He said it didn't sound like anything he was familiar with. I also told him that another optometrist saw swelling in the back of one eye after she dilated it. He said he didn't see swelling or anything else wrong. He never dilated my eyes to look. He said it wasn't necessary because he uses a machine to take a picture, without dilation. Three eye surgeries later, my vision is still greatly reduced. An Opthomologist immediately saw that I had a torn retina and performed emergency surgery to prevent blindness (after she dilated my eyes to look.). I am leaving this review in hopes of saving others from having severe vision loss.

Walking into the office, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. After filling out my paperwork and getting signed-in, I was called through almost immediately. Both the waiting room and the examination rooms were very clean and comfortable. Upon first meeting Dr. Rose he was very professional and listened to everything that was going on very patiently. After taking a look at my eyes he explained the issue I was having in lamens terms- thankfully for me :) Overall, great experience!

He is now about 61 years old. I am sure he has fine technical skills. His office has some real problems with providing good written information, such as SIGNED prescriptions that patients can actually TAKE to their pharmacy, or the other alternative: the NAME of the pharmacy where Rose's office would call in prescriptions. All this information was missing from a packet I received as a patient having cataract surgery. I thought the list of meds I did receive would be adequate for a pharmacy. Wrong. They were not signed. There were four different medications involved for the recovery process, which I would call pretty significant in terms of the zero written information on how to obtain them. Ross's office also provided poor written information on lenses and procedures on choosing them. All of these information issues are the responsibility of the physician to correct; however, in this case, the physician seems to have been pretty casual about the quality and level of information provided through his office and staff. To put it bluntly, I have a very hard time believing that the typical opthalmologist, or physician period, can be (or should be) quite THIS casual or careless about the help provided to his patients. It is HIS office, after all. This has been a lousy experience.

The gal that made my appointment acted hostile after I told her I wasn't comfortable discussing my problem in detail at the front desk in ear shot of the entire waiting room. (I had already given her the diagnosis)Her response was "do you want to go somewhere else ?" She was confrontational when there was no provocation. EVERYONE is entitled to their privacy. The disgruntled caustic employee is your business's first impression. I had no trouble finding another practice.

Everyone sufficient in their perspective positions. It is such a pleasure to arrive with no tension felt from a staff not getting along. We have witnessed unpleasant patients, but the front desk handled with such grace and was able to resolve efficiently and quickly. Unpleasant people can make a waiting room full of people uncomfortable. All we can say to the front desk is JOB WELL DONE! The doctor is not just professional and caring but we really believe he is about the best results possible for his patient. We never felt like the next number to be seen. Very grateful. I also enjoy the professionalism of Dr. Lam and all her staff. Not to mention, she's a gorgeous, intelligent and personable woman to chat with while you're getting your vision checked on. I learned a lot about my eyes that day and my options for when I decide to get Lasik done soon. I liked that her office also carries some of the luxury eyewear brands I enjoy wearing, but not overwhelming with too many options. It only took me about 5 minutes after my exam to pick my new frames for the year. A great place for your yearly eye exam for sure.
