Ok, so I came in during Black Friday and some lady at the entrance was extremely RUDE. She was handing out free giveaway bags to all customers except my family. We clearly walked right in front of her, smiled, and she purposefully ignored us! I even stood by her again to see if she was serious and she did it AGAIN! It's truly unprofessional to ignore customers and not treat everyone with respect. The store was not packed and we didn't enter during a busy period. I came to this JCPenney at Moreno Valley Mall to pick up an online order that I had placed for some flip flops. I don't live near Moreno Valley, but this location was the only one that had the black flip flops that I wanted. First time here. Pick-up for online orders is on the second floor. When I got there, it had a sign that said it was closed, but go to kids section for assistance. I did just that. Got in line. They were quite busy with other customers at the time. Eventually, it was my turn. Staff was friendly and helpful. It didn't take them too long to get my order to me. Thank you! As I was heading out, I did use the ladies room that was kind of tucked in at some corner. It was very clean. Anyway, my visit was very short. I didn't get a chance to peruse the store as I had an event to attend to. Maybe I'll return one day to check out this JCPenney in more detail. read more

I purchased a piece of jewelry from JCPenney less than 30 days ago and unfortunately discovered a defect. The experience could have been frustrating, but the customer service I received made all the difference. Initially, the associate in the jewelry department did her best to assist me. Although she was limited by store and warranty policies, she was very pleasant and immediately offered to contact a manager when I asked. She did so without hesitation. The manager was extremely helpful and provided me with the store manager's contact information. When I reached out, the store manager was also very kind, professional, and willing to help resolve the issue. The following day, I returned to the store for a replacement, and the young associate at the jewelry counter provided excellent service. She was friendly, attentive, and made the process smooth and stress-free. Overall, I am very impressed with the level of customer service at the MV JCPenney location. Be careful about who cuts your hair at the salon. I don't recommend Alissa. I took my daughter to the salon yesterday and we told her we wanted only a trim for my daughter's hair and we showed her a picture of the layers she wanted. She also asked to have her bangs cut a certain way and she responded she already had that. Which she didn't. She basically said my daughter had to get her hair cut shorter because in order to add the layers they won't show unless her hair is shorter. So we agreed to a certain length. Then she ON HER OWN cut it MUCH shorter than we agreed to. It happened within a second so there was nothing I could do after she cut it. After that there was no going back. She then AFTER already cutting all her hair started asking for help from other workers at the salon. This shows she's not ready to cut peoples hair on her own. She then blow dried her hair and there are NO layers!!!! This was the whole reason it was cut so short!!! I decided to wait a day to see how I feel and calm down before calling the salon. I called today and spoke to the manager, who was actually one of the people who helped her correct her mistakes. I let her know about our disappointment about her hair being cut too short and the fact that there are no layers. She explained to me that Alissa is still in training. I feel like if someone's in training, we should be informed when making the appointment so we can decide if we are comfortable with that or not. Alissa seemed upset and short with us after seeing the picture my daughter showed her. She also kept asking if she was sure she wanted her hair blow dried over and over again because she kept warning my daughter it would take awhile. I now know she was trying to talk her out of getting it blow dried so we couldn't see that there weren't any layers. Alissa needs more training and another more experienced stylist working with her from beginning to end. Not coming to check after the damage is done. She also needs to be told she needs to listen to the customer and do what they ask for. Lastly, and most importantly she needs to be HONEST if she is not capable of achieving the look a client is asking for. I'm hoping something is done so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

management and security services dehumanized me when shopping at this JC Penney store. While shopping in the men's department I was confronted by security who asked me, "Are you going to be paying for all this stuff?" I was quite disturbed and full of emotions. I let him know my intentions are to pay and I asked him why he made such an assumption that I would not pay. The security guard let me know that he was called and that I fit the description to the call he received. At that moment, I felt violated and disrespected. I paid for my items and left the store, but truthfully I will be returning everything and never shop at a JC Penney because of this experience. Staff's performance was poor and unacceptable. Instead of making me feel welcome they made me feel like a shoplifter. My parents did not raise me to be a thief, I have high standards in the way I live my life. I was accused in the middle of doing my shopping inside the store, I suggest a security stop should be done when a shoplifter walks out of the store doors without a receipt. I hope that no loyal customer experiences the distress that the staff made me feel this evening. JC Penney needs to do better for their staff member's needs and training that follows along great customer service. read more

