Restored to be Able to React ~ Several Months ago a souvenir of Sand from Jamaica broke in my bag and invaded every crevice of my Kimber. I tried to dust her off and clean the barrel with my gun kit, but didn't do a good job. I stuck my baby in the drawer and after a month or so, sliding the chamber became difficult and you could audibly hear the crunching of the sand. One of my military friends was able to clean her a bit more while scolding me and said to get her professionally cleaned. I searched Google and Jeff's Gun shop popped up near me on De Zavala. As we entered the shop, Jeff's warm smile greeted me first and of course I was proud to see the military and police emblems proudly displayed about. Being a little rusty on my weapon, Jeff Gave me a lesson on my Kimber, as well as, a discussion on the sand in my weapon. ( Sand Not Allowed) slowly downcast eyes.... He promised me that he could restore her to new and get her to the performance she was designed for. I explained that I wanted a weapon with less recoil and he recommended I try Nardis for the "Practice and Purchase" feature. I left my baby in good hands and followed his advice and headed to Nardis. I did in fact purchase a Smith and Wesson that weekend after practicing on several different weapons. Today, I picked up my baby and was amazed at the photos of the rust that invaded my weapon. In her former state, I would not have been confident that she would be able to fire correctly. Jeff took her apart and cleaned every bit of rust and sand from her interior. The care and attention to detail was evident as I slid the chamber back and forth and didn't hear a crunching sound. My baby was clean and restored to her former Glory! Thank you Jeff for taking care of my girl! This Soldier appreciates you and I Promise I'll never let her get that bad again. They sat on my CZ Scorpion for almost 3 months which had a malfunctioning binary trigger or so I thought, because the shop is located near a storage unit and they cannot shoot any firearms when there are people around. Came today after not hearing any updates for a few weeks to pick up my gun and take it elsewhere and they tried charging me $50 for swapping a bolt which there was no proof of as the Nexus bolt that I had spent a whopping minute installing was still there, and proceeded to look at me funny when I told them Im not paying for something that could have easily been done at home and is done on field strips when I clean the gun. Only reason this isn't a one star review was because they did seem like decent guys and they didn't fight me too much on the ridiculous charge, probably because they realized it was BS that they held onto my gun for so long and didn't shoot it once to verify the concern, just said oh we swapped the bolt thats $50. Overall not very pleased and would happily take my business elsewhere, I had high hopes but was disappointed. read more

I would recommend this place very highly. It started with the first phone call. They were very pleasant to talk to. Problem i had was a stuck screw holding the receiver to the stock. After asking a simple question of whether they have a shotgun in stock, I was met with a snarky, condescending tone stating "Is it on the website?" Speaking to me like I'm an idiot. The man who I presume was Jeff then stated, "We are an online store. You buy it online and it comes in." All with a terrible attitude. Talking down to potential customers is not the way to bring in revenue or foster loyalty. Expecting every customer to know that you are an online only store when you don't have that posted on your website is a great way to run your business into the ground. read more

I have tried a couple of other gunsmiths in the San Antonio area over the last few years and this place ended the experimentation. I dropped my rifle off to have some trigger work done and was asked if I was in a rush to which I replied I was not. They gave me an expected completion date of 3 weeks as they had recently gotten slammed with new business. The following afternoon I received a call that it was ready to be picked up. The work was well done and professional and the cost was very reasonable. Apparently, after looking the job over, it was determined to be something they could knock out quickly and did so. Once the word gets out, I expect their business will increase exponentially due to the demand, quality and price. I know I'll be going back the next time I need work done. read more

A few months ago I started a collection of WW1 rifles used by the principle belligerents in the war. Mausers, Lee-Enfields, Mosin-Nagant, etc. Not purchased with the idea of actually firing the guns, later I decided they ought to be checked out anyway. I started calling gun shops in the SA area.
