I haven't been here in probably 10 years and it's been 20 years or more since I ate here. What I remember was a dark pizzaria with terrible pizza. Now they have painted all the walls white and added a bunch more lights. Now it's nice and bright. It has a huge dining area so it would be great for family get togethers. And now to the important part, the Pizza. Like I said it used to be terrible. But now it's quite good. It tastes just like Pietro's Pizza to me which I love. Just moved here to Keizer, decided to try pizza here. The pizza was sooooooo good, one of the best pizzas I have had in a long time! The price was good we took two kids and there were a couple of video games to keep them entertained. So why not 5 stars? We walked in hoping to get relief from the 90 degree heat and it felt about 2 degrees cooler inside, very humid and hot inside, we asked if they could turn the ac on , they said it was on :-/ also we asked for paper plates and I kid you not the plates were a little bit bigger than a tea cup saucer, the pizza draped over the ends. We asked for bigger plates and the guy simply said " oh I can't do that" ooooooo k a bit odd but pizza was so good we made due with what we had. I worked here many, many moons ago. Normally I don't review places I worked, but I read some reviews about service, food, and atmosphere, and I wanted to comment. When I worked here, it was owned by the Campbell family, and their daughter, who had no business sense, was the manager. The ONLY thing they cared about was making money. Not employees, not quality, not remodeling, nothing except fattening their bank accounts. We were all paid minimum wage, typical for food service, yet we were all expected to do the job of at least 3 people. For an entire shift, all we were allowed to have for food and drinks were half of a small pizza and 2 small pops. There were no discounts on food. Turn over was INSANE. I worked there 8-9 months, and counted over 60 people quit or get fired for ridiculous reasons. One girl was fired because she dressed "too sexy", all black, nylons, nothing revealing at all, but the owners didn't like it. They just fired, fired, fired. Nobody was valuable there. Show up on time, do the work, stay later, come in on a day off, it didn't matter, they didn't like anything about you, consider yourself fired. The place is a DUMP. They won't invest a dime into anything except perhaps broken machinery. Instead, the owners just want more money. I recall an oven broke, and the owners were so incredibly cheap, it took at least a month to fix it. We were told use the other ovens. How about fix your equipment! Food quality is terrible. Customers complained about doughy pizza, not enough toppings, anything really, but the owners didn't care. I really thought the place might be better after all these years, but from what I read in current reviews, it is just as much of a dump and dive as it was when I worked there ages ago. The reason you get bad service is because of how the owners, at least when I worked there, treated employees. Demanding, minimum wage, all are expendable, and no matter how hard we tried, it wasn't good enough. Brief story: Owners once hired a family friend to straighten up employees. He worked in a jail and moonlighted here. Overall, he was decent, but aggressive. I remember standing there when a customer complained a pizza took too long and asked for some money back. It did take too long. He told the customer long wait times should be expected for his order, that's just how it is, and he won't get anything more. The customer stood there in silence, then said fine, we will never return. I never saw him again. That is NOT how you treat a customer. I would have fired him on the spot if I could. As long as customers are willing to pay them for horrible service and food, they will stay in business. Many customers complained and said they hated JC's Pizza, yet next week came right back. Well, if you hate it, quit spending money here and this place will eventually go out of business. read more

First I want to say that I love this pizza! It's delicious and the prices are great! I would give it a 5 star but a couple of weeks ago I went there and noticed a man that worked there not wearing a mask and the lady that was preparing the pizza was handling cash and the register and not washing her hands. This was so disappointing that I haven't returned. Everyone working there should know better to wear a mask and wash their hands. Safety comes first. read more

Pizza like Walery's or Union St. with similar options for side orders. This is one that my family has frequented more often for lack of a familiar pizza that is easier to access. Overall the location isn't entirely over or underwhelming but somewhere in the nostalgic middle. Staff are decent and we don't ever seem to be there when there are a lot of patrons but the building has room for fairly large parties. read more

Of all the things I miss most about living in Salem, JC's (and Wallery's, Pietro's) style pizza is near the top of my list. The crust is just phenomenal. It's thin and crispy and just plain delicious. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! I have fond memories going to JC's for little league parties as a kid, and now I reminisce over it and it's always a first stop for me when I come into town to visit. It's funny because growing up in Salem we always talked about "East Coast style" pizza (New York, Boston etc.). Now that I live on the east coast I haven't found anything as good as JC's out here. read more

I don't know what it is about JC's Pizza, I think its the thin, extremely crispy crust so that you can pick up a slice and it stay in form no matter what angle it takes to enter your mouth. read more

The crust and the ingredients are superb, in fact he crust may be the best ever! The reason I am only giving 3 stars however is due to the lack of taste in the sauce. For a pizza to have such great crust, ingredients and an abundance of good cheese the flavor was bland. Prices are reasonable and a HUGE dining area makes it a great place for parties. read more