One star for the cashier telling me I read the advertised sign wrong and so i brought the sign to her and she said that was the wrong sign. So we go to the display and she clearly thought she was right until I printed out the description on both signs and the price. Her sign did not match the original price on my product. I'm furious that JCPenney would charge me $2 every month to get a paper statement in the mail, after charging me over 30 percent interest on the credit purchases. I think I'll give them a rest. Let's see if they decide it's profitable to get my $2 every month when I decide to use every other credit card in my wallet but theirs. This review is for the salon as I could not find their salon's page. I would give zero stars to the salon if I could. They ripped my mother off today by charging her almost double for what they charge for a basic cut. I have come here twice now, my last visit being a week ago. I was told haircuts start at $35 and I had my hair shampooed & cut for $40 both times I visited. Today, however they charged my mother $60 for a trim, a very basic trim. They did not even provide the a full service which I was told includes shampooing, cutting, and styling/blow drying. Last week, I was told this would cost $50, if I was interested. But today they charged my $60 for just a cut?! This is very dishonest of the employees working today and I will not be returning to this salon ever again. I highly do not recommend this salon to anyone unless you want to be ripped off! We could pay that amount at a higher end salon. Since all jc near my family home were closed, always happy to find one open. This one was clearly having issues, but did manage to find some clothes in the big mens area. Not a lot of help to be found and supplies looked scarce. My biggest complaint is how dirty it was.....and why the carpet looked like a crime scene. My experience this past Sunday was extremely stressful. Let me set the scene... I arrived for my haircut with a Stylist. My hair was one length just below my shoulders. I came in with a picture of the haircut i desired (long A line) and shared this with her. She said ok! Then we proceeded with the haircut and this is when I knew I was in trouble.... She dropped her scissors twice, then the comb, of which she continued to use without wiping them off or cleaning them after they landed on the floor. And her hands were shaking. Yes, this is when I should have stopped her, but I didn't. She proceeded to part my hair on the side around the ears (both sides) and clipped it. Then she literally grabbed the back and cut straight across, no layering, no nothing...just literally cut across at almost back hair line. Oh did i mention my hair was dry...no water, nothing! Then she proceeded to cut the front at an angle from the front, she angled the scissors upward toward the back and tried to cut towards the back cut. So the side of my hair went like this /------ . Then she proceeded to the other side...and started cutting the same way. She cut too much on that side and had to shorten the other side....back and forth until my hair was just below my ears....OMG STOP!!! I told her "we are done and please stop", and I got up and took off the cape. I don't know what made me ask her "How much do I owe you?" but i did. She said "nothing". I walked out. And was met by the only other stylist in the shop, she took me to two on- duty managers because she saw I was so upset, shaking and crying. The on-duty mangers said "Another?" and were appalled and was apologetic and asked the stylist if she could fix it, she said she will of course try to repair. They took pictures. Oh, and did I mention I was the third person that day that she completely destroyed their hair, a bad dye job, and a cut that wasn't even repairable. The hairstylist that was comforting me, had just finished trying to repair the previous bad cut, and had stayed a little longer to make sure things went ok for me, of which it wasn't. The very sweet stylist that tried to help me, repaired the damage. And, i was grateful for her professional abilities, and hair skills. Of course my hair is probably 3 or so inches shorter that what i wanted, but at no fault to her...she had to fix the mess that this person caused. This women belongs no where near peoples hair, have scissors in her hand or have a job as a hairstylist. I am asking for my money back, because I did have to pay for the haircut after all. But i'm going to the Corporate office to complain about this, for some reason this women has been kept there, even after having OTHER and NUMERIOUS incidents as this. WHAT THE HELL???? WHY? I blame management for this as well. If you go to the JC Penneys Salon in Moreno Valley beware of your stylist. If you want the name I will be happy to provide, but i wont publicly post. Booked an appointment online for a color, highlight and haircut and was called as I was heading to drive to the salon and told the stylist was running behind from a client who started her service 5 and 1/2 hours earlier. They stated they could not keep my appointment, first offered another stylist, but, then proceeded to state no other stylist could take me because of the time it would take for my service and all of them were leaving and don't want to stay after. I asked why no one called me 5 hours before once the knew the other clients service would impact my appointment, no reason. They did not care that I planned my weekend around the appointment. Salon: I use to come to JC penny salon all the time but it hasn't been the greatest after Covid. We had set up an appt for cut and blow out for my daughter during the week at 5:30 pm we received a call later in the week to see if we could move up our appt to 4:45 pm. Because they don't do blow outs past 5 pm. Since I get off at 5:00pm I told the lady who called to just go ahead and cancel I couldn't make that time. We ended up scheduling again with them on Saturday at 11:30 am. We showed up at 11:15 am to be greeted by the person in the front desk who wasn't the nicest. I told her we were checking in but were early she said that the hairstylist assigned to my daughter was doing hi-lights and she was going to be another 30-45 min. I told her my daughter was there for cut and blow out. We came back about half an hour later to have what seemed to be the manager waiting for us to tell us that we booked an express cut and the stylist would not have time for a blow out. I felt that was pretty crappy service considering she didn't even start at 11:30am as scheduled. I understand they book their time slots but we also had to accommodate the stylist. They need to do better with their customer service. read more

