I am a self-proclaimed donut expert. One of my favorite things to do when I'm visiting somewhere I've never been is find an independently owned donut shop. Jelly Donut. C'mon, how can you resist a name like that! It's a nice, simple donut place. The selection isn't huge, but it doesn't have to be. You'll have no trouble finding what you like. The donuts? Well, I put them to my donut test. I had a glazed twist and a cake donut. Both passed the test with flying colors. You can tell a good donut because it does not have an oily aftertaste. These were both excellent. On top of that, the prices are lower than any donut shop I've been to in a long time. The woman who was working there, I think she was the owner, was super nice. I had coffee as well. Great coffee. They also have ham and cheese croissants, boba, cappuccino, hot chocolate, and canned and bottled drinks. Parking is plentiful and easy, right in front. I heard about this place from a local in La Quinta CA. Being a donut lover I had to try the donuts. Off I went and only to find out they were sold out of product. And closed. Went back a few days later to see a fully stocked store. Bought a large apple fritter and a Boston cream. The service was great. The place was clean. I would return again. read more

I am a local in Indio. I've came to the jelly donut before and they have the best donuts so far in the valley I usually have amazing experiences here but today wasn't one of them. I just got off work and wanted to stop by for some donuts for the family and some Boba for myself usually the Boba is amazing, soft sweet and savory. So I was hoping for something of that sort but after I got my Boba and donuts and left, I realized that Boba was rock hard. I tried to ignore it, but it was so bad to the point that I couldn't I ended up going back and I asked him if he can just make me a drink without the Boba, but he was very rude. Said take your money back and said that's always how it comes out and to leave. There was nothing wrong with the donuts. They were good as always but the service and Boba were horrible. read more

We are somewhat new to Indio, and since we drive by Jelly Donut at least once a week, we decided to stop in try their donuts one day late last year, since when we can, we prefer patronizing ma-and-pa type businesses vs. chain/franchise restaurants. WOW! We were VERY impressed with our donuts! They were out of this world! Plus the customer service is just AWESOME! This is the only place we get donuts now! It does not matter what time of the day we get donuts (in the morning or in the late afternoon), they ALWAYS taste fresh and are always very good! What really impresses me about Jelly Donut, the quality and freshness of their donuts is always consistent and the customer service is just always so great. The people that work here are so patient and they are always very nice, polite, and professional. They offer such spectacular customer service here. We needed a donut shop for our visits out to Indio. Mostly because my children have become accustomed to getting donuts on Sunday morning. So we did some exhaustive research, and by exhaustive, we found a place that was close to our spot. And we got lucky because the donuts here are really, really good. Love the owners and the staff who works here. It's the kind of locals spot that I grew up going to. Jelly donut baker is a legend they have the best glaze twist in all of Palm desert area. They are so light and perfectly proofed. Sometimes I'll come at 10am and they'll already be sold out! Their baker has the magic touch the dough for all their classic donuts ie glaze, maple, twist, are worth trying for yourself. They don't do fancy donuts here no Krueller or cronut but they are some other options like jelly filled (obv) and the old fashion sour glaze or buttermilk are great as well. All the ladies that work there are very kind too. lots of elderly locals will hang out in there in the mornings cuz old people be up at crazy early hours drinking coffee with nothing else to do.
