First off, let me start off by saying what a vibe this place is for a Saturday night. The DJ was on point and the music was great, but that's where it starts and stops. Let's talk about the food and the service. There was a Mexican chick who was our waitress and she was the rudest, most unprofessional server I have ever had in my life. If you don't like your job, find somewhere else to work, but to roll your eyes and get all short and impatient because somebody asked you for their receipt a second time (because you didn't bring it the first time I asked) is ridiculous. She also never came back to check on us until it was time for the check. Also, the Black woman behind the bar with the curly hair needs to find a new job as well. I shouldn't have to wait for you for over 5 minutes while you chat it up with the DJ instead of bringing me my drink. Now let's talk about the food. To pay $18 for 8 small party wings is highway robbery. Then my relative ordered a soda and I guess there were no refills because they really charged her $6 PER GLASS of soda. Since when are soda refills not free at a restaurant/lounge? I might come back to listen to the DJ but eating there, it's gonna be a no from me. Charging dinner prices for small plates is INSANE. I eat at higher-end places ALL the time, so I don't mind paying for food, but it's gotta be QUALITY food, and THIS ain't that. P.S.-Somebody by the name of "Shay S" messaged me on here earlier and said, and I quote "Your review shows your lack of professionalism and understanding. Good music playing, big sports TV, stage looks like it can be accessible for a band or dj. Open parking in the back. Only thing is the service could be a bit better as far as the waitress checking on us more, and whenever the server brought us our food it was always a quick drop off and go. Employees were nice, no problems there. Also our orders didn't fully come out together. The wings came without the side order of fries. I came here purposely to support The District on 8/2/26 based on their recent lease issues. Sadly I must convey that it was an absolute disappointment. There was only one bartender and having waited at the bar for over 30 minutes without any acknowledgment I left to eat elsewhere. The bartender was not skilled at multi-tasking, greeting the guests, nor having the decency to at least apologize for the delays. Also management should take its fair share of accountability by what appears to be a lack of proper staffing levels and the employees they are hiring that are a representation of their brand. I've been wanting to try this place. Glad that I did yesterday. It was the start of football season, so it was definitely a vibe inside. Plenty of space & tv's (fyi) Food was good. We tried the Cajun chicken strips (which had a very good flavor but they were very tough). Not overcooked, just tough. Lemon pepper, garlic wings, and truffle mac was also pretty tasty. We also enjoyed the garlic fries, I'll just need to have them cooked a little longer. They were a bit flimsy. Good drinks too. Star of the show was for sure the fried broccoli (I know...I know) but it's delicious. They also have a good ranch dressing. That's a MUST! Wasn't overly crowded. Service from Charde was impeccable. The fried broccoli was coated with a fish/chicken seasoning and my daughter didn't like it. It could have been a little more crispy. It was a little on the salty side. On the menu said breakfast was on Saturday but we could only order certain things. My daughter didn't like that we had to go through the back door. My grandson said his peach lemonade tasted like regular lemonade. I wish I had know the fresh had salt on them also otherwise I would t have ordered it that way. Otherwise they were homemade. This is a black owned restaurant located on Crenshaw near other black businesses. I think this place is really cute. The decorations inside are a vibe. Usually it's not crowded unless there is a game on TV or a band playing on stage. As far as the service, it's pretty decent. Have had some nice waiters. The food kind of takes a minute to come out. I've tried several things but my favorites are the fried broccoli, Cajun pasta, and miso salmon. Recently when I went though, their wings weren't cooked thoroughly and were pink inside. This was my first time experiencing this with them because usually they're pretty good. Also, the Caesar salad has an interesting sauce that wasn't the best. Immediately, when we walked in, we were greeted and sat down with no wait , We sat at the bar area where diamond did an excellent job? I only make our drinks, which I had the thizzle I believe it's called and let's just say that was enough for me to get a good buzz lol but she she also was Vibing with us and making us feel comfortable such a sweetheart with a good personality ! the food I got the district deluxe breakfast and a side of catfish 10/ 10 everything was flavorful and they gave a good amount of food . Ambience absolutely beautiful and very clean. I love how they play music and they also have multiple TVs around if you are need to watch any games. Can't speak on the food unfortunately because we left before we could eat. Made a reservation for 4. There was no clear check in, I approached someone and confirmed my reservation and was told we'd be seated in a few. It wasn't until 15min after that we were seated but still optimistic. We were never greeted by a server though there was one taking every order of the tables in front of us that also came in after us. We waited 20min, as the waiter was moving past one last time I tried to verbally and gesture to get her attention and was ignored. I decided to leave right then at 5:02pm. I've eaten here several times before and have even ordered through DoorDash twice. The first time, everything was perfect, which is why I decided to come back. However, it's been about a year since my last order, and things have clearly changed... for the worse. I ordered the same dish I've loved in the past: grits and fried salmon with gravy. This time, they decided to separate everything, which they've never done before. The portion of gravy they included was ridiculously small, barely a tablespoon. You can see in my photos how little they provided. Even after I "poured" it over the food, it didn't cover anything. I've also included a photo of how it should've looked (based off of my past experiences). To make matters worse, there was a huge chunk of bell pepper in the gravy, taking up space and leaving me with even less. It was dry salmon and dry grits. Where's the gravy!? What really doesn't make sense is that they gave me two full sides of ranch for the fried broccoli, which was the perfect amount. So if they were going to put the gravy on the side, why not give multiple containers of that too? Especially for a $26 meal! The broccoli ($15), was WAY too salty, and that's saying something coming from me. I usually love salty food (my daughter always says I overdo it), but this was just plain inedible. This place has gone downhill. I was so frustrated trying to eat that dry, under-sauced meal. I won't be ordering from here again. Extremely disappointing. read more

