March 7, 2026 Jefes Review Absolutely Amazingly Awesome! It was my first time at Jefes in Plymouth. I went to sing karaoke at the open mic night with ROCKCOVERY and decided to have dinner. I had the pleasure of meeting Jefes owner Mike. He gladly took my order. He was extremely helpful, pleasant and professional. His presence gave off an energetic positive vibe. The energy of the restaurant was extremely positive and upbeat. I ordered the Jefes Burrito with chicken, a side of slices of avacado and a side of hot sauce. It was Absolutely Awesome. I want to say thank you to all the staff at Jefes: A Betta Bar & Grille for a wonderful evening that was filled with amazing food, the best service, an energy filled with love, laughter, hugs, great music and the coolest friends. I stopped here yesterday for lunch because we felt like nachos. When I tell your the nachos here are the biggest and tastiest you'll find in the area, I mean it. Two of us split a half order and still brought half of it home. We both enjoyed our tacos and the plantains were delicious. We will absolutely be back and recommend the spot if you're in the area or if you want really good nachos. The server was great and food was cooked fast and fresh. I've had Jefes on my list to try for year or so now. I finally got the chance to stop by this afternoon. Mike, the owner, has been at it for a few years here after a stint learning from some of the local Vegas greats. His dedication shows--he provided great recommendations. Even a few years in? I heard him providing feedback to his cooks on how to make sure that they made the perfect entree and accompaniments to ensure a consistent experience for his customers. I started with a fried cod taco before moving on to the sweet and spicy shrimp taco and the steak taco. All were excellent! To accompany my meal I had an Abandoned Building Brewery West Coast IPA followed by the iconic Maine Lunch IPA. I'll be back! read more

Such a great spot! I had a surprise wedding shower at Jefes. It was so cute. They food was phenomenal a tortillas were hand pressed and fresh. The guacamole was also fresh. The nachos were a hit! They had a mock tail menu, which was so nice for non-drinkers. Our server was the best. She took great care of my 14 people party and I really appreciate everything. Ok from the start it was not good. They brought chips and salsa and charged $6-$7 for them when every other Mexican restaurant in the country does not charge at all.. absolutely unheard of. I just returned from a 7 month trip around our beautiful country in a Winnebago and stopped many times for Mexican and not once did that happen. The server was average at best as were our burritos. Never again.. they got me once but that's it! I am a big time honest reviewer so please know that. If you are a great restaurant then you get a great review and if you are not then there is a price to pay. Sorry but that is how it should be so we could all decide to dine there. read more

I have been about 6 times now and i feel i can give an honest great review. The food is QUALITY & Flavor, with that being said anyone who wants that realizes that typically brings smaller portions. The drinks feel fresh (and strong). Many sides come Ala carte so we have found its best to go with 2-4 folks so everyone can share a bit of each thing. I literally drive by 2 other "mexican" spots leaving my house to make my way to Jefes passing them both with no regrets to get to the good spot. The Birria on handmade corn taco is my favorite with the side consume, do it! The consume pairs awesome to dunk the yuca fries in as well. The only reasons why i gave -1 star: PARKING is horrific, there is a few spots on the street but mostly you need to park in the church lot a few doors down. At least thats what the serves say to do, no idea if its actually OK or not. The bathroom location is a bit poor, its smack dab in the middle of the restaurant.. read more

