I called Jennings for a termite inspection, after my general inspector for my home found no termite activity, and the first termite company I called quoted for almost $3,000 for termite treatment and noted multiple spots of the home had termite and dryrot signs. Jennings showed up on time, performed the inspection and sent the report the next day. They found no evidence of dryrot or termites of any kind. I paid the $150 inspection fee and had a $0 quote for termite work. I trust Jennings because I think they were honest and their report supported the findings of my general inspector (who was very thorough). read more

I just had a phenomenal experience with Jennings Termite & Pest Control. Beyond being easy to schedule with, the owner, Dale, showed up and diagnosed my termite problem within two minutes. It was a minor, localized infestation, and since I already had the termite spray on hand, he offered to take care of it for me free of charge! He also looked at a moth problem I had and walked me through what to keep an eye out for and how to get rid of them. Dale couldn't have been kinder and more gracious, and my termite problem is solved without having to spend a ton of money. When we decided to have our house tented to get rid of termites we spoke with a couple of companies. None inspired confidence like Dale and Jennings. They missed termite tubes and paint bubbling which will cost me thousand to repair. The excuse is they only visually check it. Why would i need a termite company if they only look for termite itself. Jennings Termite was OUTSTANDING. I had rats in the attic and first called out one of the name brand places my neighbor had used....they sent out a salesman first (a salesman!?!?!!) to sell me all sorts of packages before he even was sure of the problem because he actually said flat out that he didn't have exterminating expertise and would have to schedule their technician to come out again later in the week. I told him I called for an exterminator and instead got a salesman so told the big name place to take a hike. Then I tried to fix problem myself but could not for the life of me seem to find the access point for the rats. After another week of creepy noises in the attic I decided to try the professionals again, but this time went with the better choice of finding a local business myself and.... ...saw Jennings listed. Called in the a.m. and Trent came out same day....thoroughly looked the place over and like a miracle, found the entry point that I would NEVER have found myself as it was hidden. Fee was super reasonable. He didn't try to sell me any crazy package and had no BS...just got rid of the rats and blocked their entry point. Just what I wanted. Lesson learned (again)...always go to the local business not the big corporation! I would give Jennings Termite 10 stars but Yelp only lets me give 5 so they get 5 for their outstanding service that is sadly so rare now. Oh, and nothing is worse than rats in the attic! I am so glad I went with a local company. My hours this month are crazy and I needed someone to come out to my house this past Saturday, because our home has rats. We have feeling like prosoners in our home and I have two small children that are freaked out completely, as am I. I called Jennings and told them my situation. Trent called me back and told me that they usually don't work on Saturdays, but he would ask his guy Kyle if he would be willing to come out on a Saturday morning to look at the situation. Kyle called and was able to make it out. He informed me of all the areas that the rats have access and he placed traps in several areas and has been out every day since he set the traps. He has figured out their entry points and will also be covering all the holes that the rats have access to get in. The price is very reasonable (as one quote from an unnamed company was $1400.00, WOW!!! ). Jennings has worked with me on a flexible schedule and has been super accomodating. I can't say enough nice things about this company and their employee, Kyle. For any future needs, this will be the place that we call. We contemplated hiring a "bug guy" for several years and finally decided to go with Jennings. We also got two additional referrals for him right off the bat. Our home is a clean, remodeled home with mostly concrete grounds. Landscaping is well-maintained and tidy. There is no clutter, garbage, etc. Compared to other homes, we have tried to limit those "hiding spots" for insects and creatures. Our first spray was immediate and a pleasant experience. Trent took the time to clean the existing spiderwebs that accrued on the stucco and in the planters. After the spray (about a week), the webs and spiders were back. We thought that recent rain may have caused some dilution and asked Trent to come back out. He came back out to re-spray, but seemed a little irritated. Our next spray or two was on schedule and seemed to hold. Our most recent spray was an absolute failure. Not only did we see no improvement, within three weeks it seemed like the crickets and spiders had doubled. I made a point not to water, and it certainly didn't rain. A couple of examples would be a brown recluse spider in plain view lodged in a web between our stucco and city trash can, and a black widow with large web in a planter. The crickets are insane and have overtaken the driveway and our porch. There was a stretch of cob webs spanning the length of our driveway along the fence line and stucco. We are huge supporters of Burbank-based businesses. This service, unfortunately, left us feeling like we wasted money. At this point, we have nothing to lose by trying everyday bug spray that can be purchased at the hardware store at a fraction of the cost. I see many are pleased with Jennings' service. Maybe we got a bad/weak batch of chemicals. Not sure, but also not willing to continue to pay for a service just to test it for success. read more

This review is late and I apologize. This happened on June 7th. I have an airbnb and am a Superhost. I work really hard to retain that rating. Out of nowhere my guesthouse suddenly got these huge water roaches! I almost died of embarrassment. I had never had any kind of bugs in my house or my guesthouse in 20 years! My guest was really freaked out (don't blame him) but I got right on the phone with Jennings and they came out within a couple hours and got rid of the problem IMMEDIATELY. I can't even tell you how relieved I was (as was my guest!) They were super friendly, they understood my urgency, they reassured me as to what the bugs were and why we suddenly had them, and they took care of it in 15 minutes! Pretty much everyone has had the experience of having a problem, whether it be automotive or home-related, "overdiagnosed." Sometimes it seems like the terms "honest mechanic" or "honest contractor" are oxymorons. The Jennings folks, specifically Dale Jennings, restore my faith that there are still people out there who regard their job as doing what's best for the customer, not pushing unnecessary, expensive solutions. After noticing what was obviously termite damage on a window sill, I called Mr. Jennings for help. After examining the damage, he told me he could do spot treatment, but warned there might be significant hidden problems. We agreed that he would return to conduct a full inspection of our house. On the day he returned he spent more than an hour examining every room, the attic and basement of our home. I braced myself for a recommendation that we needed to tent the house, at a cost of many thousands of dollars, in order to be sure that the problem was fully addressed. Instead, Dale said he'd found no evidence of widespread termite damage. Though he did find some live termites in a specific spot, he said it could be taken care of by replacement of a board. I was entirely dependent upon Dale's diagnosis and recommendation, and he knew it. Many in his place would have suggested the unnecessary, and highly profitable, tenting alternative. He did not. He's an honest guy, and I've no doubt that his ethical standard reflects that of the entire organization. read more

I had called Trent out a couple of years ago to remove bees from a tree. Remove means kill them. He looked at them and said that they will not stay in that location long because it was not the right spot for them. He said that they are just gathering there and in 5 to 7 days they should leave. I hated to kill them because the bees are disappearing and dying off. I did what he said and waited and sure enough they left. He did not charge a dime for coming out. I am still very grateful that I did not have to kill that huge group of bees, thanks to Trent. read more

They inspected the house from top to bottom. I have never seen such attention to detail. I am writing this right after the inspection. As far as pricing, I haven't priced around, but seems fair.
