This place has an amazing selection of donuts that me and my kids love! The donuts are fresh and they have a very big selection. I just tried their banana bear claw which is a bear claw with fresh banana inside! It's so yummy and you should try it. Cash only. They also have a good selection of coffee if you need one to accompany the donuts. read more

My family and I have been going to this donut spot since I was a kid. They've been around for years and the people who work there and possibly own the place are super friendly! We usually order the sugar, crumb and glazed donuts and they're baked to perfection. Super fluffy on the inside and has the right amount of sweetness! I also like to order the ham, egg, cheese croissant which is huge and made to order unlike other places like Starbucks, etc. Back in the day, you could sit inside and eat but I think since Covid it's been more of a "to-go" situation. I did notice that the prices have increased but totally understandable with all the tariffs. But I love coming here and love supporting local businesses like this one. read more

** BE AWERE ** Just the day before we ordered a dozen spending almost 50 dollars . We bit into the the donuts they were raw , we went back and tried to get things corrected but instead we spent 30 minute going back and forth about the donuts being raw , she herself said these donuts were from last week . So what does that tell you ? . OLD DONUTS . she proceeded to touched all the donuts with her BARE hands . we had receipts we had everything and they declined to right their wrong . Serviceable donuts for some place that's 24/7. I'm not sure about individual donut quality as some looked more aged/rugged than others. Service was barebones nothing to complain about. I would probably avoid their parking lot though it seems to be carefully curated to wreck your car under carriage. read more

92 year old Mother in-law wants a sugar doughnut on a Sunday evening the day before Labor Day. Where to go this late at night? Why Royal Donut which was open but like other independent shops would be closed on that holiday. Calling ahead to see if he had what she wanted the owner said he had it and we quickly drove order to the Colma location. Owner was really nice and another doughnut that I bought and tried was still fresh even though it was made earlier in the day. Highly recommend Royal for a late night pick-up for that doughnut craving. read more

I was craving something sweet but a lot of places are closed Saturday night! It was 8:30PM and found this place through Yelp. The reviews here were average but Google reviews said 4 stars. So I had to try it for myself! The experience confirms I should follow my fellow Yelper's reviews... The donuts were a hit and a miss :( I ordered a blueberry and old fashion donut. The blueberry tasted old (definitely made over 2 days ago). The old fashion was better. I guess I should have known seeing the available options were so empty. $10 credit card minimum. A friend visits my family every Sunday. She rarely comes empty handed despite usually coming before or after work. Her latest stop produced a box of "donuts". Our friend didn't describe what was in the box so it was a nice surprise when I bit in. There were slices of banana that luckily were not spoiled yet despite not being refrigerated. I enjoyed this but it was a bit due to the time lapse before I tried it. When going to pick up a donut before work, I went to this shop. I really wanted a jelly filled donut and a sprinkle one for later. I asked for my jelly filled donut when he asked me "would you like raspberry or lemon?" I asked for Raspberry Jelly Filled... I don't really care for lemon curd. When I got to work I realized he accidentally put a lemon filled donut inside. I called the shop a few minutes later and there was a lady who answered and said "I heard you tell him lemon too" well last time I checked when someone orders a jelly filled... they're speaking about raspberry jelly, not lemon curd.. had that have been the case I would have said "Lemon Filled". My sprinkle donut also had a weird rancid flavor tasting like old oil. It was shocking to see how the lady immediately insisted I was lying instead of having me come back to quickly fix it. You ever walk into a place and immediately realize it's one of those places where the workers just don't care? Welcome to Royal Donuts! Negatives: - Donuts taste 10 weeks old. - Parking lot looks like a construction site. - Owner/workers are grumpy as hell. - Flies around the displays. - The donuts have probably been dropped on the floor a minimum of 3 times. - The workers look like the kind of people who don't wash their hands. - Other reviewers mentioned expired food and moldy food. YUP. Expect it here. Positives: - There is a better donut shop just down the street. Happy Donuts. - There is a better donut shop in San Bruno called Rolling Pin Donuts. - There is a better donut shop in SSF called Royal Pin Donuts. - There is a better donut shop in Burlingame, also called Happy Donuts, but probably the best one especially if you like cronuts. 3rd time now the younger kid working there (clearly part of the family) adds extra items to my total and quickly tries to run the transaction. So, now I know it's not a mistake. He adds the most expensive items, too. Fool. I caught him now a few times but he's not learning. This is theft of your customer. If it happens again, I'll report it to the business licensing division and have your license to operate pulled. read more

