Maybe the best waffle that I've ever had. My girlfriend got the breakfast burrito and it looked delicious. It was far too big for her to finish so I had to help out and I'm glad I did. Sitting in the Diner as I type this, and since I sat down... the waitress rolled her eyes at me and interrupted me while I was ordering my food because I called it a "corned beef hash omelette" instead of a "corned beef omelette". Rudeness for no reason. The couple next to us asked about their lunch, they couldn't understand why a hot dog and a salad would take so long. Other customers seated after them had already gotten their food. The same waitress responded "Sorry, nothing I can do." Um, you could go check, it's just a hot dog! Upon her rude response the couple left, and the waitress proceeded to talk about the "impatient" couple to wait staff and other customers. When my omelette arrived it was missing toast, she said it would be right out. A woman who bought a take out order returned because the same waitress forgot her soda. The man on the other side of us requested jam for his toast twice... and when he complained about his food the same waitress went into the kitchen and yelled at the kitchen staff loud enough for customers in the diner to hear. When she came to refill my coffee I reminded her of my missing toast. The toast arrived after I had finished my meal. After that rude one woman show we witnessed, I don't think we will be coming back. read more

Closes at 2:00 we got to diner a little after 1:00. The lady at the front did not seat us and acted annoyed we were there. We ordered sandwiches and a wrap to go. The one sandwich came out not as ordered (we decided not to say anything). My plate smelled like old dish water so I ate of my napkin. I was not asked why I was eating off a napkin they just took the plate. We were done eating and they brought our wrap to go, it was made wrong and the fries were missing. The waitress got defensive right away and said "just don't tip me" she also mentioned the cook might have left and the wrap could not be remade. She took our money and had us pay for the entire meal before she checked if the wrap could be remade. She was irritated at us and was very unprofessional. We will never go back again. They say they c lose at 2 but clearly if you go anytime after 1 your an inconvenience. read more

While visiting family in the area my wife was brought to JDs and couldn't stop talking about it. Both of us being a bit snobby when it comes to food I figured I would have to find out for myself. When I got there I thought this cant be the place, it is small and rather obscure. Looking at the menu I again was thinking nope this cant be the right place, too inexpensive to be as good as I heard. Well it was EXCELLENT!!! Now anytime we are in the area we make it a point to stop and eat here. After several meals you realize that you see a lot of repeating faces and most of the people in JDs know each other, this is because this is where the locals come to eat too, so you know it is good. read more

Love love love the food. Breakfast is amazing... my favorite is chicken Caesar wrap. Everything is always fresh and the soup is homemade! You can tell the cook puts love and pride into the food. Everything here was pretty average on a whole. There's nothing exceptional nor anything that's really poor either. The tap water seemed to have been mixed in the fountain machine and had a hint of sugary lemonade to it. My eggs were ok and coffee was refilled once. Food came out in a timely fashion and staff was nice enough. Some of the chairs were all ripped up and in need of repair. I heard either the Owner or Chef talking to a table of patrons and they all seemed to know him well. I could see this place feeling like home to local regulars but just OK to someone passing through like me. read more

Very nice place. Nice people too. Hubby and I have breakfast here regularly. Try the rye bread toast. Food is always prepared well. It's small and noisy but everyone is friendly and it makes for a nice community feel. There is a very extensive hot dog menu. I haven't tried them but that's what they are known for. read more

Worst sausage gravy I have ever had. Zero flavor, pasty texture. Home fries were not fried but more like boiled. No browning or crispyness whatsoever. Grilled onions were rendered but not at all browned either, very bland meal. I would not bother to return. read more

We are "snowbirding" in Sebastian this year, and our host took my husband there for breakfast a few weeks ago, along with our Host's friend (a weekly ritual of theirs). This morning my husband and I went there for breakfast. A 'sit yourself' set up, the first table we selected was very wobbly, so we sat at the table next to it. I was wearing shorts and had to switch chairs because the seat vinyl covering was cracked and uncomfortable to sit on on the chair at the 2nd table. As there was no 'set up' on this table, I reached over for the condiments 'tray' and we opened the menu. Immediately the waitress came over to take our order. We asked if she could come back as we just opened the menus. She didn't appear very happy, but before she walked away asked about drinks. I ordered back coffee and my husband asked for decaffeinated tea. "Don't have decaffeinated tea", she barked. So my husband asked for regular tea. "What kind?", she questioned. We looked at each other and he responded just regular tea. After she dropped off our drinks, my husband asked for cream. "It's on that other table!", she directed. He was shocked!, as he got up to get his cream. She proceeded to attend to every patron seated, greeting each one with a cheery Good Morning, tapping off their drinks, asking how their meal was; every patron, that is EXCEPT us. After a good ten minute wait, at least, she returned to take our order. I asked for eggs Benedict with sauce on the side. "SAUCE ON THE SIDE???!!!" she yelled out. (Really, I failed to understand her over reaction.) "Yes", I quietly responded, to which she replied, "PLEASE!", and standing there seemingly waiting for acknowledgment, I responded, "Correct!" After our food was delivered, she failed to ask us how our meal was. When I had to ask her to tap off my coffee, she tapped off my coffee and tapped off my husband's tea with COFFEE. She wasn't very happy she had to re-serve him fresh tea. After delivering the tea, she asked if we were New Yorkers. My husband responded, "yes", to which she mumbled loudly, "I knew that!" OMG!!! We are a semi-retired couple who eat out approximately four out of seven days a week and at no where and no time, both nationally and internationally, have we ever been so mistreated!!! The breakfast was just OK, by the way. In summary, there appears to be two waitresses on staff, or so was the case when my husband first ate there. Their waitress was the delightful and professional Valerie. Today's waitress obviously was not Valerie!!! And as a side note, if she suspected we were New Yorkers, she should have treated us RIGHT, not to mention BETTER, because as any server in the South knows, NOBODY TIPS BETTER THAN NEW YORKERS, OR PEOPLE FROM THE NORTH!!! If you want to know everything that is going on in a waitress life this is the place to go they don't mind letting you hear about their life they even sit down with the regular customers to shot the bull while your coffee cup or tea glass is empty. I first ate here over the summer, the food was incredible. Went there 2 times over the last 3 weeks, and the quality of the food has really declined. I was really disappointed because I like to support local businesses. I'm not what changed from the summer, but I won't go back. read more

Amazingly for such a small restaurant, we could not get waited on. We eventually got up and left. We do not recommend this restaurant.

Love this place! Only problem is I wish they were open for dinner! Good menu selection served quickly and with a smile. If you're looking for white tablecloths and candles, this isn't the place for you. If you want a really good, cooked to order, down home meal at a really fair price then this is just the place for you. I still don't understand how they can serve a loaded Ruben with a side for eight bucks, costs more to go to Publix and buy the ingredients. Staff is super friendly and actually act like they take pride in their food and service which I find refreshing these days.
