Stopped by this spot once; the BBQ was ok, I had high hopes but unfortunately the expectation was high because of the good reviews but it wasn't a good bbq - the meat wasn't rendered and the ribs were dry. We had it for pickup, there is plenty of parking, customer service was decent; and overall easy to pick up to go order. Interior is cozy.

I grew up coming here and boy was I excited to come back as it's been couple years and I was on this side of town. The quality has declined immensely. JC wasn't there like usual which makes sense. But I just spent $30+ for a plate of sadness. The garlic bread is so small now and missing the garlic flavor, the "bbq beans" had kidney beans?!!! Why? That was a bowl of chili. Did not smell pleasant. They even match the beans pictured on the menu. And the All-in-one staff that was working would not exchange it for the potato salad. So pick your poison. Chicken was ok, ribs aren't falling off anymore. I'm disappointed to say the least. It's sj so I should expect to much but they were the plug at one point.

Interior. Small space.

Tiny place serving up delicious BBQ. The beef ribs are to die for! So juicy and succulent! Expect brusque, curt service, especially on the phone. But when you consider it's literally just one guy running the whole show, then it's understandable. The DoorDash page and website are confusing, because they offer salad dressing choices, but there is actually only one dressing option. It's homemade, creamy, and delicious.

This place is a hidden gem in the San Jose/Saratoga area. The barbecue here is homemade and the shop has been open since 1979. The food was delicious and made to order over a cast-iron grill. I ordered a barbecue sandwich, hot link sandwich, and potato salad. All my orders were delicious, hot and fresh. The owner, Omar, was a very friendly and kind individual who made my order. He told me they have been around for 27 years. I've eaten here before and commented, "I returned because his barbecue was delicious." The restaurant is small and very old school in feeling. Omar told me that in the future, they will be enlarging his restaurant and that should be happening in the next year. I look forward to visiting this establishment again and wish him the best as he continues to make delicious barbecue.

Gotta love J.C's! It's a classic pitstop after we've worked up our appetites shopping at the mall. We've been coming to this establishment for multiple generations, and they never disappoint. We've always bring a cooler since we often have leftovers. The meat is always cooked well, the sauce is flavorful, and a personal favorite is their potato salad. Everything comes out really quickly, too.

Atmosphere is a small and nestled in area that has alot small local businesses that are amazing. Since only one person runs orders, cooks, and serves. He is a damn hard ass worker. I give him that. Amazing service great food

Rib tips, 1 beef rib and chicken. Yum yum yum. Mouthwatering.

JC's famous BBQ certainly lives up to its famous name. I've tried many BBQ establishments in the area and JC''s is number one in my opinion . First, the BBQ sauce is very delicious. It has just the perfect amount of spice. The meat is very tender and grilled to perfection and cooked to order. The food is fresh and served piping hot to perfection. The sides are also worth a shout out.. You can choose from potato salad, beans or green salad. I especially love the homemade salad dressing. The service is outstanding. The owner of the establishment is very nice and accommodating. The menu has lots of variety to choose from including a daily lunch special. You definitely get your moneys worth. The atmosphere is very nice, comfortable and family friendly. I highly recommend JC's BBQ.

Todays special; ribs and chicken with 2 sides baked beans and potato salad and it comes with garlic bread

Meaning you place your order and pay through their QR code menu. Even though it was self-serve, the staff was friendly and they came to check in on our table a couple of times to refill our drinks. The food was fantastic! As soon as you park you can smell the smoker going and it makes your mouth water. I ordered the ribs with a side of beef and beans and Mac and cheese. The cornbread comes with the platter. Ribs were St. Louis style with the bits of cartilage at the end that I really love to chew on. Meat was delicious and fall off the bone. Bbq sauce is ok the sweet side by balances well with a few drops of hot sauce. Portions are very health. The beans were delicious and almost reminded me of chili. Mac and cheese was on point. Overall I highly recommend checking them out. Whether you are in the area or just looking for a great bbq joint in the bay, Jackie's place won't disappoint. For the vegetarians, try their jackfruit "pulled pork" bowl! Also their desserts selection is amazing. Will have to come back to try their peach cobbler and lemon pie!

