It is difficult to give Jensen ANY stars - working with them was an absolutely horrible experience. We have moved around the country several times and NEVER had such a bad time with a moving company. Their estimate was higher than others, yet we selected them because they were supposedly a long-time family owned business that cares about its customers. Nothing could be further from the truth. We moved from Doylestown to Charleston where we built a house. Originally we were going to send some things to both Charleston and Colorado, but that wasn't necessary so we were able to send everything to South Carolina - even though they were suppposed to have separated our belongings into shipments for two locations. That was a joke!!!!! They lost stuff, broke stuff, sent our belongings in two shipments to Charleston and because one truck came in May and the other in June 2022 (they said they were short a driver) we were charged for June storage - which, by the way, was way higher monthly than the estimate!!! (quoted $1950/month, charged $2400/month, automatic withdrawal, the only way they would work). Right up front we had told them we weren't sure how long we would have our things in storage. Once we got a move-in date from the builder, we contacted Jensen and they said they would send things in two truckloads, one to "hold us over" until everything could be dellvered. In the first shipment we received a hodge podge - no chairs, one kitchen table with no legs, a mattress with no bed, no dishes or cooking utensils, etc. It was quite a challenge trying to move into a new home for the weeks we waited. Now, after getting settles and assessing the situation, we have been trying to reach a settlement. I'm supposed to know the inventory number of each item that was destroyed, have receipts for family heirlooms that were broken, as well as receipts for a dog grooming table and 84" television that are missing. Pictures aren't enough. They obviously don't want to give us any satisfaction and don't appreciate their customers. To be honest, I have no idea how they are still in business. They have a brochure that says they're a caring family business and that is not the case. They have shown no concern for our situation and have made it clear they will not offer any compensation for the lost and damaged items, inconvenience of not having beds, chairs, kitchen items, etc., and being treated rudely, making the moving process stressful and most upsetting. They severely underquoted our move even though they explicitly told my husband that they are usually within 5% of their estimates, and they completed a thorough walk through of entire home including our attic and basement crawl spaces, as well as our shed. When it comes to moving, you want to choose a company that is honest, is fair, and is transparent. Based on other reviews, it would seem our experience is not unique. Here's our experience: Estimate: $5,950.18 Actually Billed: $8,330.86 + $500 deposit = $8,830.86 We would've been happy to pay our bill without question had it been accurately quoted. But you can imagine our surprise when we're told the company is usually within 5% of their estimate and the invoice was 48% more than the estimate. When we questioned this on the phone prior to paying the bill, Nick P. said he didn't know how the estimate could be so far off, but that we needed to pay our bill in full or else the movers couldn't get paid (however, as a business owner I know that there are more operating expenses than just the employee's pay built into the local move hourly rate). We were told if we didn't pay, that he would instruct the movers to leave with our belongings. The movers also told my husband they were instructed to stop working until we paid the invoice. So we had no choice but to pay our bill at that time. No apology was offered either by Nick P. - just you need to pay or the movers need to quit the job. Very disappointing and awful customer service. Nonetheless, we were told we needed to pay in full and we could submit a refund form. To no one's surprise, they refused our refund. I've attached pictures of our submission for our refund request and Jensen Movers reply if you'd like to read those in depth. Their argument was that my husband was asking for more people and more boxes because not everything would fit in what they brought. AND THAT IS THE ISSUE! They did a COMPLETE walkthrough of our home and saw all of what needed to be moved, which included the wardrobe that they identified in their response to us. At the walkthrough, the Jensen movers representative told us it was no problem to move that for us. Even with doing a complete walkthrough, they came completely unprepared for the move. Not enough man power, not enough boxes, not enough trucks. So we got hit with a surprise final invoice because this company was not able to accurately estimate what was needed for our move and what it would cost us. Again, I have no problem paying for a job. My problem lies with the company severely misquoting us (after boasting about how accurate they usually are), and then providing horrendous customer service when we were voicing our concerns/distress with the much higher invoice total. What were they going to do with our items, re-sell them or just hold us hostage. I have been a Realtor in the area for 43 years, I am around people moving daily. Stay as far away from this outfit as you can. We have moved interstate via corporate relos at least 7 times. This was hands down the worse experience ever. They damaged goods, missed deadlines, dodged responsibility, lied, packed my Harley on it's side strapped to the floor on blankets, lost items, packet our family videos and computes disk with tools including and industrial coupling magnet (yep) and erased everything. We moved from Pennsylvania to New Jersey recently. The office staff was responsive to our questions and needs. It was very hot when the truck was packed and