Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever received. For the last year I've been trying to get them to merely tune up and repair some common oil leaks on my 1967 Mustang. One of the simplest engines on the planet. Because I am a reasonable patient customer I have returned the car numerous times over the last year. After prolonged days and weeks in the shop each visit, the car still leaks and doesn't run well. I provided manuals for the car, aftermarket parts for the car, upgrade suggestions as recommended by the Mustang community and even stated that they may do whatever it takes at whatever cost. My suggestions, authorizations and now complaints have been met with minimizing dismissiveness and defensiveness. The general manager hasn't returned my emails because the location manager has run interference. I have nothing good to say about my experience at this location at Jeff's. This place is excellent service center to take your car. When I had a car that was dying , they were incredibly helpful in helping me find the problem and getting it repaired for a much lower cost than other places. In addition to that they also stood by their work, and when I had a transmission leak, refilled my transmission fluid for free until I could get the part replaced. Also when I had a mini cooper with a broken sensor, the mini cooper dealership wanted to charge $700 to fix it, and refused to let me buy them part and have them install it. Instead I was able to get the part online for much cheaper, and Jeff's installed it for less than $100 total! read more

As an obsessive clean-car person, my friends chipped in a few years ago to get me a gift card to Jeff's for a full detail on my car (this location has an attached auto salon, too). While they had the car, I thought, I might as well have them change the oil. That was 3 years ago, and I've been bringing my car there ever since. In my experience, the staff at Jeff's are honest. They tell me when things have to get fixed, give me accurate estimates (how novel!), and here's the most impressive thing - they tell me when things don't have to get fixed! They note potential problems with my car in the computer and check on them each time I come in, and they tell me early on how much it will cost to fix so I can prepare. When I do get repairs done, the prices are fair. Maybe not the cheapest in the area, but they are competitively priced and they stand behind the work they do so I know I won't have to have the same repair done twice. I've never had work done that wasn't done right the first time, which is a big deal if time is a valuable commodity for you. All repair work has been done on time and on budget. They will accept payment over the phone and lock the keys in the car so I can pick it up at my convenience after hours. Fair pricing, honesty, accuracy, and solid work make Jeff's a great place to take a car for repairs. And maybe a detail. read more

My car had a flat tire and they agreed to take a look at it right away. After quickly determining what the problem was, they advised me that I would be better off taking my car to Les Schwab, because they had a longer lasting fix for a flat. They didn't charge me for this service and they were very honest and friendly. They were very knowledgeable and had my best interest in mind. I met all the mechanic's that were there that day too, and they were all professional. As a veteran, I also appreciated that they had hired a veteran as one of their mechanics. They followed up this event with a personal note sent to my home. I have great confidence in their abilities and would take my car there for service again and highly recommend the shop to others. read more

When I first took my car to Jeff's Auto for an oil change, I had fantastic service. My car was ready in 1.5 hours and the employee that helped me was really great. I was recommending the shop to coworkers, and it was a no brainer to book my next oil change with them. When I arrived at 8:20am for my 8:30am appointment, I was asked when I wanted my car back, as per usual I said as soon as possible. The man then said "well even though you had an appointment, it is going to be a few hours cause our guys are just coming in" I was pretty taken aback by this as my first appointment was around the same time and had no issues. When I told them that I had just finished a 12 hours night shift amd would like to get home to sleep sometime soon, we all chuckled and said he said okay. I walked to a nearby area to wait. After 2.5 hours I called to check on my vehicle to ask if it would be ready anytime soon as I was getting very tired. I was told on the phone that they had even more delays and would still be another 30 minutes. When I got back to the shop to finally get my car, it was frustrating that the man did not say sorry for the delays. I understand that somethings are not in our control but a simple "sorry for the wait" would have meant a lot for my very tired mind. After spending 124$ for a 3 hour oil change, I an sad that I won't be booking again as my first appointment was fantastic. read more

