Monday's Menu: they have a different menu each day
    April M.

Friendly staff, down home country style atmosphere, southern food. We were traveling through town to Atlanta and I was looking for some good ole southern cooking. Unfortunately, the butter beans were canned beans warmed up. The mac n cheese was a miss for my 13 year old who couldn't even finish it. The okra was fabulous and I didn't mind the tomato gravy but it would be good to know that is how they serve it for visitors. I'm pretty sure the mashed potatoes were boxed/powder potatoes. Unfortunately, all the way through dessert it was less stellar than we expected and had hoped for.

I miss good ol country cookin. The menu changes daily. You get a choice from a couple of meats and a variety of vegetables. We came in close to closing time, so they had a lot of things that were out. I would've loved to try the strawberry pretzel salad. It sounded interesting. I got the fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and greens. It was amazing. The pork chop was awesome and full of flavor. The sides were good. It hit the spot after a long day of driving. I wish I was able to try one of their pies or banana pudding, but they were out. I would come back to Macon just to eat here!!

This place is amazing! I have been so many times and never had a bad experience. The food is so quick and fresh, and takes less than 5 minutes. All of the servers are very kind, and the food is great. My favorite is the Macaroni Salad. They accidentally gave me Mac & Cheese instead, but fixed it very quickly. I do think it's a little weird how they have a different menu every day of the week, though. My only complaint is that they should serve Beef Tips and Rice and Macaroni Salad Daily! I love Jeneane's. Banana pudding is heavenly. Highly recommended.

    Hours they are open.

Nice meat and three restaurant! Service was kind. Wish they had fountain drinks but that's a minor complaint. Great southern food!

You need reservations to dine here. There was complimentary bread and peach jam. They have a rotating selection of daily specials, cheeses, and change their menu frequently. I also appreciate the "small plates" section for when you're not that hungry. The cheese board appetizer was a surprising favorite. It had items sourced from local farms. Our waiter was very accommodating and did a good job with recommendations and explaining the intricacies of each item.

You definitely feel the love with their servers. Extensive menu knowledge and very service oriented they aim to give you the best experience possible. So after a tasty cocktail and a very nice charcuterie board I went with the Crab and Panko Crusted Cod. Oh my goodness what a delicious entrée. A tasty crusted outside and so tender inside. And that lemon and miso creamed kale topped it all off. Definitely a place to try when in Macon. The only draw back is that it's up stairs on the 2nd floor with no elevator.

So on our way back from visiting friends at Lake Lanier, I as the passenger + navigator said..hmmm...we need a break but let's find soul food. I said. Who goes thru Macon and dont eat good. Not me. So, I hit Yelp. Then I asked AI. Claude. Claude gave me a list and there was the H! So we drove 20 minutes out the way. Best detour ever! Go early. Buy an extra meal for home. I gladly dropped my cash. ..salmon cakes made me cry....everything was off the chain. Well, I had my good juju on, I sat on a bench with a 30 year veteran of this place. She talked my ear off, what a delight. So the place is decked out in Allman brothers memorbilia. It was their early haunt as they rose to fame. Well the founder, older blk lady is dead. Her family smartly sold out to corporate. But it was worth it. They maintained all thats good. Even the tiny old bathrooms. Need an update for sure. But. .Definitely worth the visit. Parking was horrible! So go early! Now, you need to go by Macon cemetery. See Allman burial, civil war places. I want to explore Macon more now! Well, as we drove home, around Jacksonville, I reached in the back seat. No fork. Just a smile. Yes i fed my driver. Salmon cakes hit on all cylinders. Sadly the two meat plate left off my meat, turkey. But forgiven. I should have checked my to go order. Never trust. Always verify. Broke my own rules! Stop by. Soak up history, flavors in this quaint cafeteria style. Nothing fancy. Just pure delight!

AN EXPERIENCE NOT JUST A MEAL…read more This place is located in a kind of seedy downtown area of Macon. We walked in and the vibe throughout the place won me over instantly. When the staff seem to enjoy their jobs and working with each other as well, chances are you have a winner. We were seated immediately in a cozy booth with floor to ceiling graffiti. The place just oozed character! We were told that at times in the loft above our heads they had live music FYI. The waitress was friendly and on point. We never found ourselves waiting to order or for drinks, etc. The food was great. We started with the solid gold soul rolls which were tasty. I'd say 2-3 people for this app. My wife had the hot pig and fig which she enjoyed. She wanted something a little light and it was perfect for her. I ordered the Dr John Burger. The cook forgot my bacon . No bueno. Our waitress was game and was quick to bring me bacon to complete the burger. It was well cooked and the flavors were excellent so all was good. Our companion enjoyed her food as well. We all left full and happy. And, yes I would return and I recommend trying them yourself.

We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were a great appetizer--crispy, flavorful, and a nice way to kick things off. For our entrées, we had the fish and chips and the smoked turkey sandwich. The fish had a nice crispy batter, and the smoked turkey sandwich was tasty and satisfying. My only disappointment was the fries. They were a bit soggy and lacked the crispiness I was hoping for, especially with the fish and chips. A crisp, hot fry would have taken the meal to the next level. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.
