, customer service experience, and return. Online purchase - Searching by vehicle didn't work very well. Much easier to just use the search and find via that route. Part received was not correct part though, even though during online purchase it asks for your vehicle and year to make sure it matches with the part. Customer Service - Sent email, received response within 24hrs saying to send part back. Return - Returned via 2-day shipping. Got busy and forgot, 2 weeks later, still no response. Prompted and was asked if I included the right information. Gave them tracking number. Day later was told item was found, but I wanted to cancel the exchange altogether. They don't refund the cost of shipping, so you'll pay shipping from them, and again to them if you have a return. If you don't have to return anything and know exactly what you want (and need), it's an online option to find parts for your VW. read more

Placed an order and shortly received an email saying that because it was a new card they would only be able to ship the items to the billing address not the shipping address. Ive ordered there many times before with that card, so I called and the customer service representative told me the only way I would be able to have the items shipped to a different address was to place the order using PayPal. So I asked him to cancel the original order, which he said he did and I received an email confirming that it was canceled. Two days later I noticed I've got 2 tracking numbers, and I've got 2 separate charges on my credit card. I called customer service again who said that it was never canceled and that the confirmation email was wrong and that someone on there "Back end" must have approved it. So now I have to return items that I should have never been charged for. I ordered a complete interior kit plus trunk liner, carpets and other items for a restoration of our 1971 Super Beetle. The parts arrived in a timely fashion, but one box was either not delivered by FEDEX, or was stolen from my porch. JBugs promptly reshipped the lost items without delay and at their expense. I had to return a couple of items (my mistake) and the return was refunded promptly. I had the interior professionally installed by a local shop (Fine Line, Rancho Cordova, CA) and could not be happier. The parts fit perfectly and were of good quality. I dealt with Tom and Jaime and found them an absolute pleasure to deal with. These are top notch people and in my opinion do not deserve the low ratings given in the past. Avoid Jbugs - there are nice alternatives. I waited 3 weeks for an ivory steering wheel and a black one arrived. I phoned, there was no apology and I was told they were no longer stocking ivory and had none. They then asked me to email a photo to prove it was black before they would provide any return and refund information, "Just email the photo and I'll get back to you." Two emails later and nothing. It's a $200 wheel. Now I'll need to file a complaint with the BBB and my Credit Card Company to get my money back. This place has really gone down hill. I wouldn't spend a dime there ever again. I live "local" about 45 mins away so I took a drive there last week to purchase a part I needed. When I arrived the doors were locked but the warehouse was open so I knew people were working. There was a sign on the door stating they had closed for walk in orders due to Covid 19. Nowhere on their website does it say anything about this. I talked to an employee who was outside and he said the were doing online orders only, no phone in orders and no walk in customers due to Covid 19. He stated that if I placed my order online and then called back with the order # that they would waive the shipping charges AND give me the 5% discount they normally give for walk ins. I said fine but still felt it was ridiculous. I placed my order online and called back with the order # like I was told to do and the guy on the other end said to call back in about an hour when the system updates and he would take care of it. I asked to speak to a manager and I was placed on hold for about 10 minutes and then told "Kyle" would return my call. After about an hour Kyle called me back and was EXTREMELY RUDE. He told me that I was lying because "there was no way any of my five guys would have told a customer that they weren't taking phone in orders." I explained to Kyle that my wife was in the car, the call had been on bluetooth and she heard the same thing I did. Kyle continued to talk over me even when I asked him to please stop. He became extremely agitated and increasingly rude. At one point he stated that there was no sense in continuing this conversation because I obviously misunderstood what was said. I stated that under no uncertain terms did I nor my wife misunderstand what was said. I have never heard a manager/supervisor or whatever Kyle's position is be so rude to a customer. I asked if I could speak to the owner, Gary and Kyle stated the Gary was in a meeting and that he would gladly have him call me. Kyle finally hung up on me after stating that yes he would waive the shipping charge and the 5% discount would also be applied. Guess what? Neither one of those things happened. I have still yet to receive a phone call from the owner Gary Vogl. Living in Southern California we are blessed to have so many VW parts stores in our state. With that being said, there are plenty of other distributors to buy from which I will do from now on. read more