unpacked. The packing team was quick and very professional. They asked for ice, which I purchased and I also bought them ice pops. They were great! The delivery team was at best poor. The supervisor was great, his team however was not. The men argued, cursed and one was particularly unpleasant. ( I called the office about this person after the move). They also arrived unprepared for the job. All items were wrapped in plastic. We had to lend the men utility knives to cut the plastic. They took the utility knives with them when they left (note: we were reimbursed for these). Every box was labeled with the room they were to be delivered to. The team brought all boxes to the basement. Boxes clearly labeled fragile were put on the bottom of piles..several items broke. Our patio set table was damaged. My shoe rack and a 3 drawer drawer cabinet were destroyed ( they told me, I never saw these items). The amount of damages was not enough to file a claim. Would not have been given credit otherwise. Nothing was added to my move by me. The estimate contained all personal items in the home. Yet they (Jensen) discredits my review because of "incorrect information". I took responsibility for my initial post and revised it to include the credit they insisted I didn't highlight. Why wait for a customer to complain about a drastic increase? What if I was naive enough to accept the $1200 increase? Do you have a customer satisfaction policy? Is it in any of your policies to not reach out to customers regarding a large difference in their estimate vs actual price? Probably, seeing as you don't mind increasing your loyal customers monthly rate to compensate for lack of business. No, their assumptions on the explanation of facts are not acceptable. I have not contacted Jensen for my items being that I have no destination to deliver the items. Stay as far away from this company as you can! They remind me of that joke about a guy who would rather chew his arm off then wake them, just to get away. I did just that to get away, but my arm will grow back I'm sure. They start out nice enough. Nick comes to your home, walks through, tells you how long he's been doing this, and how good he is at estimating. He will also make other promises to you, but I'll get into that later. I will give them credit for one thing. They packed up everything very nicely, and moved it into the truck. Here is where it begins though. Nick, isn't that good at estimating, and it's going to cost much more than you were told. I didn't really have a problem with that, because we had a lot of nice things, and I wanted to get it moved. That, they did. The final bill was a few thousand more than quoted, but it is what it is. Insurance! Look out for this ploy. They quote you a price to insure your things. Now, I lived in a million dollar home with everything they moved for us. My homeowners insurance was about $2000 dollars a year for the home and all my contents. Their quote was for $1400 dollars. Ok, I'll take it, even though my new homes insurance covers me while my things are in Jensen storage facility. We stored it because we are building a new home down south, and won't be finished for two years. Here's what you don't know, and would never believe. It's $1400 dollars insurance to move it to their facility, then $1400 dollars a month, for a yearly total of $18,200 dollars. Wow! I call the office about this, after they start charging me for this. Remember, I used to pay $2000 dollars a year to insure this furniture, including my home for $1,250,000. I get a girl on the phone, Megan Bowman, who immediatly lets me know, she loves her job! And, her job..........being as ignorant to you as she can be. In disbelief, I can't believe I'm talking to the same company, but I quickly realize......she's for real. The red headed step child no one likes. She gets the call all the time, and is fully prepared for it, because I believe they work in harmony on it. Nick tells you a price, but doesn't say, that's a month only......after all, if he did, no one would fall for the trap. She knows it's coming, but by the time you realize itif you didn't read the fine print, it's too late. They got you. She agrees to cancel my insurance at that point going forward, but not refunding the premiums they have already charged. Read the fine print she tells me! Oh, OK. She is right, I should have, but when they said insurance was $1400 dollars, who in their right mind would believe that was for a month only, plus the same charge for every day on moving. I bite the bullet, and move on. We were also told by Nick that the longer we stored, the more money we would save, as he could offer free months storage after paying for 6 months. Then a free month, then pay for 6 months, then a free month......etc, you get it. He wrote that on the contract...........sort of. He wrote, first months storage free, then 6 months paid, then free........ I should of had him spell it all the way out in writing. When a year in storage passed, and I thought I was entitled to a free month again, I got...........You guesssed it, Megan Bowman again, who already knows how to deal with this, because I believe, it's the orchestration that counts, and they have it down solid. Despite what Nick told us, his language in the contract can be interpreted any way they want to do it, and they do it their way. You lose again! You're not getting a free month again if you stay another hundred years. Well, at this point, I didn't ask any questions. I simply called another company, and asked them to go get all my furniture. I was willing to chew off my other arm if I had to, just to avoid having to see Megan Bowman's attitude again. I had at least another year until my home was done, but I didn't care. I'll pay anything to get away from this company. I've never met any company so arrogant, who seems to do everything to make you unhappy, and keep charging you for anything they can do, even when you started out with a different idea. Megan Bowman quickly, and surprisingly said, oh! Wouldn't you like a quote from us to move your things........No thank You was all I said. They made it difficult for the other company to pick up my belongings. Scheduling a date to get out of there, then that day comes and they hold the new company up u til 9:30 am from loading, then tell him at 3:30 to wrap it up for the day, we are closed. He had a half hour to finish loading, but they know what they are doing. He had to go back the next day to finish, they call me demanding another day on the dock fee. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to read the recent reviews as we moved with Jensen in August (most to storage, some to a transitional apartment), then again in mid-November 2022 (storage to new home, and apartment to new home). Bottom-line, they talk a great game, but they just want your money, pure and simple. Check every bill! And the front desk is not helpful, in fact, she was downright rude and dismissive. The movers were terrific people but failed to hook up the washer and dryer unit as it was connected in the previous home. We hired a handyman to install. They also charged us $455 instead of $325 for storage, and stored boxes and furniture that we said were NOT to be stored. We had to contact them to get those materials out of storage. We are still missing a box of bowls, but fortunately only had three items broken; however, we do not have receipts for the items (a bust of Bach, a Christmas decoration, and two margarita glasses), so we won't even bother to put in a claim. Over $10,000 later, the move is finally complete. I wish I had done better research for both reviews and pricing. Now, I am off to write them a letter, which I am certain will be ignored, as have been the previous emails requesting the owner call us. read more

The company seems to default to the agreement rather than satisfy the customer. I moved from PA to Florida and gave them a very specific address for the drop. I assumed they based the quote on that address. WRONG!!! They drove a truck 1500 miles, then realized it could not get on my street?? The solution was to rent a u-haul for $400 extra. They, of course, made their problem my problem with extra charges. "It's in the agreement" Must have heard that 10 times. FYI - I have had deliveries to the same address from an 83 foot truck and theirs, I am told, is 53. Classic move to get a few extra bucks. HORRIBLE!! BYW - everything is CASH with them. Either they don't trust the consumer or perhaps benefits them in some obvious ways?? On the brighter side the guys who actually did the work were nice and professional. We just used Jensen for the second time. We recently sold our town home in Perkasie and used them to move into a storage unit while we stay with my in laws. The movers were very pleasant and professional and took great care with our items. We specified which items we wanted at the front of our storage unit (just baby items just in case we ever conceive again) and they were very helpful in doing just that. We look forward to using them a third and final time for our move out of storage when we find our FOREVER home because moving is too stressful. We did not use their storage only because of a deal through a family member at the storage unit we used. Also, we used Jensen almost exactly 9 years ago to move from an apt into our town home. At the time we had another company come out and give an estimate and of course we went with the lower quote. Any moron would understand the word 'estimate' is just that, which is why we were not surprised our bill was high since we added the packing of a lot of our bigger items I did not disclose at the estimate. What I did find interesting though was two of the men who did our current move were on our move nine years ago and they were just as friendly and memorable! In response to Ana's reply to my review, I will add the following: 1. I'd be happy to share the email exchange between Jensen Movers and Storage to provide the facts vs. Ana's fiction. 2. You failed to mention that the police are being contacted about the TV your moving team took from our home during our move. 3. You also left out the email exchange that provided you with an itemized list of the items to be moved days prior to our move. Last, your company has 37 reviews on yelp and (you) maintain a consistent average of barely 2 stars. Using raw math that puts you at a grade of 40% on a non-Likert scale. Imagine if you rolled that into a more stringent NPS scale with promoters, detractors and passives... If I were you, I'd be focused on a massive internal review of your process, procedure and execution. Start top down first - because an organization is usually a reflection of its leadership. I'd also be sending out refunds vs. the cut and paste variations of the same rebuttal letter to all the clients who have provided you with horrible reviews. We used Jensen Movers to relocate from Philadelphia to State College in June 2019. My family and I have moved frequently and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had with a moving company. Here is a brief list of issues that we had: - failure to label boxes - failure to wrap fragile items, pictures, glassware, etc. - hiding furniture in closets to avoid moving items - theft of personal property - over 20 items damaged, destroyed, broken. including a family heirloom that we specifically identified to the packers and asked to wrap perfectly. When I called for a quote for moving had nothing to do with the estimate I was given. I didn't know it was such a busy time of year. Another family-owned business (for whom it is also their livelihood) was not only able to work with us to schedule a move, but the professional, friendly and efficient three-man team moved us in 3.5 hours. They, too, were extremely careful with our belongings and used pads, shrink wrap, and other tools of the trade to protect surfaces. It seems to be your business model to stick with strict numbers of hours and staffing requirements. That's fine. It is your business and you're free to do whatever you like. But my central complaint was and remains that you were unwilling to adjust my needs to your model. And i have every right to that complaint. read more

