Solid breakfast spot right off of DU's campus. Sweet potato hash was solid and the other hashes that were ordered also looked good. Doughnuts to start were easy to share and something I would recommend. Fair amount of hippies rolling in and out, but it is Denver. Staff was really nice, very granola, and perfect for this kind of place. As breakfast places go, this is definitely a good option whether you are a local or out-of-towner like myself. read more

Met the fiancé for lunch today and we were both fans. Definitely a casual joint and a little "granola" but if you don't mind excessive tattoos and odd piercings you'll be ok (my mom would have issues). He had the jelly burger- yum! One of the best breakfast spots in Denver! Try the donut bites, they're phenomenal! On my last visit I had the Salmon Benedict, and my girlfriend has a hash with beats, potatoes, spinach, and bacon. Our meals were excellent as always. They were busy this morning, we got there around 11:30am which is prime time for any breakfast place in Denver. The gluten-free donut bites freak my week every Saturday morning. The superlady wallpaper and cereal box kitch is adorable. Coffee is great. Ask for your eggs cooked a little more than you'd think though--otherwise you will get a very runny 'over-medium'. There are a few brunch chains in this city everyone knows--snooze, syrup, egg and I, and Jelly. Of them I think Jelly is the best for gluten free--and of the two I like this one more than the one on 13th. read more

Well, it is pretty much like the one in Cap Hill, except the parking is easier and you can walk in and get a table (for now). They also had $3 Bloody Mary Happy Hour until noon today--spicy and pickled green beans...mmm! They were out of gluten free donuts, which I get happens, but it is my reason for going to Jelly, so it was disappointing. Also, my goat cheese was scrambled right into my eggs, when I wanted it as a dollop on the hash. My gluten free toast was good, but I remember getting more than one slice at the one in Cap Hill; I admit I could be mistaken on this. We had excellent service at the counter. As a general note, the food was really salty, more so than anywhere else. I know my pallet tastes saltiness, but I felt my blood pressure rise after eating today. This place was good, and so easily could have been great. The wait was a bit long and it was too crowded inside so we loitered out on the sidewalk for half an hour. Our server was super nice. He kept coffees full; stopping by multiple times to top em off. They also had yummy green tea for me. It took easily 20 minutes for us to receive our food, which after our wait outside started to push me and my fellow diners into hungry/grumpy mode. But the food finally did arrive. I ordered the BBLTT: Bacon jam, brie, lettuce, tomato, house roasted turkey and basil mayo on sour dough. Again a case of good that could have been great. For some reason when I read it on the menu it sounded like a hot sandwich, but the turkey is cold and the bread isn't toasted. If they had thrown this on the griddle for a few it would have been really tasty, as is it's a 3 star sandwich. I'd definitely be willing to give this place another shot, if only because we didn't try the donuts this time around. read more

We were able to get on the waitlist online, which was definitely the way to go! There were people waiting all over outside, and we were able to be sat as soon as we walked in. The food was delicious. We started with a small order of doughnuts which were super moist and not overly sweet. I ordered an omelette and my friend got the hash. Both dishes were equally as good! Coffee was delicious. The only reason I took a star was because the service was not super attentive. We sat with empty plates for quite a while before the bill was brought. I love this place. We always get seated pretty quickly (I don't go at their busy times). They have bottomless mimosas for a really great price. The staff has always been pleasant and the service is always really quick. One time we took a while to finish our drinks and they let us stay after closing for a few minutes. read more