The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

I've been to 3 others Redwood City BBQ, South Winchester BBQ (San Jose), and Canyon's BBQ (Castro Valley) and I've reviewed most of those quite favorably, except for 1. But they have about 4 others that I haven't been but are on my list. I guess now I'll know they are more the same than they are different. I knew walking in that I was going to like it. A strong aroma of wood smoke hugs you upon entering. A cool mural outside, lots of beers and bbq on the tables, cool tunes that was all over the place genre wise. 2 Meat Combo ($26/4.5*) Crazy solid combo. Not as juicy as I would prefer but between the perfect smoke content and their seasoning just makes me happy enough. Brisket: Their brisket is awesome. Not as juicy as some of the top notch places here in the Bay, but the flavor was perfect for me. Assertive smokiness without being overbearing. Get a piece with a good layer of fat and it was basically hearty beef bacon. I rarely put sauce on brisket but theirs is not bad, maybe just a dot or 2. Ribs: Also drier than what I like but the flavor and meaty texture was enough for me. Definitely have to pull these off the bone a bit, does not easily fall off, which I actually prefer. I like toothsome versus mushy meat. These ribs do have a layer of bbq sauce cooked into them, so it has a sweet and tangy flavor already in it. But they still can accept extra sauce, as it will not only moisten the ribs further but it will amp up the tang and sweetness that pork ribs are natural for. Tried 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. The beans aren't the super sweet kind, which I liked. More chili-like very hearty and complimenting to the smoky bbq. The slaw was perfect, crisp with a creamy yet slightly sweet dressing. Crazy good, I could actually eat their sides alone as a meal. Their corn bread here is strange. It is cooked in a sheetpan and cut into squares much like a brownie. But that square is then griddled til golden brown so I totally thought it was garlic bread at first. The other bbq spots I tried from this same company didn't make corn bread like that, so this was a first for me. Probably the only miss for me here. Also tried a half pound of Tri Tip ($20/4*) Very meaty that they were able to keep it a nice pink medium, which I like. But much milder in smoke than their brisket and ribs. I ended up making sandwiches with these at home. They are sliced pretty thick so you may have to slice some of them further. It bites easier in thinner slices versus monster thick slices that will pull out of the bread with each bite. I learned that on this out so just throwing out a tip. A solid bbq throwdown with a cold frosty one, plus lots of leftovers for work lunches the next few days, is just an out I can repeat over and over. Glad I found this spot!

You cant really find a skewer place with this type of vibe, def a spot i like to take my out of town friends to for a good time I love getting the fried tofu skins, this is my favorite skewer to get. I actually prefer the regular skewers than the mini skewers just because the mini is so small you have to really bite into the metal stick (which can stab your mouth if your not careful, especially if you end up drinking too much) razor clams are bomb here! Yes they add hella chillies in here so you have to pick it out, but its hard to find places with a razor clam dish that is super tasty and flavorful The alcoholic drinks here are super unique and interesting, my method is to go for the cutest branding, and just order it, and suprisingly it ends up working in my favor LOL my favorite part, is the seasoning they use on all the skewers! that classic chinese taste :D

They're all coated with the same seasonings here so it's easy to get tired of so I always order a few of the grilled vermicelli oysters which are so tasty, and I love all the garlic it comes with! Some other good skewers are the chicken skin, pork belly, and corn. Love the drinks here too, most recently noticed they added an alcoholic blind box to the menu and it was so exciting to try 12 different mystery shots. Even though I did not enjoy half of the drinks, this is probably the most fun drinking concept I've seen at a restaurant and I'd absolutely order it again. They also carry cans as well that are not listed and you can just grab it from the fridge and pay at the register. There is a good amount of seating inside and there are a few tables outside as well. I ordered my stout and i let it sit as the foam settled and realized that the pour did not fill up the glass. I let the staff know and they fixed the issue by topping off my drink. The staff are very friendly and understanding. During my first visit, we ordered the ribs and brisket as well as a tri tip salad. The brisket was very tender and juicy. I usually avoid ordering briskets since most BBQ places in San Jose that I've been to have made them very dry. There was only one piece that wasn't juicy which I expected since it had no fat on it. It was still tender and not dried out. The ribs were also good. It was tender and didn't stick to the bone as much but it wasn't as tender where it just slides off the bone. The seasoning on the ribs was neutral and the BBQ Pit have their own special bbq sauce (regular and spicy) which goes well with the meat. My wife ordered the tri tip salad and she enjoyed it. I stole some of her greens to balance the meat and beer and the veggies were fresh. The salad came with cornbread but I didn't try it. On my second visit, I decided to get the tri tip woith a side of baked potato and coleslaw. The baked potato was $3 extra. The tri tip had really good flavor and texture. It ripped apart easily when pulling. The coleslaw was ok. I might get the mac and cheese or beans next time. My wife ate the baked potato and ate most of it. I tried a little bit where it was just the potato and it was not overcooked and not too undercooked. It was easy to scoop with the fork without too much effort. If you are in the area and craving for BBQ, I highly recommend trying this place. The portion is not as big as BBQ joints in Texas or KC but they are on par with the ones around San Jose. The pricing is decent and like I mentioned, is also on par to San Jose pricing. If you have a big group, there are plenty of tables to accommodate folks. The location is close to the highway so that's a plus. The staff is very helpful and will give you a good recommendation if you are debating on what to order.
