I LOVE THIS PLACE! It is in a great location and their food is AMAZING. It has a great selection and their service is wonderful. It is a family atmosphere which is better than "some greasy spoon". Pretty good for the greasy spoon diner variety. Price was in par for most other diners, but the amount of food I got was ridiculous. Close to 2 lbs of potatoes and a massive omelette. Woke up a little early feeling pretty darn hungry and new being a bachelor I have a limited amount of food in my fridge. Not wanting to spend a ton just for breakfast used my yelp app which never disappoints. I had the three eggs and corned beef hash with white bread. Not knowing I thought to myself damn I should have ordered hash browns, breakfast isn't breakfast with hash browns right? Well long story short it also came with a mountain of has browns all for I think ten bucks. It's a family run joint very nice people with excellent service. I can't wait to go back and try more food they have a huge menu. Deffintly a gem in my eyes they honestly don't make places like this anymore! read more

This place can only be described as a gem. I have walked past it many times over the years (remember when it used to be called the Terminal Diner?) but had never stopped in until today. It's bigger inside than it appears from the outside and surprisingly clean. I had the biscuits and gravy. Delicious with real pieces of sausage in the gravy! Only complaint was no decaf coffee but I'm sure I'm in the minority there. The restroom was modern and clean (albeit oddly situated) and the waitress was pleasant and efficient. 3rd time here. Twice for carryout breakfast. Ist time very good fast and good customer service. 2nd time not happy with customer service, lady at counter rude. Today I stopped for lunch. Busy, but staff took orders and put out efficiently. Good meal for a reasonable price. Young lady at counter today was the most pleasant person you can have. Good food. Low prices. Friendly service. Honestly, that's all there is to it. This place is an absolute hidden gem adjacent to the Jefferson Park station. The food is pretty good and they load you up with more than you'll be able to eat. You'll never leave this place feeling like you didn't get your money's worth. That's probably why their tip jar is always doing well. I think people feel guilty for how much food for their very good prices. And I'm sure they like the service too. read more

Very clean and tidy place. Waitress answered all my questions regarding items posted on the menu wallboard. The portions and pricing seem reasonable. Just had a pizza puff and fries and was done perfect. Breakfast skillets observed looked well prepared. Looks like a local place for bus terminal (CTA) workers. The girl taking your order on register is the same person bringing to table your food. Always pleasant. Quick in and out, especially with call ahead for takeout. For less dollars than Micky D's across Milwaukee you can get a better meal here made out of real food. There used to be a different restaurant before Jefferson Park Grill bought it. Not only did they renovate the interior, but they have renovated the menu. The food they serve there now is not only intensely delicious but affordable. This place has the best gyros on the Northwest side of Chicago by far. Furthermore their generous portion sizes all but ensure leftovers. Ordering a gyros plate with a cup of cheese sauce makes for a flavorful meal that is sure to fill your stomach and put a smile on your face. read more

What a pleasant place to visit! It is clean and very friendly service. It was rainy outside and I decided to try the lentil soup. Absolutely delicious...you can guess that I asked for a second bowl. I learned that Mama G makes these soups fresh every day, good old style...chopping veggies on a cutting board...onions/garlic/etc, etc, etc. What a gem! On my second visit, I tried the omelette and I'm quite picky about my omelette. I do not like the one that are fluffy (someone used processed eggs) or the ones where one just stuffs veggies inside an eggshell. These were exactly as I used to eat them when I was a younger child. You mixed all the veggies with the eggs and then grill them....what a pleasant surprise...Delicious! I will definitely return! read more
