The "coke" isn't Coke at all but they will not tell you that until after you try the horrible imitator they pass off as Coke. Were out of the clams and were not told this prior to ordering. The plates look like a 5 year old practicing cooking for the first time assembled them, however a 5 year old could come up with better flavor than this fried garbage. It's a hole in the wall place you might easily pass up if you don't know about it but you should definitely give it a try. The menu has been updated and the food is delicious. There's a variety on the menu from seafood to pulled pork and lots of yummy in betweens. Make sure to get the loaded homemade potato chips. Also, the beer deals are great here. You can get 32 oz beers in Styrofoam cups for like $7. The service is good and even when it's busy I feel like you are given individual attention when looking to order. read more

A nice hole in the wall place on the Nautical Mile. It is known for its big styrofoam cups of beer for cheap and it's cheap seafood. A friend and I split three things: a dozen clams, a fried platter(calamari, clams, and shrimp) and the Mahi Mahi sandwich. For my taste, I wish we got the grilled platter instead. It was too much fried food for me in the platter. Clams were okay but small. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was the best thing out of the three. I'd come back but just get the grilled platter instead. If I never came here again, it would be too soon. I'm surprised I didn't write this sooner, but I visited last summer for lunch and it was a decision I easily regretted. I love The Mile and I regularly come down here for drinks and dinners. I wanted to try some place new on The Mile so I Yelped and came up with Jeremy's. This is the only time Yelp has turned me in the wrong direction. First: The "Decor" I'm sure this is a great place to be at night after you've already downed some tequila, but during lunch in daylight? NO. There are bras stapled all over the ceiling/wall in the bar area. There is turf (that's right, turf) covering what I can only imagine is the moldiest floor possible. The chairs are plastic, cracked, old white patio chairs (you know, the kind you buy for $3 at the local k-mart/walmart that break after a light rain storm). Second: The Food Here is the only slight saving grace. The crab cakes were OK, just OK. Overpriced and just bordering the place between decent and bad. The french fries were disgusting...soggy, torn into a million pieces and wet? My boyfriend got a burger and didn't love it nor did he hate it. It was (say it with me, now) just OK. Third: The Service Nonexistent. There apparently are no servers or help during the day? Honestly for the first 5 minutes of waiting and awkwardly walking around saying "hello?", I wasn't sure if they were even open. Seriously, we walked to the front of the place just to make sure we were there during open hours. Anyway, finally I heard something come from the kitchen, again said "hey? anyone here?", again, awkwardly. A bartender came out, handed us a half shredded paper menu and told us we could sit in whatever patio chair we wanted and to come back up to the bar when we were ready. (You guys, there's NO ONE in this place. I mean NO ONE but me, my boyfriend and this bartender (and I'm hoping a cook). Apparently customer service is dead. Essentially, this place is awful. I'm rocked with surprise that this still gets so many good reviews to this day. I'm sure it must be much more of a good time at night when the chicks' bras are spontaneously flying off of bodies in a tequila-soaked nightmare, but I will definitely not be returning. read more