If you are looking to get ripped off and pay for outlandish fees Jensen Moving is perfect for you! I'm in shock at the few positive reviews on this page. I'm assuming it's the owner's relatives because it's highly unlikely a customer would actually rate anything above 1 star. Had I been given an honest pricing from the beginning I would not have a problem. However, their business relies on giving a low ball estimate then jacking up the price when the job is complete. No wonder they only take cashier checks and cash, so they can rip you off. I received a pricing of $325 for 3 hours which includes travel, gas and moving time. The movers were done within 2.5 hours and I live about 10 minutes away from the moving company. They argued that I needed to pay $426 for 4 hours because it took an hour and 10 minutes to get to my house. An hour and 10 minutes HA. I could literally walk it in that time. The entire reason I chose them was because it is close and would not take an hour and ten minutes to get there. I'm fortunate that it was just a few hours rather than an entire house worth of items. Trusted this local moving company with our large move to MD. There were too many missteps to even list. Only a few "highlights": Needless to say, they sent incompetent crew to load, didn't mark all boxes, no inventory list I ever saw to clarify items were actually loaded and unloaded, tore up our entry wood floor (and sent a $150 check as "settlement! LOL"), loaders argued constantly about how to load a truck among other topics, smoked constantly at doorways, left items in the home we had to pack and load in cars, didn't clean up bottles and food bags, missed timelines (we needed additional hotel nights to accommodate their missteps in timing), management non responsive and promised the world as the issues were happening and only sent more incompetent people, owners never called to apologize, etc etc. Again, this isn't even half of the issues we dealt with. Best one was their explanation of how a $800 floor repair was only $150 worth of their responsibility. It was a classic BS written amateur joke of a settlement letter. Happy to share of anyone wants! It's that "good". One positive? Sure. The guys who unloaded were on time, worked hard and got the job done. Would have helped if boxes were marked (their words) but they were good. Funny though how the website and their sales guy says "people who load are the same that unload". Huh? Nope. So, run, don't walk, from this company. Low cost means low service. Amateurs at best. They provided an early estimate prior to packing and again after everything was packed so we could confirm the cost of the move. Loading the truck went just fine...kind, courteous and hard working staff made short work of loading the truck. On the day of delivery, i experienced sticker shock when told my cost would be DOUBLE the estimated price! Since they held all of my belongings "hostage" until paid, i had to scramble to get $3500 in secured funds upon delivery. So, bottom line...beware of Jensens bait-and-switch pricing policy. They will entice you with a low-ball price and then inflate the price to complete the move. I've held off for nearly six weeks to make sure I give an accurate review, not based on negative emotions, so here goes. We contracted with Jensen movers to relocate us from our Philadelphia home to our new residence in NJ. We'd interviewed three moving companies, and based on our face to face interview with Nicholas, the sales person from Jensen, definitely decided they were who we wanted to move us. Nicholas was nice as can be, sold us on Jensen being a long time family owned business, with glowing recommendations of their business and their customer's reviews. Their crew showed up the first day, and did an excellent job of packing our stuff up, the problems began on the second day. There was different personnel from the first day, and all the instructions that my wife went over in detail regarding items that needed to stay in Philadelphia for our estate sale went out the window. We had separated out items that were to go to New Jersey, and items that were staying behind in the house, in fact had them separated out in a different room from items to go to NJ. After another day of packing and loading our belongings, Jensen arrived at our new house in NJ, and we saw during the unloading process that almost everything that was to stay in Philadelphia for the estate sale ended up being moved to NJ. I discussed this with the Jensen crew and foreman when we discovered this, they felt badly but said there was nothing they could do, we'd have to call the office, which I immediately did. I explained the problem, and wanted to know how they were going to rectify it. Megan at first said she would talk with the schedulers and get back to me. I then spoke with Nick (different person than Nicholas, their sale person), who was present at our move the second day, and who claimed that is was our confusing instructions that caused the problem, not their negligence. When I asked what was confusing about me telling him to check with my wife, as she coordinated all the information to Jensen personnel, on what was staying at our Philadelphia residence, and what was going to NJ, he claimed I never said that! Long and short of our conversation was that the "best they could do" was to offer us a reduced rate to move the stuff THEY had mistakenly moved to our NJ home back to Philadelphia. I was incredulous and said that I'd like to be in a business where I was the one who messed up, and have the customer pay to make it right. Both