Very disappointing experience. There seemed to be staff everywhere yet service was awkward and painfully slow. The kitchen is visible from were we were sitting and they were hopping only to have food sit on the counter for a long time. It was confusing to me because the restaurant was only about 30% full yet staff seemed to just meander around without a purpose. Everything is expensive in Ketchikan and I understand we are in Alaska but food quality was poor. I will leave you with a picture of $35 crab stuffed prawns. My wife ended up peeling off the breading only to find there was no crab and the shrimp was not cooked fully. Do yourself a favor and eat downstairs or take a Sourdough cab elsewhere. read more

We've been here a few times before and it's always just been average. Tonight however was awful. We came on a Tuesday night around 6. It was busy but no one was waiting. I ordered the Vegetarian Penne. It says on the menu that it's made with wine and olive oil, but it was literally swimming in it! My husband ordered the fried chicken with a baked potato. It also came with steamed veggies. The chicken pieces were SO tiny it was like it was parts of a Cornish game hen. He said the drumsticks were more like the shoulder pieces of the wing. His veggies were mush. The waitress asked us how our dinner was. We hesitated and I said that was A LOT of oil! She just smiled slightly took my plate and asked if we wanted anything else. She didn't check in with us until after we were done. Not sure we will ever come back. read more

We had dinner here on 11/16/24. It was the worst dining experience we have ever had. After dinner was served a tray of drinks was dropped with shattering glass. My husband didn't get his dinner salad or a potato with his prime rib dinner, nor a steak knife. No condiments were given and once received (after asking numerous times) our dinner was cold. We sent the prime rib dinner back because of the broken glass. It was evident that it was rinsed off and put on another plate. It was soaking in what looked like grey dish water. The piece of prime rib looked like a grey piece of cardboard as well. We've had great prime rib here before. So, we know what to expect. When we brought this to the attention of the manager her response was "I heard about that". Then she proceeded to argue with my husband. We've been dining here for over 20 years. We live just up the hill and favored Jeremiah's for the good food and even better service. None of the long time servers are even there anymore. I now understand why they have only 3 stars for being such a nice looking establishment. I've been here for 10 minutes, no one greeted me at the door, I stood there before seating myself at the bar. Sat at the bar for 5 minutes before saying excuse me to get a servers attention and all I got was her holding her finger at me and said "one minute" not a friendly tone or be right with you at all. Still sitting here while the waitresses walk around in circles acting like they have the hardest job in the world. Would not recommend. Dirty tables galore too. read more

I visit my family in Ketchikan a few times a year and have been doing so for almost 20 years. I've never really loved Jeremiah's but the ambience and service is acceptable and it's was a good place to take the family from the time the kids were little till today. Not only was the food marginal at best. But they now charge full soda price for a refill. Of course something that was never mentioned. Not only that but, when they refill they continue to add ice. So you're lucky to get 5 oz of soda for $3.25. So after close to $30 for soda and a very bland (literally no seasoning) patty melt I felt I wanted to write a review. The appetizer of green beans was good and the spinach artichoke dip ok. But the chicken sandwich was soggy with honey mustard and the prime rib over cooked. Anyway, my biggest complaint was the soda. When you start charging after 20 years of not maybe it would be nice to mention the fact when your server asks multiple times if you'd like more soda. My family and I will never return. Just isn't good enough to be considered a couple hundred dollar meal. read more