jeff's is the most amazing place. they are honest, reliable, and stand behind their work. JEFF'S OFFERS ONE OF THE BEST WARRANTIES IN THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY! i had taken my car to hans auto repair in west seattle [don't!]. their "repair" did $2,200 worth of damage to my engine. even though hans admitted (to a judge because i had to sue him to get my money back) that he "forgot to put the oil baffle back on" my car, he wouldn't warranty his previous work and charged me for additional diagnostics. on the opposite side of the coin is jeff's auto. the technician (louis santiago) did an amazing job. i felt like he treated my car as if it was his own. not only did he do a phenomenal job with the repair, jeff's auto actually followed up several times to make sure that everything was still ok with my car. THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE TO TAKE YOUR VEHICLE FOR AUTO REPAIR THAN JEFF'S AUTO!!!! read more

Made several recommendations, costing upwards of $500, that are not part of the manufacturer's maintenance schedule, i.e. gimmicks like "flushing the fuel injection system for $200." Otherwise, provide prompt and friendly service, one just needs to look into their recommended fixes before going ahead. read more

I just picked my black Beetle up from being detailed at Jeff's Auto Salon and boy am I happy! My car looks so good both inside and out! Having a black car it's tough to keep it looking good but with the great detail job that Jeff's Auto Salon did it will be much easier. I recently brought Jeff's Auto Repair (Matthew's Beach/Sand Point Way) a 1955 Willys 'Jeep' 4x4 Station Wagon that hasn't had maintenance in decades. This 70 year old money-pit has too many problems to list! They fixed the leaky engine oil problem by replacing pan gaskets, rear main seal, etc. These repairs took over a full month, but I was patient with them since the parts were very difficult to find and match to the vehicle. They also installed a new fuel pump with a little ingenuity and modification. Some inevitable transmission issues arose during the process but, despite this, I commend them for having the balls to take in such a decrepit, vintage project. read more

Several years ago a man spotted me in a nearby Hawthorne Hills/Sand Point commercial parking lot trying desperately to remove extensive black graffiti from both sides of my white Buick with some newly-purchased cleaner. It turns out he was the owner of JEFF'S and told me he would have his staff remove the graffiti and provide my car with full detailing at HALF PRICE. What a kind and generous offer! I took my car in the next morning and have never forgotten how caring and professional the staff was - they could see my distress over all the big, black swastikas -- not to mention my worries over permanent damage to the paint. This place is a rip off. They charged me $600 to repair my window passenger window when the rope to move it up and down broke. This year it happened to my driver window & I was able to get it fixed for less than $200 somewhere else. Looking back, this place is a total rip off!!! Charging an arm and a leg! read more

My educated guess says this is an honest shop. A couple of months ago I purchased a car that had an oil change and inspection from Jeff's Auto Service. The previous owner got this a couple days before I purchased it. I did not notice until after a few days that a wrench icon on the dash blinked when I started the car. I thought this was odds since it just had an inspection and oil change. The online forums indicated it is a service reminder. My thoughts were to figure out how to reset it next oil change. Fast forward 2500 miles. I checked my oil and it was at the lower end of acceptable. Knowing that mixing different oils is not recommended I checked the invoice from Jeff's for the oil used. Jeff's used a synthetic which the factory requires. It is Luiqi Moly at $12 per liter. (You will see why I mention the price later.) I researched Liqui Moly and was pleased to discover it to be a high quality oil. Although it is a fantastic oil it is not easily acquired on short notice. So I went to Jeff's. I explained my situation including the blinking wrench icon and presented the invoice. The polite gentleman behind the counter asked if I was the person on the invoice. At this point Jeff's is aware I am not a previous customer. The gentleman behind the desk checks the invoice to see who serviced the car and had that technician take care of the issues. BOTTOM LINE Jeff's topped off my oil and reset the maintenance light. NO CHARGE! Reasons I feel Jeff's is a good and honest shop: 1. Good quality parts ( not cheap crap) 2. Reset maintenance light without question 3. Did not charge for the $8 worth of oil to top my car off. 4. Did not make me wait ( I was there less then 15 minutes) 5. I have lived in the neighborhood my entire life and I've seen Jeff's for quite some time. It really made me feel good the way I was treated at Jeff's. Reminded me of the good old days of Seattle. Thank you Jeff's for being neighborly. FYI this is my 3rd attempt at posting this on Yelp. Jeff's is far better for combating high blood pressure than Yelp. After this pleasent experience I found myself at an auto shop in Mountlake Terrace that tried to charge me for hooking up a battery booster to my car. Sorry but that says a lot about your integrity as a mechanic.The MLT shop also 'tuned up' a friend's car a year ago for $500! It was a S-10 pick-up; nothing exotic probably $100 for parts. An honest shop likely would have realized the timing chain jumped and wouldn't have bothered with timing it up. I feel the way both shop's treated me likely reflects how they treat others. read more