Megan and Nick were absolutely no help and did nothing to make things right, and their attitude towards us as customers was nothing short of insulting. When my wife asked to speak to Nicholas (our original sales person) Megan refused, and told her that would not be possible, and that she (Megan) was the final word on the matter, crazy as that sounds. It was the lack of communications on Jensen's part, with having different personnel each day that led to the horrible experience we had, and resulted in such a negative, and very expensive, experience for us. I only wish we had investigated them further, and had seen that they only have a two star rating on Yelp. Jensen Movers were great. They were punctual, friendly and efficient. They were very professional. They even put cardboard down to protect our carpets and hardwood floors. They shrink wrapped and covered all furniture before moving it, at no charge to us. They were not the cheapest bid we received, but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. We were very satisfied with Jensen and I'm sure you would too. I would definitely recommend Jensen. They earned a five star rating. read more

Do NOT use this company!! If we could give 0 stars, we would. As another reviewer wrote, this company uses predatory tactics. My mom, a SENIOR CITIZEN, was told not once, but TWICE that they had made addition errors in their math. Really?????? What business runs like that? Do they not have a calculator?? Why didn't the estimator ever call my mom back after 3 days of leaving messages?? They hiked the bill way up even after my family moved a great deal of items to save some money. THEN they demanded a cashier's check before they would deliver the furniture. Not even once did they try to make the situation right by reaching out and providing customer service...no calls from owners, estimators, managers or anyone to apologize for their TWO errors, just some cranky lady in the office telling us to go to the better business bureau. The moving crew was fabulous. I have never seen a group of people work so hard. They wrapped every piece of furniture and took great care to ensure neither the furniture nor the house were damaged. They went above what I expected, even moving a refrigerator in my new home from the first floor to the basement. They are a little pricey compared to estimates from other movers, but I can't say whether the end cost was more than what other movers would have charged. I asked for an audit of my bill regarding some charges when the furniture was delivered. It took more than a month for them to finally respond and I had to follow-up with them to ensure it was completed. In the end, I was satisfied with the result as they refunded approximately $500 based on only needing one truck instead of two. I would definitely recommend Jensen. read more

UPDATE: I used Jensen again this past April and was very disappointed. We decided to have Jensen pack us as well as move us. I scheduled everything months in advance so that it would go smoothly. The packers were to come on a Thursday morning at 9 and never arrive until after noon. One of them was not their usual packer and had very little motivation or energy. I had to tell him what to pack and keep an eye on him the entire time. I packed boxes along side of him thinking it would give the idea but it didn't work. The packers only stayed until 3:30. I was sooooo mad! The move was scheduled for the next day. So much for planning ahead. I called and left a message for the person I had been communicating with and never received a return call. They arrived the next morning with the regular packers who moved quickly from the time they arrived until they were finished. They had to bring extra movers on the loading end and at our new home. I am not sure what happened to this company but I would not recommend them. *************** This is the first time I have used Jensen. I sent a request for a quote via their website and received a call before 9 am the next day. Steve arrived early for our assessment appointment and was very nice and professional. On moving day the truck arrived over an hour late (called the office when they were 30 minutes late and was not told the truth), however, Dave and Rob made up for the "misinformation" the office provided. I cannot stress enough how professional, personable and hard working they both were. They did not stop moving from the time they came until they were finished. The move was June 10th and the weather was not good...rain, rain, rain. But that did not stop Dave and Rob from doing an excellent job. We did have damage...a leg was broken off a small wooden table, but to me, it was no biggy (that could have happened if we moved it in our car). The cost came in below the quoted price. The owners and management at this place are terrible. Things that were said at the time of the quote were not honored and when we questioned the bill at the end the owner's wife immediately turned nasty and started yelling at my wife. It was a big mistake to give them my credit card number because they billed me whatever they wanted. They forgot about my deposit and over billed my credit card for $500. When I called the office manager to ask why they billed me for 2 hours of travel time when they are only 20 minutes from my house they could not explain it and never got back to me with an answer. read more

Costed more than double than what was estimated, the people in the office are rude and unprofessional, and they damaged furniture in storage. Of course, they have a scam: They mark your furniture as damaged (with codes that you don't notice) before they store. So now, I'm trying to claim that a desk bought this year in perfect condition was damaged, but they had previously marked it as damaged. I saw they marked a new carpet as "soiled." Ummm, but it isn't. Eff them. Seriously. My fault. Didn't do my research. We were in a crunch. Never again. read more
