Came to Discovery Fusion BBQ on a Saturday night with a group of 8 and there was no wait! They definitely have a very cool theme going on here, but the restaurant seems a bit run down compared to when they first opened. The skewers took a while to come out, but were pretty tasty. However, I would not recommend the fried noodles... they were quite soggy. Super salty meal and food was just okay. Servers would not tell us which skewers came out when they dropped them off at the table either. Would come back if I really wanted skewers and this was the only place open.. GET THE EGGPLANT THOUGH :-)

The theme is pretty fun. If you love the bright lights and to party it up with friends, I would say give it a try. The restaurant has a lot of tables inside with a descent amount of workers on the weekend. I came around 5pm and there were few tables occupied. By the time we left, the whole restaurant was filled. I would say some of the skewers were great. The downside is, you're getting the same flavor for all the skewers. The only difference you would get is the texture. I'm not a fan of hot and spicy food so this place was not go me. I was able to handle most, but I don't think I would come here again unless someone wanted to come or celebrate their birthday. I would say their beef and chicken skin was good (chicken skin tasted somewhat sweeter). It definitely has a party type of vibe with a karaoke machine in the back. It seems like you strictly order through a QR code.

looking for an authentic chinese bbq skewer spot? look no further ! discovery fusion bbq is service authentic chinese bbq skewers with a variety of options to choose from. the cyberpunk neon signs, the selection of drinks upon arrival, and the liveliness is through the roof. it's honestly a great spot to just meet up and catch up with friends while listening to karaoke and enjoying potentially a late night snack. my sister and i arrived when they had just opened and we were able to get seated right away. we ordered from a variety of meats ranging from sausage, pork, beef and lamb. we also added a few veggies and dishes like hot & sour soup and cucumber salad. the highlight of our meal was the grilled scallop with garlic vermicelli. it really reminded us of a restaurant in HK that we would go to. just a heads up that every skewer seemed to be seasoned exactly the same. it is on the saltier end so it left us needing to chug water post-meal. the beer honestly also paired nicely with the skewers as well. the seasoning is salty yet spicy and we enjoyed it a lot more on the lamb. it kinda tasted like cumin was also incorporated as well. i personally would come again with friends but i genuinely wished it was a little less salty!

the food was okay there's definitely multiple of better places skewer wise. the aesthetics were very nice! i also noticed they had a karaoke spot/stage and it noted if there is a singer everyone would be charged extra for the singer being there. we got the mystery drink box in the drinks section and was excited to try it out, there was beer, wine, soju and such but one bottle was RANCID it was almost straight vinegar and idk if they did that on purpose but it was unpleasant just even the smell you could tell was just vinegar and something but nothing that you should be drinking a shot of..

We came with a party of 4 on a Thursday night and the place was pretty filled. There were luckily a few empty tables so we were seated quickly but those empty tables filled up fast. I was so excited to eat that I forgot to take pics of everything. I've had a favorite skewer bar for a decade now and so I was shocked to find that Discovery Fusion BBQ has the same flavor profile as my favorite skewers place. I loved being able to order from my phone because ordering skewers with a server is so stressful to keep track of lol Every skewer was delicious!! We also ordered some side dishes which are not offered at other places. Definitely recommend the fried milk, mini japanese sweet potatoes, and garlic eggplant. The food came out very fast and service was so attentive. I think they came with a new water carafe like 3 times without us asking. They have a karaoke section but I think it's not open to patrons. It seems like they hire someone to sing and charge patrons a couple dollars extra if there's a performer that day. Not too sure how it works but I'm intrigued to find out. Definitely recommend this place!

If you're a bigger party then make a reservation! My group of 12-13 people made a reservation a few days before and got promptly seated upon arrival. The inside is interesting - the neon lights and karaoke set up in the back of the restaurant makes you wonder what you walked into. Located in a parking lot with H Mart and 85 Degree Bakery, parking is abundant due to turnover on the market side. You scan the QR code at the table and do all your ordering there. The items come out quickly and are seasoned fairly well. As someone who was craving skewers, this place hit the spot. And if you're worried about not being full on skewers, they also have other foods available like fried rice and grilled squid. Maybe it was because we beat the rush, but service was on point and bright the food out in a timely manner.

This place is special to me. We came here when my partner and I first got together and then again for our anniversary. We love how friendly the service is and it's just a reliable, amazing tasting place to get juicy spiced lamb skewers and croaker. Paired with the fried rice? Chef's kiss. The decorations make you feel like you're in cyberpunk city Chongqing and I love taking pictures of it. They seem to be constantly improving the vibe and adding new items to their menu, while their staples remain top of the line. Love discovery. Will definitely be back to sing karaoke.