Overall a really strange and unpleasant experience. Our main server, Gani treated our party poorly right from the beginning. When we asked for menus after having sat down for awhile, she responded in a rude tone that we would be helped when she was available. We saw her greet other parties after us with a much friendlier attitude, gave them menus right away, and several tables got their coffee before us despite sitting down later. She didn't pay attention to us while we saw her check in on other tables and patrons, so we didn't end up asking for anything since the service was already very slow and we were running late for our plans that morning. At the end of the meal, she made us get up to pay up at the cashier, but we saw her bring the checks to many tables and we were standing their awkwardly in the way of other servers. We had a great time with other restaurants in Ketchikan and the other servers at Jeremiah's were lovely. The food was even fine we but would never recommend this place based off this experience. Lastly I'll note that we were the only people of color at the restaurant that morning. It is hard to prove micro aggressions but we definitely felt sad and frustrated that this was happening to us. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! We were a party of 6, four adults and two kids. Two of the adults ordered the Berringer Chardonnay, but when the wine came it was red wine (the waiter was clearly new on the job and had mistaken the Chardonnay for the Cabernet, not a big deal.) When it was time to order we asked what type of salmon the "wild Alaskan salmon" was on the menu. The waiter had no idea what we were asking and had to ask the kitchen (no big deal because we were seated right in front of where the food was being prepared and could hear the "chefs" say Sockeye, but also you should know this in a restaurant in Alaska!). We still gave them the benefit of the doubt but it should have been a huge red flag. We then waited over an hour for our meals to come out, all while watching others be served first. We had to flag the waiter over for more drinks while waiting. When the meals finally came out about 80 minutes after our order, they were missing the included soups and dinner rolls, which we had to explain to the waiter were part of the entree and included in our meal (and then when he brought them he only brought 3 back, not 4) The salmon was extremely dry as we had literally watched it sit on the grill for 15 minutes BEFORE being flipped, then sat under a heat lamp For 10 minutes while the other meals were prepared. The kitchen staff did NOT have their stuff together, and the wait staff did not know what was included with each entree. It was so bad WE ONLY PAID FOR OUR DRINKS and did not finish our entrees because they were horrible. Absolutely NO TIP was given, but here's a real world tip: food needs to come out in 30 minutes with EVERYTHING INCLUDED on the menu! If things are running a bit behind, check on your table to see if they need any more drinks and APOLOGIZE!! It goes a long way! Had two great meals here, the halibut fish & chips & Chicken Picada(sp), very well prepared, presented, and full portions. View was stellar as it's upstairs but a little hard to locate: look for the Landing building. I told her water and I needed a menu since I hadn't been there before and needed to see what they offered. 20 minutes later we got our water and the menu. 20 minutes passed before she returned so we could order. We ordered the lumpia appetizers which we good and very very tiny. I've had lumpia before but never that small. My husband had the chowder, he thought it was ok I ordered the bean soup of the day. They define my need some seasoning. Asked the waitress for salt. Never received it. The table next to us couldn't get water or condiments either. Pretty freaking expensive. But it's a hotel bar/restaurant so what was I expecting? Anyway it's a pretty nice place attached to the hotel to come have a drink, watch some ESPN, and have some food. Read an article recently that said a BLT was the best cure for a hangover. I wasn't feeling my greatest so I ordered up their Halibut BLT and man did it hit the spot. Delicious. If you have no expectations, looking to get ignored, don't care about the time you'll lose while there and love a good ole fashion dysfunctional atmosphere and are prepared to pay over $70 for it all, then this is the place for you. After a long day travelling from Whale Pass and a 3hr ferry ride into Ketchikan we were extremely hungry and decided to try Jeremiah's. What a serious mistake we made. When we arrived there was hardly anybody there. That was a good sign we thought. We sat down and from what we know now the bus boy came over, greeted us, and asked if he could get us something to drink. We ordered and then just sat there and watched Jeremiah's get fuller with people all while they were being tended to and served. We on the other hand, continued to wait on a simple drink order. Another younger man finally comes to our table (at this time he should have been delivering the drinks we ordered) but asks if he could get us something to drink...We replied that we already ordered and have been waiting on them. He said "oh, he's the bus boy" can I get you something? Are you kidding me! This is where we made a mistake and should have just stood up and walked but we were hungry and didn't. We ordered our drinks again. We ordered our dinner and after time went on this turned into the same waiting and being ignored game all while others were being served; not to mention the group of 5 older men that came in way after us. They not only were served their drinks immediately they had their dinners before us even though we order way beforehand. Yes, you read that right. Table of 5. One can only image the frustration at this point. When our dinner FINALLY arrives we were told that my dinner the Halibut Olympia ($37.99) would be arriving in about another 12mins. Totally unreal! As we were telling him this was unacceptable especially after the way we've already been treated he apologized for the inconvenience and said "can I offer you another drink?" We agreed and considered this "offer" as complimentary gesture just like anyone else would in this situation. Being already full from sharing a plate with my partner when my meal came I just asked for a take-out box and he asked for the check. As I was putting my meal in the box the check arrived and we were charged the extra two drinks that were offered. When we questioned it, he said "oh, I would never give anyone a free drink, it's against the law" What? Then why deceive someone into thinking you're trying to make a bad situation right? The whole experience was just horrible! I will add that they gave us my meal free (whoopee) but after what just happened, I dropped the take-out box on the plate and we just left. I went to this establishment a couple of times just out of convenience. The lunch was quick to table and the servers were on their game. The fish fry (halibut) was good, but not as good as they claimed - unless the rest of the town makes bad fish and chips. It was mediocre food and a bit greasy but overall it was prepared nicely. Their beer selection was fair but they had a couple of beers that were not available or replaceable. This was on the 2nd floor and not the cafe on the bottom floor. This pub is one of my favorite places to eat in Ketchikan and I would recommend eating there. Service there for the most part is pretty good earning their first star due to the lack of bad service I've had eating there. When it comes to food, it's quality earns itself a half star, and keep in mind when compared to other places in town for burgers they fall behind. In terms of cleanliness, they earn their star, all the tables are cleaned, the place smells good, and their soap is awesome, which is important considering that what you're likely going to eat is finger food. Next they are very consistent with their food, therefore you have quality assurance here which earns them a half star because the assurance is for medium quality good. The overall experience id's pretty good, the food moves fairly quickly, you don't feel rushed to make your order, but I would say it is a little pricy to eat there. This earns it for my scale a .75 star. Overall they earn a 3.75 rating which rounds up to a 4 star and I feel the overall rating between reviews of 3.5 is fair. ~ Alex read more

