Waited 10 minutes to get to the register because a stupid store employee was making a purchase and needed to know the price of everything, how many points she was gonna get and had to keep looking behind her to see how many people she was holding up. Good job!! Your clearance purchase of sweats lost a non clearance purchase. Cancelling my whole order now. I'd rather spend more at a store with employees who have a brain. read more

I just don't appeal to JCPenny. It's an opinion, but they don't seem to have anything that grasps my attention. There is one item that they sell that superseded every other store by far. The quality of their Stafford White Tee Shirts is not going to better than it is, due to the Viral like feedback that I hear about them. Sorta pricey. Something like $38-48 for 6pk and sometimes get the second pack for 50% off. The store looks clean only because of the JCPenny idea to conserve energy and cut half the lights. My only time in the fitting room and some super still and quiet person enters a nearby dressing room and just sits there motionless, hence I'm struggling trying to rush a try the XL Stafford Tee on. Yes I ripped the bag.. lol. This guy was realistically a bored loss prevention or a experienced creeper. I won't tolerate creepy dressing room activities. It's very hard to find anyone anywhere, except at the main checkout stations, which leaves me to wonder if I should spend another 30 minutes in line waiting to pay. Ha Ha... It's too bad the possible loss prevention was in the dressing room... check out would have been a lot faster. At checkout, I pull out cash, but am suddenly intercepted with a quite impressive credit card pitch..!! Apply for the card in seconds and if accepted, 20% extra off and if denied, still get an extra 15% off. I went for the bait and unfortunately was accepted for a $1,000 credit limit. So now I've long pay off the Stafford Tee Shirts and recently wandered the store looking for anything ( tasteful ) with no such luck. Again, it's only one person's opinion. I'm sure there many people with all sorts of tastes that might find JCPenny a treasure box. Prices are reasonable for the merchandise that JCPenny displays at their stores. read more

NO STARS FOR YOU!! - Yelp wouldn't let me post my review unless I selected at least one star however they do not even deserve ONE!! Optical Department is nothing but a SCAM ... June special = 2 pair of eyeglasses $99 only in June ... BULL$HIT!! Frames clearly marked $99 on the lens yet when it comes time to purchase they tried charging me $129 - the price from a 'hidden' tag. When I pointed this out they quickly removed the $99 sticker and said they could 'try' giving me a $10 discount. When this was unacceptable I was told 'well you could pick out a $99 pair' ... I thought that's what I did when I selected the first pair!!! After 10 min I took my prescription and walked out. BAIT AND SWITCH AT IT'S FINEST!!! ... Weights & Measures will surely find this interesting. On a positive note, the doctor that did the eye exam was awesome - although that doesn't surprise me since they are not connected with JCP - with the exception of having an office in their store. read more

JCPenney has a rotten apple at this location, as one cashier was dishonest and borderline predatory. This cashier recommended that customers apply for the store credit card, but appeared to be coaching customers into entering income amounts in order to be approved. In my case, the cashier offered $10 off for applying. However, when it came time to checkout, all of a sudden the cashier mentioned that I would have to spend $25 and conduct multiple transactions. Not what I was promised. At this point, I asked to speak to the manager. The cashier pointed out another employee, who I spoke with. Come to find out this person was not the manager. Eventually, I did speak with the actual manager, but the damage was done. read more

Customer service here is awful! They close the doors 10-15 minutes early. I was trying to leave thru JC Penny but had to go all the way around to exit and get to my car. They were having a $10 kids' hair cut deal today so we went. I was happy with my child's haircut, even though the hair stylist was really slow. The deals on hair products were awesome. Unfortunately unless you want to drive a bit this is the only Sephora option. The employees inside the Sephora in JCP are the worst: they don't want to help and when they finally help you they match you with the wrong shade, then you go to return the product and they act like they can't do it because they aren't a "stand alone" store, finally the "managers" in there do not have any customer service skills. This particular one hardly has any products! I'm going to need this store to pick a struggle have crappy employees or have no product but at least the employees are decent. Excellent results from Maritza in the Salon! This was my first time at JCP Salon Moreno Valley Mall, and Maritza impressed me so much from start to finish. She listened to what I wanted to do with my hair color and cut. She gave me her undivided attention throughout the entire appointment. She was friendly, professional, PERFECT! She spent time really getting my foils precise and accurate. She checked back with me several times to see if my color was finished processing. She was gentle removing the foils and spent time shampooing me and applying the toner, all while carrying on a pleasant, intelligent conversation. To top it all off, Maritza then cut and blow dried with gentle yet thorough precision and even spent extra time making sure each section was cut and styled so nicely. I was so impressed and she didn't even mind that I used a coupon, I could see she wasn't offended or bothered at my coupon. I am a fan and will come back to Maritza for maintenance on my color and cut. This salon is lucky to have her as part of their team. She really impressed me. read more