I am a big breakfast person- it is the most important meal of the day, after all. As I go to school across the street from Jelly, I decided to give it a try right after it opened last year, and have been a die hard fan ever since. I have had nothing but consistently good food and service. The breakfast bar area is a great place if you are dining alone, or if it is early enough, they will kindly give you a comfortable table. The staff at Jelly aren't over attentive- you won't have some ridiculously enthusiastic server hounding your table to check on you a thousand times when you just want to read at 7 AM. They are relaxed and genuine, and want to keep you happy. For this reason, I love doing breakfast or lunch meetings at Jelly- plenty of time to chat and relax with friends. My favorites on the menu? The northwest scramble with salmon- YUM. I also really enjoy the donut bites, and the Thai is my favorite and super unique! Make sure you get a biscuit on the side of your meal- hot, buttery, fluffy, and served with their delicious namesake Jelly. This place has been a welcomed refuge from busy days for me. This place is awesome! In four days in Denver, my girlfriend and I came here FOUR times. We're pretty avid searchers of yelp, Urbanspoon, Google, etc. looking for new spots. But Jelly is that good. The cool vibe, super friendly staff, and very thoughtfully crafted unique breakfast menu was superb. We tried most things on the menu. Just as a diner, this place is five stars. Everything was cooked perfectly. Our waitress the first day took time to write down suggestions for other fun places to go and great restaurants to try. Couldn't be happier eating there. The icing on the cake, or jelly I guess, was the incredible jelly they have for sale. The best jelly we'd ever tried, we bought a bunch to give to our hosts on our trip. The T-shirts are cool too. In a city full of great breakfast/brunch options, Jelly U has become our very favorite. The food and service are both consistently outstanding. We love the coffee counter and donut bites while we wait (yes, there is usually a wait and it's always worth it!). The specials are always, well, special - great, interesting dishes that are delicious to boot. And the service... The people who work here really create a wonderful, fun atmosphere and experience. Today, Erin was our server, and wow! It's Father's Day and our daughter's birthday. Right away she brought a special treat for our little girl and provided friendly, outstanding service to us despite what was clearly a very busy morning for her. Another standout today was Lauren, who sweetly engaged our daughter in a conversation about their shared love of unicorns, then brought our girl some fun silly star glasses to add to a magical birthday. Erin and Lauren are two of the great staff members at Jelly, but honestly, all the servers are great and we've never had a bad experience there. Avoid the tables by the entrance to the kitchen. The waitress that tends to work that area isnt as good as the others. The food is the best in town for Americana breakfast. This is my favorite location. You might have to park so far you need a sherpa and pack mule to get to the restaurant but they ARE CONSISTENT. The food tastes great everytime. I love the capucchinos. You wouldnt expect the coffee to be so good at a non-coffee joint. The donut things are pretty awesome too. I wanted to love it here ... But only came out kind of liking it. Their service was friendly and attentive and the concept was fun, but execution of the food was somewhat lacking. We started brunch with their signature donuts, the regular ones weren't being offered since there was something wrong with the day's batter so we opted for the gluten free ones. Flavor of the donut holes dough were great but some of the glazes weren't as tasty as others. We ordered the special short rib Benedict and the sweet potato hash. The chorizo in the sweet potato hash was very flavorful but the potatoes... Seemed to be steamed and had a mushy consistency which was very disappointing for a hash since I was anticipating slightly crispy potatoes to go with the eggs and chorizo. The Benedict flavor was great but one of the poached eggs were overcooked and the short rib was a little too lean. Overall it would be a place I might consider to duck in again if I'm in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. read more

They have their special donuts, but the filling is simply spread on top of the donut holes, which was denser than other "donuts." Unfortunately I still can not recommend this place due to the service. They're always very friendly BUT something is always wrong with the food. Twice they didn't have any smoked salmon left, so they just brought out a different plate! Granted, they comped half of the dish; but that's not what I ordered! The food quality is also inconsistent. Last time I was there everyone liked the food but they served cheese on my sandwich even though I told them I was allergic to cheese... they comped half my meal and re-made it, but that's just dangerous... My read on the situation is that they are expanding too quickly and sometimes don't have quality control at this location. read more

This was hands down a terrible experience. We were in the area for my birthday and were told to check Jelly out. We showed up and there was a wait. I have no issues waiting for a table. Normally I'm happy to wait because you know it'll be good. We had six and watched as the hostess sat 2 top after 2 top. We watched as they had tables open and instead of pushing two tables together we were forced into waiting for a booth. Once we finally got sat, service was slow. Our server was very nice but we had to wait forever and we also had leftover sugar packet paper in one of our waters. The food came out and my poached eggs were legit hard boiled eggs. The yolk was fully cooked. I was so hungry from waiting so long I just ate it. Definitely not what I was hoping for. Disappointed read more

My family LOVES Jelly! Everything is outstanding but I would strongly recommend trying the Molly Brown hash. Throw calories to the wind, trust me when I say this is one that should be on your foodie bucket list. The harmony between the turkey and the savory French toast will make your toes tingle!!! I have fairly high expectations for restaurants earning my dollar for food, service, presentation, etc. So 4 stars from me is saying a lot. I have to say that after eating at the Cap Hill Jelly multiple time....they don't disappoint. The service has been great, even on busy mornings. The food menu is creative...this isn't your typical menu. The quality is great. The Tres Leche pancake and the harvest hash are two of my favorite breakfast items. Keep up the good work guys! I get that people are giving low reviews due to the crowd, which I just don't understand. This place gets swarmed just as bad as Snooze, and it's just as worth it. My favorite was the mix-and-match of donut holes, with the best by far being the Maple Bacon. Sweet without being too sticky, the bacon was crunchy and not greasy, and the holes themselves are a generous singular bite, but not overwhelming. The filling for the creme holes could use a little work, in terms of sweetness and thickness. I expected a custard, not a thick frosting. I absolutely inhaled my salmon bennie. Delicious. We had fun sitting at the bar because it's all tiled in Scrabble letters, and we spent our breakfast picking out words. read more