This eccentric late night Chinese BBQ restaurant is the perfect place to eat out if you want to hangout with some friends or just looking for something to do on a night out. I celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here and we had a fun time trying Chinese alcohol and other interesting eats. We got to try cicadas, which in my opinion were big and nutty. Both my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Along with the cicadas, we got several skewers of spicy lamb, liver, and beef. They were alright, but they did seem a bit over seasoned. We also got stir fried squid and octopus. I really liked the squid while my boyfriend preferred the octopus. The octopus came with rice cakes and was tangy with a good texture. For me, I liked the flavoring of the squid better and it was less tough. The Chinese alcohol we got was alright but I just really liked the design of it. I'm looking forward to going here again on a night out.

Sooo many skewers!! They all taste kind of the same, but all very yum!! Would not recommend the balut though, somehow the egg white is very hard... and I don't think it's supposed to be. Fried chicken was very good! Crawfish too! Parking is a bit rough since it's in a busy plaza, but you can't miss it by the aesthetic. Inside and outside, there's tons of lights. I've never seen a place with this kind of decor before! The servers were attentive and the skewers just kept coming. Not cheap, but a very fun experience and ambiance.

This is a very unique style of restaurant. Very flashy colorful neon lights and with live singer. Stylish and different here in Santa Clara county. One really interesting is their menu. It have insects, snail and etc. very exotic menu. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 4 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : ( 3 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean and new ( about little over a year) 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are average . ( must be inflation ) 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Chinese food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in China. Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

Another asian fusion bbq we tried and loved! Again, these neon lights are always so fun and makes the vibes/mood feel great! We ordered the Blazin Fusion Delight which came with perfect amount of food portions for party of 4. I really liked their chicken skin, lamb, and pork belly skewers. I would orders those again along with their golden fried rice. I also absolutely love the chinese decorations too.

Pretty standard skewer bar with the vibes of what the streets of China feel like. Fully decorated in neon lights and have a singer on the weekends. However, this place is pretty pricey for meat and insects on a stick, averaging $40-70 per person depending on what you get. One thing I did notice on their menu is that on the weekends, they have an automatic $10 extra charge PP for singer fee which I thought was a little odd. They have a unique menu and variety that most skewer places don't offer, and its innards and unique insects that are usually found in Asia. I would recommend going when its not busy as I don't think its worth the 2-3 hour wait when it first opened. Went on the random Tuesday night and there were a couple tables filled but nothing too hectic.

So my friends and i came here on a sunday night and we were surprised by how vibrant everything looked. We made reservations for 5 people but probably didnt need it since it was pretty empty. They were having karaoke night so there were singers on stage. It was super loud and we could barely hear each other talk. We were seated immediately and you scan for the menu and order from your phone. After we ordered, the food came out fairly fast. We got the combo for 4 people to share and it definitely was a good amount of food for us to share. My favorite was the beef skewers, veggies, fried rice and shrimp. Overall the food was great! But i didnt like how it was so loud inside that we couldnt even talk or catch up with my friends. The auto tip charge for the singers was crazy as this is entertainment that we didnt even enjoy. The service was alright and there were a few servers that couldnt speak english so it was difficult communicating with them.

    Do they take reservations?

Yes, they do! Just call at least 24 ahead of time. My party (of 12) was able to make a reservation over the phone.

Can you go to just get drinks?

Is there AYCE and how much?

    No, there is no AYCE.

    Is it kid friendly lol?

They seemed fine with my 17- and 12-year old, even at 12:30am (it was New Years Day). In fact, they have a finger zapper game that you can play, which is great to keep kids occupied!

Can people not over 21 come to this restaurant bar?

Yes you can, they only check if you order alcohol.

Hello will you be opened on jan 16 (MLK day)?

    Yes we are open

They don't have any, the singer is paid by the establishment.

Yes, there are skewer options that are meat-free. However, there may be cross contamination on the grill.

    Do you take reservation?

They have a Yelp waitlist available upon arrival, but not sure about reservation.

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.

This time it was almost inedible -- tough and chewy. It seemed like the formerly excellent European octopus was subbed with local raw octopus, and precooked with no knowledge of how to prepare this ingredient. The arroz con mariscos contained more of the same badly prepared octopus, and very overcooked squid -- also tough and rubbery. The texture of the rice was not as it had been in the past either. It really seems that a change in the kitchen has lost their way. We may try once again in the future to see if it was just a badly off night, but I'm not hopeful.