For starters, this is a casual bar and seafood joint. It's got tons of flavor, both in terms of the restaurant itself and the food they serve. It's the best in the area for prices, and in many ways, better than the fancier places you'll find in the area. Everything you could want from under the sea can be found here, including some farther away favorites like nawlins style crawfish! The food is all super fresh. When I went, I had a field day... shrimp, lobster, scallops, mussels, crawfish... I couldn't control myself! Chowder, apps, munchies, and entrees, it's a full service menu, so bring your appetite! If you are looking for good beach food and don't care about things like presentation then look no further than Jeremy's on the Nautical Mile. I have been to many of the restaurants along this canal-side strip through the years and been disappointed time and time again after eating poor meals at high prices. Jeremy's delivers the opposite. Four of us filled up on a shared appetizer, four meals, 3 extra sides, one bowl of soup, and 4 large beers (there was great debate whether these styrofoam cups were 32 or 40 ounces- they were huge) for $22 each. I can't remember the last time I ate in Freeport for less than $50 each! All food was served on paper plates with plastic flatware at our dockside table after ordering our meals at the bar; no-nonsense! There was so much food we ended up bringing some home to reheat for another meal. Our calamari legs starter was perfectly cooked, fried to a tender, golden brown. One of the best plates of fried calamari we've ever had, not one piece was overcooked and rubbery. The serving was gigantic; easily shared among all. There is a special each day and two of us ordered the Tuesday special; 1/2 pound of shrimp. I got the buffalo shrimp and it was perfectly spiced and served with a fresh blue cheese. My husband is a fried shrimp connoisseur and could not get enough of his plate of beer battered goodness. The cocktail sauce was great, although we thought the tartar was a bit too lemony (grab the sauces at the bar- they are in plastic squeeze bottles). My parents ordered the seafood combos, one grilled, one fried. The grilled dishes come with rice that is on the plain side, but why fill up on rice when there is so much yummy seafood around. If you are a Manhattan Clam Chowder eater this is a must; homemade, filled with clams, and the broth has a nice clam flavor to it without being overpowering. And the onion rings are old school- big onions, fresh batter, piled high. The beers are cold and delicious, and the gigantic large may be the best drink deal on the Nautical Mile. If you want a romantic night in well-decorated surroundings, or a waitress to serve you, or anything fancy Jeremy's Ale House is not your place. I'm a local and Jeremy's is our spot. I'm there at least once a week. I don't always eat, sometimes just to hang out, have a cold drink and relax. Off the bat, Jeremy's is not about decor or a sophisticated atmosphere! If that's what you're looking for, it's not the spot for you. That being said the food is great, consistent, and reasonably priced. Just walk up to the bar, put in your order, have a seat and they'll bring the food to you. You get your own condiments as well. This place is about self service. Some of my faves: the grilled or fried seafood platters. Grilled comes with rice and salad, fried comes with fries. Fantastic softshell crabs, steamers, clams, you name it! Both the New England and Manhattan clam chowder are tasty. Jeremy's chowder mixes the two and it's awesome. Pretty good wings and burgers as well. And the chips! Oh the light, crunchy homemade mountain of potato chippy goodness! Even if you're just going for a drink, I highly recommend ordering at least a half order of chips for you and your friends to munch on. Not so faves: the baked clams (I like whole clams with a little seasoned breadcrumbs on top, theirs are chopped, but tasty). Also the marinara sauce isn't great. But we can't have everything! They usually have at least ten beers on tap, and you can get a giant styrofoam cup of beer for a bargain! And it MUST be mentioned, the staff is absolutely AWESOME. When my husband and I come here, we know we are getting good, cheap eats. We don't come here for the ambiance except to eat waterside. Their New England clam chowder is top notch. My previous experiences with eating out at Freeport has always been lackluster (and really expensive!), so I wasn't too excited when my fiance suggested Jeremy's. But I was pleasantly surprised!! Kind of a divey place (which I honestly love) - order at the bar, and go seat yourself on a variety of tables out back or along the side (or indoors). We had clams on the half shell which were briny and DELICIOUS. Fiance had the fried scallops, and I had the soft shell crab. The lobster roll wasn't all that great (it tasted like imitation crab - no big chunks of sweet lobster meat), but for $8 I wasn't all that angry about it. 2 diff sizes available for beers - 16oz plastic cup or 32oz styrofoam cup (which helped keep the beer cool). We sat out back and just really enjoyed ourselves (and made friends with the people around us!). Will definitely be back! read more

This was actually my first time on Nautical Mile - we came for Mother's Day and had perfect weather. My girlfriend had found this restaurant on yelp so I had no idea what to expect. The place is a bar and grill - you order at the bar and then take your seat. For 3 we ordered a lot! We had the fried oysters w fries and corn on the cob, crawfish, snow crabs, and lobster tail - the price was right and the food was soo fresh and soo good. On top of all that we got there early so were able to get a seat in the back overlooking the water. Definite worth visiting Freeport for some good seafood! read more

One of the best seafood bars! I live in Brooklyn but I want to move to Freeport just because of them. That's how good they are. They have outdoor space which is right on the water. It's mostly self-service as you have to make orders yourself at the bar, they will bring it to you but everything else you have to do by yourself (get ketchup, forks, spoons, etc). Food is awesome and drinks are so cheap. The staff is amazing. I LOVE THIS PLACE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! read more
