Black excellence at its finest! First off, our waiter Patrice was on point! She's was very patient, kind and efficient. The food was amazing. The music was lit, the drinks too. Also, they had like some videos playing to the songs...great nostalgia. They really made my bday party pop. I'll be back. Thanks again!

Good music playing, big sports TV, stage looks like it can be accessible for a band or dj. Open parking in the back. Only thing is the service could be a bit better as far as the waitress checking on us more, and whenever the server brought us our food it was always a quick drop off and go. Employees were nice, no problems there. Also our orders didn't fully come out together. The wings came without the side order of fries. And the grilled catfish salad I got, the fish came out before the salad. Just little things like that. Drinks were good (affording to who I was with)! Get the "summertime"

I've been wanting to try this place. Glad that I did yesterday. It was the start of football season, so it was definitely a vibe inside. Plenty of space & tv's (fyi) Food was good. We tried the Cajun chicken strips (which had a very good flavor but they were very tough). Not overcooked, just tough. Lemon pepper, garlic wings, and truffle mac was also pretty tasty. We also enjoyed the garlic fries, I'll just need to have them cooked a little longer. They were a bit flimsy. Good drinks too. Star of the show was for sure the fried broccoli (I know...I know) but it's delicious. They also have a good ranch dressing. That's a MUST! Wasn't overly crowded. Service from Charde was impeccable. She was knowledgeable and attentive. I think that I will return to try a few other things and perhaps brunch. Prices are a bit steep buuuuuut what isn't. Entrance and parking is around back. You can also make reservations on their website.

The fried broccoli was coated with a fish/chicken seasoning and my daughter didn't like it. It could have been a little more crispy. It was a little on the salty side. On the menu said breakfast was on Saturday but we could only order certain things. My daughter didn't like that we had to go through the back door. My grandson said his peach lemonade tasted like regular lemonade. I wish I had know the fresh had salt on them also otherwise I would t have ordered it that way. Otherwise they were homemade. I tasted the waffle and it had a hint of nutmeg. The salad doesn't look fresh. The tartar sauce was good.i need to put my fish I. The air fryer because i like it a little crispier.

This is a black owned restaurant located on Crenshaw near other black businesses. I think this place is really cute. The decorations inside are a vibe. Usually it's not crowded unless there is a game on TV or a band playing on stage. As far as the service, it's pretty decent. Have had some nice waiters. The food kind of takes a minute to come out. I've tried several things but my favorites are the fried broccoli, Cajun pasta, and miso salmon. Recently when I went though, their wings weren't cooked thoroughly and were pink inside. This was my first time experiencing this with them because usually they're pretty good. Also, the Caesar salad has an interesting sauce that wasn't the best. I would definitely come back though to try other things.

I love the hip hop and the comedy after 7pm every first Thursday night. Cover is $20. The fried catfish is to DIE FOR! My tummy is super happy. The signature drinks are all awesome. Give it a try right here on CRENSHAW!

The service here is always horrible and slow. You don't come here expecting good service lol. But this was probably the best salmon Caesar I've ever had. The happy hour drinks were good as well they just took forever to get so order two drinks at a time if you don't want to keep waiting. We literally were placing bets that the drinks would take more than 30-40 min to receive each time. But I'd go back when I'm not starving. Was a nice place to watch the game.

First time being here and I had a great experience! from the food to the service and the ambiance. Immediately, when we walked in, we were greeted and sat down with no wait , We sat at the bar area where diamond did an excellent job? I only make our drinks, which I had the thizzle I believe it's called and let's just say that was enough for me to get a good buzz lol but she she also was Vibing with us and making us feel comfortable such a sweetheart with a good personality ! the food I got the district deluxe breakfast and a side of catfish 10/ 10 everything was flavorful and they gave a good amount of food . Ambience absolutely beautiful and very clean. I love how they play music and they also have multiple TVs around if you are need to watch any games. With the menu being so versatile and having so many options I definitely will be back and I definitely recommend this place.

Fried salmon and grits with gravy. The amount of gravy was a tablespoon. I did not ask for anything to be separated or placed on the side.

I've eaten here several times before and have even ordered through DoorDash twice. The first time, everything was perfect, which is why I decided to come back. However, it's been about a year since my last order, and things have clearly changed... for the worse. I ordered the same dish I've loved in the past: grits and fried salmon with gravy. This time, they decided to separate everything, which they've never done before. The portion of gravy they included was ridiculously small, barely a tablespoon. You can see in my photos how little they provided. Even after I "poured" it over the food, it didn't cover anything. I've also included a photo of how it should've looked (based off of my past experiences). To make matters worse, there was a huge chunk of bell pepper in the gravy, taking up space and leaving me with even less. It was dry salmon and dry grits. Where's the gravy!? What really doesn't make sense is that they gave me two full sides of ranch for the fried broccoli, which was the perfect amount. So if they were going to put the gravy on the side, why not give multiple containers of that too? Especially for a $26 meal! The broccoli ($15), was WAY too salty, and that's saying something coming from me. I usually love salty food (my daughter always says I overdo it), but this was just plain inedible. This place has gone downhill. I was so frustrated trying to eat that dry, under-sauced meal. I won't be ordering from here again. Extremely disappointing.