Service is horrible they told me I could not order drinks from the bar because I was at a seat. I needed to order drinks from a waitress however there was no waitress coming to the table. My friend and I randomly decided to finally try the District after an event we went to. We had heard of it before but never had the time to stop. We went on a Friday night, and it worked out perfectly. Seating was quick, our sever Emeril was sooo nice, and Vicky killed it on the drinks! They were so good! We couldn't have asked for better service, and we were skeptical after reading some of the previous reviews, but we had a fantastic experience! There's free parking there and you should park in the back lot since that's where the entrance to the District is. There is a security check at the door, and they have a dress code for men. The food was okayy, not anything incredible but not bad either. I actually did like their fried cauliflower more than I expected I would. But I'd say I'd really be coming back here for the drinks and screens. It's probably a great place to watch the games now that football season is back! I met some friends here before catching a movie at the Cinemark a couple of blocks away. There aren't a lot of good dinner options on a Monday in the area that aren't fast food but I'm fairly certain this is one of the better ones. Super professional service as we were greeted at the door and when we inquired about food and drink. Unfortunately, the a/c wasn't working very well when we went so it was a bit warm and muggy on a summer evening. This is a full bar with live entertainment on weekends with a nice, extensive food menu. The space is quite large with a club vibe and cool, LED trees. It was nice and quiet when we went but I suspect it is extremely LOUD when there are live bands. Reasonable prices for happy hour drinks that are just okay but that is expected for discounted drinks. Discounted bar bites also available for happy hour. My friends were happy with their Salmon Salad and Miso Salmon. My Killer Cajun Fettuccini with chicken was very tasty and had a nice, peppery kick but it had twice as much sauce as it needed. It was also an enormous portion. I took most of it home to add more pasta. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area and would be happy to try other dishes. read more

I'm beyond pissed at the level of fu*kery I recently experienced. Others and I have spent a good penny supporting this establishment to date. We've watched PPV boxing, other sports, brought out-of-state guests, watched live bands plays & never paid for tables or entry. EVER!! I made reservations on Jan. 5th to celebrate my birthday/Super Bowl (2/11). I called last Sat. to confirm. Shelly informed me that managers were meeting to decide if tables would be sold. I was asked to call back when a general manager was in. On Sun I spoke to Kenny. He ASSURED me my reservation would be honored. On Mon eve., Cori called. She quoted the price of a table, ~$200. Nope! She seemed a bit upset because Kenny didn't consult with her before "misinforming" me about my FREE reservation. Not my problem. Cori asked if I was interested in paying 1/2 price if it was approved. Again, NO! Why should I when it was FEEE to reserve a table on Jan 5th!! She said she'd call right back and never did. On Tues, I received a cancellation text. I called Cori and got no answer. So I began expressing how upset I was via text. First, management had an entire year, even months, to plan for this game. They did not. They could and SHOULD have honored all previously made reservations as a gesture of integrity. They would NOT! ZERO flyers were posted on social media about Super Bowl Sunday until Tuesday, well after my reservation was canceled and 30 minutes before I called Cori. Still, ZERO advertisements mentioned anything about purchasing tables. This is a perfect example of greed and low class business practices. Management would rather gain a few extra dollars for a once a year event than keep 6 customers who have lucrative jobs, returning to their establishment. My text was very clear that I would post a negative review with screenshots, names, and dates to show how this establishment lacked professionalism and did NOT stand on business. Icing on the cake: after all of my texts, Cori called to tell me that MY reserved table was no longer available. They would "accommodate" my friends and me BUT we'd have to come at 3pm instead of 3:30. Laughable! How about "accommodate " the party they sold the table to at the last minute. Well well...I didn't realize my reservation was at the one on hope at and we were on Crenshaw. Needles to say the lady was very nice and accommodated us(she didn't have to) and I'm was grateful. I have to honestly give the food and service a 3 star and that's being generous because I love the vibes for Taco Tuesday with the line dancing that's 4.5 stars by itself. The drinks are watered down like they let the ice melt in them before being served. The food that I had was wings, fried cauliflower and chip chips and salsa. The wings were just OK not really cooked hard. They had a weird flavor to them like they were old. The cauliflower deep fried, was OK. There weren't many chips in the chips and salsa it was like they emptied the remaining bag of crumbs on the plate lol. We had a party of 7 maybe 9 later. It took over 2 hours to get our food. I asked for the manager over 7 times in a 3 hour period. Shelly was here name, she would not come to talk to us. Another manager came in later and she sent her to see what we needed. At this point our party were upset but we told her what happen with our food, and nothing to eat ot with. The ceaser salad was not tossed and no dressing came with it when it came out. The waitress Ruth was fantastic. She handled the entire floor of over 75 people on her own, as well as the bartender. I tore the bill up and told the manger we did speak to to tell the other manager to eat that bill. Shelly took 20 percent off the bill when I asked for it. However the second manager handled the entire bill. When Shelly finally came to our table after 3 1/2 hours. I told her she was a horrible manager and she walked away, sending the bill back putting back the 20 percent on our bill, not knowing the other manager took care of the bill. I will never go back to that restaurant. Short staff and rude none responding manager. She should be retrained or let go. You always respond to your customer.