We where really excited to order from jbugs so we could finally get out 1969 type 3 going. We ordered This is a 12 Volt, 30 Amp Bosch made generator and where unaware that we needed to send in the part, it was not specified anywhere on our receipt and we waited to weeks for a part that was never going to come. When I addressed it they made us feel dumb but sent us a paid shipping label for the inconvenience. Another month goes by and we get the part back and the pulley is missing and they tell me they aren't responsible and will not reimburse me for the part they broke/lost... The people on the phone where knowledgeable and willing to give you their opinion on all my questions pertaining to air cooled VW's. I ordered an item.($435 item) Got it and realized I ordered the wrong color. My fault. Called and asked it I could exchange it. They said no but I could send it back and reorder. Shipping was on me. They then charged me a 15% restocking fee. This wasn't mentioned in the call, but in checking the return info email said 10% restocking fee. I called today and they told me they did me a favor because it wasn't returnable. Some favor. It cost me $50 shipping, $ 65 restocking fee, and I reordered. I wish they hadn't done me the favor. If they had just been honest at the start I would have kept the one I had and saved $115. The just lied me to get me to reorder. There are lots of other places to get Bug parts. I don't have enough time to share how much we struggled getting Jbugs to work with us on providing proper parts that we ordered from them. Not only did they have us return their headliner on our own dime, they told us the second headliner, that they shipped after an exorbitant wait, was the correct one when, in fact, they came back saying it was wrong and the first version was actually correct! So they wanted us to mail back the second, very heavy, headliner on our own dime again! This back and forth of major confusion continued for over FIFTEEN weeks. My bus still sits, undrivable, with no windows in it because they have to be out for the headliner to be put in. I've used Jbugs for many purchases in the past and have for the most part, been satisfied. However, I was browsing thru their latest mailer and found a part listed at $59. Wow, great, I thought I'd purchase it. When I looked at the same item online, it was $75. When I called to explain the issue, I was told that prices tend to go up and that the online price was what it was selling for. Jbugs refused to honor catalogue price. It was obvious Jbugs only care about money and profit and not the VW enthusiasts we are. After going back and forth thru email, it was very clear your customer service SUCKS! If you will not honor mailer prices, you need to either not send mailer, or send a note saying prices subject to change!!! Let me start by saying, I don't usually write reviews, but after the way I have been treated by these business!!. If you want rude staff with an attitude, and sub par costumer service, then you went to the right place. After talking to their supervisor J, I can understand where all of this is coming from. Back in November, I made a large purchase of $400+ included an upholstery set for my Karmann Ghia. Parts arrived fast and everything seem to be in order until I tried to install the upholstery for the back seat, it was way to narrow. The Karmann Ghia coupe back seats back and bottom board measure 42 1/2", and the set I got is 39 1/2" wide. Of course I contacted them, and this is were the problems started. After a couple of days of back and forth e-mails, and receiving help of the only rep that had no nasty attitude during the whole process, I received an e-mail stating that they have contacted the manufacturer of the product and they send me was the correct one. Also after checking on their catalog, it states that its supposed to be 40.25". I call them again, and was transferred to J. the sales supervisor, and after again some nasty attitude he told me "I will send you a return shipping label and issue a refund", and before I can finished saying thank you, he hung up the phone. Well that was 3 days ago, and still no return label. Now I'm out $229.45 on a useless set. So I will recommend you stay away from this company, as everything will be ok until an issue with your order arises. Almost $1000 in parts already purchase from them, but no more. Tried ordering $300 worry of parts and was charged twice for them and then they called me and told me my card was declined because they tried to charge me a third time. They also said that my billing address was wrong when they ran my card the first time, which it isn't and has never been. When I called to straighten this all out I was treated very poorly by Caesar. 0 stars.....if there was a -3 stars, they would get that..I spent a lot of money at JBugs over the last couple of years. To finish off my 74 VW Super Beatle, I purchased a set of chrome rims and chrome center caps. To my horror, the rims are showing "black smudges" after only having them a couple of months. Note, my car stays in the garage. I tried to clean the smudges with chrome cleaner, thinking it was dirt, but basically the chrome on these rims has disappeared!!!!! I called to complain, but only got a "so sorry". I also told the customer service person to discontinue selling those rims to your customers because they're worthless. The sales guy went on to say that they'll continue to get them from that manufacture. I told the customer service guy that you're better off not carrying that product at all so that you don't piss off your customers. Warning to people, even though they continue to sell very very poor quality rims don't get sucked in, don't buy them read more