This sephora sucks. They don't have a huge variety and customer service is the worse. I always have to wait in a long line or look around the store because no one is ever at their counters especially the counter where you have to return online stuff up stairs. The home department rarely has employees at the counter. I swear they are always in the back. I have to look around for a couple mins to find any help and usually see them come from the back. The best thing about this store is that they offer good coupons and rewards dollars. I hate the fact that online returns can only happen up stairs cuz thts where the employees are never around. I was driving around outside for 15 minutes trying to find the designated pick up area and then decided to just walk in the store 2 minutes after they close (which by the way their hours listed online are not accurate) and she refuses to listen to me and let other people already in the store purchase and when I tried to explain she cut me off and was totally rude. Went to the hair salon for highlights and was turned away after being told I have lice. I felt completely humiliated and embarrassed as I do NOT have lice. The manager Nevette was very rude to me and my mother, she "checked" my mom for lice and couldn't find anything but still made her leave. The stylist Jessie was very rude to me as she didn't like the highlights I was asking for. She made a comment saying she usually works with "fun" colors. They also made comments making it seem as I was lying about my virgin hair telling me the bleach would tell them the truth... they made this comment multiple times. Then they both proceeded to tell me that I may have caught lice at work or my child's daycare and that Riverside county has the highest lice count. Very unprofessional because my child is a week old so she does not attend daycare and I'm currently not working. If they did not want to service my hair, because that is not the type of style, they do, they could have told me in a more professional way not by embarrassing me and making me feel bad about myself. read more

I was asked more than several times if I was Finding everything okay from different Associates that were walking by me while I was shopping. I was asked again by Keisha if I needed help and at that moment I did. She went above and beyond with helping me find the sizes that I need it for my daughter. My mom has come to the Salon here two times now. the first time in Jan 2018 was a great experience with Lydia. Lydia was nice and explained all of my moms options with cut and color. This first visit was 5 stars! However the second visit March 2018, was not great. Lydia was booked so my mom was seen by Olga. My mom explained to Olga the cut and color that she wanted, but Olga cut the sides MUCH shorter than what my mom had asked for. When I arrived, my mom was explaining this to me and said "it's not bad, but it is shorter than I normally get it." I could tell she was upset but still trying to be polite. Olga was giving a lot of attitude toward my mom for not liking it and when she was done, she just walked away while saying "they'll ring you up at the front." Today took 30 minutes because an off duty employee was taking up one of the two registers, chatting with the check out person but completely unconcerned with the growing long behind her that she was largely responsible for creating. For the hair salon: I came with my mom and she doesn't speak any English and I tried helping them know what she wanted and the girl with the pink hair didn't have the time of day to help and rudely told my moms original stylist (which was polite and tried her best to understand) to call the manager. My mom decided to just leave and I tried telling them sorry. They wasted my mom's time and this isn't the first time they do something like this. I really love to shop the fine jewelry at Jcpenney. They have wonderful sales and deals. The Moreno Valley store is closest to me but I have had a bad experience the last several times I have stopped in. It's quite obvious these women don't think a "stupid white b****" can understand Spanish. They not only said derogatory statements towards me but also about the one black girl that was either working directly with them or stopping in from another department also. This is disgusting as they make a commission off me so their racism must be deeply seeded. I will change my mailing address online just so they do not get commissions for my online sale. As the Jcpenney closest to the buyers house receives credit for the sale. I'm over it. I will drive an extra 20 minutes to Temecula. These girls need a class on being classy. read more