NOT impressed. I went there for a beer. I had an Alaskan Black IPA, which tasted absolutely awful! I bet they need to clean their taps, in a big way. Their beer is 60% more than the Asylum, at $5.75 / pint. The Asylum charges only $3.50 / pint for the same beer and it tastes WAY better. read more

This place also serves food from downstairs, The Landing. Incredibly mediocre. The servers are good and it was apparent that our server was training someone. They were very courteous and fairly attentive though we could have used a lot more water more often and other refills on the soda. He food was blasé. I ordered the Alfredo and right away the server mentiond that if you add pawns, you only get three for an additional $9! I opted for the chicken for an extra $6, which wasn't a bargain either. When it arrived it tasted like Pasta Roni. And the chicken was weird and sliced very thin apparently to disguise it's toughness. The dish was heavily "seasoned" with fake garlic powder and margarine and what tasted like a generic, stale seasoning packet. After a few bites I could barely stomach anymore. For almost $25 this was unacceptable. My companion ordered a salisbury steak, which didn't look all that appetizing but he said was okay. The volcano cake was so not impressive. Tasted out of an old box. The total tab without any alcohol was over $70 plus tip. Absolutely not worth it. read more

I am a Ketchikan local who has frequented Jeremiah's. Tonight I received quite the cold shoulder from the servers bordering on being ignored. I was there about an hour and had 1 glass of water with my meal and waited patiently for a refill before filling it from a pitcher at the counter myself. There was a group of gentleman on the outside deck behind me drinking heavily, being loud and vulgar (yelling obscenities at times), and smoking cigarettes. Anytime I would shut the door to the outside, they would prop it open again as if finding it amusing that I had to inhale their cigarette smoke while I ate. They had more than 1 server frequent them while not refilling my water. It was not busy at the time. It was quite clear to me since I was only 1 individual and they were about 6, that I did not matter. Quite frankly I did not feel welcome there at all and will not be back. I am in Ketchikan on business and the place I really wanted to go to for dinner was closed so I just decided to dine at the hotel restaurant and pub. The place was fairly full so I was feeling pretty good about my selection. The menu was very typical pub fair and I really was not very excited about any of it. The courteous waitress mentioned prime rib as the special for $20 so I went with that plus a dinner salad for an extra $2. When I got the salad the lettuce was on the verge of wilting. I took a couple bites and ordered a glass of their house wine for $5.50. It was a Berlinger and was potable. When the entree came it was a mess. I guess it didn't register that what I had ordered was a Cajun prime rib! It was a nice cut of meat and cooked perfect medium rare but is was blackened and smothered in mushrooms and topped with three greasy onion rings. I gagged my way through half of it and said to myself that I shouldn't eat anymore because its not going to get any better. I blame myself for the poor selection but the creation belongs on no plate. I've had breakfast here and it's ok and maybe the other menu items are better but what I had was not really fit for consumption. read more