OMG! Lemon pepper tacos ordered 3, sweet plantains and yucca fries Togo. I didn't really read the description on the menu and I despise corn tacos. I have to say I demolished all 3 tacos, so flavorful. The combination of the lemon pepper guacamole and pico de gallo on the fresh corn tacos ordered is a delight. Yucca fries perfectly crispy with a pinch of salt...wash it all down with sweet plantains. YUM. I'm so glad I finally found this place yelp reviews do not do justice on how great the food really is. Food: I ordered Brisket Quesadilla for lunch. It was delicious. Portions were small to my surprise but delicious nonetheless. Yuca fries were cooked to perfection, very impressive. My colleague ordered nachos which were delicious too! Time: Order was made fresh and we had our food within 10 minutes. Vibe: This place is pretty chill. I went for lunch so it wasn't packed. The bar selection looks great. Parking: I didn't see much parking. I Parker on the narrow street right next to it. Make sure to give yourself time for parking on the weekends. Food has gone downhill which is a bummer. we've eaten here many times. Very expensive for what you get. My order was wrong. Guac was brown. Elote topping on the steak taco tasted "off". In my experience, it's difficult to find a good Mexican restaurant in Massachusetts. When we found Jefes, I knew we had found one. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon shortly after they opened and it was almost empty. That worried me, but my worries were wasted. On our first outing, we just had Guacamole and tacos. The guac was wonderful and so were our tacos. We both love the sweet and spicy shrimp tacos, and I also loved the lime and pepper chicken. We went back with friends a few weeks later and we all started with a Cadillac marguerita which is made with El Patron and was probably the best marguerita I've ever had. They serve it in an elegant glass which I prefer to those over-sized thick glasses that some restaurants use for Margueritas. We split an order of Nachos which again were the best I've had. We've been here several times since relocating from NYC. A great neighborhood restaurant; great margaritas and tacos plus a few other Latin items. We had the Portuguese and the Beef Tacos but there's plenty to choose from plus a limited menu of other south of the border items. Oh, and did I mention the margaritas??? read more

TL; DR * Give them a try. If you go to any restaurant that's been open about a week with a group of almost 20, expect that things aren't going to go perfectly and roll with it. * The food is great and authentic. Let's start with the good: * the interior is really nice, something you might not expect when you see the exterior * the food was great! The group I was with ordered most of the menu - every kind of taco (there are four options), nachos, wings, arancini ball, margaritas, beers, etc., and everyone liked their meals and drinks. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and tasted authentic * If you like TVs in the restaurant, they have several * the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We told them we were a group of 10 and we ended up a group of *18* * Shout out to the chill dude there (Mike?) who I think was the manager. He was accommodating, quietly hustling, and a cheerul and calming presence for the waitstaff. Okay, the not so good, with a caveat: * They've been open a week and have Food Truck - not brick and mortar - experience, so when a group of 18 descends on them asking for 18 separate orders and 18 separate checks (good luck with that), it's new to them * Our waitress seemed new to the profession and we were her first large group *ever* * It was the Perfect Storm: as a result of the waitress' and the restaurant's newness, food and drink orders were mixed up, delayed, missed, and the checks were a mess. That said, we are a fairly relaxed group, and we likely provided an awesome learning opportunity for the new restaurant and waitress * Despite the simple menu (see below), some of the waitstaff couldn't comment on items on that menu because they haven't tried them The Menu: Super-simple. Four taco options, a handful of popular standard appetizers, a full bar. Keeping the menu simple helps ensure consistency of quality. They know what they're doing. The Final Word: Give them a try! Everyone in my group liked their food and drink. Our only issues seem directly related to a new restaurant working out opening week kinks and a waitress who hadn't ever had to manage a group our size before. Was in Plymouth for work with my colleague and was looking for a good place to grab dinner away from all the tourist craziness downtown. Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a shot. Ordered a short rib taco and a carnitas taco without the tortilla because I'm currently doing keto. (no carbs!) And pretty much hoping the sauces and such don't have sugar in it while I'm traveling. The short rib taco was incredibly tender, melt in your mouth but a touch too salty. I imagine if I was eating the tortilla it would have been perfect. The carnitas was a bit on the tough side and slightly bland, but the sauces and veggies on both were great. The service was quick and efficient. Would definitely be back! read more

We were thrilled to find a place that actually made tortillas, didnt have bottles of sour mix behind the bar and made black beans like what my coworkers in Pilsen made... The service from the second we walked in the door was perfect!!! We were greeted and welcomed immediately. Our server was so sweet and friendly, she made us feel like family. We had the BBQ chicken wings which were delicious, super saucy which I love and the sauce had a nice little kick to it. I got a brisket, a chicken, and a shrimp taco. They were all so tasty, I really couldn't tell you which I liked the best. All of them!!! For a drink I ordered a mezcalita, never had one before, not a big tequila drinker, but dang it was amazing. So yeah, service was awesome, food as awesome as their food truck used to be, and the perfect cocktail to cap it off. Go as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed.