My friend and I randomly decided to finally try the District after an event we went to. We had heard of it before but never had the time to stop. We went on a Friday night, and it worked out perfectly. Seating was quick, our sever Emeril was sooo nice, and Vicky killed it on the drinks! They were so good! We couldn't have asked for better service, and we were skeptical after reading some of the previous reviews, but we had a fantastic experience! There's free parking there and you should park in the back lot since that's where the entrance to the District is. There is a security check at the door, and they have a dress code for men. The food was okayy, not anything incredible but not bad either. I actually did like their fried cauliflower more than I expected I would. But I'd say I'd really be coming back here for the drinks and screens. It's probably a great place to watch the games now that football season is back! Overall, I had a great time, and I will be back!

The food was just as memorable. The chicken Parmesan was everything you want it to be: crispy, flavorful, and topped with a rich, perfectly balanced marinara and plenty of melted cheese. As we walked in, nothing caught our attention more than the brilliant lively atmosphere. As we took our seats we awaited what would surely be a culinary journey. We ordered the margarita pizza, the calamari, the meatballs, garlic bread, and the pasta pomodoro. Fortunately and unfortunately, our first dish of the night happened to be the garlic bread. The bread locked. It's garlic butter flavor, or that of flavor at all. if it was all we had ordered, Met Him At A Bar would surely be given one star, but thankfully they had more to offer. The meatballs for one held our attention much longer than that of the garlic bread. The flavoring in the meatballs themselves brought us straight back to our childhood straight back to our roots, as the creamy marinara sauce brought the dish to life. A simple yet elegant dish truly. For us, the calamari was simply there. It's maintained everything you want in a calamari yet added nothing new. It stood out to us not in a world of flavor, texture, and culinary experiences. The Margarita Pizza, however it was quite small. What it lacked in size was made up for in flavor. The melted mozzarella mixed with pizza sauce on the pizza to create a pool of flavor, lingering in the middle of the pizza until one slice is picked up and eaten. Lastly, the pasta Pomodoro. The sauce was thin, the pasta was overcooked instead of al dente. In the singular basil leaf stood atop the pasta, not for flavor, but to save the appearance of a disgraceful pomodoro. It's safe to say, Met Him At A bar may or may not be "Meating" us again... Most Sincerely, yours truly: Henry Pollock & Hayden Kalebic

Unfortunately, we left feeling more disappointed than impressed. To start on a positive note, we were seated on time, and all four of our cocktails were well-made and enjoyable. Unfortunately, that's where the positives mostly ended. Our overall dining experience lasted over 2.5 hours, which was simply excessive. We were seated outside, and for most of the evening we appeared to be the only table outside being served. Despite that, everything moved at an incredibly slow pace. Several items we ordered were either never entered or never brought out, which only added to the frustration. For appetizers, the Caesar Brûlée was the biggest disappointment. It honestly tasted spoiled and had an unpleasant aftertaste that made it difficult to enjoy. The Curry Corn "Ribs" had a nice flavor, and the Lemon Pepper Brussels Sprouts were easily the favorite dish of the night. The $23 bread basket, consisting of two fish-shaped pieces of cornbread and four small pieces of focaccia, felt very overpriced for what was served. For our entrees, we ordered the For Goodness Steak and the Bama Smoke smoked chicken. The steak itself was cooked to the requested temperature and had good flavor, but it arrived only lukewarm, which took away from the experience. The smoked chicken breast was tender but lacked seasoning, and the Alabama white sauce wasn't what we'd expect from authentic Southern-style Bama sauce. We were also excited to try the restaurant's famous oxtail pot pie, but unfortunately it had already sold out by the time we arrived. What made the evening even more disappointing was the lack of hospitality. When we expressed our frustration about the long waits, we were told they were busy inside--as if sitting outside somehow explained or justified the delays. Had we been informed that outside service would be significantly slower, we could have made an informed decision or at least adjusted our expectations. Even more surprising, during a meal that lasted over two and a half hours, not one manager or member of leadership stopped by to apologize, check on our experience, or acknowledge the obvious service issues. Overall, the food was average at best, with a couple of standout appetizers, but nothing that justified the lengthy wait or made us eager to return. Service and hospitality are just as important as the food, and unfortunately both fell well short of expectations. Based on this experience, it's highly unlikely that we'll be back.

The service was excellent. We were greeted immediately and the waiter took our drink order promptly, provided water first. The food was also very good. We started with chips and guacamole, oysters. Both were excellent. Those were followed by duck confit tacos and the pasta dish. If I return I think I'll get that pasta, it was really terrific. Cocktails were also excellent. The ginger margarita was so good I'll duplicate it at home. In short can't wait to return.

Well crafted and they had a spotlight cocktail, which is their featured batched cocktail, I kept ordering. We also tried their cucumber daiquiri and tea's knees that were very refreshing. Food was 3 out 5. Just okay. We went with the short rib barbacoa nachos but they lacked meat and cheese. I did like that they came with avocado and pickled onions. The calamari's batter was thicker than expected and there was an inconsistency with the crispiness. The chips and salsa came with regular and blue corn thick tortilla chips and the green salsa was very good. They have a small parking lot and also offer valet. Great prices for an LA happy hour.
