I came here back in April of 2020 for some tooth pain I was having.They told me that I had a couple of cavities that needed tending to. So I had the work performed and less than a month later the same pain from the same tooth happened again, again they worked on that tooth and said it was taken care of.. Guess what a few weeks later the same exact pain from the same tooth. This is where they begin to tell me that I was grinding my teeth, which was not the case because I never had that issue and it was verified by another dentist. The work that was performed was not done correctly. So I sent emails to their corporate office and called numerous time and never received any replies to my calls or emails. Till this day I still haven't heard back from anyone.. So now I'm forced to go and consult with someone who can hold them accountable.. I had an appointment since last year for a cleaning and when I went to my appointment the front desk clerk was very rude with me and told me that my appointment time was at 3:30. Wrong! It was at 3 pm. Then she told me that I would not be able to have my teeth cleaned that day and would have to reschedule. WHAT???? What kind of practice is this? They always make mistakes and this was the last straw. I am done with them. They are non caring and quite frankly have made decisions on my teeth that I was not very happy about. Application for loan was taken out from this clinic and through OrthoFi mid last year. In November, we decided to cancel the procedure and paid nearly $1700 in cancellation fee. Fast forward to February and we are still getting late fee emails from finance company. OrthoFi has tried to contact clinic but they won't respond. We've stopped by the clinic more than 6 times and every time we are told the manager who can help is not present and therefore we have to call or come back again some other day. This has been going on for a while and we fear OrthoFi will decide to report to the credit agencies for a delinquency that doesn't really exist. The only thing that remain to be done is to go to the clinic and stay there all day every day until the manager shows up. And we are actually considering that too. read more

Someone I love went here recently and I am furious at the lack of care they received. After reading these reviews, how is this place still in business? As they made the appointment, my loved one told them an extraction was the reason for the visit. They also repeated this during the visit, as that was all they could afford. Jefferson Dental REFUSED to pull the painful molar and instead, presented a treatment plan for over ten thousand dollars! It would be laughable if it weren't for patients suffering. Not to mention...the wait time. I see many have complained about hours of waiting. Avoid, avoid, avoid! You have been warned. I've never looked up a business and read this many bad reviews. I went in for a cleaning and routine X-ray only to be charged for a cleaning WITH INSURANCE. Then to be turned in circles of trying to get my X-ray results. Rather, Jefferson Dental pockets the patients payment for the product- generally $500- and the patient is both denied the product and robbed of their investment. I recently established care at this dental office after moving to Austin. My typical needs are no more than a bi-annual routine cleaning. At my first appointment back in December of 2022, nothing egregious happened, but I had to wait about 40 mins past my appointment time (about 1 hour past my arrival time) for a cleaning and check up that was mediocre. At that time I had a full set of X-rays taken. Fast forward to about 8 months later, I went in for second cleaning. When I got to the chair the attendant started to prepare me for more X-rays. I asked why I was getting X-rays again and she told me they do them for all patients. I told her I just had X-rays at my last visit and I just wanted my teeth cleaned. She appeared unsure how to respond so she went to call over a colleague, I am presuming a dental hygienist who informed me that they are REQUIRED to obtain X-rays every 6 months with cleanings. I expressed that I was not comfortable with this as previously I only had X-rays every 12 months. She asked me if I was insured, which I said I was, and she again stated that insurance REQUIRES this because if they miss anything the dental office will be liable. I told her that I was perfectly comfortable with them documenting that I refused the X-rays if this relieves them of any liability. She continued to insist that they are REQUIRED to obtain X-rays every 6 months and then refused to complete the cleaning without the X-rays. This seemed unusual to me as I have never experienced such a thing in my years of visiting the dentist. I called my old dentist who informed me that insurance typically does not cover twice a year X-rays so they typically do them every 12 months, except if there is a special circumstance that makes them necessary and in such a case they first discuss it with the patient as it often comes at an out of pocket cost. Well perhaps (I thought to myself) this was just a different state and maybe Texas had different requirements. I went on to contact another dental office in Austin who stated that they also only perform X-rays every 12 months (there is no such REQUIREMENT for X-rays every 6 months, although each practice may have its own internal policy). Next step was to check the ADA guidelines, perhaps there is some evidence based guideline that influenced this decision/practice, and sure enough THERE ARE NO SUCH REQUIREMENTS from the ADA. Finally I called my insurance to check if I was even covered for twice yearly X-rays, and sure enough they informed me that they only covered ONCE A YEAR. So, in short this place was trying to FORCE me to have X-rays every 6 months that are NOT required by any law or guideline and are furthermore not even covered by my insurance, and they essentially refused to clean my teeth if I did not get them. Anyway this place was a complete waste of my time. If I could give 0 stars I sure would, and I certainly would not recommend them to anyone else. read more