I bought a used car that, unfortunately, needed a ton of work. Jeff's Auto Repair is a AAA approved facility and they recommended I take the car there. I couldn't be happier. Both times I've had my car there, they've taken such good care of me. They kept me in the loop, and even when they delivered difficult news, there was an action plan, and several options. As others have mentioned, there are loaner cars available here, and I've even gotten a ride home from the shop. I no longer live close to Jeff's Auto Repair, but they are my #1 choice, and I dive from the Eastside to have them service my car. I'm so grateful to have Doug and the team at Jeff's as a resource. It's no fun when you need car repairs, but here, you're in trustworthy hands. read more

I had my car towed to Jeff's after breaking down on the freeway. They were very friendly and friendly. I really appreciated Kevin for helping to make a stressful situation better. I was extremely pleased to find out they offered a free loaner car which saved me the cost of a rental. They had my car diagnosed within a couple of hours with very reasonable pricing. They are AAA certified repair shop and offer a AAA discount. I had previously taken my car to the dealership for service since it previously had only really needed maintenance. I was anticipating much higher pricing. They also recommended other maintenance service which I had been planning on doing but just hadn't gotten around to doing since it would mean not having a car for a day or so. Again, they had very reasonable pricing. My car was ready the next afternoon and it runs great! Jeff's is my new go to auto guys! read more

They handled the repair well, but were not entirely straightforward with me about the parts that they were using. When they gave me a $500 bill to replace a Honda alternator, I thought "wow, that's expensive, but I guess that's the price you pay for Honda quality." Just over a year later, the alternator dies AGAIN, so I bring it into my normal Honda mechanic (I brought my car to Jeff's this time because the alternator failed on the freeway and had to have it towed). My Honda mechanic looked at it and realized it was a cheap knockoff brand, and was not surprised that it failed as soon as it did. I think it's pretty much assumed that price equals quality, and unfortunately for Jeff's Auto Repair - this wasn't the case. read more

I needed a 35000 mi inspection on my car. When i picked up the car, they had done an oil change that I very clearly told them before not to do. Something had gone wrong with their paperwork i guess. They also told me that my belts were cracked, needing replacement (for $160). I declined and looked at the belts afterwards. I did not see a single crack. Asking how much it would be to replace the spark plugs (i had gotten new ones that were not installed yet) they told me this is another $60 excluding parts. Pretty pricy. They also recommended a flushing of the fuel injection for $160, another one of these services that is difficult to decline as a layperson? read more

