Been to Discovery Fusion so many times for late night bites, it never disappoints! I've noticed that depending on the day, the later you come, the louder it gets as they have live karaoke here. This place has such fun decorations and I love all the neon lights here as it's very well lit up inside. My top 3 favorite skewers are the beef, enoki, and a-choy. They're all coated with the same seasonings here so it's easy to get tired of so I always order a few of the grilled vermicelli oysters which are so tasty, and I love all the garlic it comes with! Some other good skewers are the chicken skin, pork belly, and corn. Love the drinks here too, most recently noticed they added an alcoholic blind box to the menu and it was so exciting to try 12 different mystery shots. Even though I did not enjoy half of the drinks, this is probably the most fun drinking concept I've seen at a restaurant and I'd absolutely order it again. I couldn't stop looking at it, as it was the perfect intersection of having just enough decor to not be too busy and still very pleasing to see. They had karaoke on a stage for anyone to hop on and sing and extensive seating. I like that they also lightly heat up the hot plate to keep your food warm, as most places have it for show, it seems. We ordered 30+ items comprising most of the veggies on the menu as well as several cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, pork belly, and the list goes on. This food is extra fried so it's oilier, spicier, and much saltier. They lay on the seasoning very intensely. I don't have much of a spice tolerance, so I had to take most of mine to go because it got to a point where my mouth was burning for 30 minutes, and I had to completely stop. The theme is pretty fun. If you love the bright lights and to party it up with friends, I would say give it a try. The restaurant has a lot of tables inside with a descent amount of workers on the weekend. I came around 5pm and there were few tables occupied. By the time we left, the whole restaurant was filled. I would say some of the skewers were great. The downside is, you're getting the same flavor for all the skewers. The only difference you would get is the texture. I'm not a fan of hot and spicy food so this place was not go me. I was able to handle most, but I don't think I would come here again unless someone wanted to come or celebrate their birthday. I celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here and we had a fun time trying Chinese alcohol and other interesting eats. We got to try cicadas, which in my opinion were big and nutty. Both my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Along with the cicadas, we got several skewers of spicy lamb, liver, and beef. They were alright, but they did seem a bit over seasoned. We also got stir fried squid and octopus. I really liked the squid while my boyfriend preferred the octopus. The octopus came with rice cakes and was tangy with a good texture. Bright Neon Lights. That's the first thing I saw when I went to the restaurant. I went with a group of 6 on a Thursday night, and we got seated immediately. Parking tends to be crammed during the night, but there is a "secret" parking lot behind the H-Mart that has plenty of space. Inside, there are a lot of neon lights and comfy couches, which reminded me of asian karaoke places. The restaurant also has live singing performances on Wednesdays to Sundays after 8pm (note that you would have to pay a $2 tip to singer if you eat at that timeframe). The air conditioning was blasting on high so it was quite cold in the place too. Ordering the food was a bit messy. All of us ordered on our phones, and we had to browse the clunky menu ui. Also, it was difficult for all of us to track which items we ordered since all our orders get put into one list afterwards. My group ordered many different types of skewers ranging from meat, tofu and veggies. The price of a skewer is around 4 dollars, which is very reasonable. I thought all the skewers I tried tasted good and spicy. Note that you can't adjust the spiciness of each skewer, so prepare to have a decent spice tolerance. My favorite was probably the single lamb skewer ($3) A big issue I had was how fast the skewers cooled down. They do have a warming plate to put the skewers on, but it is not very effective. The AC being on full blast also made the skewers colder by the minutes. I assume this won't be an issue for groups that didn't order many skewers; however, for groups who order lots of skewers, it could be a point of caution. Service was decent, but it was sometimes difficult to tell which batch of skewers we were getting since they get piled up. For our group of 6, we had to pay a non-negotiable 20% tip, which is to be expected since we were a group. Overall, it's a unique restaurant with a wide selection of skewers. Ordering is down via QR code and the menu is extremely extensive with a bunch of exotic meats, weird drinks. The skewers and most of the dishes are good, but the flavors on the meats can get repetitive. I don't think there was a dish that I didn't like, but the my favorite was def the spicy eggplant. *LOCATION* This new restaurant is in the same plaza as H mart and several other popular restaurants/shops. Parking can be a pain so I'd recommend going to the back lot to try your luck. *WAIT TIME* Our party of 7 had a birthday reservation for Sunday 5:30pm. A few people were ~20 minutes late but they were still able to seat everybody else first! *FOOD* -Skewers: pretty pricy for the amount of meat that you get on each skewer, the flavors end up all tasting the same after awhile -Meat pies: flaky outside with pretty good fillings inside -Rice cakes: decent amount of yummy octopus, super spicy sauce -Strawberry soju: tasted like straight alcohol with a hint of flavoring -Mystery box: this is a fun little game with mini aluminum unmarked bottles that contained different mystery liquids (vodka, vinegar, soda, etc), the bottles seemed kinda dirty/gross to me so I tried not to think about it too much LOL -Soy milk: nice and refreshing! *SERVICE* Typical service that you'd find in an asian restaurant. Our biggest complaint was that it was hot AF in there as it didn't seem like there was any A/C or air circulation. We were all literally sweating the whole time during our meal... On the up side, they were able to store our birthday cake for us until we were ready for it! *AMBIENCE* This place has a super fun vibe with crazy neon lights on the outside and really cool decor on the inside. Discovery Fusion BBQ is located in a plaza and parking can be hard to find sometimes since H Mart, 85 Bakery, Yi Fang Tea and a couple other businesses are located in the same plaza area. Came here on a Tuesday night around 7pm and got seated in 5 minutes. There is a tablet available when you walk in to add your name to the waitlist if no staff member is at the podium. This place is so aesthetic with vibrant colored lights outside and inside the restaurant. Definitely a fun restaurant if youre coming with a group. When seated, there is a QR code at the table to scan to view the menu and order directly from your device. The food doesnt come out all at the same time, but it does come out fast. I loved the cucumber salad just to offset the taste from the skewers since its all seasoned the same. There is a container already at the table to put your finished skewer sticks in. read more