I wish I could give the office negative stars!! This is by far the worst dental office I've ever been to! Since they've changed providers and office staff things have been all over the place! They are not consistent, they lack knowledge of just about everything!! They also do not call back when they say they will. I had services done in February, they gave me a quote on what my insurance would cover and what I would have to pay out of pocket, which was over $200. I got the services done with a follow up appt scheduled. They called me the day before and stated they had to cancel my appt because my insurance was termed, which baffled me because I gave my new insurance. Well, I have them my insurance again a couple of weeks ago. I never heard back from anyone and now after calling today they are saying they have no new insurance on file. How when I talked to a front desk staff and confirmed everything with the office manager! First off how did you take money from me and do a service without verifying my insurance? It's a new year, I work at a medical office and we verify because typically most insurances change at the beginning of the year. This is ridiculous! I don't write reviews but this office has to get it together!! They did the same to my daughter. My daughter went in for a check up, saw the dentist, and when I took her back off the follow up the dentist didn't even put her notes, care plan, or anything in the chart. They claim she did the minimum work because she was leaving. No excuses!! You are a business!! People are paying money to see you!! This office and new staff are horrible and not professional at all! At first I thought this was a great office since they are open on Saturdays (which is a plus) and I had a really bad toothache so I needed help immediately. They only have 1 dentist (at least I've only seen 1) so the wait time is HORRIBLE. My appointment was at 4:30pm on a Thursday and I left at 7:20pm(I was last to be seeing). I wanted my tooth pulled out, but dentist gave me antibiotics and ibuprofen. I set up another appointment for a week later (again on a Thursday since I work) and same wait time. They have Netflix while you wait. I still had pain and dentist gave me a more stronger antibiotic and a mouthwash that helps with pain. She wanted to do a BRIDGE when all I wanted was my tooth pulled out. I Made another appointment again the following week for a tooth extraction. I received a call the day before my appointment and was told that my dentist wasn't in and another stand in dentist would see me, but tooth extraction would not be possible as it's only an evaluation since the stand in dentist is not familiar with my situation. I never went to the appointment and found my now dental office DAYLIGHT DENTAL( who is incredibly amazing- read that review). Since at every appointment they had done X-rays and billed my insurance, when I went to Daylight Dental they either needed the X-rays or I would need new ones and pay out of pocket because insurance would not cover it. I went to Jefferson dental and it was a WHOLE HUGE dilemma because the X-rays were emailed incorrectly etc. at the end I decided to pay just to end all methods of trying with this office..... LISTEN AT ALL COST AVOID this place LISTEN TO REVIEWS. They just want your money, you WILL WASTE your time with no resolutions. In one of the appointments there was a gentleman there and he had gotten a temp for his Root-canal and as he walked out of the office the temp fell. He was placed in a room behind me and he told me he regretted going there but after this procedure he would look for another dentist... so it's not just me. I gave it a 2* because the office is clean and SOME of the assistants are nice, but for dental procedures just AVOID IT! read more

I've been going to this dentist for a few years. Pricing was fair. People were nice enough. But the experience recently have gone miserable. I'm doing Invisalign an it's been a revolving door of orthodontist. No one seems to know what's going on. I've been stuck in my current tray fir 6 weeks now and I recently called and they still have no idea what's going on. I don't think they even sent in my scan for my final batch of trays. I have never ONCE gone into that office without some kind of screw up happening. Twice they canceled with no notice. At least three times they tried to get me to fill out new patient paperwork, even though we'd been going there for MONTHS. When I assure them my daughter is in the system, it takes ten minutes to find her. Making an appointment takes forever, because it seems like they are training someone new every single time. We've seen three different orthodontists in the time we've been using that office. If we hadn't already worked out insurance and payment for ortho, I would drop them in a heartbeat. I took my kids to get a regular teeth cleaning here. It was the worst experience! The front desk took almost 2 hours to get me checked in. And I went early to do all the paperwork. Once they finally took us in, there was again a slew of errors; computers didn't work, could not get X-rays. At one point they told me one of my kids were done but he didn't get a cleaning! This is the absolute worst office I could have ever chosen. At first it seemed so great, good prices, reliable. What a joke. My invasalign experience has been AWFUL. I should have completed the program 6 MONTHS AGO!! Instead I had to wait 2 months for a new tray because I was waiting for a "new doctor who wasn't in town yet"... I never even got called once the doctor got to town. I had to keep making appointments and getting calls to reschedule them.... once I finally got BACK into the office with the new doctor and new team to get pictures taken for my new invasalign trays I was again told I'd be called when the trays arrived.... it has been 3 WEEKS SINCE MY APPOINTMENT!!!!! I have called their office 4 times in the past 2 weeks and never could get a hold Of the office and instead got directed to their call center where I was told they would send the manager of the office an email and she'd get back to me. What a joke as she never did. On my 4th call I was told that they would bypass the office manager and they would have the supervisor get directly in contact with me..... I thought for sure this time someone would reach out. Nope. Never did. This office needs to be shut down as they don't understand how to take care of their paying clients...... I wish I would've never started this program with them. At this point I have ZERO interest in being that office and just want to finish my invasalign but I can't even seem To get my trays that I've paid in full for. Instead I still have the same trays from 6+ months ago which is disgusting and a gap in my teeth where my invasalign was supposed to fill in...... worse experience you could Imagine.