Took me right away. No waiting. The key word is TOOK ME. They did a great job of installing a few brake parts in the rear and bleeding the rear brakes. The whole job took an hour and $300. We have had positive experiences at Jeff's Auto. A month or so ago, we needed to get our brake light fixed asap to avoid a ticket. As a result, we called Jeff's Auto at Sandpoint and they informed us to bring in our car that day. We were able to come in without an appointment and received immediate service. He gave us a free light build and then continued to changed it for us (outside in the parking lot) while it was raining. We were charged nothing! I just got my car back from Jeff's tonight and am so amazed with the quality of service they provide. This is the second time I've used them (for two different cars), and both times they have been upfront on time it will take and pricing. I don't have a lot of money and this last time was overwhelmed with the possibilities of what was wrong with my car. I called other auto shops to see if they could help me troubleshoot the issue with my car and received some horrible comments that were unhelpful. When I called Jeff's, Doug took the time to listen to me and list off what could be wrong and what is for sure wasn't from what I explained. He also informed me that they had signed me up for their rewards program the last time I was in which included towing for free to their shop (I've never heard of this anywhere else). They also added discounts because of this reward program and more discounts because of where I work. So thankful for their quick service (everything was done in a day without an appointment), and fantastic customer service. Most definitely will use them again and would recommend them! read more

Worked with Manager Doug - to order and repair my broken passenger side rearview mirror. He was fabulous and got it installed and working correctly ASAP. I've also taken my car for detailing twice (excellent) and to change oil etc. - They are always so honest and reasonable in their diagnostics (I'm a woman)- we're lucky to have them on Sandpoint so close to Inverness neighborhood too. 5 star on the detailing!! Although I am a tidy person, in 19 years, I had cleaned my car only about once every 5 years- I brought it here for a full service detailing, inside and out, and was willing to pay an extra dirty charge. Well, there wasn't one- and I could hardly recognize my sparkling 96 much loved car. Only $250 and hours of detailed scrubbing and polishing has made it a real pleasure to drive. Thanks, Zach! First off these guys are only open Monday to Friday. If you have a job those hours make it difficult to take your car in. I took my car in to get a few things worked on one of those being a windshield fluid pump fixed. I told the guy it was broken but wasn't sure if it was a fuse or the pump. He calls me to tell me it's the pump. I say ok assuming he was going to fix it. When I pick it up the pump is not fixed and he tells me it's broken. I know it's broken that's why I brought it to them. WTF? So no pump fixed and again because they aren't open on the weekend I have to make plans to have someone pick me up and drop me off. I'm not pleased right now. I want to give them my money but they sure make it difficult. read more

Fortunately, I don't need repairs too often, but on those occasions I do, they are very professional and the shop is clean (this does matter to me). I came in with a $40 off card to get an oil change. They charge a lot for oil changes and do an inspection to tell you what needs to be replaced. Standard procedure, I get it. They told me my brakes are going bad and need to be replaced and quoted me other things which were way overpriced. I went to a brake shop and they told me I have about 5000 miles left before they start to squeak which is when I should bring the car in, so I wasn't impressed with what Jeff's auto was trying to make me do. Avoid at all $$COST$$!!! This place totally ripped off my aunt, I was out of town so she took her truck there to have a recurring power window problem fixed (elec motor) and they charged her up the *** and replaced the switch only-the same one I'd replaced a wk earlier, knowing dam well the motor was the problem (if you kicked the door panel while holding the switch in the up position the motor would start working again and roll the window up), so after that they charged her for a "corrosion treatment" on her battery, which consisted of spraying a store bought aerosol all over the top of the battery, the fender, the radiator, air intake etc, to the tune of $50somethin bucks (the spray costs $7 at any parts store-though it looked like they had used the ENTIRE can) and the battery was a 3wk old Interstate I'd installed myself, at which point I had cleaned both the positive and negative terminals. Oh, and the window switch-the one I'd already replaced for $22 from Schucks? They hit her for $200+ incl labor, IT TOOK ME 10 MINUTES THE FIRST TIME!!! I used to wk @ Les Schwab when I was younger and learned everything I know about customer service and doing the right thing as well as how powerful word of mouth is while employed there and still use those same fundamentals today as an independent contractor and if I conducted myself as they did/do I would no doubt be out of work in no time flat. Now I've heard tales of women getting stuck with bogus repair bills (blinker fluid, muffler bearings, etc) due to a "lack of knowledge" but this was just too much, I find it hard to believe these men have any respect for their mothers, absolutely appalling.