Upon entering, the employee behind the counter was very welcoming and answered all our questions. I did see one fruit fly in the donut cases but that is common at bakeries, as I've seen fruit flies in Tartine's pastry cases as well. We ordered 1 cronut, 2 chocolate donuts, and 2 glazed donuts, with the total coming out to ~$11. The donuts here are sweet and airy. The glazed donut was great, and the cronut was just a tad dry. They may be better microwaved for 5 seconds to make them softer but I haven't tried that personally. Note: please support local businesses! - $10 minimum for credit card transactions, otherwise $1 will be charged as a fee - A plus is the parking lot they have just for their shop, so parking is easy. read more

24/7 donut shop! So there you go... when craving for sweet treat anytime of the day. Walked in around 10:30pm, the place was quiet. We were the only customers in the store and somehow we got the chilly reception. No doubt the donuts were good that was why we stopped in. But definitely disappointed with the vibe! read more

Please be careful when you pay the lady in charge tend to overcharge people I requested a receipt she refused. She told me to pay first and then she get out the receipt. I was right. She overcharge me and argued afterward. I felt like I swallowed a fly in her donuts. read more

The go-to place for classic donuts. They are soooo fluffy and delicious. I used to come here a lot when I was a kid, but have since started coming back to fulfill my morning sweet tooth. I love all of the classics but the maple bar with custard and donut holes are my number ones. They take cards now (I saw someone say it was cash only, so wanted to provide that update!). I came here at 1pm, got 3 donuts ($1.49 each - cash only unless you're spending more than $10..then you can use card). Got the crumble, glaze, and chocolate. I know, basic flavors. Beware, please look at your food before eating. I ordered a bagel and cream cheese and it was moldy and the cream cheese was a totally different color. Almost looks like it was strawberry, but trust me its not. I went back to show the guy that it was unacceptable. He didn't care, he just gave me the money back and was not apologetic at all. I have also come here a few times and there old fashioned donuts were stale. A few times I have seen flies flying in the display case. I recommend going to Happy Donuts on east market ave. Just a few blocks away. If I could give this place 0 stars I would read more

There was no line at all, so my drink came out really quickly. Service was efficient, and basically non existent since you order on your phone, and pick it up from the counter. They have some seats indoors and a few benches outside, it's pretty spare and basic inside which is all you really need in a cafe. I saw a lot of people getting takeout, and some small groups around tables chatting. I was debating between the matcha and houjicha, then got intrigued by the black sesame, and finally after much internal debate, decided that black sesame + houjicha would work best together and wanted the einspanner. They honestly have so many intriguing options like Earl grey matcha einspanner??? Banana pudding?? I have to come back. My only complaint is the price but I guess everything is expensive these days. $8/9 for one of these drinks hurt my heart though. On the flavors: while I wish there was more black sesame (I always do), this was one of the most satisfyingly black sesame items I've had from a cafe. It went really well with the toasty roasty notes from the houjicha and I think they added enough of both amidst the milk to make it a very satisfying drink. This can be rare because a lot of places drown out all the flavors with too much milk. The best part though, was the einspanner - the sweetened whipped cream on top really brought the whole drink together and was so delicious. It made it just that little bit more decadent. I got it at minimal sweetness and at first though it wasn't enough, but I was glad I did as I worked my way through the cup, it was perfect.