Her name is Robyn ! She always takes care of me and brings so much magic to my hair ! Horrible service in the jewelry department. I spent 15 minutes browsing for a necklace for my mother's birthday and was never acknowledged. There were 3 associates working in the jewelry department at the time. Two people came after me and were immediately assisted. I waited another 15 minutes because I decided on a necklace and still was not helped. I left the store and called the jewelry department and asked to speak to a manager only to be told that they were all on vacation. I asked to speak to whoever was in charge and the person directed me to Anna who said that she was a cashier supervisor. I explained the situation to Anna and she was very apologetic as I told her that I am a JC Penney cardholder and would be taking my business elsewhere. Very disappointed in the service. Customer service here is horrible .. I went into the kids department to do a return . I was returning items that had all tags attached , and the receipt . I unfortunately was helped my an associate named Cindy . She was extremely rude and kept saying the transaction couldn't be found . She was typing in the numbers instead of scanning my receipt. Which she was typing in numbers wrong . I told her isn't it easier to just scan the barcode on the receipt? Oh and that's when she flipped out . Finally someone came over to help. I hate this store, I am so glad to have found out that they are building another one in the are at the Inland center mall. Sitting here waiting for help in home dept and they put call in twice already, top it off no prices on vacuums at all. There are 14 vacuums out of the boxes and there are 45 vacuum boxes with no prices on any of them. I guess another interested in selling anything. After waiting for the sales associates who was working on her computer at the time we walked in there were no other customers in the store at that time we entered sales associate once she acknowledged us she couldn't focus on one customer at a time sale associate kept stopping to tend to other things and people instead of finishing one customer at at a time. I was looking for a hair stylist who is good at cutting short hair and I followed some reviews on a couple of stylists in our J.C. Penney salon and I chose Maritza and she is very, very good. She really knows what she is doing and she has natural talent at it. I have gone to her twice now and each time has been a good experience and my hair grows out nicely also which is an added benefit and that is a mark of a good stylist. I'm so glad I found her because she is also very pleasant to work with and I've had some stylists that I simply won't to go back to based on the way they want to gossip about others or want me to agree to their strong opinions about something. I don't come here for a gossip session, or to argue an issue, I come for a pleasant experience to just get my hair cut. Thank you, Maritza.. you are doing a great job! read more

There is not enough help to wait on you at this store. They are all busy ringing people up and the line barely moves. The cashiers actually went and got other items for the shoppers at times while they're standing to pay for their items. They let people slowly take items out of their cart to see how much each one is going to be before they ring them up and then they go put some back. I have no patience for any of this. The other thing that happened that same day is the cashier says go to men's department there's no one there. So me I'm the only one that goes over there. JC Penney in Moreno Valley should be going out of business. On 01/26/2019, I went there to get a men's belt and a pair of Nike running shoes. The rack where the belts were displayed had approximately 15 belts to choose from including all sizes. All Nike product are not priced on display with very few sizes and selections. The store look empty of merchandise and customers. For the last 20+ years, JC Penney use to be my first and favorite place to shop for apparel. 27.99% interest on credit card, very limited selection on merchandise and finding someone to help or ask question is virtually impossible. I bought some workout clothes on Friday using a $10 off coupon that expired on Sunday. The clothes didn't fit so I returned them Saturday for an exchange. I asked if I was going to get my $10 back and they said they didn't have a code for that coupon, only for a $10 off a $25 purchase (both coupons were on the same mailer). The clothes were on sale so they didn't even come to that amount. I just got a refund and told them that I had PLANNED on spending money at their store but wouldn't be now. Stupid. read more

Every singleLiz Clairborne t-shirt or knit top I bought at JCP this Spring and Summer has gotten several small holes in the front of the shirt after only 2 or 3 wearings. I returned one, but then after several shirts were ruined before being a month old, I gave up. Liz Clairborne USED to be a decent clothing line, for mid priced casual wear but now it is absolutely worthless. I do not expect to wear a shirt once or twice before it is ruined with holes during routine wear. This does not include cleaning house, playing with animals, gardening or any wear that would produce holes. Otherwise, I like J C Penneys. read more

Just left JC Penny, the sales associate was awesome. She was able to help me with price checks and coupons. I found a jacket that was listed at 19.99 but was ringing up at $30. I had asked to speak to a manager regarding the price and since it was the only one left I thought a manager would be be able to override the discrepancy.. Assumed I would have a great experience with the manage since the associate was great but unfortunately that was not the case. She had to walk from upstairs to the woman's section downstairs which she looked irritated....she then pretended to look for the item which the associate already had and confirmed mine was the last one....without even acknowledging me she said ring her up as is... I then asked if Candace (the manager) would be willing to talk to me instead of brushing me off..again she proceeded to ignore me and told the associate its the last one but maybe we'll get more.. She was very rude!!! Look your customer in the face and speak to them. Losing customers because of managers like that. read more

The salon is truly a Jem in Moreno Valley. Such good stylists who are so welcoming and sweet. They actually care about making you comfortable and feel good. I'm pregnant and I was burning up like crazy. What does my stylist do? She puts a fan on me to cool me off the whole time. I went in there with horrible damaged hair from a bad traumatic session at Ulta. She transformed my hair. I didn't even recognize myself. I could cry because she made me feel so good about my appearance. I just can't stop raving about how wonderful these ladies are. You won't regret it. read more