I'm being generous with the two stars. The only thing good was the price was good and the place was almost empty so lots of seating. I ordered a pretty plain pizza off the board. It was basically an Hawiian that had olives. I was super hungry and so looking forward to this pizza. When it came it was overcooked and crunchy dry. The Canadian bacon was little strips of cut ham not the nice thin slices. If it was just not cooked so much it would have been okay. Not great but okay, but I left pizza on the table as it wasn't even worth taking home. I will not go back as I can't remember having a worse pizza. read more

I'm sad to be writing a review for JCS with such a low star rating. I have eaten at this restaurant since I was a kid and have many great memories here. The pizza is great and has always been just awesome and affordable. My concern with this last visit was how badly this place needs to be cleaned. I smelled urine when I first walked in and I immediately wanted to leave and should have but I went to the counter and had to wait quite awhile as a man cut in front of me and ordered 5 large pizzas so i waited awhile. While I was waiting I looked around and saw so much filth, fingerprints, grease, years and years and YEARS of dust buildup in a ceiling vent, walls with skid marks and stains, flooring ripped and old, and the its clear the building is falling apart to me anyways. Come to think of it I have been eating here since I was a kid and not one upgrade has happened in all those years. I can't imagine the work involved in keeping a restaurant going and my heart goes out to the owners but the restaurant needs some major TLC. If there's no money to fix stuff or buy a new fridge for the sodas or new tables then please make sure employees have time to clean. So so much cleaning needs to be done. Cleaning is a requirement not an option. I just cannot return and will not until at least the fur is removed from that grotesque ceiling vent directly in front of the ordering area and bar. And the amount of flies in the kitchen prep area was not appetizing. Food was out uncovered with a ton of flies. I should have left as I said but felt obligated to pick up the pizza that I had ordered. I'm just so disappointed. I truly want to support JCS but they need to seriously think about food safety and sanitation. I beg the owners to please take a look around its time to clean. read more

Love the crust which is thin. I like older style building and this one is huge so I enjoy it. They also have good appetizers. I can't give five stars because some of the deals for two toppings and half and halfs make the prices vary up to 5 dollars even, I know other pizza places can be similar but that's being cheap to me. Service is garbage. I called in and ordered a pizza tonight large extra cheese pepperoni and olives on half. I drive 15 minutes to get the pizza drive 15 more to get back home only to get home and see that they messed my pizza order up. I called in and got a very rude lady. I told her I just picked up a pizza and they messed it up. She cut me off and asked me what the name the order was under I told her, and she said that they would remake the pizza. I then asked for compensation because I had to drive all the way out there because they messed up my order. She said I was the one who took the order and confirmed 2 times the order. Which was a lie because she did not confirm 2 times. I told her whatever to make the pizza and I'm on my way to pick it up. So, I get there told them I was here to pick up the pizza order they messed up and I was told that they didn't make the pizza because they couldn't confirm what was on the pizza. I told them on the phone what the order was so again that was a lie. So I had to wait another 15- 20 minutes for my pizza to be remade. These guys wasted my time tonight because these guys couldn't make the correct order. I will never spend my money here again, and i will tell my friends and anyone else not to eat here either. read more

This place really gets negative 1 star from me. The pizza we had (supreme and Hawaiian) was extremely dry. It reminded me of crackers and cheese. Hardly any toppings and lots of greasy cheap cheese. And now for the establishment. I don't think the owners have upgraded any thing in this place since it was built in the 70's...my guess. I could say more but I will leave it at that. read more

Best pizza in Keizer! I love the cracker bottom crust and the amount of toppings... 4 stars rather than 5 because of the lack of atmosphere in the restaurant. A new coat of paint, better lighting and a splash of personality on the walls would make this a regular hang out spot... It's great if you're taking it home though :) read more

My family and I used to love JC's. We used to order to-go here a couple times a month. But the pizza has really gone downhill. Its definitely overcooked. Not sure what exactly they changed but rather than soft stringy cheese, its now a layer of browned solid cheese that you can remove in one piece. Also since its so over cooked they dont cut all the way through the crust. This place can be worthy of so much more. I enjoy the low lighting atmosphere and the big fireplace by the tables but the rest needs upgraded pretty badly. Also, the employees could work on their customer service--and there is a serious issue with cleanliness and hygiene that needs addressed. Unfortunately they wont be selling the business so there will be no change. read more

This our favorite pizza place in town since we moved to Oregon from Southern California 23 years ago! Excellent service with very attentive personal. Anthony helped us out today with our order and even brought us Parmesan cheese to our table! I couldn't be any happier with the perfect pizza! We have never been disappointed at this place!