One of the most authentic Chinese bbq skewers place in the Bay Area! The decor, neon lighting and atmosphere immediately transports you to an asian night market in China. The menu is extensive and has all kinds of seafood, meat and vegetable options! I've been wanting to try this place and was able to go for dinner with some friends from out of state. I made reservations over the phone. There's a 6 person minimum for reservations. They told me if you come around 5-5:30pm there's usually no line but once it's 6:30pm the wait gets really long. Parking gets super busy in the plaza so it can be hard to get a spot. We got there 10-15 min late so we had to wait a bit but they were able to accommodate us still. The decorations & aesthetic of the place was really nice and there was also a live performer singing & playing the guitar so it was pretty loud. We had ordered the food using our phones. My favorite out of the bunch were the pork belly, lamb & pork skewers. The seafood pancake was a bit too soggy for my taste and the lobster tails felt like mostly soft shell & they were tiny. The portions are really small for the price. We paid $110 w/ tip & tax & it didn't really fill us up. I'd go once to try but don't think it's worth the price. read more

This is definitely the nicest looking skewer place I've ever been to in the US! The food itself was authentic and delicious too! They had an extensive selection of drinks right at the entrance to choose from. We got some fruity alcohol, and it was in such a cute bottle~ They also had some fun shots/game options for the party, but we didn't get this time. The food menu was massive too, from starters to skewers to main dishes (different kinds of noodles & fried rice), and then desserts! Their dishes were flavorful, and skewers were well-seasoned. (Slightly saltier than I wanted, but I feel like skewers are pretty salty in general) Overall I really liked the variety this place offered! I was happy to hear that this skewer bar is in the Cupertino area, and even more surprised that it was in the quiet, family friendly, de Anza plaza. This place opens late! Until 2am on weekend nights. Has a sort of "viet cafe"/Chinese HK /bar vibes with loud music, neon lights, bottle service and late night eat and drink. They have a cool electronic fake "fire" in the middle, and a singer who performs songs + requested songs, plastic cherry blossom tree, and large refrigerators showcasing their many alcoholic drinks. My friend and I came around 6:20pm on a Thursday night. But we were able to be seated right away. I was worried bc I heard some reviews say that they had to wait 30-45 min on a weeknight at 630pm. We used the QR code to order a bunch of items off our first round and we got it relatively fast. We also got the matcha soju cocktail which was delicious, a server opened and served us our first shot as well. Later we got the yuzu cocktail which was great too. What I recommend -tofu skin -the steam white bao bread -chicken hearts -ox penis (one of their specialties, if you dare hehe) We also got their mini lamb and beef skewers but they were so small and barely had any meat on them. The corn was ok. The mushroom and eggplant were hard to eat, the mushroom and eggplant were hard to take a bite out of. We also tried their street corn. It's sweet but it was not that great. Otherwise, the spices they use to flavor their skewers was delicious. It was a little spicy and had a kick of flavor. I enjoyed it a lot. After we ordered our second round, it took them over 30 minute after we placed it for them to bring it out. The person who seemed like the owner said it was because there were a lot of people who came in, so the orders on their machine gets backed up. Which means the reason why we got our food so quickly the first time was because there were a lot less people in the restaurant. We paid a little over $100 for two people and we were satisfied. It is pricy for what it is. I think the move here is to order some of their other bigger items, such as trays, veggies, meat dishes, and order skewers as a side. Or else you'll be racking up money just trying to get full off skewers. There are cheaper skewer places with bigger portions if you go a couple minutes out. Also a note, we sat away from the singer, but we still ended up paying $2 singer tip ($1 per person) at the end of our night. My friend thought it was funny but prob not a good idea to charge extra for performances we didn't know was going to happen. I can see why people would love to come and drink /party . It's a good new addition to the neighborhood. This is a good place to try at least once, but I'd rather go elsewhere to have dinner. read more

I saw a lot of videos about this place so I had to check it out as it looked really cool. The parking lot can be pretty busy at times. If you see a place with a lot of neon lights on the outside windows, you have arrived. Upon entering, there was a lot of neon lights/decor as well as a fridge full of interesting drinks! You can also hear music/people singing. When our table was ready, we were able to scan the QR code and begin ordering items. You can keep ordering as you go. It was my first time going, so I pretty much just let my friends who have been there a few times take the lead. They ordered a bunch of skewers and some other dishes that I couldn't identify. The skewers came out pretty quickly and everything (meat, veggies, bread) was flavored/seasoned really well!! I ended up really enjoying the buns and the toast skewer. Great experience!
