Good bef jerkey selection and prices were decent, you obviously always want more for the price but the selection was great , last place like this was jerkyville usa in Monterey so happy to see this place is still up and running

How cute is this? And how unique is it to sell boar jerky, camel jerky, and python jerky? There are such things and we did buy them. It's a cool spot and fun to see, for sure. It's not often that you enter a caboose and handle business like we did. The prices are reasonable and they sell peanut brittle, honey, fudge, pecan rolls, and packaged dried fruit as well. The reason why I didn't give this a 5 is because it advertises candy, and the candy selection is kind of sorry. In my humble opinion, it's never okay to overprice the exact same candy that you can get across the street from the liquor store. There is candy from "The Nut Garden" that is extremely good and, from the package, looks like it hails from Utah.

Love jerky but it's so rare to find a jerky that's flavorful and chewable. This wins 1st place in all my years of trying jerky here and there! Found their jerky at an ice cream shop (Bud's) downtown and was hooked. So addicting that I had to visit the mothership! Timbo was great! Found him in their Italian restaurant Zano's near closing, and he opened the Caboose so I could get my jerky fix before leaving town. Did I forget to mention how personable and funny Timbo is? Well, he is! Go visit and try their huge selection of jerky!!!!

I'm in Truckee often, and I generally spend my time fishing, skiing, boating, cultivating my sunny disposition, and masking my disdain for all the flatlanders that have turned this wonderful town into Aspen Jr. While only 60% of my time is spent bitching about how much better it used to be up here, the rest is spent on the aforementioned activities, and stopping in at Jerky Junction. It's in an old train car which used to be Truckee Brewing Co., in the same center as Zano's on Donner Pass Rd. The shop is small but they manage to cram in every type of jerky you could want. I eat a real meat based diet, so I'm a real fan of jerky....and I don't give this label to anything lightly....but this place has THE BEST jerky I have ever had the privilege of consuming. For real! It's moist, has a good flavor, and they've got lots of varieties. Salmon, elk, beef, buffalo. I always stock up when I go in here so I can have enough for the week. They've got deals too, like 3 bags of their house brand for $15 (I think). If you enjoy a good jerky like I enjoy a good jerky, go here to get it. Yes, cross the street from the 7-11 and pick up the good stuff...there'll be a party in your mouth.

I saw their jerky, they had a lot of different flavors, including venison, elk, and salmon, which are a higher price than the regular jerky.

100% yes to Buoy & Trap Seafood! Way to go Truckee for having an amazing seafood shop & restaurant…read moreto add to the plethora of amazing food choices. I didn't even know this place existed since I had last been back to town. It was an accident to find it, we were going for a trusted and loved sandwich at Full Belly Deli next door and were happy to see it there. We came in during the week for trappy hour, where we had the most delicious oysters, shrimp, and chowder. Plus some really great beer and wine. We liked it so much, and wanted to try more of the oyster types they had so we went back on Friday afternoon to learn they don't have the oyster deal on busy days. Which totally makes sense, it's an awesome deal-- half a dozen for $15. So on our second trip we tried the ceviche, crab cake slider, and hot butter lobster roll. All delicious and fresh as well. I have nothing but good things to say about the food and staff. The only thing to be aware of is the dining area in the shop is pretty small, but if too full the tables outside of FBD could be used. Next time I'm in town I'll be back.

The place has a bar stool counter top sitting a couple picnic benches outside to sit. We arrived around 3ish in time for happy hour.( Monday-Thursday 3-5pm) We ordered a few things of the HH and one Connecticut Lobster Roll. First of the seafood was amazingly fresh considered where we are. We ordered the following (HH) Half Dozen Oysters- Absolutely fresh and delicious 5/5 (HH) Trappy Hour Hawaiian Poke Bowl- Surprisingly this was delicious. Tuna was well marinated and seasoned.5/4 (HH) Crab Cake Sliders- This was great, all crab meat in the crab cake.5/4 Connecticut Lobster Roll- The lobster was fresh and sweet. The portion size of the lobster roll was perfect for the price. 5/5 Service was great and friendly. They have plenty of parking. Highly recommend giving them a try if you're in Truckee CA.

Free samples caught my attention and striking up friendly conversation with the owner Karla MacLeod really showed you can deliver wonderful customer service without being pushy. Loved it! They have a huge line up of spices, anything for a simple to gourmet chef and fun country items. I was ECSTATIC to see she sells Nevada Brining Company pickles - handcrafted in the Silver State - Wahoo!! I just watched a story on channel 2 news about this start-up pickling genius and it was on my list to check out. Fell into my lap visiting this boutique. I bought the Boozy Pickle with Whiskey and Fresno Peppers and the fast selling Ruby Red Onions Sweet & Sour. Prices are reasonable and lower than what other outlets charge for this popular pickling company. I can't wait to try the cauliflower when she gets it from the manufacturer. I appreciate the attention to detail wrapping each jar in purple gift wrap paper and placing into a crafty gift bag. I'm coming here for a last minute gift ideas! Really convenient they take plastic considering how small this establishment is. What's cash? Next time, I'm going for the red spicy salt for Bloody Marys!
